  1. Either Pokemon Blue, Baldur's Gate or Gothic. Probably Pokemon Blue since I still remember being confused by levels back then. So I was probably 10-11 years old.
  2. Why Ike didn't appear in person, IS nevertheless already used that door they kept open in order to introduce Priam. And just because IS was working towards the return to the home consoles, doesn't mean they didn't care about the GBA games.
  3. She is? But the timeskip was only 17 years. And she has an older brother too.
  4. So if the mask is separated from the model like that, are the Marths using the exact same model as short haired Lucina with not even the slightest modifications? I wonder if they would display the mask too if they were renamed into Marth or Lucina but I guess it's limited to the actual Lord class.
  5. At least Katarina immediately demonstrated why trusting new recruits with these things is a bad idea. Not that this is ever acknowledged.
  6. Personally I like the replacement units a lot. I think they do a good job of preventing new players from getting stuck without giving the impression that the death of the characters is meaningless. As for Reclassing, the way it's done here, it sucks. With little more but a unique portrait and a hair color, characters feel so replaceable. I have little motivation to play this game again just so that I can play with Thomas because he plays no different then anyone else with his class kit. I would really like to know how this game ties together with New Mystery. Personally I got the impression that the game really wasted that opportunity. For example, they could have made Hardin a main character to match the way he presents himself later on. As somebody who was vital for Marth's success. The few lines after his recruitment chapter don't cut it. The biggest flaw I see with this game is how casually IS copied all the old bases and growths of the characters with no consideration on how this works with Reclassing. Consequently, weired stuff happens. For example every single Armored Knight sucks at their job because in order to match their old def bases, they have no actual base def or growth themselves. Back then, they still had the highest def around but now they are outclassed by everyone with their class kit. Another one is that they included a bunch of new mechanics with zero consideration on how this affects the old game. So now we have the weapon triangle in a game where just about every enemy uses lances, so sword users face a permanent disadvantage. EXP gains are also a problem now. In the old games, Prepromotes would have gotten levels at the same speed as everyone else. So technically their bases weren't low for their level. But now they grow slow on top of having shitty bases. And they should have at least raised their bases on hard mode. And the models feel cheap. For once because they have no individual color pallets (making all Paladins look like Marcus of all people.) but also because they didn't make a model with Marth wearing the Shield of Seals And they copied all the weapon icons from FE3. They didn't even make a new icon for the Falchion, so the blade is still all gold. Kinda funny, given how the new redesign looks like. It also annoys me that IS has limited the classes for female characters to those possessed by characters of the original game or one of the new characters. Like, Midia was a Paladin, so they have access to Paladin but no access to Cavalier. Now, they might have made the models before coming up with Reclassing. But after New Mystery, I think they did this deliberately. Because in NMystery, they got General but not Knight. And there was a Female General in the original game. They probably only got Cavalier because of Cecil. And both General and Cavalier use the same model as their male counterparts, so there was no reason not do the same thing for the Knight and make them all available for female characters. And they don't display the stat boasts of Dragon Stones. Maybe they originally intended to have actual transformations like in FE3 so they designed the interface without displaying such stat boasts. But that makes it no less annoying.
  7. More then three years after the release of the Nintendo 64, to be precise. I would really like to get some insight into Thracia's development history. Why could they have possibly decided to start developing another game for the SNES when they only finished their previous game in the same year that would see the release of Nintendo's new console? Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if the Tellius references are the result of the developers themselves being fond of the setting. As stated in that Radiant Dawn Nintendo Dream interview, the return to the consoles was their long term goal during the GBA era. So they probably put a lot of effort into it and consequently care about it a lot. Heck, in the ending of RD they casually had Ike leave Tellius. That was so out of character, they must have wanted the guy to reappear in another setting.
  8. It's only her Lord class. Since she only promotes after she joins, it wouldn't make much sense for a masked Grand Lord model to exist anyway. Edit: Ninja'd... *ouch*.
  9. Sorry for that. Anyway, I brought chapter 6 up because by that time Lucina shouldn't wear the mask since it got cut in half in the previous cutscene. So I wonder how this was handled. Unfortunately I have no luck finding any footage where she gets involved in battle.
  10. I couldn't test with Streetpass but I just brought Lord Lucina into Aversa's Spotpass map and her counterpart does indeed wear the mask. So I guess that's how the game always displays Lord Lucina when she is not controlled by the player. Is the model that is used in chapter 7 as an NPC also the one with the mask?
  11. Thank you for the clarification. Now the FE11 translation is effectively in line with the translations of FE1/3 on this site. So if the Awakening translation is correct, then I guess they have to be renamed in-universe. It's just that Tiki of all people is the one who names all the gems in chapter 16. She would still know the actual names.
  12. Well, since caps went past 20, Luck was always as high as stats could possibly go. So I guess it's just consequent to have Luck this high since there are units with stats higher then 30.
