  1. You and me both. I will get a Switch as soon as FE Warriors drops in the Fall. Here's hoping for a bundle.
  2. Nice that we're getting more characters so soon. Can't wait to hear Ephraim say "I don't pick fights I cannot win!" So thus far, in terms of the individual worlds we have the World of Mystery, World of Binding, World of Blazing, World of Awakening, World of Birthright, and World of Conquest. Once the rest come around, I assume their worlds will be named as follows, since they've been using game titles for them: World of Gaiden/World of Echoes/World of Valentia (hard to say at this point) World of Genealogy World of Thracia World of Sacred Stones World of Radiance World of Dawn World of TearRing I'd prefer Ephraim stay on foot, simply because he's the only lord to exclusively wield lances on foot.
  3. Just the first verse, I think sounds like this: I like "With favorites, ready, guard your side", as it alludes to the game's main premise of battling with your favorite heroes.
  4. Did any FE9 player ever complain about a unit like Ashnard among others suddenly joining the endgame team alive and well after beating it several times? I seriously doubt it. Recruiting dead characters from the main story has been a thing since the trial maps in The Binding Blade and Path of Radiance, and the Creature Campaign in The Sacred Stones. The only difference here is that Awakening tries to give some little story reason for them being there. It hardly matters since most if not everyone beat the endgame before recruiting these characters, which leaves them as simply extras like in the previously mentioned games. Besides, technically they're not part of the base game unless you consider Spotpass data to be such. So kindly calm the hell down. Turn of Spotpass for the game and don't summon the bonus maps, so it's like it never happened.
  5. Hmph, of course it's out while my sister's not home. We're gonna try it on her phone, 'cause mine is old and useless for anything other than texting and calling.
  6. Did anyone else notice that that Fire Emblem theme at the beginning of the direct (and later on) was actually being sung.... in English? Never thought I'd see the day. Pretty sure it was English, anyway. I couldn't quite make out the lyrics over Yuri Lowenthal's rather fitting voice. He did a fantastic job, btw. For our first FE Direct, that was excellent. I was not disappointed other than I don't have a New 3DS. I think I'd rather get a Switch anyway with Warriors and FE Switch 2018 on the way. My opinions on each game are in their respective threads.
  7. After that direct, ohhhhhh man this game, just.........wow! It looks better than I would've hoped. Recruiting and summoning heroes from previous is awesome enough, but holy crap, they... They. Have. ENGLISH VOICE ACTING!!!!!! For all these characters, in a mobile game, before FE Warriors has yet to confirm various lords, let alone dubbing. All those times I imagined to myself how they'd sound with voices, and now it's real. I love it! It's too good to be true... I know getting this hyped over voice acting and dubbing might seem ridiculous, but for this series I put it in high regard. Heroes was easily the best part of the direct for me, and dammit I need a new smartphone now! It is a wondrous time to be an Emblemier. :'D
  8. Who says the remake had to be called "Gaiden"? We can afford fancier titles like "Shadows of Valentia". At least Japan isn't calling it "Shin Gaiden/New Gaiden"
  9. While I would've preferred a Binding Blade remake, this is still really neat. I may very well skip out on Fates and pick this up. And the amiibo too. Speaking of which, they had said in the direct to "look forward for more upcoming info" concerning the amiibo. I predict FE might be getting its own series of amiibos, perhaps? For the lords anyway, there's otherwise way too many characters in the series to make amiibo for. I......I think you may be on to something there, Sully Boy. I kept my ears open. The dialog does indeed appear to be fully voice-acted, for the first time in the series. Very interesting. If it weren't for the grid-based gameplay we know and love, you might think FE was beginning to look like the Tales series. Make of that as you will.
