  1. The difference lies in respect to the franchise. Randomized encounters and player choice team compositions are acceptable outliers that fall under the net of this being a video game with impossible to establish boundaries. Dressing Robin like Santa Claus, on the other hand, has nothing to do with the franchise's setting whatsoever, doesn't fit within any canon ingame event, doesn't provide a reasonable "what if" scenario, and denegrates the character. In any other medium, such a thing would be appalling. If one were watching Game of Thrones and Jon Snow suddenly donned a bunny suit to fight the Night King, that might raise a few eyebrows.
  2. Butlers and maids are actual careers that actually exist in the setting though. If anything, it's more jarring that previous nobles didn't have them. There's a huge leap from "servants exist and can fight" to "Chrom is a bunny now, because lols."
  3. Highly dislike them. I hate having my immersion broken, and nothing does that faster than seeing my favorite characters share space with someone in a bunny costume. The only exception is Performing Arts, if that even counts. These outfits were tasteful, fit with the setting, and one of them was even canon.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most of the survivors of Ashera's judgement owe their survival to Yune's protection?
  5. That's pure speculation though. We do not know if Grima is even capable of interdimensional or interplanetary travel or if he had ambitions to do so. And in terms of power, Ashera dwarfs everything. She turned almost the entire population of the continent - if not the entire world - into stone in a mere moment.
  6. Yes. He has done more. Saving the world and defeating the most powerful character in the entire Fire Emblem universe (Ashera). But I do hope we get our legendary Marth soon. He deserves it.
  7. Of which Ike has done more than every other protagonist, including Marth. And yes, every bloody protagonist deserves legendary status, because they've all achieved legendary feats.
  8. Ike doesn't deserve legendary status? The guy who united warring races, won two continent-sweeping wars, saved a nation, and then saved literally all of humanity by leading an army to defeat a god doesn't deserve legendary status? Are you actually joking? You can say "I don't like Ike," and that's your opinion, but in terms of achievements, Ike is one of, if not the, most accomplished characters in the series besides Naga herself. He IS a legend. Whether or not you like that legend is irrelevant. And no, I wasn't implying that 6 and 7 should be bundled. The intent was that Mark could justifiably be made into a full playable avatar with a canon appearance with either. Granted, he didn't exist in 6. However his death after the events of 7 was not confirmed, as far as I'm aware. As such, he would probably still be around and could still play a role if IS is careful in avoiding a Kris-style hijacking of the story and conversations.
  9. That seems like something that would only happen as part of a FE6/7 remake. If that happens though, I'm curious as to whether they would even keep the name Mark. All of the other avatars have gender neutral names, after all.
  10. I'm predicting Levin. It's wishful thinking on my part, but he's popular, overpowered, plot important, and part of both Geneology and Thracia. He deserves legendary status.
  11. Highly disappointed in this banner. F!Robin should not be Robin's legendary form, and certainly not as Grima. Green is 2/3 seasonal, and therefore gets an automatic skip from me. Red would be great, but the chance of getting an unwanted Nowi (my least favorite character in the entire franchise) kills it for me. Blue is great.
  12. Alternate versions of characters are fine, IMO. They allow people to enjoy alternative sides of the character or to have that character at a different point in their storyline. Nor do I feel like they take away from new characters, as alts make up a relative minority of the roster. I only hate seasonal alts. Fire Emblem deserves better than immersion breaking swimsuits and bunny costumes.
  13. Camus isn't actually a villain though. He's a loyal soldier on the wrong side of the war. That doesn't even constitute an anti-villain, frankly, but rather a misplaced hero - the same as the Nohrian siblings. Warriors is/was an opportunity to add depth to his character and the underdeveloped Archanean setting in general by forcing him into a situation in which he has to cooperate with Marth to return home. Having supports with Marth and the others would be fascinating. Keep in mind that even Minerva is treated as antagonistic in some supports, as she appears to have been transported from a time before turning her back on Michalis and Macedon. Just look at how she speaks of Archanea in the Linde support.
  14. I didn't even necessarily say that Arvis was the rapist in this case. If anything, that label belongs to Manfroy, for setting it up.
  15. That depends on how one would classify having one's memory wiped and being unknowingly set up into having children with your own half-brother by the machinations of an evil cult. In a sense, by withholding such information from her, the answer to that question could be yes.
  16. I had to give it to Lucina. Not only did she lose her parents, but she had to endure the bad ending in which all of her friends and family would die, with the entire world plunged into ruin. Bonus points if Robin is her husband or mother, which makes her iconic moment of choice so much more painful. The closest runner up would probably be Seliph. Like many lords, he can claim a dead father. How many other lords can claim that their mother has been kidnapped, hypnotized, and raped to birth the chosen vessel of a dark god, however?
  17. Well, the longest written work in the English language is a Super Smash Bros. Brawl Subspace Emissary fanfiction (at several million words long), so it has to count as lore to someone.
