Dunno what "aid" means. If you mean checking, the general rule for set-up checkers is that they should have more experience than (or a similar amount of experience to) the host, and you've only been around for a couple games. You can be an informed observor when it happens if you want, though.

Being as it's for 1337 members only, I'd appreciate IO-ing it, so I can see the gameplay from a new perspective, and be able to offer assistance in the future.

So in case I'm not around when it begins, Sure.

Requesting permission to host my game after Cornival Phantasm and Seven Force Mafia, since apparently "no one else is ready" and I'll need to know when my game's next ahead of time so that I can invite people (because it's ~invitational~).

Granted.

I'm not ready because Kaoz is being a lazy bastard and not checking my game.

I could just ignore him and balance altogether though.

EDIT 2: basically all I have to do still is write the rules and maybe get a more active co-host. The game could be up somewhere in the weekend.

I'm waiting until after Whispy's exams to host Chilean Musicians which isn't for another month now !!

But I need to start at a specific time in July, so keep that in mind I suppose

I agree the games checker list needs an overhaul. Most games that aren't Resistance I've run recently (in the last year) have been train wrecks, and the ones I've checked I've pretty much just gone 'yeah I don't see any problems'. I'm not sure what a good system would be in replacement but eh.

Also Resistance IV - spies

Edit: I put the resistance won, for reasons unfathomable to myself. Derp.

Also, I strongly disagree that breaking the rules for strategic reasons should be punished less. Rules are there as absolute don't do this walls to never be crossed. There shouldn't be cases where skirting over them gives you an advantage. If breaking a rule would give you an advantage, your team should be punished more severely (e.g. giving the mafia an extra nightkill or something in addition to you getting modkilled) AND you should get a temp ban.

For example, there was a game I was in run by Spoon, which had someone (Life I think) get himself modkilled to get me killed and some other stuff. It wasn't the fact I was killed by it that annoyed me, it was the fact that someone was breaking the rules and getting an advantage from it.

Edit 2: Please sign me up for a 9 man mini mafia - Mafia 2 of 4. As a forewarning, this game will likely be somewhat longer than a standard mafia here as I want to try and get a different flavour of mafia game (I'm talking two week deadlines for days - I want people to really understand just how valuable activity in days and talking can really be). It may also be run as invite only, if that's acceptable.

I sort of changed it to "generally don't be retarded about getting your game checked, there's absolutely no harm in getting someone else's opinion on your game"

ok

I agree personally, but I guess there's still people likely to freak out about it I guess? There's always the "don't give a damn, blacklist anyway" option but I'm not exactly trying to be a tyrant about it. Still, maybe like... still a penalty, just a less harsh one?

Sure.

I think that it should be up to the host whether or not they allow "strategic rulebreaking."

I also agree with you that it is BS.

This is part of the reason why I never specify punishments in my rules. It's harder to break rules to your advantage if you don't know how the host will respond to it.

that's why in MtG and upcoming Xenoblade my rules are overt threats of murder

I'm on an island, so any RL killings will have to be done by you.

Anyone opposed to me opening up a Resistance V game? I'd like to follow procedure for creating a game, if necessary.

Gonna reread the rules and setup a bit more before starting it up. Signups should be ready by say...2000 EST
