I don't think so, since usable items such as bombs are equipped and that method has been in place since Escha & Logy. What point are you at right now? Just to be sure, you're trying to access Tools under equipment, right? Because Tools and Exploration Tools are two different things (usable items go in the former). Ryza is a bit the "dirty" type for sharing some skin and having moving front building whilst Klaudia is the shy modeste blonde noble "angel" type. Both fit to each other so well.
