  1. It basically boils down comparing an implied rapist (Valter) to an actual murderer (Hans). For me, Valter is worse, if only we are actually given a backstory for this guy, while Hans, as someone else has stated before, is more of a bandit chief of the day kinda fellow, so if one takes character depth into account, Valter wins it for me. Also, murderer just seems to be a bit less out of place in a Fire Emblem game, what with there being death all around, while an implied rapist like Valter turns the story into a pretty dark direction and makes me commend IS or Nintendo (whoever wrote Sacred Stones) for being subtle enough with it that it slipped past censor radars.

  3. Same here. I really want to grind skills now, before I continue the game. Besides, I promised someone on here to grind some skills for Hana, but... the normal skirmishes just take too damn long! EDIT: The DLC still isn't there. Damn you, Nintendo! Don't say it's available on the 26th when it isn't!
  4. No problem :D EDIT: 27.05.2016 It's done! If you visit my castle, you can get the following skills for Hana: Armored Blow Pavise Luna Miracle Amaterasu I hope this helps you out! My Castle code: 18446-11515-47270-30172 The throne is empty and everyone is set on hold, so it's an easy seize.
  5. Huh, that's odd. The German home page says it comes out today and Revelation on June 9th... LINK: https://www.nintendo.de/Spiele/Nintendo-3DS/Fire-Emblem-Fates-1026071.html It's like the old saying: One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Either that, or it is simply different between Australia and the rest of Europe.
  6. LOL! I also have one more thing to add, now that I am further into the game: - Kitsune and Wolfskin were actually worshipped as deities / feared as demons in the past as well (relating to real life myths of Kitsune and werewolves, respectively), but this was abolished after the dragons showed up.
  7. It's 8:26 where I live right now and I can't get the DLC that was supposedly released today, either (Boo Camp and Beach Brawl). I hope Nintendo didn't screw us over with their Map Pack 1 and everything works like it should... EDIT: On that note... How are you supposed to grind in this game (Birthright)?!? I'm on chapter 20 right now and I just got access to unlimited Seals (Partner, Eternal and so on) and I wanted to grind for skills... only to notice that even the strongest enemies only give like 1 EXP per kill, even bosses. My question is: HOW in the HECK did anyone get extra skills on their characters without eating their own hair? And that doesn't even include the absolute BS of everyone having weapons that totally screw your characters over... I tried to get Luna on my Avatar, but... suddenly, two guys packed Hammers. Both hit me. The result: a swift game over. Thank you, Intelligent Systems. Thank you. Yes, I am a bit salty... Now I want to get special skills on my characters even more, so that others don't have to go through that suffering, too.
  8. So, basically, I could have Selkie/Velouria with the Dragon Fang skill... I will now start my Conquest file with a female Avatar, just to have a wolf/dragon hybrid! Good, I will make both Caeldori AND Subaki into Kinshi-Knights, then! I already have enough people who can use rods, anyway (Avatar, Kana, Sakura, Felicia, Hinoka, Azama and Mitama) and only two bow-users (Takumi and Setsuna). Thanks once again for explaining, kind sir! :D
  9. I was stupid enough to think that Ryoma could dodge a 26% hit from Xander on Chapter 6 on Birthright... oh, how wrong I was. Once Hana passed level 10, she became the crit queen. (I love how, as a swordmaster, her crit animation involves her kicking enemies in the balls/shins, before striking them down. Double the pain means double the gain, I guess.) Corrin activated Dragon Fang four times in a row: Once on Beruka, Twice on Camilla and once more on Selena. All three of them were mangled corpses afterwards. Oh yeah! And Takumi got critted twice in a row as well! By an enemy with a 33% chance to hit and a 1% chance to crit. Stupid Ninjas... Also, Felicia can't dodge, even if her life depends on it. Selkie is the queen of surivival. She once reached 1HP and no one ever got a hit on her ever again. And I couldn't heal her, because Felicia was dead (playing on Casual) and Sakura was on the opposite side of the map. I don't know how she did it, but I'm glad she did. Because Selkie's a badass. And then there's Azura's screwed stat growths... oh my... three levels, I kid you not, without ANY gain to her stats. NONE!
  10. I paired Azama with Orochi, only because I didn't really know what I was doing and I kind of liked their supports. I think my Mitama will be more magically focused, but if that's good or not, I can't say. Was planning on making her either a Basara or an Onmyoji, depending on how her growths are.
  11. I'm planning to make one. I married Hana to my Avatar, who has Knight as a secondary class (for Luna.) I'm just waiting for the DLC to come out, so I can start grinding some levels and not get one EXP at a time. The Grind Map will be out on the 26th of this month, so you'll have to wait until then. It'll be just Luna for the moment, though. I'm also planning on giving her Pavise and Armored Blow to make her a bit more durable.
