Dieck is very good early on. If he's getting good level ups, then just keep using him. Gonzales is also really powerful. I would recommend against using three Hero Crest users though, and Rutger should really get the first one.

Alright, it's time to play FE4, my favourite game! And what's more, thanks to the efforts of the Fire Emblem hacking community, we can finally play it on Gameboy Advance! I am so excited! I'm gonna go with Hard Mode. I hear all it does is change the AI a little and FE4 is super easy already, so I'll take the extra challenge. For those of you unfamiliar with this game, in FE4 we follow the adventures of Sigroyd, the most powerful lord in the series, as he stomps across the continent. Uh-oh, looks like there's bandits on the loose! This maniac already getting started on this village, but thankfully we do have like 8 turns to save them before they're fully burned down. FE4 is generous like that. Let's see what our hero Sigroyd has to say about this! Milord, bandits have laid siege on the villages and taken the castle! So yeah, hope you are enjoying my playthrough of FE4. It's kind of imbalanced, but that's the fun of it. Swords are very light... Lances not so much. Javelins blow. I'm liking the big maps though!

As someone who posted the idea of using Ambush Olwen with Dime Thunder a long time ago: don't do it, it's bad. It's not even close between Eyrios and Olwen. Olwen puts herself in mortal danger every time she uses Dime Thunder. With that ~20% death chance Horace showed earlier, imagine having Olwen face 5 enemies over the course of a chapter. She has a ~68% chance of death that way. What a great use of a skill.

Man, your LTCs look so messy mid-chapter, I always scratch my head and wonder how the hell you end up in a quick clear every time. There's always remnant enemies all over the place seemingly standing in the way.

The point is that Seram is good. Doesn't matter if other Mages are better, Seram himself is a solid unit. Olwen in particular is a lot worse: no staves, and her prf weapon is heavy to the point where she basically can't do enemy phase with it. Salem is 2 HP/2 Def level ups removed from equaling her physical durability, but he has a lot more room to grow with the use of scrolls. His promotion instantly gives him +4 def. Sure, Asvel, Linoan, Homer and Sarah are probably better than Seram. But Seram is better than most units in this game, including Olwen.

In Fe7 RR, my Lucius was replaced by Legault. Then in Dragon's Gate, another Legault showed up. I now have 2 Legault in my team.

Averages do not tell the whole story. Tanya starts off really weak with her 3 base str. She's not reaching double digit strength until promotion. She can be helped a bit by the str scrolls, but the early ones only give 5-10% extra each and it's tedious to have them on her every level up. If you play really, really slowly she can eventually sort of become good, but at that rate, anyone can be. Supporting Othin is nice for him, but since he has Wrath, he doesn't need a whole lot of help. The boost to his accuracy is nice, but not worth all the trouble repeatedly deploying Tanya is.

There's no denying that it takes great skill, it just doesn't look as flashy, especially to people used to action games.

Abusing the predictable RNG seed: the beginning of the end for FE GBA speedrunning. Several eloquent representatives of the Twitch chat (Kappa) were expressing that this was menuing: the game, and I can't blame them. It's fun to watch once, but after that, never again. Molotov is an awesome guy though.

Well, Rolf and Shinon's relationship is hinted at earlier. But I figure most people would suck it up and kill Shinon once they see talking to Rolf doesn't get him on your side.

This whole playthrough is going to have the game speed set to slow, isn't it?

I had growth max variance set to 25%, and I still have several units with >100% res growth. Am I misunderstanding how this is supposed to work or is this a bug?
