Randombobman
Well and Canas lives/is from somewhere in Ilia, as revealed by his death. Wouldn't it make sense that Niime lives there as well, if he continued her study of Dark magic, which requires a library and lots of resources. Superluigi
I was reading this topic, and I was all "bleh, people arguing." Then it hit me. FE6+ IS BACK! Holy shit, yes. Oh yeah! Well, progress has been slow this week, very slow. I can't blame it all on work either, CSGO is just too addicting... Anyway, so this week I've managed to pretty much finish the new edition of chapter 3. Some of the notable changes include: - A new map. - Lugh spawning on turn 5 and not turn 2; giving you ample time to reach him. - A slight buff to soldiers to make them more durable. I'll post a full changelog in a bit... Whilst you wait for that, check out the brief notes on the further changes to chapter 1 and chapter 2... [spoiler=Change-log] Fire Emblem: Sword of Seals – Plus Change-log: Chapter 1 [Gameplay] - Changed the gift in the second village from a 'Quick sword' to a 'Cutlass'. [Misc.] - Tweaked Allen's palette. - Main campaign now utilises Eliwood's campaign as opposed to Lyn's campaign. Change-log: Chapter 2 [Gameplay] - Expanded the map, to include more aspects of the FE7 variant. - Moved the castle up one tile and changed the look to match the FE7 variant. - Added a commander mini-boss. - Added two enemies to occupy the new map space. - Moved Ellen's spawn point. - Fixed the archer's AI, by the castle. [story] - Tweaked Ruden's battle quotes. [Misc.] - Provided individual character slots for each enemy class. - Inserted individual palettes for each enemy class of the 'bern' faction. Pink 0mega
Cool screens. I must say that this hack is looking great! I us to follow the original post, and was wondering if this died. I hope this projects turns out well and I can't wait to see all of the new features you planned to implement! I played CS:GO at a friend's and oh boy I can feel your pain xD
Matt Snow
I think the Bern knights pallet would look better with some gold/yellow in it.
Superluigi
I think the Bern knights pallet would look better with some gold/yellow in it. How about this... I dulled down the gold quite a lot since the arm looks really funky in bright yellow.

Arch
- Provided individual character slots for each enemy class.- Inserted individual palettes for each enemy class of the 'bern' faction. For each enemy class? Are you sure you aren't gonna run out? I do generic palettes in EN, but have character slots for "sets" of classes that share palettes. I don't have much to worry about (13-chapter game), but for someone putting on a full-length project, I could imagine this being a pretty big potential problem. Read this. Kitty of Time has some good documentation on this.

Kitty of Time has some good documentation on this. Don't worry, I've already calculated how many slots I need and how many palettes I need to create; I actually I have quite a few character and palette slots left over. Some factions share palettes ATM to save space, like Laus, Thria and Ostia. Bandits's and Pirates also share palettes. Not only that but factions have a very limited class roster, like Ilia, Lycia and Sacae. Hell, Ilia only uses Peg. Knights and Falc. Knights. The only major factions are Bern and Etruria, but even they don't use every class on the class roster. Anyway thanks for the link, I've already started optimising palette distribution in the game. So I can probably add more class variation to each map, or even make separate palettes for each territory in Lycia. Back to the drawing board... deranger
But Bern is reddd. And not just because of generic palettes. Isn't Etruria Purple? Yay progress
Arch
I've always imagined Bern being purple, with Etruria as light bluish color. Viva la progess!

Sort of the same thing o 3o Also, you could change generic palettes to work as another faction as well, without having to make separate class slots. Superluigi
For anyone interested here is a list of all the palettes in game, pre-optimisation. A lot of the palettes were not actually going to be used, but with optimisation there should be ample space for even more generic palettes. Hidden in spoiler tags, because of size. Dark Sage
Personally I wouldn't even worry about palettes until like, after you've got the maps and shit made and the game is in a playable state. Basically, save the palette work when adding on the finishing touches because they're the least important part of the game. Then again, I don't hack ROMs so what do I know. Very true, although it's important to ensure you've planned out how you will be arranging all data early on so that you are not faffing around later on. Very little of the palette work has been inserted, it's just been planned out to ensure that I had enough slots for each faction. However with the optimisation suggested by Arch I should be able to increase the amount of slots available sevenfold.

Superluigi
Weekly Friday Saturday update time again... Chapter 4 is well on the way to receiving a nice overhaul. In the last release chapter 4 had a slightly expanded story giving Erik a larger role. Chapter 4 has now had it's story expanded even further giving Erik a little more character development along with a few nice throw backs to FE7. Now off to play Black Mesa Source... bye! Nanami Touko
omg Bors's palette I want to make love to it. I used to always use him in FE6, but now oh my god he shall remain a golden tower of awesome forever. You're doing a really great job, SL. God I want you to finish this so I can LP it with my buds.
