  1. I couldn't help myself, I got a bit greedy trying to get the other units I wanted from the banner instead of counting my blessings and saving my orbs. I still got 3/4, but now I'm without orbs for whatever the next New Heroes and skill banners end up being. My final haul ended up being Gunnthra (unknown boon/bane, forgot to check before starting to level), Bride Charlotte (+ATK/-RES), Elise (unknown boon/bane), Innes (+DEF/-HP), Sigurd (+HP, -ATK), and two Fjorms (+ATK/-DEF and Neutral). I guess Bunny Lucina will have to go on the list of characters I've actually tried for and failed to get. Crossing my fingers that the next legendary banner doesn't have a bunch of units I actually want like this one did.
  2. I assume they're probably having him as a free unit rather than a banner character as a sign of "generosity" after how much everyone seemed to be complaining about how they handled Christmas, and December in general. That's my assumption, at least. Characters take time to make, the artwork especially having to likely be done in advance, so it's not like they can just make another unit to give away for free at the drop of a hat.
  3. I could be wrong, but I remember hearing that Corrin would be a reward for completing a certain event in January. It was on the JP FEH Twitter, can't check right now. Anyway, I'd assume the reason Corrin isn't on the gauntlet is because the event to obtain him has not happened yet, which would put his team at a distinct disadvantage as they would be unable to use him to earn bonus points, not just because he's not on the banner.
  4. Welp. I stand corrected. They are going to hold a VG in the middle of a TT. And with seasonals. Dang. I guess I'll support Lissa, since I actually have her, and I married her in my first Awakening playthrough. Can't wait to have her sit in the back while my borrowed units do all the work, because armour. If she goes down, I'll go to Robin.
  5. Huh, I could have sworn it ran during the overlap between the summer banners, but I guess not. Though going back and checking it, Yllisean Summer ended on the day the Voting Gauntlet started, which I wouldn't exactly call "well after". So unless they're planning on starting the VG on New Years, while a Tempest is still going, I'm still guessing it won't be it. I could very easily be wrong though, seeing as we have no real indication of what it will be.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the summer seasonals voting gauntlet occurred while both summer banners were still running, since they usually have banners for people to pull for the gauntlet characters. Meanwhile, the New Years banner only has, like, a day of overlap with the Christmas banner. Having a Christmas vs. New Years gauntlet would mean either not having a banner to pull for half of the teams' bonus units, which would be kind of a dick move, or rerunning the Christmas banner in the middle of January, like someone who doesn't bother to take down their Christmas lights. So, I don't really have any predictions for what the gauntlet will be, seeing as there's no real way to guess in advance, but I'm guessing it won't be Christmas vs. New Years.
  7. Can't remember exactly how many orbs I spent, but it was probably 70-something. Got a Gunnthra and a Fjorm. A character I got for free, and a character that could potentially be free in the future for story reasons. I don't know how to feel about this. Any future pulls I do will probably be impulse pulls, because there's no one I really "need" on the banner that I'd continue dropping orbs past my usual limit for, and I need to start saving up again for whatever comes after New Years. EDIT: I ended up doing an impulse pull before bed. Got Bride Charlotte and Elise. While I would like Spring Lucina and Innes, I think that's me done with this banner. Don't wanna push my luck too hard. Good luck to everyone else still making their pulls.
  8. I would think Xander's pool toy is pretty light as well. I can't imagine that making too much of a dent when you hit someone with it.
  9. Welp, pretty sure most everyone saw this one coming. At least, that's what it seemed like when we had a topic speculating this before it was even announced. I probably won't end up pulling from it. I do rather like the Hoshidans, at least more than their Nohrian counterparts, but I don't have much of a taste for seasonal units. Unless there's a unit I really like, and they have really good art, and they don't share their colour with another unit, then I can pretty safely skip this one and have a go at the legendary banner instead. No random impulse pulls like I did for Christmas. Good luck to anyone who plans on pulling from the banner.