  10. Hallelujah! The dream is coming to fruition. I'm as hyped for this as Joshscorcher was for Hyrule Warriors. In my mind, I too am hopping around the room making Daffy Duck noises. X) The roster? I've never played a Warriors game nor do I know how their roster development is handled, but I'm not particularly concerned. But my dream roster is like what many have listed already, especially Anacybele's (with the maybe's plus young Tiki): lords from all continents, some villains, and some original characters (maybe some from Cipher...? And mowing down armies with Zelgius as a costume for the Black Knight. Please and thank you.). This is what I hope to see from the final roster, nevermind what the base game may consist of. There's no reason to assume there will only be Archanea and Fates reps. Basing it on TMS and this new teaser is just ludicrous. I've got four words for you: Never trust a trailer. The teaser for TMS was nothing like the final product. Likewise in the FE Warriors teaser, seeing the orbs holding only recent regalia along with the classic Falchion is not an indication of anything. The disappointment of TMS's huge departure from its teaser is perfectly understandable, but then again, aren't there many teasers out there for movies and other games that resembled little to nothing like their final product? Teasers are made to hype us up. Nothing more. What happens after, only time will tell. I do hope all lords from each continent are represented in some form, not necessarily for the purpose of a larger roster, but so Fire Emblem Warriors could be a series-wide tribute, sort of like what Cipher's been doing. Since there's so sign of Cipher coming out here, this could be the series museum piece, if you will, for us Western gamers. And this time, PLEASE DUB IT! Sure I was disappointed TMS didn't get dubbed (no English-speaking young Tiki. Cry.), however FE Warriors must not pass up this opportunity to give several characters an English voice--or a voice at all--for the first time. Roy, anyone? He's long overdue. I've always wondered how Eliwood and Hector, among others, would sound voiced. Lyn's voice in Smash was...well it's not what I would've chosen but it was ok. ...And I just learned we're getting a Fire Emblem direct in a few days. Can I say how awesome it is to finally hear that? If memory serves, we've never had a Fire Emblem-focused direct before.
  11. It has always surprised me that Eckesachs has 3 less might than the Sword of Seals, when the former in blade form is nearly zweihander levels of huge, such that it makes the latter look puny by comparison. Yet, 15 Mt versus 18 Mt. The Sword of Seals is as strong as Ragnell (I'm talking its FE9/10 stats, not the worn-down Awakening version), and even has better hit and crit. No wonder Roy hits as hard as Ike in Smash 4.
  12. Well it's about dang time, Nintendo! Why did it take so long for the US Virtual Console release? It's as if they wanted the release dates to reflect how long it takes to localize an FE game. What's more, we get it 1 1/2 years after Europe. Just...what the heck? Granted, they originally got it before the US anyway, but geez! Can't say Nintnedo doesn't care about Europe. Well, at least this'll save me the trouble of looking and hoping to find a physical copy at Gamestop or whatever.
  13. Ever since I made a SoulCalibur IV custom character of Roy (which I got from the vid below), I can't see anyone but Yuri Lowenthal voicing him. That pitch should be easy enough for him to reach. And hey, he voices Marth too. https://youtu.be/Gv1CrqfMShk?t=1m50s
  14. Class: Marshall (most proficient in swords). I'd much prefer all that nice armor since in real life my small, scrawny stature would make me more fit as a Swordmaster Affinity: Ice, as I'm a November baby. Quotes: It's the whole shebang here. Quotes for every category. Here we go... *Deep breath* Dual Support quotes: "You better be ready." "Here's another." "What have we here...?" Dual Strike quotes: "Try this!" "An opening!" "I'll take this one!" Dual Guard quotes: "I don't think so." "Uh-uh." "Ridiculous..." Critical Hit quotes: "No excuses!" "Let's see you dodge this!" "Hope you like mincemeat." "Better start writing your epitaph." Victory quotes: "I just had more drive than you." "Well, that's that." "That's another one for me." "That's the best you could do?" Dual Strike victory/Healed quotes: "Hmm, very good." "Your assistance is appreciated." "Save some for the rest of us!" (not said when healed) Death quotes: (voice) "Augh! It's over for me..." (Classic mode) "Ngh... damn it! Was this really all I could muster!? Unbelievable..." (Casual mode) "Ngh... I'm on my last legs. This is ridiculous! ...Alright. I must get to safety and recuperate. Sorry guys..."
  15. 1. Wreck-It Ralph 2. Treasure Planet ( I love this underrated gem) Dunno how I'd rate the rest. There's several I haven't watched in ages, and most of the VHS are boxed away as we gradually replace them with DVD's.
  16. Since I'm such a broken record, Zelgius in Radiant Dawn. As above, they could've pulled a Pelleas with him and let him survive to join for the rest of the endgame on subsequent playthroughs.
  17. If we should have yet another Avatar, it should be fully customizable; down to the attire, hair color, face, blood type like in Japanese FE7, everything, almost akin to making an MMO character, so we can truly make the Avatar our own. Maybe friends could form armies together with their Avatar units... I've been hoping for an FE with customization to such extent for the Avatar since its debut in FE12. Surely it could work out better than the predefined Avatars we've had thus far.
