Also, if Lugaru is anything to go by, countering a sword while unarmed is very easy (although that's largely for balancing reasons in the game). No joke, the first time I played the game on a friends computer, there was solid three or five minutes of my friend and I attacking an enemy with a sword, him countering the attack and stealing the weapon, then he attacked us while we countered, getting our weapon back, repeat the process for a few minutes. (The last one mostly applies to only Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.) As a fanfic writer myself, I try to avoid doing these things. Oh, and to add to my answer, also because HP fanfics are often too repetitive and the Naruto fans attempt to anschluss literally every single other fandom on fanfiction.net.
