Gullveig won, lol. I voted for her because I thought it'd be funny if she won and it is funny. I'm certainly picking her for my free summon, getting merges will depend on how good she is as 1st place winner tend to be not that great until their refine drops.

The reward stuff is ok, I'm glad for the floret as I needed one for Lumera. 

The Valentine's banner is a skip for me, Effie has the art I like the most for the banner and she's free. 

The summoning change is welcome, that'll make it less painful to get a unit to+10, although seasonal banners requiring Feh Pass is ugh.

Most things are as expected. The summoning change is nice, but limiting parts to Feh Pass is obnoxious. Arena change should make it more tolerable. No word on a Forma Soul.

The winners have much lower vote totals this time, likely due to votes no longer collecting on the top midterm placements this time. Corrin took 2nd place over Bernie by just 117 votes, and Robin took 1st place over Soren by just 350.

Felix/Byleth and Bernie are clear front-runners for future CYLs, with Sigurd/Alfonse and Robin/Azura/Hilda/Sharena in the next tier.

The highest-profile current omissions are, unsurprisingly, Touma+Cain and regular versions of Felix, Sylvain, Dorothea, and Ashe. After that, there's Severa, Cyril, Bruno, TMS Tiki, Maiko, Heidr, Caspar, Scarlet, Desaix (???), Leonie, Lorenz, Yashiro+Navarre, Grima, Lucia, Edward, and Tormod in the top 100. (With Mitama, Athos, and Stefan narrowly missing that cutoff.)

It looks like both of the recent leaks were accurate.

CYL results were not unexpected, though Gullveig placing first instead of second is surprising.

Valentine banner looks interesting with Hana as a fast 4-star armor. Fuzichoco returns to do another art for Sakura. Unless Elise is an absolute must-have, I can probably get away with just pulling one of each character and then going for a +10 Hana. Even if Elise is a must-have, I'll probably still skimp out and just pull for one or two copies tops.

 

New Arena mechanic is cool, though it probably won't make much of a difference for me. Basically, it just removes the need to fish for higher-scoring teams since you'll always get the highest score your team allows you to match against. Given, I have over a thousand Arena stamina restores, I'm not really in a position where fishing for score costs me anything of value other than time.

New demotes are always welcome.

Thrasir looks much more usable when controlled by a player since she no longer needs support or a C skill to supply the debuffs needed to activate her skill effects.

Peony now grants penalty nullification with her Dance skill, which is super useful for Aether Raids offense. She won't be dead weight anymore during her bonus seasons.

Focus Charge mechanic is pretty cool. Removing pity breakers after you get three in a row is pretty nice and prevents some of those really annoying situations where you're constantly pity broken instead of getting a focus unit.

 

Daisuke Izuka follows up his amazing Fomortiis art with another absolute banger of an anniversary artwork.

Nemesis sticking his tongue out and Thorr and Loki in casino? uniforms were not things I realized I needed in my life.

 WE ARE GETTING TIER 4 EXCLUSIVE SKILLS FOR HEALERS FINALLY!!!!! (that's a hell of a coincidence because I and @Ice Dragon mentioned how some suff for healers like effects on staffs and exclusive skills should work, in our opinions, just like 2 days ago in another thread...I was wishful for the time of healers to shine but I could never expect it to be THAT soon). Well, this is not exactly what we were saying, since we were mentioned mainly possible effects for staffs and passive skill, and what we're shown here seems to be Wrathful Staff 4, but I'm still very excited and curious to know what will be the additional effect here. (in case you don't know where it was mentioned: see when the show Sakura+Elise's stats and skills for a brief moment). I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE, START TO THROW MORE GOODIES FOR THE HEALERS, IS!!!!!

 

 Also, it turns out that the CYL leaks were true, huh? I wonder if this year the characters that got in 2nd place will get a Prf skill as last year (I hope so because Soren is behind Robin by only 350 votes! I'll be hella disapointed if he doesn't get an exclusive skill because of 350 votes).

NGL, I'm a little surprised about Gullvieg. I knew she was popular and would probably be Top 5, but to be in first place was a shock. Congrats on Robin winning though! Another win for Awakening! And congrats on Corrin too! I like most of her art in the game, so I'm excited to see how it turns out now. I hope Kozaki draws the Brave alt for at least one of the two, and I'm curious which he'll get permission for. Soren winning means that there will finally be a Brave Alt that I will actively not pull. Huh...

Looking forward, I think the next two years will probably be something like: 

2024: Diamant & Felix/Alcryst); Ivy & Bernadetta

2025: Sigurd & Alcryst/Felix (whoever doesn't win 2024); Timerra & Sharena/F!Alear

 

Overall, I'm not as excited about this year as last year, because the one person I wanted to win DID win, and now I'm just coasting. However, with Byleth winning CYL last year, and Robin and Corrin winning this year, Avatars aren't going anywhere. (Yes, this is an obvious thing to state, but I feel like it still should be stated.)

I'm very happy about the summoning changes, I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten several 5-star summons...and not a single one was a focus unit. I'm also okay with the Valentine banner, although I wish Sakura was the lead over Elise.

