Armagon
So earlier today, i watched Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla. And while the list is still very small, i'd say that this one is, so far, my favorite Godzilla movie. We have a human-Kaiju story that is actually well balanced, more balanced than it was in Kong: Skull island (which i feel did get close enough). I think what helped was that the human cast wasn't as big. There's really only one character you really needed to pay attetion to and that was Akane. This isn't the first Japanese Godzilla i've seen but it is the first where most of the effects were practical. Shin Godzilla used a lot of CG but in GAM (let's use that for short), you can tell when the sets were miniaturized and of course, Godzilla and MechaGodzilla were costumes. It just has that really unique feel and made the effects seem more impressive. Although you do get some goofiness out of it, i suppose. I do have some mild problems with the plot but the movie itself is pretty short and there is a sequel, Tokyo S.O.S, which i plan to watch tomorow. Overall, great movie. Ā Like i said before, the list is very short right not but here's what it's looking like I've made it my mission that by the year's end, i'll have seen every GodzillaĀ andĀ King Kong film. That's like what, 40 films total. And not all of them are good (the Godzilla anime trilogy is gonna be a pain to sit through thanks to it's awful CGI). 2 hours ago, DragonFlames said: Zeke-- excuse me; the ZekeNATOR (!!!) finally joined the party! Zeke himself is powerful but he's also kind of a glass cannon. Probably because his attacks generally do come out slower, especially if using Megalance Blades, so keep that in mind. 2 hours ago, Interdimensional Observer said: St. Patrick's Day Sonic gets 5Ā points for being consistent with his modern (Sonic Adventure and beyond) artwork. Another thing, I actually don't like the idea of having to "create" my own difficulty, it just kinda feels a bit lazy on the devs side. I know some of the Mothra films are solo and I believe the original Rodan also didn't have Godzilla though I might be wrong on that. Basically, on this marathon, the movies don't need to have Godzilla in them but they have to be part of the "GodzillaVerse". King Kong technically isn't part of the "GodzillaVerse" outside of crossovers but I'll still be counting King Kong movies as part of this marathon. After all, King Kong walked so that Godzilla could run (King Kong predates Godzilla by 21 years). 46 minutes ago, Lightchao42 said: (I also remembered that Godzilla vs. Kong was originally scheduled to release last week, so now you have more time to watch every Godzilla and Kong movie before it releases.) Yeah, it got pushed back a few months ago to November and in hindsight, that was a good thing, as releasing right during a time when society has basically paused due to the coronavirus wouldn't have been good. To compare, i hear Onward's box office sales are being hit by this. Speaking of Godzilla vs Kong, yesterday I found out that the director of that movie is the same one who directed the Netflix Death Note movie and because of that, I am concerned.