  18. Binding Blade. Marth got the localization treatment and finally got an English voice. It's Roy's turn to be in that limelight. I'd be down for remaking any of the Japan-only games really, for the sake of finally localizing them over here (just translate Heroes of Light and Shadow and release it on the eShop. I think we in North America are still waiting for Shadow Dragon...) I'm appalled that several of you think IS can't manage it just because they supposedly screwed up with the DS remakes; or that they'd oversaturate it with Avatars and marriage, simply because Awakening and Fates are the most recent (and most well-received) titles right now. Have you no faith?
  19. Let's take a page from the translated FE6 Main Theme Opera and make it "Tough Battle Simulation" "Daring tales of courage and love."
  20. After a good match, you love to watch your character pull a sweet victory pose. You can even choose which victory pose you'll do by holding up, left, or right on the D-Pad (or one of B, X, or Y on Gamecube controller for Melee), but do it before the action freezes in Brawl/Smash 4. Which ones are your favorite? Doesn't have to be just characters you use. I will draw mostly from Smash 4 for my favorites, but you can draw from any installment, as several poses have varied or outright changed from previous installments. I won't be listing characters for which I have no preference. If you have several favorites and want to use gifs like I did, please wrap them in spoiler tags like such so the page doesn't strain from loading a ton of gif images at once. If there's a forum rule I've overlooked that limits how many images I can post at one time, please let me know.
  21. Zelgius. Not the Black Knight. Zelgius. Putting aside his hatred for laguz and troubles of being a Branded, he is a true knight in shining armor and a very powerful one at that (even if it is due to being a Branded). He is the kind of stern, but respectable knight I would strive to be. If I could show you my custom SoulCalibur IV character, that's how I would look when transformed, and I would wield that cool sword from his official artwork (he only ever uses it in The Crossing cutscene in FE10; in in-game cutscenes he uses a measly Iron Sword for Ashera knows why. Initially I thought the cool sword was a Silver Sword/Silver Blade, but unless I'm blind it appears to be unique). 'Course I would be just as comfortable wielding Alondite and the Wishblade.
  22. Red for the vast majority, since that's my favorite color. So I will just list exceptions, uncertain ones, Brawl preferences that changed in SSB4, and ones that don't have a red costume. There will still be some hints of red ones listed here. Bowser Jr. - Roy Captain Falcon - In every Smash installment, I always prefer his more vibrant Blue colors over his default and even over Blood Falcon red Duck Hunt - Default (no preference) Little Mac - Red gloves (no wireframes) Lucario - Blue Lucas - tied between Default and Red-striped shirt Lucina - Cordelia Luigi - Orange Mewtwo - Blue Ness - Default Pit - Gold R.O.B. - Red (SSB4); Famicom (Brawl) Robin - Blue Male, Red Female Ryu - Default, Dan Pink (why does he not have a Ken Red color!?) Samus - Default (SSB4, no preference); Blue (Brawl) (because I prefer the darker blue Zero Suit) Shulk - Default
  23. I initially would've gone with Together we Ride; but "Here we are. The Shepherd's garrison.", despite only being used the first few times for actual recruitments, to me it invokes a feeling of...welcoming. Welcoming the new recruits to the team, rather than the usual urgency the other themes invoke. And I really like that. Granted it was used for the garrison scene first, which was meant to introduce and welcome Robin to the other Shepherds, so... Say, could you add the unused "Character Joins" from Radiant Dawn? I rather like that one. It's like you finally succeeded in recruiting an important person or enemy you've been trying to convince for a long time. I always picture FE10 actually pulling a Lehran with Zelgius right after Endgame: Rebirth (2) with this theme playing when he comes to assist you in fighting the dragon laguz. I wish they'd done that, with or without this recruitment theme.
  24. I assume Brawl refers to the Latin-sung version? Japanese FE6 Opera version, hands down. Anyways, I voted for FE7, though I prefer the premium version. But my absolute favorite versions are "Faraway Aritia" and "The People's Prayer" (especially the latter, it being sort of a reprise of the former) from Nintendo G.S.M. 3. That grand sound the FE1 version lacked, Hattusili I? These I feel gave it the extra oomph it needed. It still sounds carefree, but honestly I like how it plays out, here. Honorable mentions: FE3 Sound Memorium version, FE6 OST version, "Fire Emblem ~ Emblem of Oath" (OVA)
  25. Ah, that's what threw me off. I've barely looked at the TCG artwork. But their resemblance is still uncanny.
