With how common mages are now, especially since Celica is a bonus hero, it's getting harder and harder to use Hector.

Eh, I personally prefer the Blessed Shield. Aside from the healing it provides, which works perfectly with Saints, halving damage taken from Terrors is quite useful, and usually worth more than the 7 Def, while also not weighing one down. It makes your Saints actually able to combat Gargoyles and Bigles, especially Cleric Faye. Of course, it doesn't work on human enemies. However, you already have Steel Shields, and can gain access to a Dracoshield very soon, which really speak against the Silver Shield's usefulness at that point.

A lot of people choose to promote Hector or Eliwood first, though, so maybe they won't have a 20/18 Lyn by endgame. It depends on favoritism I guess, but usually the other two contribute more I think.

But our pairing has become selfcest.

Doesn't 26 - 8 = 18? That can't double Nergal or the Fire Dragon with that Speed. Lyn doesn't gain any Spd from promotion either. Unless I'm misunderstanding your statement.

The new lava map is legit free money because everyone runs mages. All you have to do is stick your mage counter on the corresponding defense tile. I advanced to Tier 18, but I have no idea if I can stay in it. I don't really expect to go to 19. With +2 Celica, +2 Lucina, +1 Azura and someone else, I think I can scrape a score that's around 4850, or closer to 4900? Probably not enough, but we'll see. I'm doing +2 Celica, +1 Azura, Julia and Reinhardt for my safe run right now.
