One of the many things I like about FE6. Who promoted?

Rutgod. He has 71 crit with a killing edge... do brigands also promote with hero crests?

Basically everything promotes with hero crests...

Sword or axe users all use hero's crests, bow units use Orion's bolts, Mages/Healers use Guiding ring, Knights and cavs use Knight's crests.

There are not enough hero crests for this...

On a completely unrelated note, Geese looks very handsome. Makes me wonder what happened with Geitz xD

Believe me, the problem is the mages. There's one Guiding Ring that's easy enough to get, in Ostia. For the second one, you have to move a specific unit to a specific spot in the desert chapter (no, regular thieves don't work). Third one? Chapter 18/20, depending on the route. By that point, all your units should have been promoted for a couple chapters at the very least.

There's two rings you can get within a reasonable timeframe for a whopping eight units that require it. What, you want to have one user for all three of the magic types? Sorry, gotta visit the chapter 16 secret shop! Can't make up your mind which of the mages you like best? Chapter 16 secret shop! Missed the desert ring? You get the point. It's terrible, terrible I tell you.

Oh yeah, his design is top notch. Shame about his performance as a unit.

Like a specific character? Who?

Hey now, Brunnya in chapter 23 also has one, doesn't she? Best time to promote, the CHAPTER BEFORE THE GAME HECKING ENDS.

And Zephiel coming up clutch with a hero crest in 22. Nice.

In all seriousness, that is one thing that the remake really should change.

Sophia. She automatically finds it when she gets near the sieze point.

He's actually okay, at least on NM. Extremely well-rounded base stats that are all just a tad low, and overall quite good growths-He's a bit like Gonzales but less of a glass cannon and more well-rounded. Still got good speed and strength, but not quite Gonzy-tier.

As Benice said, Sophia. You may've heard of her - she's that famous. Or, well... more like infamous, seeing as she's a strong contender for the worst unit in the game. She joins in the desert chapter and gets one-shot by everything on the map. You have to escort her all the way to the area around the seize point. Then she gets the ring. Nobody else can get it. Have fun with that. Alternatively, have fun with a single promoted magic user until chapter 16! Thanks a lot, FE6.

The best time to join as well!

I wasn’t planning on using him, but thanks anyway!

I’ve heard of Cecilia being like that, sort of.

Cecilia has an unfortunate join chapter (horse rider in the desert? Really, IntSys?), but she's an excellent staffbot with 8 movement that requires no investment and has passable magic chip on top of the staff utility. Especially noteworthy is her ability to use aircalibur at base, allowing her to be pretty effective against wyverns (from a safe distance, of course). She won't be your best unit, but she's vastly underrated, I feel.

Oh I forgot to mention, Lilina procced speed!

I think I’m going to use that other guiding ring on Clarine (rip Saul) because she should be level 20 at that point and she’s like 3~ points blessed in magic

Ah, yes, Clarine. Clarine and Rutger. Possibly my two most hated characters in Fire Emblem.

...Just felt like pointing that out. Don't mind me, carry on.

She makes for an amazing Valkyrie. Great choice. Also very good at dodgetanking.

Eh Clarine was funny when she was on screen and I really really like troubadours.

....I’m only using Rutger because I have a feeling I will need him in Sacae....

You hate Rutger? You must struggle in FE6 runs, then! XD

You know that ironman run where I lost 36 units that I keep mentioning? I sacrificed Rutger in chapter 7.

Legance and Henning took 100 turns each. I lost every single swordsman in the game and had to give Durandal to my extremely RNG-blessed Marcus. And you know what? It was aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall worth it, because I got to see the edgy dipshit bleed. I'd do it all over again. Hah!

Reminds me of my own hatred for a certain blue-haired witch with a capital B from a certain FE game I hate, as well six other members of that f***ed up family.
If only these abominations could be permanently killed off... if only... that game would instantly improve by about 25%, even!

*cough*
Excuse the vitriol.

---

In any case, I finally got the levels I needed on my characters in Etrian Odyssey Untold 2.
I let them rest, too, because I wanted to redistribute my skill points. Do I feel ready to take on the next boss?
Heck, no! But that's half the fun, isn't it? XD

Ngl, the only family I could think with more than six member AND with someone with blue hair, assuming we stretch the definition and count technicalities... are the Greil Mercs.

... but they hardly fit his descriptions...

Well, in Rutger's case it just pisses me off that the horrendously unlikeable edgelord is the best unit in the game. Why must it always be like that? Why can't the top tier unit be someone I like?

Clarine, though... Clarine strikes me as the kind of person I would despise in real life. Arrogant, conceited, spoiled, self-aggrandizing, an overall bully... I think the only scene where she wasn't making me angry was her first one with Narcian. And that's only because Narcian is an even bigger piece of crap.

Reminds me that I haven’t played that many FEs xD (unless you’re talking about Azura and company, in which case, which family?)

I mean, I've played all of them except Awakening, Fates and Genealogy (also the NES games, but I've played the remakes of those), and I don't know what he's talking about either. So don't feel too bad about it.
