  1. From what I remember from my HHM ironman, I sent everyone to the right as fast as I could, with Harken (I seem to remember his brave sword wrecking her) and Pent sent to assassinate Ursula, while the rest rushed the throne room, and tried to secure a path to Jaffar and whatever chests survived (although this strategy is leaving that side of the map up to whatever luck Jaffar can muster). Never luring Maxime, and ending reinforcements as quickly as possible were my prime objectives with this strategy. As luck would have it, on my winning ironman run Jaffar would survive (fully breaking his killer sword, and sitting on a pillar by the end...).
  2. The one time I bother to get it, I had forged a Gradivus and set up a trade chain with it to use two triangle attack crits with it, with the right number of attacks in between to make them both work, but I needed quite a few turn wheel uses to get everyone involved in that maneuver to survive...
  3. I was thinking about this moment the entire time you were going through the ending of that support... I find that getting greedy with the dragon veins is one of the most dangerous things you can do on this map... Percy's personal giving +15 crit avoid to allies within 2 really helps alleviate that issue... Oof, first rescue staff fully depleted...
  4. It would just be another way to access Fighter, as Fighter isn't Corrin's primary class Now if someone with fighter as their primary class marries Keaton, you would instead get the paraellel class for Wolfskin, which is outlaw. (parallel class list can be found here: https://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/classes/parallel-classes/) To take this technicality further, if someone with a restricted class that has no parallel class (so Corrin, or Kana...) marries someone with the same primary class as the secondary class they get the parallel class of that secondary class (so for a more specific example, lets say a Corrin with Fighter talent, marries Charlotte/Arthur, then Charlotte/Arthur gets access to Fighter's parallel class, Oni Savage, meanwhile Corrin gets another way to access Fighter) In the unlikely event that this occurs when both the primary is restrict, has no parallel class, the partner has the same secondary class, and that secondary class also has no parallel class then they can't use the seal at all. See below: My comment before really was a brain fart about the Awakening kids, as I know far more about this system than I should.
  5. I have been getting the rest of these parts out fairly quick, so just a warning it will be a few more days still before I get the next one out. The only way he can counter attack is if I miss, so the odds of him dealing that damage is the chance I miss (.44) times his chance to hit (.45) which is .198, just under 20%. It wasn't a big change, but it was a notable enough threshold to make me feel more comfortable. ...???... Ouch...I mean it is a little surprising to see enemies move off of a seize point, as it leaves the map open to cheesy early seize strats... And people act like Ruby isn't a great unit. ...I wonder...Do characters start with any Luck? Its a little unfortunate that only those that can wield accessories can use them. I guess that one is personal gear for Faye at the moment, but if I ever get access to more... Seeing as she is sitting on the lowest health cheap horse I have, even if they worked it would not have been a big long-term loss (I am not entirely sure it would have been much of a short-term loss either, as it would make me less reluctant to send her over the cliffs to attack the reinforcements on that side...)
  6. Ah, I see my confusion, since they both have the same primary class it transitions to her secondary. I was thinking about what happens if his secondary class was her primary, where it just gives you a second way to access the same class.
  7. Sorry, seems I fell quite a few posts behind I hate that type of anxiety, it always feels stupid when you just take the plunge, and everything is just fine. Normally it would be 2 sorcerers and 2 heroes, but you might have blocked some. Revelation doesn't even feel like the same world as the other two all the time... ...How is Laslow getting access to Falcon Knight? I thought Azura was dead, and I think her (or Corrin) is his only source of it. This is by far the hardest part of this map, and the one place where I see the illusion mechanic being a notable hindrance (instead of minor inconvenience, if not an outright boon to players...). Six turns is very fitting, as I have seen a fairly basic starts listed out for how to use the winds to clear it with a fairly normal team in that time frame (although it suggested you keep going to grab the rest of the treasure, and levelup some key units. for those curious
  8. New Mystery of the Emblem Lunatic Reverse is incredibly difficult (and I consider the hardest, as its hard to cheese). Awakening Lunatic+ is made from bullshit (but cheesable if you know what you are doing, so would not recommend); Three Houses Maniac probably worth some kinda mention, but I burned out on that game which clouds my objectivity about it. Conquest Lunatic is a satisfyingly hard difficulty Thracia 776 is famous for being aggressively unfriendly to blind players (although if you know what you are doing its not that hard, despite its reputation);