  13. Are the names of the gemstones supposed to be different from the spheres in Shadow Dragon?
  14. How does Leaf as a relatively weak melee fighter benefit from Charge?
  15. That would be Sigurd, Seliph, FE3 Marth and RD Ike (poor starless Micaiah). That is hardly anybody. Besides, Leaf has both Leadership Stars and boosts half the team with supports. Leaf also starts with a good weapon rank in a game where raising it is actually hard and the Brave Sword shows up early. His personal sword doubles as an Elixir and he has the Adept skill. And having a PCC of 2 means that he is effectively guaranteed a critical on his second hit if he uses a killer weapon. But of course his Movement star is hardly notable. While he might be weaker then other members of the team, he still has little trouble killing most enemies because they are rather weak. For everything else, he can use better weaponry.
  16. Well, Lissa's irritation last for about 2 lines until the end of their B support and is immediately forgotten afterwards. Other characters deal with it even faster. How does Sully react when she finds out that Henry almost killed her with a curse? "You're crazy! But I'm even crazier for having asked for the damn thing... So wait a second. What do you mean about the first curses not taking? Does that have to do with strength or willpower or something?" And so the topic has already moved somewhere else. Needless to say, not only was she minutes away from dying but he only stopped the curse because she was actively asking it. He would have snuffed out her life and she knows it. I don't have all supports, so maybe you know any that shows a bit more then brief surprise that gets quickly forgotten but all I saw have the others just happily hanging out with this psycho like he is such a pleasant company. It's the same with Tharja. She curses Stahl in her B support. What is his first line in their A support? "Hey, Tharja. Whatcha doing with that big crystal orb?" As if the previous conversation that ended with him fleeing the scene never happened. Frederick's supports with them are also fun since it applies to both of them. He only cares that these two are making their exercises and even ignores it when they directly curse him. And he is the same guy who was accusing the Avatar of being a Plegian spy just because there was no evidence to the contrary. But the two evil Plegian mages who abuse him and the rest of the party are for him somehow beyond suspicion.
  17. If I read supports of the likes of Henry, it's usually not him I consider inhuman. Lack of empathy, sadism and cruelty are things that really exist among humans. What I find harder to believe is that people who supposedly have empathy would treat him like his behavior is nothing out of the ordinary and even marry him. That is what really creeps me out. You don't even need empathy in order for this behavior not to make sense. It's a basic survival instinct. While Henry might have a backstory that explains his behavior, it does very little to justify how everyone else treats him. What trauma did they suffer in order to think that Henry behaves like a normal human being who poses no treat? Quite frankly, I prefer if the localization doesn't even pretend he is anything but a comic relief character and nothing that happens during his supports his to be taken seriously.
  18. Mine was Chrom. Of course I didn't really know the guy that early in the game. So I knew little about his lacking sense of responsibility and treatment of defeated nations. But dammit, he saw me naked and I saw him naked. You can't tell me that this isn't a sound foundation for a lifelong commitment.
  19. When I first saw his artwork, I assumed he was a woman until I realized that he had both an expressive pose and clothes that cover his entire body.
  20. Well, in this special case they had the benefit of knowing exactly how many portraits they needed and for what classes.
  21. My guess would be that IS simply orders a huge bunch of generic portraits for enemy officers and thugs and then uses them when needed, That would explain why they wouldn't have portraits for such special occasions, so they simply went with an generic thug. Well, whatever the case, they should have just used Chrom's portrait like you said. Or at least recolored the guy's hair. Well, we are talking about the same guys who have no problem with Tharja and Henry among their ranks. Tharja doesn't even get into trouble when she claims towards none other then Frederick, that she cursed him.
  22. Just be careful that when you lure Ayra away, you don't run right into Aideen's pursuers.
  23. 1. Ike 2. Falco 3. Altina (Who cares if two people are using Ragnell?) 4. Samus (as in: with revamped gameplay similar to Mega Man and no forced transformation into someone you never actually play in her games) 5. Isaac
  24. I guess it has to be Shihiram. A man who resisted the corrupt senators and went along with his loyal companions because of Begnion's corrupt senators and ended up in Daein, just to have to live an entirely different lie. So they ended up throwing their values away in order to be accepted and taught their children instead values they don't actually believe in. What's particular depressing about it, is that Jill being so desperate for her fathers has to be the result of her sensing his unhappiness about her actually adapting the things he taught her... resulting in her trying even harder to follow them. It's no wonder that after 18 years, he and even the generic grunts just feel tired and depressed, feeling they wasted those decades of their lives. His story also adds a lot of depth to the Daein nation, showing that while Daein officials might hate them for being immigrants, the Daein citizens he lives with don't actually care anymore and hold them in high regard. So one can't just dismiss them as a bunch of xenophobes and racists. Reality is a bit more complicated. Plus, it results in the reaction of the Daein citizens being both heartwarming and depressing, showing how much they appreciated him and his comrades and yet show his respect by suffering needlessly.
  25. I do find it surprising to see the game displayed as Feuer Abzeichen 7. Just why would their stream ever translate the title by region?
