Member Badges - Character Nominations
California Mountain Snake replied to Popo's topic in Member Feedback
Male: Boyd. Only because he's a sexy BEAST. ...But as far as we've been informed, these are just nominations, not votes. Female: Nephenee Andro: Valtome EDIT: If I may also say, I think the current badges are boring as fuck. The mod ones. This website just has way too much green and paleness to it, and some bold badges would help make it seem a little less monotonous. I especially see a deep purple Valtome badge just popping with this color scheme, and if you're tasteful with your pallet, a fire crimson Boyd badge and Nephenee's teal could also work very well. But just color. Goddamnit. -
The only reason government exists is to safeguard the natural rights of the people who empower it. Read some fucking Locke of GTFO.

So what's happening?

About 7 weeks into a 9.5 week language program in Japan, and the day I get back to the US I have to wake up early and get my wisdom teeth removed, which I'm actually looking forward too because I've got one halfway sticking out of my gums and it's making eating a bitch. The language classes themselves here have actually been a bit of a disappointment, but going to Japan for over 2 months on my school's dime is totally worth it even if I have to deal with the class. Boyfriend status... not yet achieved. Where you applying, if I may extend the nosiness beyond the OP? -

Question about the Christian God
California Mountain Snake replied to Kedyns Crow's topic in Serious Discussion
Just what this forum needs, another condescending psudointellectual nimrod. "Sigh... not this again."? You haven't even been here a day. Shut the fuck up. No one who knows what they're talking about says "Science proves that God doesn't exist." Humans cannot detect the existence of things which are noted for their conspicuous incorporeality, and passing the judgment on the existence of such things is also impossible. The point is that if you are going to claim that God EXISTS, then yeah you have to fucking prove it. If you want to prove he doesn't exist you have to prove it too. But when you say there is no evidence proving or disproving His existence, then no, you don't have to prove a Goddamn thing. There is no "bias" towards people who want to prove God's existence versus those who want to disprove it, there is simply a burden of proof which falls equally on both sides who want to make ANY claim about God's existence or lack thereof. -

You can buy convex mirrors to stick on the corner of your side views which can give you a hint if there's something there (I had a set on my old Explorer), but it's still best to just check if you're doing something like changing lanes. -

You have no idea what you're talking about, do you? The suspicion that black holes exist, and the formation of a preliminary hypothesis was based off conjectures made to account for observable phenomena, such as irregular gravitational measurements and spacial anomalies. It wasn't just Steven Hawking going "You know what would be cool?! Big sucky death things that destroy everything! Yeah!" Please don't underestimate the intelligence of your audience and think you can get away with deliberately misleading shit like this. -

Actually, I like this idea a lot. Although making 10 badges might be a lot, what about having the variety in the badges (which I voted for) come from the 10 various affinities, and have the character in the fore be a famous character with that affinity? This would certainly provide plenty of color variation, as well as a way of making the badges non-ranked, since it will just be based of preference of star sign or whatever shit.

First ten years of my life, I lived here: Elgin, Illinois Now, I live here, Vermont. This was the only picture I have, and a shitty one at that. Yes, that's a tractor in the back yard. Next year, My dorm will be here (the large building in the fore with the large triangular[ish] interior courtyard and the jade dome, Eliot House)

Me? A responsible driver? Also, get good at backing up. Backing into parking spaces and pulling out is a lot safer than pulling in and backing out. This goes for driveways as well. Of course, the ideal situation is to find two parking spaces across from each other which are empty, so you can pull in through the back of one and park with your nose out, and then pull out again when you leave. Basically, never back up unless you have to, that's when most careless accidents happen. Also, for smoother driving, keep your hands lower on the steering wheel. The old advice of 10 and 2 (keeping your left hand at 10 o'clock on the steering wheel and right at 2 o'clock) is highly outdated, mostly because modern airbags will break your fingers if you keep them there. Putting your hands at 9 and 3, or slightly below, helps develop the habit of pulling the wheel in the direction you want to go, rather than pushing it (IE, you want to go left, use your left hand to pull the wheel down counterclockwise rather than your right to push it up). This in general results in smoother driving, and can also reduce fatigue in your arms for longer trips. -

This is concerning. I suppose I'm not like the normal contact wearers because I actually prefer to have them in and feel it hydrates my eyes. But I've never heard something this severe. I know that some people use a type of solution to store their contacts which will cause extreme burning unless you wash it off with a special rinse solution after taking it out of the case. What kind of contact solution are you using?

Troll: someone who tries to create as much disruption as possible. I merely stated an opinion which irritated you, on the other hand you tried to create conflict by dragging previously discussed issues into this topic in the attempt to create contentious discussion. Who`s the troll again? -
Care to elaborate?
