Where are you planning on cutting down on turns? The turn counts are extremely lenient, true, but you will eventually have to go a bit faster than this.

Basically all of the 2nd Gen. That whole Gen can be beaten in less than 100 turns don't you know.

while that is true, i doubt you'll get a whole lot of exp on some units since it pretty much involves leaf and Celice doing their thing and hitting level 30 way before everyone else and continuing to kill stuff while not getting exp

there's a TON of enemies in gen 2 though, so you might be ok.

There are more than a few knights that Azel can kill in chapters 2 and 3 and he can at least chip stuff all around. He also gets a horse and can use the Hero Sword on promo. And has Pursuit.

Seriously, I've never had trouble with Azel, but Ardan is another story. Even the one time I tried to seriously use Ardan, Azel did slightly better than him.

Worse comes to worse, you only have to get him to level 14 and can feed him civilians in chapter 4.

But yeah your turn counts seem abominably high. Like even assuming you can do it pretty fast for Gen 2, you still have some units like Lester or Leen or Patty who aren't going to be getting a whole lot of levels. Maybe if you had Holyn Patty i'd think she could do stuff before promo, but the fact you need to go so fast makes me question whether you can go fast while getting the people who are lagging behind enough levels.

Well, the good thing about patty is that the sleep sword can help her pass some pretty ridiculous arena fights. Even without rng abuse you can just have her spam fights losing until she gets a lucky sleep trigger. Plus, the great thing about dew patty is that with bargain she can buy and sell elite without losing money. Not everyone has such helpful gimmicks though. How viable it will be to get sufficient amounts of experience in the second generation all depends on how many people can get maxed out in the first generation. I feel that if you plan on going so fast in the second generation it might be useful to level Azel in all the time you're taking, though I'll wait and see how everything turns out. At least all the super high kill weapons might make bad units slightly more useful.

Ok then, Chapter 4 is is now here!

Chapter 4: 30 Turns

Ah, this chapter...man, what a sigh of RELIEF :): !! No more micromanaging like, 7 different people at once, no more speeding the cursor across the entire map, no more having to constantly check the Unit List to see if I missed anyone...NOPE! It's just one big march to one place, and then another march to another place, and that's it! Simple! So simple! Sigh :D: ...anyways.

Zaxon: 13 Turns

Obviously I cleared the Arena with everyone I could do it with on Turn 1, although some of them either didn't have enough money to buy the Elite Ring (Bridget, Holyn, Dew, and Jamka), or were too weak (Midir, Azel, and maybe Lex, although he almost managed it), or were Sigurd, who should never clear out the entire Arena all at once. And once that was done, I had Aideen get some Arena money to give to Midir, so that he could buy the Elite Ring and the Killer Bow. And once that was done, I gave Lachesis the Silver Blade, and sent out the troops.

Basically, I sent out Briggid and Dew so that they could lower the bridge while getting lover points, Jamka so that he could get money from the villages, Midir so that he could become fast enough to double Sangor (this took 3 levels with rigged Spd growths to accomplish), Lachesis to help kill some bandits, and use Libro and Warp as needed on Sigurd and Co., Lex and Sylvia to both help the group along and build lover points, and finally, Slim Sword!Fury to rescue the northeast village pictured here...

I know that sounds somewhat complicated, but again, the path was pretty linear, so it was actually pleasantly relaxing. And of course, once Midir got back, I had some other guys clear it before having Sylvia buy it. Oh yeah, and Sigurd also took a slight detour in order to kill the squad of Pegasi Knights with his Hero Sword (more kills that way).

Zaxon: 30 Turns

Yeah, I know Silesia is technically a castle we claim as well, but...you get it so quickly and easily, that it's like, "why bother counting it"? Anyways, with that Elite Ring of hers, Sylvia kept on spamming Dance while clearing the Arena, and actually managed to gain a ton of levels that way. But, what was MOST pleasantly surprising, was none other than...Azel.

Yes, Azel...So, remember how I talked about how that dude was completely useless as the like? Well, turns out, I was wrong to write him off! Because, after giving him all the Civilians, lending him Tiltyu's money, and giving him the Wind tome, the guy actually started really mopping up! I mean, he wasn't amazing, and I still had to burn some RN's to get him past some of the fights, but, yeah, the guy actually managed to clear the entire Arena! I managed to actually make a MAN out of him!...

