Whoops, probably should have clarified but I was talking about their regular forms, not their seasonal selves so cavalry Elise and flier Catria. During VG most people seem to want colorless allies since it seems to be a hard color to get to finish VG quests and my best colorless unit is Elise who I recently got a +3 merge on but I also have a +6 (soon to be +7) Catria that I have invested in and also don't mind setting as my lead unit if people wanted a blue unit to use. Though I'm not really fussed one way or the other and don't mind changing units if needed.

I have beaten event 51 in melee but that was such a long time ago that I don't exactly remember everything except I think I tricked Giga Bowser into self-destructing himself and then trying to fight Mewtwo or Ganondorf one-on-one and making sure the other one stayed away. I know I spent weeks trying to beat it.

@Xenomata I sent you a friend request. I haven't decided who I will lead with yet. I am still deciding between setting Catria or Elise.

Decided to spend 200 orbs on the Death Blow banner the Legendary banner. Death Blow banner was weird because I was trying to pull only blue to get more Delthea merges but I got pity broken 3 times by red stones. The first two were Swordhardts (one was +Atk,-HP which is probably the best I could hope for) and then got POR Ike (didn't need him so I need to decide if I want to fodder off his Aether to one of my dragons or Celica). Hector's Legendary Banner gave me 2 V!Roys like I thought it would, then F!Morgan and then I ended with Elise (which will bring her to +3 now) before I decided to quit. The search for Grima will have to continue on the next Legendary banner.

Hmm...this must be the first time that there is a VG that doesn't have a character from the 3DS games so I am at a loss of who to join. I still like the theme of Lords versus villians of their perspective games though. I think I will join Marth for round 1 and should he go down I will move over to whoever wins between Sigurd/Arvis.

I don't think it this VG will have the summer units in and just because it has the word Fated in it doesn't mean it is just going to have Fates characters in it. I was also kind of thinking the same thing as @silveraura25 because the first thing that came to my mind when I heard fated battles was main characters versus villains such as Alm vs. Berkut, Marth vs Camus, Roy vs Zephiel or even Chrom vs Grima. Though really these subtitles for VG or so vague sometimes it could mean anything.

Gray is the only color that interest me here since I would like more merges for Elise and I still don't have Legendary Robin and would like to have her so I can complete my dragon emblem team. Not sure if I really want to seriously spend orb though since I already know Valentines Roy will pitybreak me constantly. No Roy, I do not need you for death blow fodder, that is what the death blow banner is for. Also, I kind of wished Winter Lissa was on the banner instead of Myrrh just to make green the perfect color for fodder skills of Distant Counter, Steady Breath and Bold Fighter.

I have only played Awakening, Fates and Echoes but I can relate to your concerns based on my own experiences with franchises outside of FE. Even I wouldn't mind alts of other characters outside the 3DS games even if it's only just so I can not be tempted to waste orbs on a potential new shiny alt of a character I might want. I like Cordelia and would have liked to pull for her summer alt but I have decided to skip her banner because she just had her bridal rerun not that long ago plus I already know other units I want like Owain, Kliff and CYL2 Celica are most likely coming out some time later this year and I want to save as many orbs as possible for them. Even if we don't get Summer Ephraim and Eirika I'm sure there will be more alts of them down the line because surely IS recognize both of them as popular characters like how they realize Lyn is a very popular character.

That is kind of why I specifically mentioned Elise even though I put a strikethrough because I was joking about it because I did knew that Elise had a support in Fates about kimonos but I forgot with whom she had it with.

Now that I think about it all the seasonal banners this year have been split with at least two games represented like @Lushenand @Nanima said. So I guess the next special banner will have at least two games represented again. One will probably be Fates and the other could potentially be any country but Awakening (they wouldn't have two new consecutive summer banners with Awakening characters on both would they?). Then again I'm usually bad at predicting new banner units in general.

Mario Luigi Bowser Yoshi DK Link Ganondorf Pikachu Mewtwo Lucario Samus Fox Marth Kirby Ness Captain Falcon Pit Shulk Villager Inklings If it was twenty-five then Little Mac, Peach, Zelda, Robin, and another Kirby rep (either Meta Knight or King Dedede) would get added as well. I excluded 3rd party characters because they would eat up too many limited slots.

Since last years summer banners are both up now I am really starting to wonder if July's special heroes banner is going to be another beach banner. Maybe they will do something different this time like a fireworks festival or maybe even another Hoshido themed banner like a summer yukata themed banner and they will also throw a random Nohrian character like Elise just for the fun it.

