  1. I'm just saying, if someone's calling out the slur, it's a pretty safe bet that they're aware of its history and that people using it may not be aware of what's wrong with it. Bringing up the slur's common use as if someone calling it out isn't aware of it comes off as rather inappropriate and dismissive, even with an acknowledgement that they have a point. I don't intend to press the issue, but I want to convey that much.
  2. The term has nothing to do with FE; its use for this series is no different from its use to refer to other characters.
  3. http://i.imgur.com/2D318PV.png Okay it's not THAT specific but still.
  4. I swear that "Grima" was copied straight out of the Berwick Saga generic portraits. I've said this was basically Berwick Emblem, but this is ridiculous.
  5. Forgot about Dark Knights; in any case I don't count Corrin's special classes.
  6. So based on Awakening it seems Dread Fighter would use swords, tomes, and possibly axes, while Dark Falcon probably uses the Hoshido lances, tomes, and possibly staffs? Which wouldn't actually cover the missing weapon types as well as in Awakening; all it would add is sword/tome. So maybe there's something else to the picture? Notable missing weapon combinations so far are sword/staff, sword/tome, axe/staff, and axe/bow. Plus bow/tome, which was missing even in Awakening, and most combinations with hidden weapons.
  7. First post mentions "Chapter 7x" - sidequests confirmed?
  8. It's not favoritism; it's a natural consequence of this system for giving one non-unique kid to most pairings. In Awakening, the kid was tied to the mother; here, they're tied to the father. But because the player avatar has a kid tied to them either way, if they're the parent not normally tied to the kid, then their couple will have two kids.
  9. I imagine you get their LV1 skill but can't get their LV10.
  10. Are you sure? They look like Corrin's dragon form, and have swords and tomes in addition to stones.
  11. Alternatively, with stable time loops, the child time-traveling into the past is already accounted for in their own history. There is no sequence of events where they don't time travel back, so there's nothing to change from and no possibility that they won't get born.
  12. See, there's this thing called time travel.
  13. The summon teams were based on the overworld skirmish system, and there's no overworld here. So any Spotpass stuff will probably be handled differently.
  14. You can recruit non-Corrin characters via Streetpass, right? So if they have a Streetpass Corrin, they could also have Streetpass Hoshido exclusives.
  15. Wait, who's Eltshan? Is he one of those Camus expies?
  16. On the other hand, you can tell a perfectly fine story without dialogue, and while the Fire Emblem games weren't designed to be played from that perspective, I've found that they can still be more compelling at times without knowing the exact words the characters are saying.
  17. Less than two days by now, I think. It's already the 23rd in Japan.
  18. Yeah it's definitely worth considering if you would be getting the Japanese version in place of the English version or in addition to it. I plan to get both, personally.
  19. It tends to go fine for me, personally. If you have a JP 3DS already, it sounds like you've played JP games before, so if you have your own experiences to go off of, they might be more helpful.
  20. There's replay value in choosing a promotion to go for. Having a random selection is just an annoyance.
  21. Troubadours in Awakening could give up their horse, and unless it turns out there's another mounted healer we haven't heard about yet, Rod Knights in Fates will have the same option. We can't rule out Adventurer, but it's either Adventurer, Maid/Butler, or some as-yet unrevealed class.
  22. I'm sure Revenant Knights are just a regular Dragon Knight promotion, like Dark Pegasus in Awakening. Non-flying classes don't really have a history of promoting to flying classes, and there's no indication of it being special.
  23. Felicia and Jakob have the skills and reclass options that would fit promoting from Rod Knight. However, it is possible that they're special cases, which would leave Rod Knight's other promotion as either Adventurer or some as-yet unseen class. There's been a lot of uncertainty about this.
  24. Rod Knight and Dark Knight have no equipment in common.
  25. I haven't been keeping up with the project much in a while but I don't think it is complete.