  18. You can have Dheginsea as a legendary if I can get Nasir... at all. No but seriously. Dheginsea would be a perfect legendary, as would Tibarn, Chaenegis, Giffca, and Naesala.
  19. Yes. I rarely play online, so SSB4 was hugely disappointing for me.
  20. By moveset: Thief - New moveset involving daggers. Melee and ranged attacks. Ignores the weapon triangle. Strong Attack I and Dual Attack sends out a wave of daggers that lower the defense and resistance of all struck foes; this stacks with Luna. Gaius (Awakening) - Very similar stats to Anna. His personal skill is Sweet Tooth, which causes vulneraries to also restore 1 full Warrior gauge and 25% of Awakening Gauge. Kaze (Fates) - A support/pair up thief. Highest strength, skill, and speed. Low luck. Middling hp, defense, and resistance. His personal skill is Miraculous Save, which restores Health and Awakening gauges to the Vanguard partner when Dual Guard triggers. His personal weapon is Kaze's Needle. Jacob/Felicia (Fates, alternate costumes of each other, like with male/female Robin and Corrin) - The magic thieves. Low strength. High magic, luck, and resistance. Middling hp, speed, defense. Can equip staves. Their personal skill is Devoted Partner, which causes Staves to also restore 25% Awakening Gauge; if paired with Lianna's Live to Serve, this will also restore Awakening Gauge to the user. Their personal weapon is Flame Shuriken. Lance Paladin - new moveset involving a mounted lance user. Slow, far reaching attacks supplemented by quick jabs. Strong Attack I dashes forward, impaling foes in your path and dragging them to your destination; this can be held to charge further. Camus (Shadow Dragon) - as the pioneer of this moveset, Camus would bring excellent, well rounded stats similar to Xander or Ryoma. His personal skill is Noble Cause, which increases damage output if the user is the Vanguard unit. His personal weapon is Gradivus. Fighter - new moveset involving standard, non-magical axe infantry. Involves quick, short range Light attacks, while late stage combos involve slower wide sweeps or heavy slams. Strong Attack I spins in place, cleaving foes in all directions and can be held to continue spinning. Barst (Shadow Dragon) - Middling strength. High speed, skill, and luck. Low defense, resistance, and magic. His personal skill is Berserk, which boosts Strength, Skill, and Luck by 10 for 30 seconds after landing a critical hit. His personal weapon is Barst's Hatchet. War Cleric - Lyssa's axe moveset. Libra (Awakening) - As compared to Lyssa, Libra would have much higher strength, skill, hp, and defense, slightly lower luck, and much lower magic, speed, and resistance. Can equip staves. His personal weapon is Breath of Life, which has a chance (based on Luck) to restore (1) staff of vulnerary charge on critical hit. His personal weapon is Libra's Axe. This would equal out to (3) new movesets and (1) clone of an existing moveset. While optimistic, I think it might have been doable, with 3 characters to populate the new dagger moveset. If daggers are to be added, they need to be added in sufficient numbers to justify adding new equipment. I highly disagree with them using swords, as that presents gearing issues. The game already has so many sword characters that valuable skills like Plateslayer are already an excessively rare and precious resource for prf swords. The other two new movesets would be valuable if a sequel or further dlc comes to pass, as they are excellent core franchise movesets. Barst's fighter moveset would be a great preparation for Boyd, Nolan, Bartre, Dorcas, or any other warrior; it's too common to not have. The lance paladin moveset would make way for one of the most common unit types in the main franchise. Consider these foundational movesets.
  21. As did I. My apologies. Decidueye seems like a fan favorite for a new generation Pokemon. It's certainly my favorite starter since Gen 3 (the last generation I actually enjoyed before I grew out of the franchise). We could use a grass type, and its arrow mechanics could make it play differently from existing Pokemon. Character representation is a tricky topic. Recent relevance is key, but we also get plenty of historical characters (like ROB, Ice Climbers, and G&W) who aren't relevant to modern Nintendo but do celebrate tradition. Hell, one could argue that Captain Falcon and other characters from dead franchises are only here for tradition's sake. Nintendo is clearly open to representing the past, even if they are prioritizing the future.
  22. I don't even remotely want Female Robin as a legendary. Female Corrin, sure. But not F!Robin.
  23. As far as Nintendo Warriors goes, perhaps they could just change Ganondorf to his Warriors incarnation. He needs to no longer be a less viable Captain Falcon and Warriors Ganondorf is his best incarnation yet with an awesome appearance and incredible moveset potential.
  24. 1. FE Switch Lord 2. Phoenix Wright/Alt. Miles Edgeworth 3. Isaac (Golden Sun) 4. Rex (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) 4. Decidueye 5. Rayman 6. Spring Man (with Arms characters as costumes) 7. King K. Rool 8. Sylux (Metroid) 9. Alm & Celica (tagteam in the vein of Ice Climbers) 10. Paulina (Super Mario Odyssey)
