  1. I might join, but lemme ask about this stalling rule first: Any act of stalling is banned in Hypest tournaments, as the following actions essentially makes the game unplayable as unenjoyable. Some of these tactics included are limited to becoming invisible, chain grabs, jab infites, uninteruptible moves past 300%, circle camping, reaching a position that your opponent can never reach you, disappearing characters, etc. Any action that can prevent the game from continuing normally, such as pausing, and freezing glitches, will result in a forfeit of the player/party that initiated the stall. Please report stalling with a replay. I don't think I would do anything that would constitute "stalling" normally, but I don't want to end up in a situation where two players have a dispute over something that might be considered stalling. Does this mean you always need to go full aggro? If the clock is running out (like 30 seconds left) and you're ahead in percent and a kill is unlikely, the best option is essentially to stall, so is that not allowed? If it's not, how do you even enforce it? Some characters naturally play more keep-away as it is. Some of the examples listed are really strange (how does one "become invisible" without items? Chain grabs are essentially impossible in this game, and jab infinites usually lead to a kill or at least a strong attack. Circle camping shouldn't happen with a good stage list), and it makes me wonder why this rule is here in the first place.
  2. There were like two people who actually cared about their post count. Anyone who actually flaunted their post count got flamed for it. That's why I never really thought it was a problem here, but it's not really important, either. I only vaguely remember the dots, but I remember the member titles.
  3. This can mean different things, like licensing deals are harder, or that they like to be more hands-on with how the Pokemon are used, but the fact is that they themselves state that as far as which Pokemon get in, Sakurai chooses. I've only ever seen it speculated that Game Freak has any control over which Pokemon get in, never any proof, and people only even speculated because of Mewtwo's initial absence. But, well, yeah.
  4. I'm really feeling the R.O.B. up throw nerf. And it hurts. Ouch. Why the fuck did Ness get to keep his ridiculous back throw but R.O.B.'s up throw takes 20-30% more on average to kill?
  5. 8 is easy. 10 is reasonable. 12-15 is possible depending on which characters and how efficient you are at gaining experience. Laguz count as a promoted Beorc. That's all. And that means they're ultimately faster than an unpromoted Beorc. For getting the most out of BEXP, use: http://www.fireemblemwod.com/fe9/aprovechar-exp-de-la-base.htm It's in Spanish, but the top row is for most units, the second is for those with Paragon, and the last for those with Blossom. It tells you how much BEXP to feed incrementally at each level to save as much BEXP as possible. So if you're looking at a level 1, unpromoted unit without Paragon or Blossom, you'll want to feed them in increments of 4, resulting in using 75 BEXP instead of 85 for a full level up. Make use of free exp from staff users as much as possible (especially the Ashera Staff, which grants a full level up), steal a lot if using Volke and/or Sothe, and use all the turns you have for max BEXP to kill as many enemies as possible.
  6. It's risky and hard to land, but if you can, that's basically a guaranteed KO at 90%+. Did it stun for so long in Melee? I never really used Mewtwo.
  7. At this point I completely believe that the files are indeed in the game. What they mean...is another matter.
  8. This is a useless distinction as far as Smash Bros. is concerned. Young Link and Toon Link are the same in the same way Link from every installment is the same; no one says OoT Link was "cut" for TP Link. I'm pretty sure that's all Jotari was saying.
  9. Yes, it does matter, and if you think the situation for those characters is at all similar to Ephraim's, you need to get your head out of the clouds.
  10. If I thought current assist trophies were fair game, I would put Lyn in there, too. But I don't think any current assist trophies will be getting upgraded. There is a major difference between Ephraim and these characters. Robin: Recent. Pac-Man: He's fucking Pac-Man. And plenty of people actually were guessing he'd be in. Mii: Current, the obvious choice for customizable fighters. I said in my post that I think Roy doesn't make a lot of sense; I don't think he's coming back. Ephraim is from one 10-year-old game of a long (and live) running franchise where he wasn't even the primary protagonist (he co-starred).
  11. Mewtwo feels pretty cool. Definitely seems to have more kill options than before. If we're talking about a newcomer Fire Emblem rep as DLC, the only plausible candidates I can see are Anna, Kamui, or Aqua. Maybe Tiki as well, but I can't imagine how she'd actually fight. I don't think that Ryu/Roy thing is real. The characters themselves don't make a lot of sense, and after all the care they've put into not leaving extra files in the game, I can't imagine they'd slip up now. Ephraim is never happening unless Magvel gets a sequel.
  12. With the way they're going about this game, I can't imagine the special 3rd route will be a simple "join everyone up to fight a common enemy." That said, I can't really imagine how it will play out, either. I don't really see "take both out" as a likely option. More likely some way of ending the war from the sidelines.
  13. I didn't eat in the parking lot. I just wanted to check the receipt safely.
  14. My car gets me from place to place. I do not stay in it any longer than necessary.
  15. Quick opinion on new stuff I've started this season: Sound! Euphonium - I was in concert band but I cannot really relate to this, lol. Not that the show is bad. Wish Upon the Pleaides - Pikmin as magical girls. Mikagura School Suite - I think I will enjoy this one, but...that's all I can say for now. Ore Monogatari!! - Cute shoujo series about that giant comic relief guy you usually see in the background of other anime. Re-Kan! - Cute Girls Having Cute Interactions With Ghosts. You can tell that it's a cheap 4-koma adaptation. I've also heard good things about Plastic Memories and Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, but I'm not picking anything else up this season.
  16. I mean, I can understand why someone might be confused about Tsubaki's gender, but from the perspective of someone who consumes a lot of animated Japanese media, I'm 99% certain Tsubaki is a man. Yo, watch it. This is kind of sexist.
  17. To be completely fair, when she handed me the change, I wondered if I'd accidentally given her a 50. Obviously, I didn't want to give back $45 if I was actually owed that much. By the time I was thinking about it in the parking lot I was preeeetty certain it had been a 5, as it would otherwise mean I mistook a 50 for a 5 twice (when I was sorting my cash and when I got it out to pay), but a line had started building and I was hungry. For the record, I thought I had a 50 in my wallet (which is why I wondered at all if it actually had been a 50), but I don't. At least not now. I still have a 100, though. What if I had given her a 10?
  18. Hm, I didn't consider that. Lesson learned, I guess.