Yeah, turns out things get a lot easier when you're using tomes that don't completely destroy your speed, right? Kind of amazing how much of a difference that makes...

So yeah, other than that, not much else to talk about. One thing I'm kind of bummed about was that there really wasn't any convenient opportunities to kill Pamela's squad, as it seems like they really prioritize going to a certain destination rather than actually going out of their way to fight people. Kind of a bummer, that...but oh well.

One thing I will say though, this is definitely around where an AAAA ranked run REALLY starts getting fun, because now everyone is promoting, getting new skills, aren't having financial difficulties anymore, and are overall just really starting to take off in how strong they are. I mean heck, literally every single person besides Lex managed to clear the Arena this time!

I mean, part of that may just be due to this Arena actually being somewhat easier than the last one (no Dark Magic user to completely destroy your magic users, no really strong Hero Lance users to completely destroy your sword users, promotion gains that pump up your units to stratospheric heights, the Tier 6 Opponent being a fricken AXE USER of all things, etc...), but still, it's all pretty cool! In fact, while we're on the subject...here's where everyone stands...

And now...the day of reckoning. Where Sigurd...is served his doom.

Chapter 5: 22 Turns

Lubeck: 6 Turns

Ergh...this day was a little more frustrating than the last chapter unfortunately, just because there's so many little things to think about. Like, how much money should Aideen get, what exactly should she hand down to her daughter, what's the best way of getting those villages, etc. Also, really starting to wish I had gotten that Prayer Ring from Papilion in Chapter 3, but, oh well, Lachesis and her Libro staff still did me well.

One other thing decision I made in addition was to buy a Knight Ring for Sigurd while selling the Barrier Ring. Though, I'm not sure that was the best decision since, just from what I've seen of Chapter 6, the Knight Ring didn't really save a ton of tons...but oh well. Anyways, as to what I did for this Chapter...

Basically, I got everyone through the Arena except Sylvia, Midir, Claude, and Jamka, and also got Midir some levels with the Elite Ring since he was a little too slow for the Arena (again, I had to rig some Spd levels for some opponents). Also, I wanted a ton of money for Aideen to get stuff, so sending Midir out also made it so that I could collect the Villages.

Finally, after that all was settled, I gave Fury a Silver Sword, had her give all her Gold to Levin for Warp Staff money, and had her rescue the closest village to the next castle. And with that, I sent Sigurd on his merry way to completely destroy everything (yes, even Langbart...Sigurd was literally taking off more than half his health with every critical from the Hero Sword :D: !). Also, Lachesis accompanied him so that she could heal him up with the Libro Staff.

Phinora: 10 Turns

Nothing much to say here. Fury destroys the Sleep Staff users while Sigurd marches up to take Phinora. Also, at this point, Dew and Briggid are lovers, so they start throwing gold at each other to get Dew to Level 30 xD!

Velthomer: 22 Turns

First things first, Sigurd buys the Elite Ring, and puts that and the Knight Ring and Hero Sword in his Storage so that Celice will get it later. Now then...

For Magorn's gang, Azel just obliterated them all with a Wind tome, and some Charisma help from Lachesis. At this point, Fury also gets the Slim Sword so that she can aggro Reptor's group (though, looking back on it, it would've been better had she waited till Levin had caught up...but whatever, not restarting the whole Chapter just to save a few turns).

Anyways, so that all went smoothly, with Levin completely destroying Reptor. Also, for those not in the know of how children inherit Gold, they inherit 1/10 of the total amount that both of their parents have...so, deciding that that was a complete rip off, I had Holyn buy about 40,000G stuff so that Skahasa could get 20,000G from selling stuff in the next few chapters. To some extent, I did this with Aira as well, though I didn't get as much stuff with her since...

1) There wasn't a lot more expensive swords to buy for her.

2) Lakche is going to be paired with Johalva anyways, so, her Gold issues won't be as severe.