Earlier in the thread I seen people mention the next legendary hero being an axe or green tome unit but wouldn't a green dragon be plausible as well? I know IS already released three green dragons in the last six months but I wouldn't put it past them to throw out another one. Though I don't know who else could be a legendary dragon hero outside of Corrin and Tiki since I never expected Robin to be a dragon unit or a legendary (or both at once for that matter).

Best: Corrin- Always comes out with good stats in everything except Resistance. Starts off in a good class for the start of the game and both promotion are great as well though I prefer Nohrian Noble. Being about to change class to fit your needs is a plus as well. Worst: I feel like I am rather limited in my choices since I only played Awakening/Fates/Echoes but if I had to pick one of them I suppose Celica is the weakest link. Even though she is one of the few lords I like (the other are Alm, Chrom and Eirika) and she is actually good for Chapter 2 of Echoes once I get to the desert and swamp levels Celica rarely sees any more action since the Whitewings and my archers takes care of everything at that point. Having only four movement really hurts her and I really hate that she can't have mage ring and a sword like Beloved Zofia or Ladyblade equipped at the same time and it doesn't help that Celica and Mae want to hold that Mage Ring.

Just a random thought but since it seems like we are still going to be collecting gym badges and fighting the elite four I wonder who the champion going to be? I really hope it's not the new rival. I'm kind of hoping the champion is either Red or Blue or even better yet make it Professor Oak himself if only to finally give people the chance to properly battle him instead of having to use glitches like in the original Red/Blue/Yellow.

I actually own every Nintendo console and handeld except the NES/Famicom which wasn't on the poll. Most of my fondest memories was playing Pokémon Red and Gold on the N64 through Pokémon Stadium 1 and 2 by using the transfer pack. I was basically emulating the Switch by being able to play Pokémon on television (N64) or handheld (Gameboy) back then. Although now these days I would say most of my favorite games are just about every SNES game since I didn't get a SNES until several years later since I started with N64 first.

Are people really that desperate to start thinking that assist trophy characters like Waluigi, Lyn and Takamaru only appear to be in that role and will actually show up as playable later on, I mean really? Isn't that just being too much wishful thinking and looking a little too deep into things. I mean kudos for still being supportive of your favorite characters but still... That clip was shown to show that you can knock out assist trophy characters and be rewarded by adding a point to your score. Why would they use Waluigi as an example if he wasn't an assist trophy character?

The project plan for Smash Ultimate was decided in Dcember 2015 huh. That's interesting. I guess that pretty much rules out any FE newcomers from Shadow of Valentia or Three Houses then. So I guess that means if we any FE newcomers at all it will be Chrom or Anna I'm guessing. Pokémon Sun/Moon came out in 2016 right? If so, I'm assuming that means a gen 7 rep is only possible if they do the Greninja situation again.

Mario still uses the cape as his side-b. Not 100% sure about Dr. Mario though but I'm assuming he still uses the cape as well considering it would have been pointed out by now if it has changed.

I imagine that Robin's final smash will either be replaced by summoning Grima's head to use Expiration or instead of Chrom coming in to assist another character (or even groups of characters since Shulk's and Megaman's final smash has more characters jumping in to attack) such as Frederick/Lissa/Cordelia/Owain will come in and assist Robin instead.

I'm pretty sure Archanea (called Akaneia in Melee's debug menu) from Melee became Castle Seige in Brawl according to Sakurai. I don't think there is even any stage data for Akaneia in Melee because trying to access it crashes the game so no one even knows what the stage was suppose to look like. Edit: Drat, someone beat me to it.

Didn't even think of that. Having FE related items would be nice considering they had none in smash bros to begin with. They could even do something like have tomes like Thunder and Ruin that can be used a limited number of times before they break unless that interferes with Robin's moveset too much or maybe have a ballista that was used in some levels in Fates and presumedly other FE games.

I haven't really seen this discussed much but does anyone think we will see new FE characters as assist trophies this time around or will it only be Lyn again? It doesn't look like they will be Einherjar/Breidablik to act like Pokeballs but I would still love to see characters like Caeda, Tiki, Black Knight and Azura come out and help players during battle and I feel like outside of playable characters FE doesn't really have much representation since they only seem to have generic looking stages, a poor or rather limited number of trophies focused on one two games and the music selection seems pretty hit or miss for me too.
