Each needs to be judged on their own merit. For FE and shotas for instance, Rolf, Tormod, Raigh, and Lugh are fairly well-written characters. While Ewan, Ross, and Jubelo are all not bad, but lackluster. They're there, but don't really do anything standout. Then Caipre is even worse due to lolGenealogy Gen 2 variable child characterization that isn't like Tine and that's it. As for lolis I don't pay much attention to them in FE, but I've a range of thoughts on them. In the Tales franchise alone.: I liked Symphonia's Presea when I myself was an adolescent and well before I ever heard of the term "loli". B/c child existentially afraid of death and depressed by the passing of time is something. Elize of Xillia is a rather middle-of-the-road loli. I have neither strong feelings for or against her. Overall however, she is pleasant, and a net positive in the cast. Patty from Vesperia started charming, but she doesn't have that much to personality or that much variety in her quips, which meant she eventually stagnated into a mediocre character after a delightfully whimsy first impression. Sophie from Tales of Graces is a supremely dull and forced loli. And then there is Abyss and... Anise.🤦♀️🤦♂️ Also from Tales, Genis is a well-written shota, but then I was one when I first met him, that might be bias, as it is bias from being my first major JRPG (excluding Pokemon and Paper Mario). While Karol is not the total brat that some hate him as, but I'm not quite sure in my thoughts on him. It’s such an irrelevant little group of side characters that the writers didn’t have to put any effort into, but they did and their scenes are pretty charming and entertaining as a result.