  12. The bolded ones actually made me laugh. :D Thank you! My headcanon is this (I'm only on Birthright chapter 14, so): - Kamui and Hana named their kid Kana, because K-amui + h-ANA = Kana. Sakura suggested it. - Ryoma and Xander used to be friends as kids that would meet in secret, but then stuff happend and now they are rivals/enemies. - Xander is actually insecure about himself and his abilities, because his strength comes from hard work and not actually natural talent, like Ryoma's or Leo's. - Elise and Sakura actually are the strongest royals (yes, even stronger than Garon or Mikoto), but they are inexperienced and kindhearted, so they don't want to/can't use their full powers. (If this gets confirmed, my mind will be blown.) - Robin is actually a descendant of Kamui. Somewhere down the line, a grandchild of Kamui/Kana turned bitter towards the world, giving birth to Grima. - Hana's father was killed at the same time as Kamui's abduction to Nohr, that's also why she (Hana) is so bitter towards him (Kamui) in the beginning of their supports. And now, for a "fun" one: - Takumi is Fates' version of Sasuke Uchiha. Also: #PraiseSaizo
  13. Right, thanks for the explanation. I unequipped Aptitude before updating my data just now, so everything should be a-okay. I thought that you could get Mozu's Villager class and by extension Aptitude by either a) marrying her with a male character or b) having an A/A+ support with her. You always learn something new. I married Mozu to Saizo, will he get Mozu's Vil--? Never mind, i just noticed that he gets Mozu's SECONDARY class tree... I'm sad now. On that note: How strong/useful is the Kinshi-Knight class? It looks awesome at least and I thought to make either Subaki or Caeldori end up as one, since I already have a Falcon Knight in Hinoka and I'm not really planning on using Reina at all.
  14. Yay, a fellow fan! *high five* Thanks for the explanation. So it basically works like that one character from Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon (forgot what his name was), who could also duplicate a unit. Interesting...
  15. Hi! You can get at least Vantage from my female Kana in my castle. I just updated it to include the progress I made until now and I happen to have female Kana with Vantage. I don't know if you can buy a skill from female Kana and equip it on male Kana, but it works for the Avatar, so... Castle address is as follows, if you like: 18446-11515-47270-30172 Edit: Everyone is on hold and no one is on the throne, so it should be easy to seize it.
  16. What? That was a hack?!? I came across someone with an Aptitude Corrin, too and I just assumed he (or she) made his/her character marry Mozu to get it, so I bought it... damn. Luckily that was AFTER I fetched Kana, so at least that one's safe now... crap.
  17. Just reached Hoshido chapter 14 and I must say... I'm sad that the Fujin Yumi and Raijinto are Takumi/Ryoma only. Takumi makes Setsuna pretty much pointless and if Hana wasn't my strongest unit and/or favourite character, I would have benched her by now, too... Happened to Hinata, although I like the guy. I'm still weirded out that he has the same name as a FEMALE from Naruto... Fun fact: I hooked Hinata up with Setsuna... now they can be happy on the bench together... Although I plan on leveling them up soon enough. The Saizo/Mozu support was the cutest I've seen yet, although Hinoka/Silas was pretty cool, too. I also liked Avatar/Hana quite a bit, actually (I know, I'm alone on this one). When I'm done with Hoshido, I'll move on to Nohr and see what I can accomplish there. One question, though: What's the deal with Replicate. In every castle I visit, one or more units have Replicate on them. Could someone explain to me what that skill does and how beneficial it is/can be? I'm so in love with this game... *swoon*
  18. 18446-11515-47270-30172 Hoshido Avatar Name: Dominik / Castle Name: Sternenlicht (German for Starlight) Region: Europe Food: Rice Mineral: Amber Battle Level: Easy, I just started out and put everyone on hold. Throne is empty for easy seize Notes: Avatar Affinity: + Skill, - HP Avatar Secondary Class: Knight (for Luna/Pavise later on) Current Team (will change later on): Avatar, Rinkah, Kaze, Sakura, Subaki, Hana, Azura, Felicia, Saizo, Mozu I don't have any special skills on my units yet, but that will change later on. That everyone is on hold won't change, because my goal is to help other players get some useful skills for their units without having to fight through gruesome battles. Feel free to stop by, if you like. EDIT: Thanks to some awesome people, I now have the following skills to offer: Avatar: Dragon Curse (for any Hoshido players), Rend Heaven Sakura: Rend Heaven Azura: Luna, Pavise
  19. Thanks for the reassurance and I have to admit that you have a point. It's just that I'm still a bit salty with what happened to Pokémon Conquest, which didn't come out where I live.
  20. I love the Valm chapters (chapter 14 onward until chapter 20), because there is something charming about 10-12 people taking on an army that ranges from anywhere between 25-45 units plus reinforcements and, if you cared to grind your units to maximum stats/best skills before taking them on, you can just roflstomp the enemy - that vastly outnumbers you! - into oblivion. I remember this part to be the hardest part of the game for me when I first played it, because my admittedly still weak units were swarmed by the many, similarly powerful enemies and back then, I didn't know the first thing about pair ups. I also like chapter 6, like everyone else, apparently and the Future Past maps are cool, too.
