Judging from what estimates have shown, I think we’ve already seen most of what the Ballot is bringing: returning veterans, Inkling, Ridley, and K. Rool were probably at the top, while anyone at the Chrom or Ashley level made it in as an echo if possible, AT/boss/etc. if not. Simon doesn’t appear to have had much support on the Ballot, so he seems safe to call a Sakurai pick (and Richter moreso obviously). The only remaining characters I can see being anywhere close to K. Rool are Geno and Isaac, if that. Not to say Simon or characters like Dixie or Isabelle are unpopular or anything either, just not big Ballot names. I also think as far as recent characters go, we’re still due for a Sun/Moon Pokemon and a Xenoblade character, the latter likely being Elma. I know people see newer characters as promotion, but I always think about something Sakurai said back in Brawl: to some people, the newer games are their first games, and that’s where their memories lie.

Was gonna go with Hector right away since he’s a monster of an armored lance and I need one, but Ephraim with DC looks like an even more complete package.

It’s definitely less popular than it used to be, but I still see it on Hectors and dragons in GC. I’ve actually been caught by it a few times there since I’m so used to QR3 now.

I really like these. -- Level cap raises are whatever, just more grinding. -- Infinial Blessing means there's actually a game to play once you've maxed everyone out. I've always wanted to see patches for RPGs that make you run through an entire game with your fully-decked out units (NG+ or otherwise) and where the enemies are similarly maxed out. Heroes comes close, I suppose. -- 720 power on any weapon is basically a graphic mod, so yay. -- Deleveling is another way to replay the game without having to unlock everything again, woo. Would be better to just let the player pick a current level and a temporary cap, but this is okay. Handicapping is always a good thing. -- Strategist Blessing sounds neat, should essentially turn it into an RTS-lite where you yourself can run around and distract enemies or activate switches and whatnot. Would be great if you could limit the damage restriction to one character if you've got, say, an expert playing with a beginner. Also looking forward to Almost Nude Emblem and three of my favorites from Awakening.

I mean sure, Elma's chances are lower in the sense that she has actual competition within her own franchise, but most of the arguments I'm seeing for X2 stuffs are actually pretty weak given previous content decisions.

@Dragoncat Full disclosure: I almost never read fiction. Only poked my head into that other thread because it had Xenoblade in the name, and only posted at first because yay Reyn and yay sexings. But it'd be shallow of me to offer encouragement to write from the heart and then not support it afterwards, so I gave it a quick read. Overall, I dig it. Bearing in mind that I'm no literary expert (not that that'd necessarily validate anything I say), here's some thoughts: -- Your writing style is great. Descriptive without being verbose, more showing than telling, natural dialogue, it's all there and it's easy to focus on what's presented. -- In response to @Armagon: I like that the story jumps from meeting to marriage, especially if the Reyn and Gamma parts are really just a set-up for the next generation to take over. Also not detailing the dating sequence leaves things up to the reader to imagine and for the writer to hint at here and there. "Did I ever tell you about the time your mom got arrested for indecency?" "Uh..." "Yeah yeah, some other time. Look, if you're gonna borrow the car, keep it above half." -- I'm guessing you started this story around Eryth Sea since you mention the High Entia Tomb trap that Reyn sets off. The differences between your story and what ends up happening in the game put a smile on my face. Then again, I'm a sucker for dramatic irony and the real-life context behind this case is a hoot. -- On that same token, I enjoy your original characters more than the source ones. Is this a matter of expectation? ("not enough British slang, I hate this Reyn") Nah. It might just be that the more it goes into new territory, the more my curiousity is piqued. I'd argue Steady Stance is rarer than Distant Def considering only one summonable unit gets SS3 compared to three for DD. Even for anyone who still has a 4* BK, they may prefer to save him so someone can inherit Steady Breath and Aether from a single Ike.

I'm counting Arena/AA in my "stops anything that isn't blue" statement. She handles Ayra and Celica just fine. Not at the same time of course, she'll get worn down usually, but in general? Yeah, she does that. That's the beauty of mixed bulk and poop speed. People have been running CC without Wary Fighter on Jakob since Christmas. It works. Yes, there are times where it doesn't, just like any other build in the game, but generally speaking it's very effective. Don't write off practiced methods just because of theories and calculators.

I'm okay with any changes, honestly. Canon should never get in the way of YOUR story. It's actually a good thing that you're writing it without seeing how things play out, too many fans in general get too hung up on sticking to a story that's already been written instead of asking "well, what if?" Regarding smut: all sex is great to me. It's an exciting thing that comes from an extremely personal part of a creator's heart and soul. Enjoy it! Explore it! Celebrate it! Sexuality is love, and in the words of Venture Bros., love is not private, love is to be shared. Doesn't matter if it's romantic hetero missionary or massive orgies of extreme fetishistic insanity, keep it.
