  1. Dang, once again, the internet is already hard at work!
  2. I pray it doesn't... Hearing that saddens me...it's actually a fun game(minus a few issues)... ...sigh...oh well...
  3. Yeah, gonna have to agree with you on that! I think Robin almost immediately! ...Why couldn't they just, you know, keep it mainly the same? Nothing is wrong with their normal names(heck, they sound cooler)!
  4. 13 picks...all from Tellius and Elibe! Also, it could all depend if the voters are voting based on the character themselves or the whole waifu thing...kinda hoping it's just based on the characters being liked alot(for their character)! Well, got someone with a Medival gun....pffbt...AHAHAHAHAHHA! ...oh man, that is quite something man! Just...I'm not sure what to think!
  5. Oh? That so? *Evil laughter* ...this...is gonna be FUN! (Totally not gonna be bias towards the Tellius and Elibe characters...nope...whatcha talking about?)
  6. Happy for the FE2 remake(solely because of the fact that I never played it and it seems fun...also because slowly but surely we're getting closer to other possible remakes FE1 had its turns years ago...and now FE2 gets some love)! Seems to be less of the Awakening and Fates approach, something I'm happy about(and the artstyle looks good and kinda classic in a way) Also...seems like my FE Amiibo collection getting bigger it seems... FE Switch...got nothing really, but screw it, NEW GAME FOR THE SWITCH! BOOYAH! FE Warriors...10 more seconds of footage...yay? The game is coming the the Switch and the NEW 3DS. While I just wanted one, main version, if it's on the NEW3DS, I'll at least know it's not held back for the sake of the older 3DS. FE Heroes...looks fun. As long as I can avoid microtransactions as much as possible and don't NEED it to play the game, I'll be on good terms with it. Overall, I think I set expectations a bit high, but I still found the Direct alright. Now then...time to vote for Lyn! If I can have two votes, other one is going to Ike most likely!
  7. Welp...looks like FE 2 finally got some love(and the game looks GOOOOD!). Slowly but surely making our way to FE 3,4,5, and 6.
  8. Ok, so apparently what I'm hearing, the FE Direct is 21 minutes long(from what people see on the Japanese stream). A bit bummed(was hoping for maybe 30), but hoping the content is good(that's all I mainly want)! 8 minutes...
  9. Ok, so from what I'm hearing, the Direct is 21 minutes long(that's what the Japanese one is saying anyway). Aww...was kinda hoping for 30...oh well...as long as the content is good, I'm happy!
  10. Oh ok, cool. Also...just noticed signatures are back...YAY! Anywho, back to being hyped....less then 30 minutes away...
  11. For those who don't know, the main site has a link to Direct(the stream is not on yet, but it's been there in case you didn't know). Its the Nintendo website page that usually has the directs on them. I'm ...just looking at the page on my computer screen...still waiting....still anxious...but sooo full of hype!
  12. Dinar87's thread ("Why do some people say the path of radiance is the best in the series story wise?"), kinda got me thinking about something......we hear so many people praise games like FE4 and FE9 so much or people get on FE13 and FE14 case's for their stories, it makes me wonder just how much people opinions are influenced by the praise(or complaints) of others? So I wonder...do you think your opinions were influenced a bit by other's claims(whether it was affected negatively or positively) for any of the Fire Emblem games? (Like for example, you hear so many people praise FE4, but when you played it, it didn't really click with you. Or maybe some people find Fates worse then Awakening in the story department, but after playing Fates, you feel like its the other way around. Stuff like that.). Personally, I haven't really been influenced when it came to the games. Games FE9 and FE10, I played when I was around 12(and later around 15), WAAAY before I even know the forums existed over here(knew about the main site, but I didn't look and see the "Forum link at the top ). So I went in with a blank slate. FE4, I heard was good, buuut...still not sure what to think of it(haven't finished it. FE13, blank slate. FE14, I heard those who got the Japanese version of the game hate the writing and stuff, but I kinda wrote it off as "it hasn't been translated as of yet, so it must seem a bit shakey"......yeah...couldn't have been more wrong....