  21. If this ever comes out in Europe, I'll get it. If only for the fact that the R-button on my regular 3DS apparently has some kind of grudge against me and only works when it feels like it. Speaking of a European Fates release: I've come to doubt that we'll get the game at all, to be honest. At the very least, the release date will only be announced one or two weeks after the game released in North America and Canada, because they want to wait and see if the game sales well in a Western country. If it doesn't, then it's goodbye Fates for us Europeans and our Australian buddies. I think that's how it will/might go down in the end. EDIT: Or maybe GameFAQs are right and the game really does release at the same day that it does in North America. Here's the link so you can see that I am not joking: http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds EDIT 2: Even if it doesn't come out, I think Bravely Second and Etrian Odyssey II Untold will keep me happy until the next game...
  22. This. This so much! I hated Ricken and I will hate Tsukuyomi. I have a personal vendetta against arrogant characters, especially if they are children, so that dude is on my hit list already (as in, I'll send him to his doom very early on). Also, the Nohrian siblings save for Elise who is just too cute to hate :3 And other characters I dislike are: Charlotte Tsubaki (I loathe perfectionists.) Pieri (psychopathic Yandere... enough said) Zero (I feel sorry for all the male homosexual players out there that THIS guy is the only one they have as a gay marriage option) Eponine Soleil Lazward (a.k.a. Inigo) Hisame Also Takumi. The rest are fine in my book. That probably will change once I get the game but from what I have seen, these are the characters I am least likely to use.
  23. I really don't mind the English dub for most things. A prime example would be the Tales games. They usually have FANTASTIC english voice acting, but sometimes the voices just don't really fit the characters. One such example would be Lloyd's voice from the original Tales of Symphonia. The japanese voice just fit his character better in my opinion and I prefer his Dawn of the New World english voice over the original (english) one as well. A counter-example is Jude from Tales of Xillia. His english voice actor fits the role better than the japanese one. Another example is Marta from Dawn of the New World. I like both voices, but it is funny to see Rie Kugimiya, also known as the queen of tsundere (Shana, Aria, Taiga among others) voice act a clingy fangirl. The same can be applied to Fire Emblem Awakening, too. I prefer Sully's english voice over her japanese one, but I like Lissa's japanese voice better than her english one, which doesn't really fit her to be honest. And then there's cases like Chrom, Sumia, Frederick, Lucina, Severa and Lon'qu where I genuinely think that both versions are equally good. Fun fact: The same guys that voice Chrom in Awakening also voice Alvin in Tales of Xillia and its sequel (That being the almighty Tomokazu Sugita and Matthew Mercer, respectively). I now picture Chrom saying: "Oh Jude, hold me tight and let's tether all night long." *shudders* And that's exactly it: A matter of preference. EDIT: Also, british english sounds cool. I'd love to be able to speak it properly. I would be able to piss off so many English teachers where I come from...
  24. For me, it was the other way around. I got EOU and am now currently playing EO4. On to your question: The Coeurl is a pretty tough contender on his own already, but he is even more annoying with the bird F.O.E.'s that are in the room with him. I suggest getting rid of these first before fighting the boss (Volt attacks work wonders against these guys). For the boss himself: Throw out Defender and Front/Rear Guard with Raquna every few turns and have your Highlander, Frederica and Arthur attack the boss with their skills (you could try binding his legs with Leg Snipe, I think that gets rid of his most powerful attacks, but I'm not so sure about that). Simon should be mainly there for healing and I just let him defend whenever there was nothing to do for him. And I have a question of my own, concerning EO4: I just arrived at the 3rd land (the snowy one) and my party consists of a Nightseeker, a Fortress, a Dancer, a Medic and a Runemaster. Any suggestions on how to distribute skill points? Until now, I just tried to learn every ability, but I don't think that that's the most effective strategy. Also, I heard that subclassing is a thing. Any suggestions for subclasses for my party? Help is greatly appreciated.
  25. I'm actually honestly surprised by how the poll turned out. F!Kamui being first was something I really, really did not expect. And Hana only 21st? I guess I really have a knack for picking unpopular characters as my favourites *goes to cry in a corner* Well, at least Kaze got voted pretty high, so that's good. But really: F!Kamui getting 1st place? Not even f!Robin was ranked that high back in Awakening. I personally don't mind, however, seeing as how I think that f!Kamui is overall better designed than f!Robin. Sadly, selfcest still isn't a thing in these games (just kidding) Also surprising: none of the children save Eponine are in the top ten. I think Awakening had some of the children in the top ten, like Lucina and Severa. Also, Jakob. Why? Just why? The dude is a complete a**hole to anyone that isn't Kamui. I mean, yeah, whatever floats your boat, I guess, but... urgh. And Leon and Takumi in high places is not at all surprising, even though I really wonder what exactly it is that makes these two so popular. Though I gotta admit, Fates seems to have the least amount of likeable male characters (save for Sacred Stones) in any Fire Emblem game so far, so... Leon and Takumi seem like decent enough guys, although I would have put Ryoma, Nishiki, Flannel, Saizou and Kaze higher than them, but this isn't about me. It's about everyone in the fanbase (meaning all of us) and if you like them, more power to you. :-)