  10. I said yes to the town building stuff, no to the real-time PvP and coop, and "I don't know what that is" to advancing for how long the game is off or whatever. I enjoyed the My Castle feature in Fates from a gameplay standpoint, and it feels like it wouldn't get too in the way of the story here. Meanwhile, I'm not too big on multi-player, not helped by the fact that I'm Australian and most of my friends online are American, so if PvP or coop was added as a mode, I likely wouldn't use it. And then for the last one, I'm familiar with modes/games where things advance in real time, but I've never seen a mode before that relies on the game being off, so I didn't really know what to think of that.
  11. Y'know, this is probably a coincidence, but so far, we have a water Legendary Hero who's a blue unit, and a wind Legendary Hero who's a green unit. And if Laevatein defects like some people have been expecting, then we'll have a fire Legendary Hero who's a red unit. It probably won't stay that way, but it's kinda amusing that it's ended up that way so far.
  12. Hm, not sure how I feel about this banner. I pretty much just skipped the last Legendary Hero banner because they gave us a free Fjorm and I didn't really care about the rest of the units, but now we have a new legendary hero with no mention of her being free. I do rather like the OCs in the game, but she shares her colour with Amelia, a character I already have, and Spring Chrom, a character I don't really care about. Blue and colourless also have units I might be interested in (Spring Lucina, Bride Charlotte, and Innes), but they also hold units I don't really care about. I dunno. I think I might hold off on pulling from this banner until we see what the banner after Winter's Envoy is, so I can see if there's anything on it I should be saving for. That'll also give me time to see how they handle Gunnthra in terms of the story and such, if she plays any role in it whatsoever.
  13. ...Welp. I was really hoping for Tobin, but I suppose he'll get his chance another day. Not like I'm in a hurry to fill in the catalog of heroes, considering all the seasonals I've skipped, but it'd be nice to have him. Anyway, I'm thankful for that Lissa I managed to pull. Probably gonna have to try and run my makeshift armour emblem team for the Tempest, since the only times I've actually managed to get all the rewards has been when I had a 40% bonus unit. Thankfully, none of them have maxed out hero merit yet. Guess I'll just end up merging the Maskths, since I obviously can't use them for inheritance.
  14. I mean, Masked Marth is an Awakening character who got reran in a Blazing Blade Tempest, so it's entirely possible they're not taking as much care to make sure the reruns match the theme of the Tempest. Otherwise the TT Minis would basically just be repeating the main Tempests over again. So, my money's on Tobin. Or at least, I hope it's Tobin, I started after his Tempest so he's the only one I don't have.
  15. I normally don't pull from seasonal banners (aside from the dancer one), but I was feeling pretty good today and getting into the Christmas spirit, so on an impulse, I went and did a full pull, after already taking my free pull earlier (4* Sheena). Very glad I did. Lissa is +HP, -DEF, Faye is +SPD, -RES. Lissa was the character I wanted most from the banner, mainly because I like her art and I married her in my first Awakening playthrough, so I'm glad I managed to get her. Might have to take one of my reds off of my ragtag armour team so I can actually use her. Ironically, I pulled Christmas Lissa so quickly, and yet I've never managed to pull a regular Lissa, I only have the free ones from the Hero Battles. Not sure what I'm gonna do with my dupe Faye yet. Firesweeps are apparently good, but my only other 5* archer is another Faye, so that's not gonna work. Might just merge her, but I'll hold onto her for now in case I decide to do something else with her.