  13. That's honestly something that bugged me as I learned more about some of the extra stuff in this game. There are ALOT of extra dialouge that you miss out on because of the situation at hand(or you wouldn't think to do certain things). Like for example, during the climatic battle with the Black Knight, Mist will have special dialogue with the Black Knight, which shows how much she blames him for killing her father(obvus) and making Ike constantly seek revenge. Even though she knows she can't really harm him, she wanted one good hit in just to vent her frustration and sadness...buuut since one Clash will end in her greatly wounded(and you out of a good healer), you wouldn't dare to try! It's also an issue present in RD as well(like how Micaiah has special dialogue with Ike in the second to last chapter of Part 3...something only possible if you use your long ranged light magic[forgot that tome's name] when he gets close enough......then again, Micaiah near Ike isn't a good thing unless they are allies...its like Mist and the Black Knight all over again). However that's also a bit of plus with PoR(especially with RD, all things considered ). There is ALOT of special dialogue...especially under different situations. Like how(God forbid...) if Marcia dies, Makalov's support with Astrid will change because of that(like how she liked certain flowers and, if she's dead, he collects them and puts it on her grave). Another situation(although I wonder why), if Boyd and/or Oscar die before chapter 2, it will reflect in Mist and Rolf's conversation(because if they're both dead, Mist will try to comfort Rolf and, of course, any dialogue that involves them is gone). It's very nice small details that I like......it's just too bad that some are hard as heck to get(or in a few instances with PoR, they seem...a bit unnecessary...but hey, its the little things that make it more appealing)! And for dialogue BrightBow brought up specifically, you can see the conversation, and the others, here(if you want): http://lparchive.org/Fire-Emblem-Path-of-Radiance/Update 76/
  14. Fair enough. It ain't for everyone. (And oh boy, I'm glad for the changes even more so...made it easier to play the game[and even get the game] in open and not feel like I have to hide it! )
  15. They did change some things so it honestly wasn't as bad as it was before(Thank God because it was honestly a issue I had with it when it was first revealed...and one chapter in the game I'm REALLY happy they changed because how they had it originally would've been a bit out of character for Tsubasa and also a bit...creepy honestly......once again proving localization changes can be a beautiful thing ). And honestly, the characters being just from Awakening and Archanea aren't too bad since the cast of playable characters is kinda small...buuut I doubt that'll change your mind much...(I also kinda can't really blame you for feeling that way...I feel like they could've marketed the game a bit better and did some edits before hand because...some of that stuff don't exactly fly that well over here and...well...first impressions are kinda everything as they say...) I ain't gonna try to force ya to like it, but it is a good and interesting game(despite some issues with it).
  16. Ok, while I think a small part me loves PoR so much is because it made me fall in love with the series(I played FE7 and FE8 before hand, but they set the foundation while FE9 set a standard), I still love this game greatly. Also, not sure if this means much, but I played this game around the time I was 11 or 12 so I barely had any knowledge on it other then "It's a Fire Emblem game" back then. I went in with a blank(blind) slate. Does this game have the best story? No, good as it is, it still has issues that I've noticed over the years(and while RD fixed some, some were added in). As for the series? Eh...I'd at least say its high up there for many reasons(but the other games aren't slouches in the story department). Trust me, it's no Holy Greil! ;P However, and I'm gonna sound like a broken record(and probably a parrot), but stuff like its world building and characters make it really good! It's honestly the game I remember almost everyone! The story has nice pace and has some pretty smooth transitions from one thing to the next. It also, while deep, is easy to comprehend isn't all over the place. It stays consistent most of the ride through. As for Ike, he's pretty relatable(not to say the other Lords aren't, but I feel like Ike honestly just starting out as normal guy made it a bit easier to connect to the guy). He's a pretty normal guy who eventually gains the right to be a Lord(despite how much of a "low class" title he apparently has compared to so many people like in Begnion and the likely hood of that even happening seemed low). He grows from a hothead fighter with bare any experience as a leader, to a respectable leader and a brave, but also wise, warrior. But it's also that he's pretty accepting of people, no matter who you are. And not to mention that Elincia, who grows from a weak princess to a strong fighter for her people, while done before, you see her change as time goes on as she is influenced by Ike and the Greil Mercenaries(and she herself chooses to fight, even though Ike and everyone