Muarim is close enough to his caps that you can BEXP him up to not even max level and he'll cap everything. Now, that's not good for an efficient run, and in HM I question if it's even possible unless you pretty much completely restrict BEXP for anyone else. But it's sure fun having a maxed tiger running around in endgame. Or even 4-4.
Just because they aren't better at combat than him (which, BTW, most of them ARE. Of those 17 characters, Tethys, Moulder, Natasha, and Colm aren't better than him. And Moulder and Natasha get great once promoted. Colm's close for a long time, too) doesn't mean they aren't better than him period.
Earlygame specifically? Eh, no one except Seth and +speed Gilliam (and occasionally Franz) are really all that different. So he's not really getting overshadowed, but he's nothing fantastic, either.
Knoll has summons and staves at the price of the Master Seal or a Guiding Ring. He has insane durability (summons) and is capable of falling back on healing. Plus he has 1-7/8 range without paying anything, and can make anyone and everyone invincible. Knoll's decent while he's around.
30% is 1.5x 20%. That's a significant difference.
Seth is always your best unit. IIRC, 20/20 Seth beats 20/10 Franz (reasonable assuming no tower) in every stat except speed. So, yeah. Everyone loves Oscar and Kieran, but Seth's just awesome.
Haven't dealt with many SNES or NES Paladins, so I don't know what to say about them, but I find it hard to believe they do much better than Seth.
Except in FE10 you can stick on units who actually get good use out of it like a swordmaster/TB. In FE9, you don't have that option.
I get rid of it in FE9.
I think Narga's might have to do with how he drops huge text bombs and then he just wins because no one's willing to counter. Thus if they "counter" the battle keeps going, but if they don't, they lose.
It means nothing when talking about things that apply to everyone. It's fine if you're talking about a specific instance that you aren't applying to everyone.
But she's still there during the axefest. She has time to train fairly easily. Marisa.... just sucks when she joins. And then you train her, and she's STILL awful. Just not quite as awful.
Tyranitar. Especially with Larvitar catchable before the first gym leader in HG/SS. Plus Pokemon's just too easy for me to really care all that much and I think he looks the coolest.
Yeah, but Zihark goes off and hides with the furries. Although I'd expect they get married if they get an A support. But I've never used Meg and never used Z as more than a filler character, so I don't know.
