Or to be more exact, when you have these "small battles" akin to normal RPGs rather than SRPGs. Combines the tedium of SRPGs with the number of battles of RPGs. It's also one of my problems with SoV and it's dungeon sections. Gets boring fast, since the battles don't end as fast normal RPG battles tend to.

Not a deal breaker, but can be a bit annoying.

Not like i have anything against explorations in SRPGs - some do it well. There's a demo of a game called Dream Tactics (try it, it's cool) on steam, where it does exploration, but instead of "Mob" battles it does have more "SRPG" battles - even if they are usually smaller (but not mob like, more akin to early game FE maps) until the last ones in the section where they are longer and bigger.

but the should explode on the enemy - hence the need for turning the nukelolis on

This is why I can't get into FEs that are too easy and/or have map design that's too simple. Because at that point, the SRPG devolves into the same trite "press A on menus over and over until you win" cycle that JRPGs do, while also taking even longer.

There are 6 A rank dishes and Ruby hates 3 of them. Such a picky eater.

She is doing better with B ranks, at least. Liking Stuffat Tal-Fenek is nice. Vantage from someone with her potential for high weapon ranks can be quite fun. Always love it when I have it available in chapter 8.

Okay, time for some more SRW V. With the Yamato back, two more DLC scenarios have unlocked.

Unsurprisingly, it's more flashback events... I think all DLC maps are, at the end of the day. So anyway, one of them is a trip back to Arzenal on Jasmine's request, to escort a goods delivery to the base.

Oh, it's a defend map. Would've thought an actual transport ship NPC would've showed up and to be an escort objective. Well, fine either way.

If SRPGs can't strike the engaging gameplay zone, they become a snoozefest fast

And if they have mob battles it just becomes tedious

Okay, next map. The other one had some "Real Robot" focus with the Para-Mails and Gundam Team. Now this one seems more Super Robot oriented with Maightgaine and Zambot teams taking to the spotlight. Again Hoi Kow Lou, it seems.

Generally she's not that complicated. Relatively to other major female Fire Emblem characters she is very complicated.

Okay, Scenario 21.

Interesting, they raised the point that despite the 100 year difference, technology wise, both NCC and UC worlds are more similar. Specially the Gundams. Likely to explain how they and Kincade+Tobia can switch mechs around. As a side note, I'm reminded that the 13 year time skip in Armageddon was a literal one for Ryoma. He got sent thirteen years into the future. In a way, I can see why T and 30 ditched that, if they wanted the dynamic between Amuro, Koji, and him to work. Hmm...

Anyway, it's time to take the fight to the Martian Polar Cap Ruins! I still can't get over the ridiculously giant ♂ symbol on the Martian Successors uniforms... XD lol

Oh, NOW I can actually use the Tuatha de Dannan as an airborne unit. And wow, all four battleships get fielded. It is making the party look like a proper fleet.

Hmm, having played T's version of this battle, it's a bit weird to see V only have the Martian Successors here. T also had the Jupiter Empire, VOTOMs mooks, Yazan, and... I think there was another faction there too, but I forgot. No, wait, Jupiter Empire mooks didn't showed up here, but were allied with the Martian Successors.

Okay, the scenario still has things to spice it up, with first the dragons and then the Gardim (OG faction) show up.

And there's still Lapis and her Gravity Wave thing to come for sure...

Gardim are red units, but the dragons are... yellow-ish green? Hostile to both blue and red, anyway.

All the Hokushin's Six have retreat quotes. I don't think they did in T, and indeed, there was a sense of finality, or close to finality as the Martian Successors were finished, though Hokushin survived his canonical death, obviously intending to still show up later on. Here... hmm...