I am very happy that I predicted Peony's remix, with the Null Penalties status effect. Looks like Yune's dominance didn't last that much.

Oh, right. For the first time in ... perhaps ever, I have all the Hero Fest characters. Not only that, Idunn is borderline stalking me. I don't even know what I should pull. Should I pull blue for lols because Idunn's stalking me anyway, or green because my Eitri's nature is shit?

Personally the units I'm missing are Nailah/Mia/Sophia/Leila/Duma/Camilla (6/14), Karla/Delthea/Lillina/Cath/Lyn/Laegjarn/Ash (7/12), Maria/Dimitri/Eirika/Corrin/Cherche/Elm (6/14), and Xane/Micaiah/Nifl/Muspell/Askr (5/12, or 4/12 ignoring Xane). Blue has the best odds, but doesn't have the characters I care about as much. Hmm.

I would just save orbs. If you're talking about a free pull, I would go with Idunn for the Savior skill.

 Athos??? Gee... I didn't expect that at all. I mean, it's not like a GOOD place but for Athos it is (one more motive for me to be happy, I wonder if he'll get more visibility because of this?? who am I kidding, I think that this is not enough to give him visibility but since I'm not completely sure I'll keep my hopes high)

 I really, REALLY wanna see Gullveig drawn by Kozaki Yusuke because personally I don't like when the official art for the OCs have a very different style from the rest (which is the case in book IV and now book VII... The body proportions like eyes and neck size size are very different from the rest of the OCs, the characters have way more light and shadow and don't have that black contour that most of the other original arts for OCs have... In book VII it's worse than on book IV because in adition to this every girl had to be like Plumeria with scaringly giant tits + stockings that seem to be crushing their thighs (don't get me wrong, I like horny art but when they make some of the OCs look to different from the other it bothers me and I was specially bothered by Seidr and Gullveig because their designs are really cool so it felt like a waste somehow ... so yeah, I'd really like to see Gullveig drawn by Kozaki Yusuke)), but if any of the others is, it's totally fine by me as well. If Kita Senri drew one of the 4 too it'd be pretty cool (please Soren with Ragnell drawn by Kita Senri...).

Avatars aren't going anywhere??? What do you mean?! Wait for 2031 when Mark gets in top 20! (wait... Is Mark even ellegible? If he is I'm gonna vote for him for real next year cause... call me crazy if you want to, but I've always liked him a lot! And he has some very suspicious dialogue with hints on his backstory that won't ever be explained unless he gets into this game, also now that Soren won I don't have another voting target, besides Sharena I guess).

 

 About the Hero Fest, I still gotta decide between colorless and red. I'll decide this when the banner drops, probably...

Yeah, 15 tickets (that's the kind of banner that I don't even spend my orbs on)

 

 Also, it seems like this is the first Valentines banner that doesn't involve a dead dad? I really thought tha this year it was gonna be either 3H (because of Byleth and Jeralt) or FE4 (Seliph and Sigurd). Sure, it is about family, but looks like the dad dead theme is gone.

I do actually have enough Trait Fruit saved up to do two changes! But I'm saving those for characters I really like and/or use a lot, so Eitri's probably not in line for one. My Halloween m!Corrin has priority over everyone else right now because he puts in a lot of work for me and is -atk. I just haven't figured out what I want as his asset.

The leaks are real! That's incredible, BOTH of them were real! I loooove the winners of CYL this year, even if Gullveig is a bit weird. I guess people just casually tossing votes her way stacked up. Of course, the usual 6th anniversary rewards, but we also got some cool anti-pitybreaker measures now! That's a good change. I liked it, 8/10 FEH channel.

Bit of a damp squib of a FEH channel for me. Point-by-point:

- CYL is fine, but obviously the results were spoiled already and I had probably 95% confidence in the leak. Not being relevant for six months has always meant results were mostly of meme value instead of any genuine enthusiasm for the reveal.

- Login/quest rewards are overall fine but very up and down in terms of how many we get as compared to the item's usefulness.

- Grand Hero Party, eh, I don't think any of them are on my to-build list.

- The Hero Fest is as lukewarm as can be. But the cheapness of the spark means I'll probably do it anyway, and I can get some use out each of the units: Mareeta as fodder, Idunn for a Florete, Whatshername witch as a new unit, and Harmonic Lysithea to fix up my -Spd one since the Spd bane ruins her.

- Seasonal freebie - have to play the odds and pull green, or maaaaybe blue. I prefer the blue units slightly but am afraid of being burnt. Might depend on what I pull from Engage AHR before it expires, as well as who's likely to appear in the actual AHR, so the smart thing to do would be to hold off a little perhaps.

- New Valentine's banner is irrelevant as I can't afford to pull on it. Especially as they took away the tickets for it and just added them to the Hero Fest. Effie looks cool though, no Prf sadly.

- Update: demotions as expected. Arena changes are whatever. The summoning change ...eh, it might have helped me out like 2-3 times over the life of the game so far.
