  1. I'd like it but only if it was somewhat minor.

It doesn't feel right to have an avatar that's a mounted unit and then that mount's never interacted with in any way for example. Maybe just have it for the player and they can have so many mounts of each species or something to give them something else to do if they don't quite want to progress with the story. Maybe they could also get things like surges from Awakening and Fates that could give boosts to their own stats that might help provide ideal boosts for the rider in combat. Just to provide a few ideas.

Racing could a fun alternative/compliment to arenas if there was a stamina mechanic for them that's applied both in and out of races to provide some element of strategy in choosing who to place a wager on.

I dunno. I think there could be a nice element of strategy to it providing it's not TOO much of a time sink. It'd need to be able to be optional in the confines of the middle difficulties so it only matters truly for the highest level play for example.

I hate Dr. Pepper because it tastes the same as cough medicine in Hong Kong.

It's a good thing I've never had any Hong Kong cough medicine. I'm pretty sure I'd manage to overdose.

As for my view on the topic...

    Neither/Both.

It's a beverage. Nobody's dying because they both exist.

Also, it's worth noting that anyone using the mobile client won't see these. And it isn't like the user profiles say WHY they like their favorite game or have a poll to show the popularity of each.

Hasn't almost everyone else kinda just listed off their favourites without much reason though?

There's a bit of text underneath a person's avatar that tells everyone what their favourite FE is, making this thread redundant.

    Like so: H8l4EaO.jpg

I looked at this thread's name and wondered if anyone was gonna say anything.

But after seeing this, it dawned on me that people might not actually enter that specific field or as many other people have shared, they may have multiple.

For me, it's pretty even between Awakening and Path of Radiance.

No, pre-DLC history mode used exclusively male Corrin for its story, to the point where none of the base game illustrations even had female Corrin at all. But it's not like they just swapped avatar genders for history mode, male Robin was still used as the "main" Robin (with female Robin as Grima) in the Awakening history map and was also used extensively in Lyn's history map.

That's cool but Awakening literally had the doppelganger thing to go on. And with the whole time travel plot device from Awakening it's just as easy to say that it's the Robin from an alternate timeline where they were born female instead. It's not like anyone other than Chrom's romance has actually been the story focus so they can pull little stunts like that one.

For Corrin in Warriors' story, it feels like they leaned more towards Female Corrin because the emotional aspect may be seen as a more feminine characteristic, whereas for the History Map to unlock Male Corrin, they likely leaned toward the neutral nature of the turmoil anyone may exhibit in that position. As well as likely feeling they had to show his presence off to the player as an unlockable. That seems logical to me.

Granted, they'd probably express it as something far more simplistic than I've described but that's neither here nor there.

well that's because FCorrin and FByleth are sexy anime girls with cool fantasy weapons

as for Robin, Male is more popular simply because Female's body is completely covered under that coat

I feel the same but I feel that covering their body lends to people better exploring their personality differences. Like how Male Robin treats Yarne as an equal and genuinely tries to help him with his fear of... everything. On the other hand Female Robin treats Yarne more like a toy or a pet and instead kinda caves into toying around with him more.

Warriors wasn't developed by IS and character picks to my knowledge weighed more towards KT than IS. So I really doubt the gender choices made were because they were intended as the default options for the respective MUs. The only reason why Female Corn is the main one in Warriors is likely because of how popular she is due to the number of people who are super horny over her default design.

I basically see it going the same way for Byleth too.

The reason I see Robin as a much better example of an Avatar might be because their design for both genders is quite literally the same in terms of clothing. There's no need for the division of opinion because their implementation used the hood to further shroud their identity and make it seem neutral. Corrin's design didn't allow this and Byleth's also doesn't. So you're just gonna get more horny people focusing down the female design with the latter two.

I think a part of it also comes from the personality though.

Both versions of Robin have distinct nuances to their personality that seperate them from each other.
Corrin and Byleth feel like they lack that and thus people focus more on their appearances.

I sorta wonder how Kris might be received by the massively horny side of the fandom. I dunno if there were many differences between gender there because I never got too far into New Mystery.

They still used male Corrin for history mode though so I'm not sure their "choice" to use female Corrin in the story actually counts at all.