has done a pretty good so far at that point. She wanted to fight for the sake of her people, her country, and those important to her). Speaking of them, the Greil Mercenaries, being one big (mostly)happy family, show often how they care for one another through their interacts with each other. Which is another thing...in things like Base Conversations(not sure it counts enough as story, but...oh well) you see interacts with most of the characters, even if a small bit. It makes you feel like they'll actually all fighting together in this War and aren't just...there. It makes everyone(and the world itself) seem more alive and connected(if that makes enough sense). Everyone gets the spotlight, even if for just a brief moment. Course its been done in FE7 and FE8(a bit more in FE8), but its done more here. The whole Laguz racisim and slavery problem in the story(while it doesn't come all the way to light till RD, where the root of the issue started is finally explained more) kinda made it known that there are CLEARLY more issues going on in the world and that hate & fear can drive people to do horrible things(of course that's not to say the Laguz are complete innocent if Lethe's Support with Jill has anything to do with things turning how they did, but that still doesn't make it right for people to treat the Laguz that way either...)! More on that in a second... And, most importantly, the writing...is COMPETENT! Forgive me for getting on the newer game's cases, but an issue that I've had with the newer games is that in their stories, there are glaring issues that I notice that make me scratch my head and go "Huh?! What?!" Thankfully, its an issue I never really had with PoR(as well as FE7 and FE8). I can go through the story and I'm not really confused about anything and it makes sense. Either something is told to me, it's hinted at, or I find out more stuff via supports(or possibly keeps it in mystery...which more then like is token care of in RD). Restoring Crimea also goes along with bettering the ties with the Laguz, who are pretty much either looked at as monsters or nothing more then slaves who can done whatever with(but at the same time, not all of them are good, but they can be just as bad as Beorc can). A race almost goes extinct due to confusion blinding rage of people who accused them of murder, causing them to regret their mistake for year and leave the remains of said race(and those who consider them family) hate them with a passion. It takes allies with other nations to gain the power to fight Daein and King Ashnard, who are the main sources of all the events transpiring going on! I may not make as complicated as it is, but there is a lot of things going on, but it isn't all shoved down your throat at one time. While the main goal is restore Crimea, there are many more things going on in the background that connect to the issue at hand! And its give to you at a pace that allows you to take it all in and process it all! Now Ashnard might not be the best Villain in the series, he still does a good job a being a villain(but I question his reasons for doing certain things like starting the war because it didn't seem to all the way clear...well, other then the fact he, and most of Daein, really hates Laguz. So honestly, Daein were probably eager to destory the nation that has connections with the so called...ahem... "subhumans"). Although the Black Knight is honestly more intimidating then he is(seeing how strong he is and that he randomly checks on Ike and Army sometimes...). Ok, I might have missed some things, but I'm pretty sure someone else said it instead and honestly, I probably could've explained better. Hopefully what I said actually makes sense and doesn't make me come off as someone blind to the issues the story has(which, while not many, are still there). Also, if I kept going on, I would've eventually went in the gameplay and that isn't the point of this thread(that and I took a LOOONG time to write this and made sure it was at least decent and organized, and now my brain is kinda tired...) While not the "Holy Greil" of storytelling, it's my favorite game in the series and I love it so much(as I do RD. Maybe not as much, but I love both greatly...and will probably gush about them to death! Not everyone will see it as I do, but hey, that's just my opinion and theirs)!
  17. I can second it as a good game. Has some issues, but overall, its a blast(but I will admit...Super Saiyan Blue Marth is still funny as heck)! ;P
  18. Yeah, that would be cool! I even had half of them on my list! Forgot to have Caineghis...NO...Nailah...!
  19. Ok, before I say anything...this could possibly just be nothing or a coincidence, but I felt like this was something interesting to bring to others attention. (Would've done this much earlier, but you know...site update and all that...) Anywho, I was checking my Twitter feed the other day and came across a post that I found VERY interesting: (Sorry if the picture quality isn't too good. Hopefully you can still see it well enough. If not...Google Images might get you a better photo to compare...) I know the FE Direct is just tomorrow, but I wanted to see what others thought of it(and pray to God that that was intentionally put in there as one of those "hard to see" hints)!
