  1. It certainly sounds like Yuri Lowenthal, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not him. There are definitely some cheaper actors out there that sound similar to him that I've fallen for on multiple occasions.
  2. Several centuries seems like a generous guesstimate for Fire Emblem, if I were a betting man I'd put Sothis at one millennium at least.
  3. I would totally wear that shirt as well. Ever since we learned more about each house back in February I've found the Blue Lions to be the most appealing, mostly because the characters seem the most orthodox compared to the other houses which seem to have more gimmick personalities among their ranks, but that's just my opinion.
  4. I'm not say she has to be a perfect Disney princess to be the main character. I'm just not optimistic that she'll grow in any meaningful way by the end of the story considering that's what happened last time in FE Fates. So if Edelgard turns out to be a self-righteous control freak who's unapologetic in her actions like I'm predicting, I don't think shes going to be the the most likable character unless she goes through an arc to temper those traits with humility or justice or something along those lines to make her a better leader and person. I am aware that this is all purely based off of my own personal assumptions from information released in promotional material that doesn't always give full context, but until the game is in our hands I can't really do much better.
  5. From everything I've seen Edelgard seems very self-righteous in the worst way possible, the kind of character that thinks they always know best and that the ends justify the means. I don't think this makes for an inherently bad character, but I have a feeling since she's being pushed as the game's main protagonist she'll never face any lasting consequences that force her grow and change because God forbid we suggest our hot wifu heroine is anything less than perfection. Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but I wouldn't be surprised if things pan out that way. I love seeing the responses to FE Tweets, it's just a bunch of Animal Crossing and/or Smash Bros. fans complaining that Nintendo's not showing anything new for Animal Crossing and/or Smash Bros. and then everybody else makes fun of them because they're being ridiculous.
  6. Man, I really need to get Bloodstained sometime soon, Curse of the Moon was great and Ritual of the Night looks pretty darn fantastic. 8/10 The Tiger Warrior(Jago's Theme) - Killer Instinct
  7. If I may be so bold, how often is a moderator expected to check in on the forums? Is it once a day? A few times thought the day? Or is it just based on the moderator's availability?
  8. Calm, but at the same time so grandiose, such a unique feel! 9/10 La Danse Macabre - Shovel Knight
  9. A little bit of a slow starter, but becomes something really epic by the end. 8/10 The Invading Tyrant - Monster Hunter World
  10. Quite possibly the funkiest overworld theme in the Xenoblade games, I wonder if the Ardainians dance to this song because you totally could. 9/10 The Watchman of the Gods(Tusk's Theme) - Killer Instinct
  11. My go to game for this kind of discussion is pretty much always Advance Wars. I'm constantly thinking about giving it another shot, but then I think of that agonizingly long chore of a tutorial you're required to play through just to get to the actual game and I lose all interest again. Another big one for me is Dust: An Elysian Tail, a much beloved indie game that's got an absolutely gorgeous art style and solid gameplay mechanics, but it gets repetitive pretty quickly and the difficulty spike around the mid portion of game is absolutely ludicrous.
  12. Super Metroid is one I really need to get back to someday, it's just that I've kind been going in circles for a while and I'm not sure where to go next. There's also a lot of games I start playing at a friends house, but never get to finish. My most recent memory of a game like that was Spider-Man PS4, the game just feels fantastic when you get into a rhythm swinging around New York, but I know I'll probably never get to finish it since I moved so far away.
  13. It's good to hear Torna makes so many improvements. I have purchased the DLC yet, but I always knew that I would get around to it eventually, I'm just tight on cash for the moment so it's not going to be for a little while.
  14. Midna is my favorite companion hands down. She easily the most likable character in the entire game, but lets be honest, when it comes to Twilight Princess there's not much competition against Midna since she got plenty of screen time compared to most.
  15. A very interesting read. I've always liked when developers use outside material to flesh out a game's world, so long as it's not necessary to understand the game proper at least. As for gameplay in XC1 vs. XC2 I'd say the big thing that informs my opinion isn't specifically the gameplay itself(I actually grew to really love the combat once I got used to it), but it's the multitude of systems surrounding the core combat and exploration that bothers me. I'll just start with the elephant in the room, the randomized core crystals are just awful, whatever 5 Star Blades I managed to pick up are the only ones I ever used because once you've got them the common blades are worthless outside of Merc Missions. On a personal note I got screwed over by the crystal RNG hard during my playthrough, I never once pull a 5 Star Blade anytime I got my hands on a legendary crystal which is frankly absurd. I also thought that the Blade's field skills made exploration super tedious, it's not fun having to open up the menu and equip blades to open a door or break open a barrel only to then open up the menu again just to put the Blades you wanted for combat back in your squad. Then add equipment, aux cores, weapon chips, and at least 3 or 4 more types of accessories each having their own separate pages into the mix and it all becomes way to obtuse and more time is spent in the menus just doing prep work than there reasonably should. Aux cores are especially bad since you have to go back to a town to be able to equip them which I find mind boggling, ether crystals in XC1 could be equipped as soon as you got them and you can very quickly get a portable furnace to upgrade them freeing you from traveling back to town in the middle of exploring. I guess the main thesis here is that XC2 had me spending way more time scrolling through menus optimizing my loadouts more than any other game before it. In XC1 you have weapons, armor, and augments all on the same menu, XC2 does not and as a consequence wastes significantly more time. If they had just consolidated certain aspects of customizing your characters it would have bothered me way less than it does, I just want to get back to climbing mountains and slaying monsters as quickly as I can is that really too much to ask for?
  16. I beat the final boss earlier this morning and to be honest it was probably the easiest final boss in the series. Maybe I'm just getting good at these games, but I was able beat it in one go. Thankfully I beat it without any technical difficulties, but thanks for the warning as a future reference. Overall I'm really happy I played XC2, but after some reflection it's still probably my least favorite game in the series so far. I will say it's the best game narrative-wise, but the gameplay has just enough things that annoy me to keep it from surpassing XC1.
  17. I managed to get past the boss fight I was stuck on, thanks for the advice guys. Now all I gotta do I beat the final boss. I had a go at it last night, but I went into the fight controlling Zeke instead of Rex by accident and lost.
  18. After another long hiatus from the game I've been trying to power through Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and I'm getting really close to the end. At this point I can say that the game as definitely exceeded my expectations. It's still not as good as Xenoblade X, but it's currently fighting with Xenoblade 1 for second place, final judgments will be made once I've finished it. Also I could use some advice for getting passed a particular boss fight that's giving me difficultly. If you've played the game and would like to give some advice check the spoiler tag.
  19. He protecc, And he also attacc, But more importantly, he want his kingdom bacc. I like him as a character, but as a unit he can get really bad really quickly if the level up RNG hates you. 7/10
  20. I suppose this is always a good place to start. Personality: A virtuous paragon devoted to an honor/moral code, he could be the knight of a kingdom, a paladin of a church, or a gentleman from a noble house. Probably really stubborn, but always well meaning. Class: If it's not an original class then it's probably a Caviler, maybe a Wyvern Rider, just imagine him charging into battle heroically atop a mighty steed. Role: From a gameplay perspective, he's most likely a regular unit that fills whatever role his class dictates. In a story I see him playing a role similar to that of most early game knights and cavaliers who joins the protagonist because he serves them or is a long time ally from a neighboring land, or he could be a Minerva type character who fights against the protagonist because of blackmail or a hostage that the antagonist uses to control him until he finds a way around it and joins the protagonist's army.
  21. Wish granted, but now everything you throw will come back to you. I wish for a sunny day tomorrow.
