Sure. Done.

This is a literal non-issue. I probably have some guys I like who didn't make the cut, because I like shitters like Oricorio or Floatzel. But I have copies of those in the games I caught them in. With a new game I can capture new guys instead.

Moved to General, but to be honest I think Rezzy already covered the only viable solution here.

We're changing tracks. Big mod hat on, no backchat, your presence on these forums is a privilege and not a right.

What little things really grind your gears?

How would 3x effectiveness change your opinion on units?
Parrhesia replied to trunkynugget's topic in Fire Emblem
It wouldn't do much for archers. Their main disadvantage in FE7, an EP-focused game, is having bad EP, and largely terrible bases. I guess Wil would probably be able to more effectively delete pegasus knights in early game but he's still a charity case. A charity case I'll always bring along... -
Let's make subpar units much better together
Parrhesia replied to mangasdeouf's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
Jesus Christ. ... That was going to be my dramatic mic-drop before the lock and then I remembered I don't actually moderate the vintage FE boards. Cleave back to the topic in time for someone more forgiving to turn up. -
It's great news, but keep discussion to the one topic.

Uhm. Not as a weekly mode. As fun as it would be to use all ~230 of my units... that's fifty-seven fights. I do think there should be more ways to make use of squad depth, but not this.

They aren't usually workhorse weapons like steel sword/bows or iron lance/axes, but sometimes you need the extra punch. It's a useful sidearm.

First Hall of Forms Final Builds? (Alm, Celica, Mae, Boey)
Parrhesia replied to indigoasis's topic in Fire Emblem Heroes
I don't remember the specifics, but I was able to use a good few skills I didn't usually have the chance to. Bonus Doubler / Rouse Atk/Def Boey was a particularly nice combination that arose fairly early on. Movement skills proved elusive - I never actually found Reposition at all, and ended up with one Smite and one Draw Back. HoF is fucking amazing as a mode. -
Hi, I'm doing outreach to distract from this assignment and my brokeness.

0 is a perfect, beautiful oval. -
Late to the punch. The SF administration already created two mods for Three Houses.

People who say harder modes on FE are easy make me feel bad.
Parrhesia replied to Dragoncat's topic in Far from the Forest...
A thing that you can become blind to after a while in this series is that the games are... hard, certainly on classic. They have a reputation as such for a reason. I can't speak for FE13, but I certainly felt playing FE14 that it required a whole different skillset to the GBA FEs... and, indeed, the GBA FEs compared to chunky, attritional Tellius, or tricky bastard FE5. GBAFE is very pared down, focused on murdering as many weak grunts on enemy phase as possible before you're overwhelmed. A single cursory scan for effective weaponry was generally enough. FE14 suddenly had guys randomly be invincible on even-numbered turns, guys who did double damage at all times, and occasionally terrible gimmick stages. Adapting to that required a very different skillset. Consequently, I literally wiped on two maps on Hard/Casual. But FEH, which has the similar kind of 'everyone has skills', is played at a slower pace and with generally close-to-even numbers; suddenly I'm really good at FEH. I'd probably be able to bring some of those skills into FE14 if I went back to it, too. I pretty much always play on Hard (or equivalent), and Casual when it's available. On FE15, I turnwheeled back for deaths where possible, but it left scope open to just breeze through random encounters, or have a nuclear option to brute-force objectives, where that was lower on frustration. This is all kind of irrelevant though. How good you are at a video game... doesn't... matter. Being good might be a point of pride personally, sure. If you can do FE11 H5 on 0% growths in under a hundred turns standing on your head, that's something you can be pleased with! But if the mode that gives you the most joy is Normal / Casual ... that just means you're a Normal person who plays games Casually. If you draw your enjoyment from brutalising the enemy head-on, that's entirely valid. -
Moved to Concepts because there's no end product yet. I don't have the knowledge to help, but it sounds interesting - though maybe going into a little more detail on the advice you're looking for would help? Most of the FE-likes here hack either FE7 or FE8 as a base, though there's at least one project that built an engine from scratch.

Let's nip this argument in the bud. Fs for EN all around, grab the patch before it vanishes, ignore the drama.