  20. I got my own personal roster for ya(edited it to make it more organized and tidy): (I tried my BEST to cover all baeses! Classes, weapons, Land reps. etc.) Archanea(Past) Marth Caeda Jeagan Elibe Lyn Hector Eliwood Rebecca Magvel Eirika Ephraim Myerr(might be wrong) Tellius Ike Mist Elincia Sanaki Micaiah Sothe Jill Marcia Ranulf Archanea (Present) Chrom(duh! ;P) Lucina Sumia Robin Fatestopia(it doesn't have a legit name) Corrin Xander Ryoma Beruka Universal Anna Unlocks or DLC Jugdral Siegfried Arvis Elibe Roy Sophia Fa Jaffar Matthew Lucius Nino Dorcas Magvel Joshua Lyon Tellius Soren Titania Rolf Shinon Tibarn Naesala Nephenee Mia IIyana Harr Nasir Brom Gatrie Boyd Volke Oliver Black Knight Fatestopia(I'm gonna keep calling it this) Effie Leo Camilla Elise Takumi Hinoka Sakura Garon ...might've missed a few. (Also, not gonna lie, my list maaaaay be a bit bias...just saying! ;3)
  21. People can follow/ get notifications what you post...maybe? Or maybe it's something like Twitter? I don't really know... (If you're wondering where that is, check your profile page on the left)
  22. Ok, not gonna lie, while part of me is liking the new look....part of me kinda prefers the older look a lot more(since it was very recognizable/distinct). There was a bit more charm to it(and it matched the look of the main site too). Oh well...I'll probably get used to it(might take a while though). Will probably really have to take a closer look around to see what changed(from major to minor stuff). Edit: Ok, quoting seems easier(as well as choosing Emoticons), your draft posts are still auto saved, and profiles seem alright. Not too shabby!
  23. I've thought of a REALLY weird one... Fire Emblem X Danganronpa. For those unfamiliar(and...prepare yourself for this one because it's quite the dozy), In Danganronpa, around 16 people(mainly students) are trapped in a school isolated from the outside world and they are forced to live there...for the rest of their lives! If they want out...they need to murder someone and get away with it! As the main character, when you're not spending time with someone to get to know them more, you'll be investigating crime scenes when someone is murdered(after a period of time/days). You need to find clues, piece everything together, and solve the case by figuring out out who the killer is in the "ClassTrial"...or else the killer(or the "Blackened") goes free(or "Graduates" as Monokuma, the bear, puts it) and everyone else gets punished( a.k.a. he kills everyone else)! If you find out "Whodunnit" , only the killer gets punished(but you all are still stuck...just with a smaller number of people)! (In a sense, it's like Phoenix Wright, a visual novel...but a lot more over the top...but then again, ATLUS made this game so...yeah...they like doing that.) Of course, as the game progresses, Monokuma gives "motives" for them to kill each other. Some are a bit petty, but others are quite personal! Like say for example at some point later on(this isn't in the game, but..), the motive is "if you can kill someone and get away with it, you and someone of your choice can "Graduate" with you"! You also, of course, try to find another way out. The situation looks hopeless....but you can't give in to despair(something that Monokuma LOOOOVES! And that's the reason everyone is trapped there...because Monokuma loves the despair of others and can't get enough of it)! (If the game sounds jacked up...you'd be right...mostly. Its freakin screwed up! That M rating ain't for show!) As for the crossover, you would have FE characters in a somewhat similar style to TMS#FE and have the characters with the same personalities, but any relationships characters that may have in the FE games with each other(minus a few) aren't established yet(because in this, they don't know one another). They start while trapped in the school and, as I mentioned, they have to survive or they're dead. (Does this crossover sound weird? Don't blame ya, but the thought came to my mind and it seemed to work in my head)! As for Characters, it would have: Marth Caeda Lyn Eliwood Hector *Emphriam *Eirika Ike Elincia *Micaiah *Sothe Robin Lucina Corrin Jakob. Camilla * =relationship remains mostly intact from the games...just more modern now. As for who dies first...huh, let your imaginations run wild... OH, and if you're someone who can have they're heartstrings tugged on easily, then this game will play your heartstrings like a guitar at a concert...continuously...laugh as you're down...and will drink your tears in a wine glass because it doesn't care for your feelings! (Yeah, proceed with this game series with caution. I've only seen the first game and...it's a trip, I'll tell you that much! ) If I think of anything else, I may come back and add another thing. Oh my gosh, that's freakin' hilarious!
  24. Same here. It's been so quiet for so long...kinda want to let us know what that stuff is IS? Ya need to hype it up a bit!