And on that note, I also had Midir buy the Bargain Ring and enough stuff for Lester to get the Elite Ring on Chapter 7. This is mainly because I worry for Lester's ability to clear the Arena since he doesn't have the insane skills that most of the Children are going to have, nor can he wield the Slim Sword. Finally, Dew and Briggid each get 40,000G worth of stuff so that Patty and Faval can also have their time in the Arena. And finally, Midir collect all of the villages so that Aideen could also buy a ton of staves for Lana. And...yeah, I think that's about it. And here are the stats!

Final Thoughts on Gen 1: Now, once I start this over...I believe, that if I have levels to spare, I'll try to see if I can get away with not leveling Noish or Midir, as Midir was kind of a pain to level up, and Noish can't really do anything that Ardan can't do. And in both of their cases, they needed a lot more RNG rigging to get through the Arena than most of the others did, so that's a point against them. But other than that? I'm...feeling pretty good about what I did.

That makes sense. If anything though, it might be a good idea to put the light sword somewhere else and give the super high crit slim sword to Celice. A 100 kill slim sword should be good enough to let him quickly kill a lot of enemies, he could sell it off quickly, and someone else might want the much harder to pass around light sword.

A 100 kill slim sword should be good enough to let him quickly kill a lot of enemies, he could sell it off quickly, and someone else might want the much harder to pass around light sword.

Yeah, I thought of that too...but the Light Sword is actually kind of handy for Celice to have around, even if it's not strictly necessary. Plus, there's those Lopt guys in Chapter 7, so it's good for them as well. And I don't believe Leaf really needs it either, but...Anyways, onto Chapter 6...

Chapter 6: 22 Turns

Ganeshire: 10 Turns

Pretty straightforward I believe. Pairing Lana up with Skasaha just so you know. Anyways, Lana Warped Celice back to base so that he could get his Elite Ring, Knight Ring, Light Sword, Hero Sword, and Stat Rings, and from there, Celice destroyed everything in his path (including that bandit near Ganeshire) while everyone else just followed along.

Isaac: 17 Turns

Firstly, I had Celice put away his Defense Ring so that all those Hand Axe Knights wouldn't just ignore him. Other than that, this one was actually a little more interesting, if only because I figured out how to use the Jealousy System to make Skasaha and Lana fall in love faster. See, if you make this formation involving Julia and Lakche...

In fact, now that I think about it, does anyone want to figure out who has priority over who in the 2nd Gen? If so, I could tell you exactly how to figure it out via Snesx! Just ask me, and I'll tell you!

Anyways though, other than that, it's more of the same. Arthur marched down towards Danan, Fee rescued the two east villages with her Slim Sword, Tristan got the northeast village, and Julia walked towards Skasaha and his group. Had them bait out Johalva's group like so...

And yeah, that was that. In case you're wondering why I recruited Johalva rather than Johan, it's because he does much better in the Arena, ESPECIALLY once he promotes, and is able to use the Hero Bow. Oh yes, and I'm pairing Lakche with him, just so you know.

And here we go. Tristan got the southeast village with the Skill Ring, Julia got Resire, and as for Arthur well...

I agree on having the light sword on Celice too, there's quite a few enemies with 1-2 range, and Celice ORKO's a lot of them with just the magic ring and 2 magic or something, haha.

I think i'll get my gen 1 done tonight and post it when I finish up.

At the end of the chapter, deirdre killed sandima (the magic ring lets her clear the arena) and i Return/Warped everyone back to clear the arena that hadn't gone/needed some more stats.

Spent a good majority of the chapter after the bargain ring rush giving exp to those who really need it early, and then spent a lot of time spamming with Deirdre and Lachesis. Should have been 40 turns, but I forgot to get the bargain ring with Sylvia somehow and had to warp her up to get it again, haha.

~1.5-2.25 hours, i ate dinner somewhere in between and didn't track how long it took me to eat/wash up.

CHAPTER 3

35 turns ~1.5 hours


Sylvia was left at 2 hp by the myrmidon and 1 hp by the first darkmage, so that helped a lot in her arena ventures.

Dew bought the elite ring and light sword and sat in the forest and light sworded the cross knights, which almost gave him enough exp to promote, he got the rest in the arena. Elite ring got passed around a bit, and a few people promoted, most everyone will be promoted after the chapter 4 arena, I think.

