  1. New video of Boss Keys where Mark talks about Ocarina of Time's dungeon design.
  2. New video where mark talks about mobile game Downwell, and how the way it works give everything in the game multiple purposes.
  3. New video of Boss Keys where Mark talks aboute the dungeon design in Link's Awakening.
  4. Really? That's a surprise, just seeing the main artwork and the synopsis were enought to make me go "Oh it's gonna be one of those shows right?" and keep my distance from the show. I guess i'll try the first episode later then.
  5. Finished Space Patrol Luluco, Anime of the Season for me by far, and the ending was incredible. Also, more of a question but should i watch Re;Zero? It seems to be very popular and well-liked, but i have personally never been fond of these "Bland audience-insert protagonist gets trapped in a game/game-esque-world and gets a harem" kind of shows, but is this one the exception?
  6. New video where Mark talks about the problems in the design of Mirror's Edge Catalyst's open world and uses Burnout Paradise as an example of how to do it better.
  7. New video of a new series where Mark talks about Zelda's dungeon design starting with A Link To The Past.
  8. While i do believe that there are a lot of cases of the term being misused, i don't think that such a thing doesn't exist, plot armour is just one of the many things that fall under the category of "Plot Contrivancies", which is when a story ruins any suspension of disbelief in order to have an specific event occur.
  9. New video where Mark talks about how Hitman uses repetition to incentive different approaches to the same missions.
  10. Binge-watched Konosuba and Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, the former was hilarious and i recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind some cruelty in their humour, if i were to give it a score, it would be a very strong 8/10, the latter was good, but lacking in some areas (Mainly, the pacing and a lot of missed opportunities in the plot), i would give it a strong 6/10, when the second season come and i give it a rewatch on it's entirety, i might bump it up to a 7/10. I haven't watched Ore Monogatari yet, but i heard it's made 80% of fluff.
  11. New video where Mark talks about how Star Fox Zero's controls lack anything that truly makes it come off as if it's an experience that can only be done on the Wii U Gamepad.
  12. New video where Mark talks about the evolution of controllers, and how there is no "universal" controller, as different controllers are better fit for different things.
  13. Finished reading the currently available chapters of Jojolion.
  14. Finished reading Steel Ball Run recently, it was incredible, best Jojo part for me.
  15. I just want Nintendo to let Koizumi to work on something. I mean, how long has it been since he was the main director of a game?
  16. New video where Mark talks about the importance of difficulty on the Souls games and how it's not really necessary to have an Easy Mode on these games.
  17. Gaiden has that little animation Alm makes before killing Duma.
  18. Thracia's plot ruins Travant's character. Marth, Lyn and Ike are boring. Fates abandoning most of the franchises' typical archetypes is a good thing. (Is this unpopular? I can't really tell) Camus is the worst archetype in the series. The "Evil Bishop" archetype isn't necesseraly bad, but outside of Nergal and maybe Izuka, they're all pretty much the exact same character.
  19. New video where Mark talks about Spelunky, and how despite it being a game with randomly generated levels, the game never comes off as unfair to player.
  20. Saw the hype around Awakening, so in order to prepare, i played FE7 (And later, FE8), needless to say, i enjoyed Awakening, but i found the changes in gameplay... perplexing... Since then, i've played FE6 and FE4 (I've also seen an in-depth playthrough of the Tellius games), and am now waiting for someone to make a tolerable FE5 translation patch.

  22. New video where Mark talks about how Vanquish, despite being a cover-based shooter, manages to be just as satisfying and fun as Platinum's other games.
  23. So... what about EOV has been making you excited? Just asking for fun. The one thing that is making me the most excited is probably the news about no versatility features in the game, after two games and two remakes that were somewhat easier than previous entries, it will be a nice change of pace to go back to the old style. Another thing that makes me excited is the inclusion of even more tabletop-style events, these tend to make some of the most memorable moments in the game (Thieving Squirrels anyone?) And finally, the classes, i like the look of most of the classes and races with the exception of the Reaper, the Herbalist and the Shaman. The only thing im somewhat iffy about is the inclusion of more more "magic" elements into the game, it's nitpicking, but to me, it feels a little out of place, remember EOI, where the Hexers were the only thing that suggested that magic existed in the world?
  24. A more detailed look at classes and stuff. I love the Cestus and the Hound.
  25. How about a Fire Emblem game that takes place in a single country with it's own conflicts rather than be about the war between two or more countries? I feel like that idea would allow for a lot more of experimentation while still allowing the story to feel Fire Emblem-ish. It could have multiple protagonists, allow for a more natural take on Grey Morality rather than Fates' horrid attempt at it and most of all, it allows for a more focused plot, if the entire game happened in one place the developers have a much easier time fleshing out the culture, history and people that reside in said country, as long as they can make sure the country seems neither too large or too small, it can work.