Was that not just to give the players access to Male Corrin if they wanted him?

Obviously Lucina 'kills' Robin, if and only if you successfully managed to complete maps 1 and 2 without losing a single child unit of the affore mentioned maps iirc.

You don't need to clear Maps 1 and 2 without losing any of the children. Only Map 3 Which is made harder because you need to manually heal them.

Maps 1 and 2 have their own different endings if you fail to rescue the children in them but the game doesn't check if you did the other maps perfectly because it's entirely possible the player doesn't even have them.

The ending itself is meant to show that the parents are proud of their kids for managing to achieve what they could not, even if they needed help from a different timeline to do it.

  8. Honestly, I think that the methods used for Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green were the best way to handle a remake.

You change next to nothing from the main story and anything that IS changed is very minor and a way to break the slog of just playing through the same game again. Provide the most meat of new content in the post-game and you have a faithful remake that can replace the originals and serve as definitive versions while adding more content to play around with after you've done everything the originals had for you to do.

In fact, it's because of those aspects that's the reason I get so annoyed with Heart Gold and Soul Silver as remakes. They literally forced the Legendary Pokémon into the story and it made less sense to do so. In the originals finding Ho-oh or Lugia wasn't exactly the most difficult thing to do but I'd argue it carried more weight to discover their locations yourself rather than being literally forced to stop your League challenge to go and get them when they never mattered originally.

I don't mind new features being added into remakes but forcing the player to do things they never had to do in the originals if it takes away the player's choice for how they want to play the game.

Last night I had a dream about how Langobait and Manfroy from Game 4 would look if they were in Three Houses and having the ability to perfectly recall my own dreams here they are and strangely enough in The Dream they were both fought on Maddening Difficulty.  What do you think?

I think more than anything, I'm jealous. I never usually recall my dreams and in the case of last night, I actually did. And the problem with that is that I woke up because I dreamed I was being attacked by a Dragonfly. Not even a special one. Just a regular Dragonfly.

But that's not what you're asking so...

I've dug myself into a hole here since I've not played Genealogy to a massive extent...

statwise sure but function wise? Seems the same as like Lissa

An ideal way to balance this would be swap the Axe for a Lance and rebalance the stats to accomodate the change.

It wouldn't be perfect but it'd provide an alternative class to make use of those weapons barring Falcon Knight and Bride.

Realistically the best way to handle that would be to have the average stats lower than Falcon Knight but higher than Bride. That way there's a Drawback to the Falcon Knight in its Bow/Wind weakness and a Strength to the Bride in it having Bows to give players a reason to want to use any of the three classes without having one as inherently better than the others.

    Stay away from people.

Seriously. I work at an "essential" store (maybe 10% of our stock is essential) and we're getting more people than ever. They're completely ignoring warnings and instead just treating the situation like a staycation and buying whatever random bullshit they can at the stores that are still open.

    People suck.

Around here they're limiting how much can be sold to a single person at a time I believe the bread's limited to 2 loaves per person or something like that. I'm bringing that up because it might be wise to try and get things limited to how you can distribute them so that it reduces traffic or something.

Oh yeah, hanging out with my friends.

Effectively this. I don't usually go out much and my friends visiting me is really the form of contact that keeps me sane.

It's been about a week and I'm just blasting through Pokémon games to distract myself. I'm already on my 3rd game!

So, this was inspired by the thread about Yoko Shimomura. Have you ever listened to a composer's music and thought to yourself: "Man, I really wanna hear them score a Fire Emblem game"?

No, but I'd happily listen to Jun Senoue composing some thematic songs for the series. Probably wouldn't be out of place in another Warriors game honestly.

Tagging previous run watchers @Nym @DisobeyedCargo @deskita @ChickenWings @ElectiveToast @Light Strategist so you can join in on the masochism and take a sip of soft drink or more healthily water every time I tell Grima off in this playthrough.

Y'know, I don't actually recall watching any of them but hell, I've got a lot more free time as of the Prime Minister stopping the unnecessary flow of people in this country so unless I'm playing Pokémon I've got more time to watch it.

Also, I don't think there's enough soft drink in the building judging on the duration of a Lunatic playthrough.