Spent a few extra turns getting Dew's wind sword, I'm not worried about turns really though.

everyone cleared the arena pretty easily with the exception of sylvia, but she wasn't OHKO'd by any of the enemies so it was a matter of abusing prayer by healing her up slowly in the base so she'd get knocked into prayer range properly.

oh yeah azel couldn't beat the last dude, but w/e.

got the defence sword and holsety too I guess. Not a lot happened in this chapter.

If my math is correct I have 14 levels on you, along with 15 turns. I don't have any weapons with 50 kills though, although I have a 45 kill steel sword, 46 kill light sword, 39 kill silver sword, another 33 kill steel sword, and 38 kills on the hero sword.

CHAPTER 1

33 TURN CLEAR ~1 hour 20 minutes with a restart when Dew died to the captain -_-

Gandolf's castle spawned another wave of fighters, other than that, no reinforcement grinding.

Ardan even got to kill gandolf!

At the end of the chapter, deirdre killed sandima (the magic ring lets her clear the arena) and i Return/Warped everyone back to clear the arena that hadn't gone/needed some more stats.

the "A" in the unit stats is now for arena.

Spent a good majority of the chapter after the bargain ring rush giving exp to those who really need it early, and then spent a lot of time spamming with Deirdre and Lachesis. Should have been 40 turns, but I forgot to get the bargain ring with Sylvia somehow and had to warp her up to get it again, haha.

~1.5-2.25 hours, i ate dinner somewhere in between and didn't track how long it took me to eat/wash up.

CHAPTER 3

35 turns ~1.5 hours

Sylvia was left at 2 hp by the myrmidon and 1 hp by the first darkmage, so that helped a lot in her arena ventures.

Dew bought the elite ring and light sword and sat in the forest and light sworded the cross knights, which almost gave him enough exp to promote, he got the rest in the arena. Elite ring got passed around a bit, and a few people promoted, most everyone will be promoted after the chapter 4 arena, I think.

Spent a few extra turns getting Dew's wind sword, I'm not worried about turns really though.

everyone cleared the arena pretty easily with the exception of sylvia, but she wasn't OHKO'd by any of the enemies so it was a matter of abusing prayer by healing her up slowly in the base so she'd get knocked into prayer range properly.

oh yeah azel couldn't beat the last dude, but w/e.

got the defence sword and holsety too I guess. Not a lot happened in this chapter.

If a character inherits the same type of weapon as they start with, the starting weapon does not spawn ever. You can circumvent this by puting the inhereted weapon in storage, which bypasses the check. (it goes to the kid's inventory directly anyway). By my calulation You are missing out on a wind tome, two iron blades, and a slim lance. Also, why does tiltyu have relive? she can't pass it down, but aideen can, which gives lana the ability to sell it to get desperatetly needed money. Also, Lex should sell his axes unless his money is maxed out, and puying up pass-downable weapons to effectively gives 1/2 of their value to one kid instead of 1/10 each to both kids. FinordeQuester is missing a wind tome as well. Also, he did not list inheretence for aria, her husband, or tiltyu. (unless they had blank inventories, but that would be rather odd.)

Wow, you did pretty well Horace! Now to be clear, those times, are they with, or without fast forward? If they are with fast forward, what speed did you use, and when? Did you only use it during enemy phases, or did you also do it when clearing the Arenas?

Lex's Money was maxed

Tiltyu had relive since she needed it to hit level 30, and honestly Lana doesn't have too much of an issue with money, especially since Midir's money was capped, so she's starting with over 7000. But you're right, I could have stuck Relive on her, Aideen still had money to purchase it.

I used fastforward on some enemy phases and all arenas.

Cool. Unfortunately, I can't really use the times that you've provided...which is ok, since you did exactly as I asked. So, instead, I'm going to manually record how long each chapter takes. That way we can have some good numbers, you know?

I would not fastforward the arena's and such but it really takes far to long for my liking, sadly enough.

I'm just going for a generic AAAA run anyhow as kind of a basis of a normal one to compare yours to anyhow, since i'm not doing anything out of the ordinary like you are, just to compare them.

But like this, you will never be able to obtain the second wind tome, whereas simply puting the inhereted one in storage during chapter 5 makes arthur start with 2. Same with latchke, ulster and fee.
