Nitpick: Thracia's a midquel, not an interquel. "Inter-" means between, so an interquel comes between two separate works, while a midquel comes in the middle of one. Any idea whether C25's reinforcements are actually infinite? I gave up counting once I got to turn 51 and they kept coming.

Pretty much all of my favourites got axed. "Dexit" didn't affect me at all. Game's still fun. Not like I ever really used my favourites in new generations anyway, not when there are new Pokémon to discover. Besides, all signs are pointing to D/P remakes this gen, which I've been looking forward to ever since 5th-gen didn't have remakes.

"The war", not just any war. Edelgard initiated an unprovoked war of conquest. That's not the same as the Laguz Alliance seeking revenge for the destruction of Serenes Forest. It's much closer to the destruction of Serenes Forest in the first place. If Edelgard didn't want the war, people wouldn't see her as a villain.

Two things. Firstly, what's your point? Sure, Dimitri and Claude may have independently started the war later, but... they didn't. Edelgard did. That's why she's the villain. Secondly, I'm unconvinced that Edelgard didn't want the war. In CF, she clearly sees herself as using the Agarthans to achieve her own ends of defeating Rhea and establishing her meritocracy. She wanted the war just as much as those other people you mentioned. Again, that's why she's the villain. (Also, you made a typo, referring to Hubert as the head of House Varley, when it should be Vestra.)

This. Exactly. She's a Knight Templar. She "knows" she's right, and that - in her mind - makes everything she does right. Her meritocracy is the only right way for a society to be; therefore, the other nations of Fódlan must be forced to adopt it. Thus, her war is justified. Rhea is an "inhuman beast"; therefore, she has to be destroyed. It's okay to lie to her allies for convenience when the Agarthans destroy Arianrhod, but it wasn't okay for Seiros to lie for convenience as part of the end of the war against Nemesis and the Elites. The Agarthans are minor villains by comparison. I think that's why Crimson Flower is complete without fighting them. The climax is when Edelgard and Rhea, the main characters of the conflict, face each other. Forcing the game to carry on past that point would just drag the story out past its welcome. Plus, her allying with the people she hates shows her priorities: conquest first, then revenge. It also illustrates her arrogance, which is her principal flaw: she sees the Agarthans as a non-threat. Even after she's surprised by their show of force, three seconds later she's convinced herself that the knowledge of what they can do is an advantage. That's why I think she's better with her backstory: it illustrates her character flaw. EDIT: It also ties in to her need for control. She frames it as having to choose which enemy to fight first: church or Agarthans. She chooses the Agarthans as an ally against the church because that gives her some measure of influence over them, which is something that she wouldn't get over the church if she chose the other way around. Edelgard's a great character, but people really need to stop believing that the fact that you can join her makes her not a villain.

I think you need to differentiate between Feh's definitive announcements and Feh's in-character fluffy rambling. IIRC, what she said is "Something tells me we probably won't become friends... ever," which doesn't seem like a definitive "Hel will never be summonable" announcement to me. (I think it's pretty clear that you don't need to be friends with someone to summon them, as demonstrated by most of the playable villains.)

Reading how you reacted to playing SDatBoL and Gaiden back-to-back is like looking in a mirror. I didn't do as much optimising of convoy and stuff in FE1 as you did, but I had the same sort of feeling that Gaiden was just far nicer to play than FE1. Of course, I didn't hate the desert and swamp maps as much as you did. I'm doing a similar thing to you to play through all the older games that I missed, though I'm going to be limited by legal availability of some of the localised games (Tellius rrgh), and I'm doing it by continent rather than all in release order, so it'll be interesting to see how your experience with each game compares to mine.

I only got Jeritza on my CF file, though that's only at C13. The leak would suggest that, if not a typo, it's at least misleading. EDIT: Anna has the (major) Crest of Ernest, as expected. Her personal skill gives her Lck +5. Strengths in Sword, Axe, Bow and Faith; weaknesses in Reason and Authority; Budding Talent in Riding. She joins as a level 42 Thief in C22, lol.

I would like the writing to continue to improve. Other than that, I have no specific desires, just guesses. Based on @Ice Dragon's statements that the game is probably planned to run for five years (with possible extension), I'm guessing that there are 5 pre-planned story Books, so any loose threads from Books I-III should be tied up by then. Because of that, I expect that Bruno will not be a major player in Book IV (though Veronica may be dragged in by Loki). This book looks like it'll be exploring more of the cosmic world surrounding Askr and Embla, what with Thórr being a thing, and Alfaðor being mentioned as her and Loki's boss. Who Eir's parents were may also tie in. I hope that Book V comes back to earth and deals with the four dragons of the kingdoms of Zenith, hopefully tying up Bruno and Veronica's stories and leading to their base forms being made playable (and Élivágar and Valaskjálf better be refinable). For non-story-related hopes, I want grindable Refining Stones and Sacred Coins. I realise that most people have enough to do everything they need to with what we get, but I have an obsessive need for completionism that triggers every time I look at the Weapon Refinery menu and see so many skills still to be learned... Putting these on the Lunatic levels of the Training Tower would help make that mode somewhat relevant again. Also skill shop, using Arena Medals. That would be great. Maybe Bruno could send us a letter about yet another shrine where the ancients figured out how to transmute useless junk into training manuals.

Huh, I didn't realise so many people don't like GC. I'm with @Humanoid; the margin for error for all the rewards is too small for me (as in, impossible without doing Infernal or staying up past midnight on three of the days). Plus I don't have good enough EP units to autobattle even Lunatic.

I said that saying Silas is better than Xander while handicapping Xander by denying him a resource that nobody else competes for is unfair to Xander. @Flere210 The point is more that it's a comparison between units with similar roles (so Lewyn vs. other infantry mages : Xander vs. other cavalry). I guess I wasn't clear on that one.
