  1. And it's the only reasonable way they COULD show up. Bonus content for fans is one thing, but another game with story-relevant kids this soon would be madness.
  2. You're fine with timeskips of 15 years minimum being forced into every game, but not some potentially irrelevant-to-the-main-story time zapping. Y'all need to get your priorities in order.
  3. I don't know what a "dream island" is but I like the sound of that. Thank fuck.
  4. You would rather shove a ~15-year timeskip into the middle of a game with no evidence of having a need for a timeskip in its main story and have all the characters somehow not age at all during that time than have a bit more magic in a game FILLED with magic?
  5. Are y'all seriously saying that time travel or Outrealm stuff would be worse than finding a way to shove the kids into this game WITHOUT time travel?
  6. Doesn't sound like it. Someone said there was a mention of them being in both main paths, and the third path replaces the other two rather than following them chronologically.
  7. Awakening was the most successful FE game and Fates has a reasonable claim to bringing the most new stuff to the series of any game since Thracia.
  8. I'd almost prefer characters to get married without any on-screen conversation about it, like in FE4, than rehash the disaster in Awakening.
  9. We know there will be some dialogue associated with this, but otherwise we don't know how this will be handled.
  10. We're talking about a game where you can recruit Marth and alternate versions of your own characters from other peoples' save files. There was never any chance of this being a game where you'd get all your characters through conventional, non-timewarpy means.
  11. Bleah. This game has been shaking things up enough that there are no real "Awakening 2.0" concerns, but I don't like the idea of this being a series staple rather than something that only shows up every once in a while. I guess Outrealm stuff could explain it with minimal impact on the story? So that's what I'm hoping for, if this is real. And none of those awkward Awakening-style marriage conversations.
  12. Eugh. What the fuck? Can't they give it a rest for ONE game?
  13. No world map? Seems odd given that Hoshido still has skirmishes but I guess they're accessed through the castle instead?
  14. Kamui romance wouldn't require S rank supports, anyway. Given that there's no other characters to conflict with, all it would take is making Kamui have a set of possible romance events as part of the castle conversations, one with each qualifying character, and the ability to pick just one to trigger with one of those characters upon getting an A rank support with them and fulfilling whatever other conditions.
  15. Excuse? FE changes around features all the time. They don't need an excuse for leaving out any given feature from one or more games, just because it happens to be one you're incredibly attached to for some reason.
  16. It makes sense. Without Awakening's child system, it doesn't have that kind of significance to be worth devoting special gameplay mechanics to. It's likely the main character can get paired up as usual, though.
  17. We know swords, lances, and axes have Hoshido and Nohr variants; do the other weapon types have the same split? If magic is divided into Hoshido magic and Nohr magic, it would make sense for Nohr magic to include "dark" tomes while Hoshido magic has other spell types, each available to all magic-users from that side. Given that Leon is a Dark Knight and seems to have access to dark magic, it seems likely. And we know about Revenant Knights as other dark magic users, right? It was one thing in Awakening to restrict the special tomes to a specialist class, but if they're handing them out to classes like that, it doesn't seem like they're going that route at all.
  18. Holy shit, that's fantastic. I do have to continue to give a solid "wtf" to the face game, though.
  19. Yeah, finally getting that thrown weapon nerf will help a lot. As long as they can prove their worth alongside mages, they should be fine. I'm under the impression Hidden Weapon stuff can work at range but is different enough to not compete?
  20. Heh, he doesn't look much like traditional Myrmidon family characters. Pretty rad though. "Ree-OH-mah" is definitely closer to the Japanese pronunciation, because the "ou" sound becomes like "oh" rather than "u".
  21. Yes. It works that way for all weapons, not just knives. I guess the fact that knives are so heavily associated with critical hits and don't really do damage on their own means they need the fixed damage to work, so it could explain the reasoning? But it seems like a very strange way of going about it regardless.
  22. So 28 chapters, any information about Paralogue equivalents?
  23. When you're comparing to Cherche, it's already too late.
  24. Misleading? It's perfectly consistent with how the page works and there's no reason for a "+1" even in terms of weapon rank to bring a character who didn't even have an E previously right past it to a D.