  9. There was a lot of talk about ironmanability standards, and I know I am in the minority in thinking that blindplay shouldn't be considered in how ironmanable a game is (I do recognize the irony of doing a blind ironman LP of Berwick Saga while saying this, but that is more to spice up the LP than something I would generally do on a blind run otherwise...), and as such ambush spawns have less of an impact, what I find more important to ironmanability is: How well the game gives you the units, and resource to recover from losses; How manageable the gameover conditions are; and Wide amounts of viable counter-play to enemy options. To elaborate with a few examples, I will note that I combined unit and resources into the same category, as they can often be interchanged, loss your early Jagen isn't as big of a deal if you have an early promotion item to make another one, and losing a thief can suddenly cripple your resources irrevocably (FE7 is particularly bad in this regard thanks to how many promotion items it ties to having a thief, and how difficult it is to get the replacement thief without the first thief, I think Benice's FE7 HHM completed soft ironman with a 6% survival is an illustrative example of this kind of issue). The gameover conditions can also really hamper the ironamanability of some games, like with the multiple NPC dependent game over conditions of FE7, or the strict gameover conditions of Radiant Dawn as some good examples of what not to do. As for counter-play, people might point to this when talking about ambush spawns, but knowing when and where they could show up due to looking it up, or remember the reinforcements gives you options for dealing with them, from spawn blocking, to leaving specifically units that can deal with them, or just outrunning them. Now there are games that don't let you spawn block, of don't give you the means or rooms to maneuver around them, which would have ambush spawns be part of a negative mark, but not all on their own. As for some other examples lets look at crits, where better ironmable games give you more options for dealing with them, like the crusader scrolls and set supports in Thracia from the start to increase crit avoid, or like the Fates games where you have options to temperarily increase luck, items in all weapon types that increase crit avoid by a lot, the +5 extra crit avoid from all guard stance pairups, not to mention how support bonuses effect attack stance... I think you are overlooking that efficient observation is a skill valuable to ironmans, and that you did learn something beyond a chapter specific feature, its that dangerous staffs/weapons CAN hide behind enemies, so in the future take a quick look at the equipment of paired units as well. I find this to be very similar to learning that you have to keep an eye out for effective weapons, and high crit weapons when looking over a map.
  10. There may be faster ways, but I think the most thorough and reliable way is to just prime factorize the whole thing. There are some tricks to helping with that, seeing an even number means its divisible by two, if all of the digit sum to a number divisible by 3 (you can repeat this if you still have a big number...) its divisible by 3, if it ends in 5 or 0 its divisible by 5. 11 has some tricks for two digit number (repeated numbers), and three digit numbers (sum the out two digits, if its greater than 10 subtract 11, if that is the middle number its divisible by 11). After doing all the easy factoring then start number chugging with other prime numbers on the part of it you are still factorizing, but note you NEVER have to check a number whose square is bigger than the number you are checking. 836 Even, so=> 2*418 Even again, so=> 2*2*209 => Outer two sum to 11, which is >10, so 0 which is the middle number, so => 2*2*11*19 From that we can see its 2*2 and 11*19, or 4*209...
  11. Ah, sorry, the way you worded that made me think you were referencing what you were quoting with that example... Interesting...I doubt I would have figured that out on my own. I wonder how that would change the event...hmm....perhaps I will experiment on a future run... Multiple actually, as Aethin talked about in one of his early comments I meant what it does is strangely specific, ignoring the avoid of one specific terrain type, that isn't even the one with the highest avoid, with some specific weapon types...
  12. I probably should pay for a good meal or two at some point, but my finances have always felt tight enough that it seemed kinda wasteful especially with luck like this. I really managed to give it to the ONLY person who dislikes it... That is kinda disappointing on all counts...
  13. Yes, but I am trying to get across my thoughts as I went through it at the time. I guess that is one way to deal with that issue. Fascinating... I will have to check this out on my next playthrough. I am fairly certain the two supportive users were the first ones I gave Shinon horses to. In fact looking back at my older entries Adel specifically got the first Shinon horse.
  14. There is a spinoff series that is kinda like pokemon, called Monster Hunter Stories... Sorry to hear that. If you want to give it a second chance, I suggest to play around with each of the weapon types a little to try and find one you like, as what type of weapon you are wielding changes the feel of those games...
  15. ...Wow, that is going to be an interesting run isn't it
  16. All the invasions have reinforcements from what I remember... The one with Entrap...yeah that one is cruel, I didn't lose anyone to it, but the first time I played that map the end, and saw it use that was an utterly terrifying experience. Needless to say I remember that maid specifically...
  17. I can see that, as I am liking the guy too, and probably will deploy him even when his amazing utility doesn't make him top of the deployment list... The luck lords giveth and taketh, Horse luck I have, but food luck... It feel like its the opposite, seeing that asshole trying to shit on Ruby's dreams made me want to use her all the more, just to spite Clifford... ...That is actually kinda funny (and terrifying, what could wreck him so thoroughly?) As you will soon see (not sure if it will be one or two updates from now), I had to learn both of those lessons the (kinda?) hard way... Interesting. When I figure out how promotions work in this game, I will keep that in mind... I try my best, but you will have to watch the wild ride we have to get there... To be fair I have also been very cheap with my food too, but my awful food luck hasn't helped either...
  18. ...one rescue use down already. Perhaps necessary, but always a high price to pay... Its things like this that Conquest so great to play. Really you get it as long as Ophelia lives...
