Sigurd is Sigurd, enough said. Ethin heals on a horse. Lex is tank. Ayra reliably kills shit dead (especially if Sigurd doesn't wanna proc crits in C5, Ayra's job is to kill Langobalt dead), Levin also reliably kills shit dead. Aideen heals.

FE4 GEN 2: Celice | Levin!Arthur | Aless || Lakche | Shanan | Sety

Celice is Celice. Levin Arthur is Holsety on a horse. Aless is critfest. Lakche is my favorite chick in FE ever and kills shit dead. Shanan has my favorite weapon ever. Sety kills shit dead and heals well.

FE5: Felgus | Fin | Dean || Machua | Mareeta | Asvel

Felg is amazing in Munster Escape and thereafter. Fin is just amazing period, still kicking ass in Endgame with only a C rank in swords (killing edge~). Dean is amazing AND FLIES. Machua...well, I scrollspammed her since female axe user on promo and didn't disappoint at all, Mareeta got 12 move the first time I played Thracia, and Asvel best bosskiller.

FE6: Marcus | Miledy | Clarine || Rutger | Dieck | Echidna (need honourable mentions to Shin, Percy, and Niime, man I like so many people in this game)

Marcus makes HM not that painful through C13, Miledy is a tank and flies, Clarine is ultimate dodgy healbot and gives Rutger crit. Rutger crits shit dead. Dieck makes earlygame not painful and remains strong throughout and also contributes Rutger's absurd amount of crit. Echidna has B axes and high base skill and speed and can actually hit shit with axes and I don't have to grind for her rank which is awesome.

Honorable mentions: Percival takes Marcus's job of being awesome at chapter 15, Shin shoots shit dead, and Niime has best staffrange ever outside of infinite range staves in 5/11/12.

FE7: Marcus | Farina | Vaida || Raven | Lucius | Pent

Marcus rapes the game. Farina saved my ass on Cog of Destiny. Vaida has 22 base defense and flies. Raven kills shit dead. Lucius kills shit dead while looking pretty and gets C staves on promo to go with it. Pent kills shit dead, uses the best staves, AND is insanely hot.

FE8: I only use Seth Seth | Duessel | Franz || Joshua | Gerik | Saleh

Seth rips FE8 a new one with Javelins.

Duessel is Seth 2.0 with less move, Franz is like Seth 2.0 after promotion, Joshie is hot and is decent at killing things, Gerik is hot and is better at Joshie at killing things, Saleh can bomb shit and heal.

FE10: Haar | Titania | Marcia || Mia | Ike | Shinon

Haar is god on wings, Titania kills shit dead, Marcia kills shit dead and ain't afraid of magi with Nullify, Mia kills shit dead 5 times, Ike is Ike, Shinon has a pretty ponytail, awesome player phase, and is kinda tanky if I need a distraction.

FE11: Abel | Cain | Shiida || Ogma | Merric | Barst

Abel saves my ass on H5 by being amazing. Cain is almost like Abel. Shiida is Win spear. Ogma is manly. Merric is Excalibur. Barst is also manly and pretty awesome.

FE12: Catria | Palla | Sirius || Ogma | Navarre | Malice

Catria is goddess on wings. Palla is goddess on wings with Silver Lance. Sirius is Sirius. Ogma is still manly. Navarre is hawt, and Malice is a suboptimal character but I play Hard and not Lunatic so she does fine anyway and contributes well enough. Plus she's my favorite character.

First of all, I really like medics. Vulneraries can never quite get enough health back when I need it. I don't think I've ever gone through this game without using both Serra and Priscilla until the final chapter (where Athos can take over healing if necessary.)

Other than that, Hector's a powerhouse with DEF and SPD, Canas brings the Dark magic, and I just like both Florina and Sain. Doesn't hurt that they both usually turn out great.

