  1. Since it seems IS would rather try to "fix" lackluster 5 stars rather than demote them I'll start with a couple of those. LUKE: Hero's Saber Base Effect: ATK/DEF Solo 3 Refine: Quickened Pulse 2 Luke is a tough one. He has no real standout stats as solid physical bulk and a good ATK stat aren't hard to come by in his class. But with this weapon the idea is he'd run off ahead of his team and open with a big special, then lean on his physical bulk to survive the incoming beating. SONYA: Base Effect: Unchanged Refine: SPD/RES Solo 3 Ugh, if there was one weapon I'd be all for stripping out its base effect it would be Dark Excalibur. Sonya is not particularly fast, ranged, and an infantry unit. In isolation, none of those are a deal breaker, but combined it makes her PRF very difficult to actually get good use out of since she can't activate specials very frequently. This won't fix all her issues but SPD/RES solo will make her better at dueling other mages and can provide speed duel phase to help get specials out. On the topic of 5 stars i still stand by Infantry rush for Delthea since I'd give her a cool niche and nothing they could reasonably give her would likely outperform a bladetome in pure killing potential anyways.
  2. My ballot was 1.Alm 2.Camus 3.Sheena 4.Elincia 5.Soren 6.Palla 7.Mist Basically, if IS won't give us bow Alm we'll make them do it. Camus is the best and I'd love to see Zeke or Sirius in FEH. I'm still waiting for a canonical Sheena (armors can't use axes in her game). I hate Elincia's art in FEH and want a new one. Soren's just great, Palla get shafted, and I'd be nice to have a not terrible Mist so that her name doesn't inspire only fear
  3. Just used L!Hector, Titania, and M!Corrin again. Just put Hector out there and let him kill everyone, fortunately they gave Elincia precharged Sol for some reason so her damage was very non threatening.
  4. It Amazes me how people just can't deal with a Firesweep B!Lyn a couple dancers. Not Complaining though since it's saved me a handful of Lift. T20 seems like a lock this week as long as I don't choke but you can never know what's out there waiting for you
  5. Just a couple things I want to add to the current discussion since they were brought up a while back and are likely buried in the thread never to be seen again: 1. As of now, no unit with anything above launch era BST has received a weapon refine or a new weapon. This is likely due to part of the intention of the weapon refinery as a way to not just equalize performance between newer and older units, but to at least partially equalize their scoring. An old unit who revived a new weapon like Lon'Qu has the same scoring ceiling as a newer unit without a PRF like Soleil (Although the introduction of inheritable 300 SP C Skills has thrown a wrench in this, so maybe this criteria will get dropped soon). Also worth noting that no Armored unit has ever received a new weapon in the refinerey. Zepehiel already had his PRF so it getting a refine had no impact on his scoring ceiling. 2.Although it may not seem like it, stat increases like Spd +3 are considered "full" effects for the purpose of weapon balancing. They usually show up on weapons with an effect too strong to be paired with another full effect such as Sinmara or Flame Siegmund and I dubbed these as "Lopsided Weapons" a while back. No weapon with a stat increase has ever had it removed to make room for a full effect, so even underwhelming weapons like Audhulma and Light Brand are unlikely to be changed for the time being. Sidebar: @ILikeKirbys Aversa is a dominant, meta defining unit in Aether Raids, and with a fully committed build, (I'm talking R Duel Flyers, Merges and maybe Summoner Support) she can be dominant in Arena. Out of all the "Lopsided Weapons" in the game, Aversa's Night is one of the last that should be buffed in any way.
  6. That's all well and good, but Hinata's so slow that a number of armors can double him anyways (e.g. L!Tiki ,BK, Zelgius, Draug) and it doesn't help his non armored matchups save for some weapon specific stuff. I think he'd get more value out of guard since the only thing that can threaten his physical bulk (other than a very strong blue unit he proably shouldn't be fighting) is a special activation.
  7. @DehNutCase my guess is that top left spot she's been chilling in is designated for Mythic Heroes and she'll depart in the next rotation once the new Mythic is out. That does raise the question of how they'll rotate them afterwards though. Will they alternate every 2 weeks or will our new person get to hog a whole month to give Eir a break. Either way I'll miss my super bulky colorless death princess when her stats are finally gone.
  8. Well, time to go fight for the bow Sheena we all deserve. It's a thankless task, but one I must see through till the end
  9. It makes perfect sense if you think about it, so many existing seasonal themes already have Fates representation its hard to believe that they can keep putting Fates units into them. And clearly we have a yearly quota to meet regarding fates representation (both in terms of new units and alts). Thus IS came to the ingenious solution of creating a brand new seasonal theme entirely to create space for more Fates alts. I can only applaud the audacity of IS, and cant wait to see what they get up to next.