  16. Valbar seems to have gotten fairly popular after SoV, too. At least, that's the impression I got.
  17. From my perspective, a Christmas banner is a summer banner. Clearly she's celebrating Christmas the southern hemisphere way. ; )
  18. The most obvious choices for unique fliers (Aversa & Reina) have already been mentioned, so I'll just say I agree with including those. For cavalry, bows aren't technically seasonal, but we only have one so far, and Elibe's Nomads and Tellius' Bow Knights could fill that out nicely. Yukimura could fill out a niche that seasonals haven't even touched yet, being dagger cavalry. I know his puppet isn't technically a horse, but we've gotten a flier on a broom and knights without armour through the seasonals, so I'd call it close enough to count for the sake of variety. For armours, I know Jugdral's Barons can use magic, but having not played the games, I don't know of any except for Gen 2 Arvis (EDIT: Apparently Arvis isn't a Baron, but is still a tome armor, so close enough). As for bow armours, though, I'd be in favor of classing Archanea's Ballisticians as armours. The FE wiki claims the class is "defined by high Defense and attack range that are offset by low Movement". High defense and low movement sounds pretty armour-like to me. Bonus points if their sprite has a giant version of their bow of choice mounted on the ballista.
  19. I went ahead and checked, and at least for the English trailers, the Legendary Hero trailer and the Children of Fate trailer did not end with preview of a new chapter/paralogue, so this is the first time we've seen Fjorm taking Virion's place.
  20. Random tidbit that doesn't really matter, but it seems Fjorm has replaced Virion as the fourth player unit in the new hero videos. R.I.P. Virion.
  21. I'm not sure how when she was intended to release removes the chance for her to wear something silly. It's like saying I "never had a chance" to fail a subject in school just because I passed it. The chance still existed, it's just that it's now passed, and they decided to not go with that option. Escpecially given how little of Tharja's outfit you could actually see in the original datamined images, we could have easily speculated that she was wearing something more than what we now know she is.
  22. So... apparently Santa outfits = armour? Tharja just doesn't look like she's wearing enough to be an armour unit to me. I'm not really into event units all that much, but I do rather like Lissa and Chrom's artwork. I'll probably use my free pull on green and then continue saving orbs. Armours just aren't really what I need at the moment. Although, I kinda love how, as with the spring festival, Chrom really doesn't seem to be getting into the spirit of the season.
  23. I do think the next CYL event will end up coming with another ballot, if only because of the way Feh phrases it in the latest Feh Channel. "You all like me, right? I need to start getting ready for the next Choose Your Legends event!" The first sentence sounds to me like it's asking, "You guys are going to vote for me, right," and would seem really out of place if she were just talking about including more heroes from the existing results. Anyway, mainly what I would want changed from another ballot is not splitting votes between different versions of a character, like how all the SD/MotE and PoR/RD characters had their votes split. I'm not even really a fan of any of those games, but it seems a bit unfair to those characters to rank lower because of how the voting was counted, even though Ike managed to win the men's side of the ballot with the split in place. Also either excluding the previous winners, or simply ignoring their placing if they win again, but that part's obvious.
  24. Oscar says Hi. ~~~ Anyway, I'm guessing they're going to continue riding the Awakening/Fates train this year, and then we'll start getting pre-3DS event characters next year, after the game's been out for a decent while and the 3DS fans have had some time to be exposed to pre-3DS characters. Or something along those lines, I don't know how I came up with that justification and it probably makes no sense but oh well. As with many others, I'm guessing male Corrin will be the male on the Fates side, and then for the female I'm guessing either Hinoka, because Hoshido neglect, or Felicia, because ice.
  25. TBH, so that they don't have to move the story along too quickly to introduce new Heroes, or get villains out of the picture so they can be recruitable, I wouldn't mind if the next few Legendary Heroes were actually the Askr trio being upgraded to give an elemental blessing. Plus, they'd then show up on a banner, and people who want merges for them or an actual boon/bane can pull for them. Although, they don't allow us to send home the Askr trio, while they do allow us to send home Fjorm, so I'm not sure how they'd handle that. Although if the Askr trio aren't going to be Legendary Heroes, then I don't think I'd want to the Embla duo to be either, and instead leave it to these elemental kingdoms or whatever.