FE8: Mounted: Vanessa, Franz, Neimi (Ranger)

Unmounted: Ross (Not Journeyman) , Lute, Ephraim (Normal Lord)

Mostly favoritism here, but this is assuming I don't spend time monster-busting in the tower/ruins/map. Ross is pretty powerful and levels up quickly, Vanessa and Franz are great all-rounders, Ephraim is the new Hector, and is most useful before other units catch up post-promotion, Lute's great and powerful (if a bit scrawny, only had around ~21HP before promotion on one of my playthroughs, if memory serves,) and Neimi is the only real bow user except for Innes, and usually turns out well (except for HP, again...)

FE9: Mounted: Kieran, Mist, Astrid

Unmounted: Ike, Soren, Mia

When I first played POR, the biggest surprise was that mounted units could move again after attacking. While I went with foot soldiers the first time through (out of favoritism,) later playthroughs had me learn to appreciate Canto for it's true worth. Thus Kieran (who's awesome anyways) and Astrid ended up displacing Boyd and Rolf, solely based on this utility. Also, once again, fighting medics are awesome (even if they're still fragile,) and Mist wins out over Rhys (super-squishy physically and average speed,) and Elincia, as we didn't have to wait till the game was nearly finished to get her. Ike is basically an all-rounder superpower, Soren brings the magic harder than anyone else, (and can staff on promotion unlike Calill and Bastian,) and Mia's just fun to have.

FE10: Mounted: Marcia, Jill, Geoffrey

Unmounted: Micaiah, Nephenee, Volug

Pretty much everyone in RD is needed at some point, so here it's more surviving until Part 4 and then building your final team from there. Until then, I have Micaiah for Thani/power magic/heals , Volug and Geoffrey for tank in their parts, and Jill/Marcia for flying utility. Nephenee, however, usually turns out to be one of my better (and more mobile) lance units, so she usually goes on to Endgame.

FE11: Mounted: Cain, Abel, Jagen

All of these guys saved my bacon going through H5, and are seeing me through till the end, except for Jagen (Currently on C24.) Everyone is in their original class, except Barst and Cord who swapped to Heroes post-promotion.

FE4 Gen 2- Mideel!Lester, Levin!Sety, Azel!Arthur( Now I know Levin's better off with tiltyu, and I've played fe4 fully only once, so..) Levin! Fee somehow became so awesome in the last chapter though. Also, Leaf,Celice and Aless.

FE 6- Mounted: Treck, Alan, Lance. Non-mounted: Dieck, Rutger, Geese/Gonzales( they're interchangable, really.) Miledy comes close to the cavaliers.

FE 7- Mounted: Hrm... Kent, Lowen(I use Lowen a lot) and Rath( I like using Rath. Love pairing him with Lyn) Non-mounted: Raven, Dart( To hell with 50000 gold, or else I use Hawkeye) and....Canas/Lucius. Both are interchangeable, really. I like Pent too.

FE 8- Mounted: Seth is out of question. In a Sethless run,- Cormag, Forde, Franz. Forde is because he's the speedy one and he's Franz's brother. And I like his personality. Non-Mounted: Ross(use him every playtrhough), Gerik and Joshua. Ewan and Saleh are close behind.

FE 10- Mounted: I personally dont enjoy using them. Oh well, Haar's broken, so that's nice. Then there's all those nice laguz bar Lyre, Lethe and Kyza. Exclude Laguz, and I use Titania/Oscar/Geoffrey. Kieran may make it sometime. Non-Mounted: I like training the Dawn Brigade, and Edward just rocks the boat. Ike of course, but take out Ike and then there's Shinon and Mia. Nolan's cool too, and I like using Nephenee/Aran.

FE11- Mounted: Abel, Cain and Caeda. Horseman Barst/Cord/Castor are fine too, and Sedgar and Wolf are broken once trained,Hardin rocks. Non-mounted: Barst,surprisingly Gordin in my H5 playthrough, otherwise its Cord and... Merric.

FE 12- Mounted: Luke/Rody(Luke has more priority of course), Caeda, Frey/Cain. Catria and Palla are cool and all, but dont have wing spear. Non-Mounted: MU(XD), otherwise, Navarre, Ogma/Barst, Draug, but Draug and MU can function as mounted/Non-mounted units pretty well.