  10. If i had to guess I'd be fae and Celica
  11. Is it though?, you can break out of them using guaranteed follow ups and its not like Myrrh and Hector win many speed checks. Additionally Great Flame and Thunder Armads have effects that can be canceled without damaging them first which could be situationally easier than half healthing them.
  12. I love 2 focus banners. Hope they become a mainstay of fodder/event banners. I understand people not wanting them for new heroes though. For 250 f2p orbs got Laegjarn Dorcus 2 Helbindi's and litetally 6 Sorens which is great since I actually have G duel infantry now and my old Soren has shit IVs
  13. @bottlegnomes Personally I couldn't disagree more. Aether Raids works for me precisely because of its cutthroat nature. Nothing else in this game really has stakes. Because of the number of arena badges that get handed out for free, arena just requires waiting for the right matchups and is more about building high scoring units than actually playing well. Arena Assault (a mode I otherwise like because of how many units get involved) requires remarkably little thought as it has unlimited counter pick and no resource cost of any kind. Aether Raids are currently the only game mode with non superfluous rewards that demands you both prepare and play at a high level. There is an element of counter pick, but it's limited to your 5 set raid teams. There's so much opportunity cost with how you spend your stones between offense and defense. You have to fight against unit builds optimized for performance and not just score. That's not to say that the mode doesn't need work. Things like being able to play your friends for free and some balance tweaks are likely needed and will likely come. But ultimately for me the mode is a positive addition that does what a new game mode should, feel different dispite existing within the same framework. Maybe the community will decide a hardcore mode in a decidedly casual game is a bad thing but I hope it doesn't come to that. P.S. are people really running in to that many Rein-Lyn teams that are all the same? Im top 10k and still feel like the variety isn't any worse than the tier 19.5/20 arena I inhabit. Maybe I'm lucky.
  14. This was fucking lame. Kiran feels like the absolute worst part of this game from a writing standpoint at times, and this is one of them. All of the forging bonds events have the misfortune of being framed around Kiran, but the decision to do so here is baffling. People in Fire Emblem are largely characterised by their relations to other characters. Ike is paired with the cynical Soren and Idealistic Titania, and their interactions do alot to establish and endear us to their characters. You can say the same thing about Hector/Eliwood, Chrom/Robin etc. Alot of why we like characters is how they play off of each other. So why, in the one event that I have to belive exists to endear us to these characters, do they refuse to put their interactions at the forefront. And instead just make them air their insecurities to a wall and have them leave feeling better about themselves. That's actually one of my biggest gripes with the story. This game exists because we love fire emblem characters, so why are none of them allowed to do anything other than show up as disposable fodder for the villan.
  15. Nothing but respect for the person who put this keep together. Naturally all the summonable Xanders were +10. I wish I had the confidence for a meme defense. Finally got a break from Horses and dancers today, although that nasty Surtr armor comp i got instead was equally nerve wracking. Still can't complain about 2 perfect runs though.
  16. Generally units, especially seasonals, show up in the order of their release. For example we should be getting the Hoshidan Summer units before we get this year's Halloween units.
  17. I hope to god book 3 means Fjorm gets taken out of the permanent arena bonus rotation. Never made sense to me we had 3 unmergable, gen 1 bst units and one mergable, gen 2 bst legendary in a fixed rotation.
  18. On an unrelated note, I didn't expect the same bonus units for 3 weeks but maybe I should have.
  19. On an unrelated note, I didn't expext the same bonus units for 3 weeks but maybe I should haave.
  20. What are you running in your Raid teams? I've benefited from having some luxury units (namely L!Hector and Loki) but there are some big difference makers with good accessibility. Cecelia running raven/TA deals with alot of common threats. Keeping Aversa around also helps alot since she hits horse units with great consistency and can take alot of damage off. Other than that great support units like Titania, Marth and M!Corrin are always nice to get your stats up and dancers can help you clear buildings to set up baits that the map isn't built for.
  21. I fought one earlier today. Forgit how many merges but I don't think it was +10. The guy either forgot or didn't know you shouldn't run armor march on him so it was easy to deal with.
  22. Yeah it's pretty clear the mode can't function fir long without a fountain upgrade. I guess they just wanted a couple weeks a data for how fast people could progress without one. I'd certainly expect some balance tweeks in 3.0 since the mode will have had 3ish seasons under its belt. I'm selfishly hoping they also limit offense and defense teams to 1 dancer a piece. Probably not going to happen but a man can dream.
  23. @Tree that's intended. Field buffs (the kind you can see outside of combat) generally last for one turn with turn defined as "through the opposing team's phase". So a player could buff their Walhart with tactics, then have him move 3 spaces away from his team to take advantage of Wolf Berg, and the Tactics buffs will last until the start of the next player phase. Likewise the enemy could do the same thing with the buffs lasting until the start of the next ememy phase. Not being required to maintain proximity is the primary benefit field buffs have over something like drive stacking
