saisymbolic
I hope they use the other male protagonists. I always had a special place in my heart for Brendan; I was upset when his only role was a brief cameo during one of the movie's introductions. Destiny Deoxys, I think it was. At any rate, I'm more interested in Looker and Team Plasma (specifically Cyrus) than I am Blue's E4 battles. We all know he got bodied literally minutes after becoming champion, so...yeah. I'm still going to watch all the episodes, though. Three to five minutes is perfect for me as I have a terribly short attention span. Thane
Pretty lackluster, especially Giovanni; he didn't need to say anything, instead he pretty much goes against the games and Origins, doesn't he? Oh well.
Magical Glace
Looker is so badass here. I'm so used to the clumsy/goofy interpretation of his character Special uses, it's actually pretty refreshing. Also Pikachu's voice was cuter than usual. Oh well. Actually, I think this is in line with the canon of the games. In the original RBY games, Giovanni says that's he'll devote his life to studing Pokemon, but this was changed in FRLG to say he'll go back to training. There's a special Celebi event in HGSS which shows that Giovanni was planning to respond to TR's radio signal before being beaten again. In fact, his outfit in the animation is the same as his HGSS sprite. Edited September 16, 2016 by Shuuda
VeryAngryBisharp
Yep this is games canon.
The Draco Knight
Episode 1 was quite nostalgic with all the various regions being shown. Episode 2 was really cool: It shows that the International Agency of looker is an actual agency and...It makes me want a game based on it. If memory serves, he was very conflicted about returning to Team Rocket in that event - few people have also seen it. I always liked to think Giovanni had a more interesting side to him than just thinking he owns all the Pokémon in the entire world; his Origins' counterpart made it clear he rediscovered his love for battling while the Giovanni in Pokémon Adventures even wrote a book for how to train Ground type Pokémon - this just feels like an unnecessary step back which could've been solved by him not opening his mouth. Well, here are some direct quotes from the HGSS event: Taken from Bulbapedia. "You have a certain look... It reminds me of the kid who stood in front of me three years ago... You have the same eyes... I'm on my way to Goldenrod City to answer the call and join my team. Are you going to get in my way?" "My old associates need me... We will not repeat the failure of three years ago! Team Rocket will be born again, and I will rule the world!" Doesn't sound too conflicted to me. Yeah, it's not the direction I would've written things but that's the canon of the games now, like it or lump it. However, I'm baffled they'd go this direction after having painted Giovanni in a more ambiguous light in his other appearances throughout the years. Refa
Speaking of in game appearances, I remember Looker being a lot more eccentric in Pokemon Platinum. In this, he just seemed like a generic detective. They were both okay for what they were. Nothing too exciting, although the animation was nice at least. Also, I was hoping the first video would end with Palossand eating Pikachu. Edited September 16, 2016 by Refa
Anacybele
Those were okay. I liked seeing the regions in the first episode, but I felt it was too random. And even though it fits a mouse, I don't think I can get used to that squeaky Pikachu voice after hearing a totally different one in the anime for years. Looker still seems as awesome as ever though. ^^
blah the Prussian
Sigh. I hate Team Rocket as an ideologically driven organization. They were so much better as just the Mafia.
Roflolxp54
Episode 1: pretty hype especially since it's to represent how longtime Pokemon fans pick up a main series game from each generation, especially for fans who started in 1996 (Japanese Red and Green) or 1998 (Red and Blue) Episode 2: some neat details: Celadon Game Corner actually looks like a fancy casino and liked how the Magnemite is used to break the passcode door. henrymidfields
I also like how the police would use Pokémon in Episode 2. It actually gave me some idea of how a possible Fire Emblem x Pokémon fanfic could use this scene as a castle infilteration. Konnor97
Episode 3 has been released. Lance's voice actor is bothering me because his name is at the tip of my tongue. Edited September 23, 2016 by Konnor97
Honey Bunny
Why do all of the Elite Four seem mildly evil? Not even in a cool antagonist sort of way, more like in a petty Dr.Doofenschmirtz sort of way.
Anacybele
I didn't like this at all. They made the E4 sound completely evil. :/

Nym
Come on, I know 4 battles might be a lot, but at least show us the battle against the Elite 4 leader.
saisymbolic
I wouldn't call them evil. I took it as them trying to be intimidating—they are the top trainers in Kanto. If I were a top trainer, I would too hold myself in a certain assertive manner to let the challenger know that, "Me and my 'mons can kick your ass up and down this stadium, newb. Don't think this is a game." At any rate, we could have skipped Blue. He loses his title literally minutes after gaining it lol Edited September 23, 2016 by SaiSymbolic
Acacia Sgt
Evil? To me it looked more like they were simply taking it quite seriously that they were being challenged. Being the E4 means they are meant to be the best of the best of the region, and it is mentioned it was the first time in a long while since someone got all 8 badges. Or perhaps its a small nod to the manga where they were indeed evil... *shrugs* But to me, it still didn't looked like that. Jedi
Didn't get an evil vibe more of an "elite" vibe, as well they are supposed to be the best of the best afterall. I wish these were longer, the animation is so nice I'd rather get like full length battles for like a 25min episode or something. Truly thats my biggest gripe with this "series" is that all these short stories would be much better padded out into full length episodes, rather than segmented bite sized pieces that can barely be appreciated. Quintessence
Good vid. I'd love a full battle for each of them, and not be: > challenger appears > rekt
Water Mage
The battles were short, but I liked. Thte voice acting is amazing. I particulary loved Lorelei's voice. Episode 3 has been released. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktskEn5q7gg Lance's voice actor is bothering me because his name is at the tip of my tongue. I'm pretty sure it's Ben Diskin. He voiced Saizo, Jakob and Hayato in Fates.
