  1. First playthrough is always male, then I go female for the next one. The Lyapunov time for my character's gender is 2 playthroughs, though, so who knows which I'll go with for the 3rd route.
  2. Is that what ASM stands for? I've been wondering about that... I'm personally looking forward to all the class details, since If seems to be replacing most of the old classes. In the preview screenshot, I see EpicFaceMan promoting, a new character in a myrmidon-like stance, and reclass options for a maid.
  3. I'm a bit anxious--in both senses of the word--about all the new classes. It looks like they've mostly scrapped the old class system and made a new one, which has me both worried and curious. I'm optimistic about it, though.
  4. I'm pretty happy with Elfie's design, especially her hairstyle. In what board on 2ch are the leaks? ゲーム?
  5. I was reading Cyrus's description on the Fire Emblem if characters page, and this sentence was off: "In one screenshot, he’s teaming up with the Avatar is defeat a Clan Soldier." (No doubt an honest mistake from going back and editing the sentence, as I myself do all the time.)
  6. I agree. It seems feels like IS is trying a bit too hard to make her seem mystical. Localization should rename her Frances so I can tell her to lighten up.
  7. There are people who actually skip Lyn mode? Hurrah for scans! I shall add Erufi's eyes to my chart, because I'm obsessive like that.
  8. I came across the kijin thing, too, and I wonder if it's a pun on 鬼神 (kijin or more commonly kishin), which are fierce gods--not oni-gods, but rather gods that are as destructive/wrathful as oni. Along those lines, kijin would presumably be fierce people.
  9. Seems reasonably likely, but the screenshot with Joker's sprite (as seen in the new chart) is just too blurry for me to be sure. And I like to be sure. (I didn't even label Archerbro as Takumi until it was absolutely confirmed that it was true.)
  10. Huh, right you are! Feel free to ignore that icon, then (at least until I fix it).
  11. I saw that another list of people was posted earlier, but I want to show off share my chart of all the known characters: [spoiler=DA FIXED CHART] Edit: Updated!
  12. You know, the part I'm digging most of all about the newly revealed portraits is the scarves on the shinobi. :3
  13. I'm almost positive it's フウマ兵. Fu'uma confirmed as some third nation?
  14. If it were left out, the skill system would probably be something along the lines of FE4, where there are: class skills (like Pursuit, Charisma, and Adept) that are shared by all members of that class, and personal skills (Astra, Luna, Sol, Miracle, etc.) which are different for each character.
  15. I think that it's really interesting how the mere existence of even one weapon can greatly affect a character's usage. Take Canas, for example: without Luna, he's an average unit, around Erk's level in usefulness as a magic user. But with Luna, he can slay any unit in the game in one round, given enough Speed and Skill. If bows had range 1-2, then I think that Archer/Sniper viability would go way up, but I also think that it'd spoil what they're meant to be: Tanky but harmless up close, deadly (and sometimes unreachable) from far away.
  16. Class name, not actual name. I can tell that it's 槍something士...
  17. Can anyone make out the middle kanji in Oboro's class name? Also, @Vincent, how in the world did you read the Dark Mage's name in that image??
  18. Here's a wacky theory I've been tossing around in my head: Full-on spiritual successor to the Magvel setting, in that the ancestral dragons fought off some big ancient demon (for example, the Bocca Della Verita could be NotFomortiis) and his legions the Nosferatu. Something related to the nations warring causes the revival of this ancient evil, or perhaps vice versa. So, the third path would follow Kamui... -- recruiting those willing to set aside their national differences -- exploring the history and knowledge of the dragonkin to learn how they defeated the evil last time
  19. Just as long as we don't have another TearRing Saga-crazy relationship chart. More than half of the cast is related either by blood, by tutelage, or by marriage. If I had to pick a side, I'd be against marrying in-game. Let it just be a little paired ending or something, if anything at all. And finally, to be on topic, I'd like to add this: Every CG scene we've seen of Camilla covers her left eye. However, we've seen her right eye covered instead when she asks 大丈夫 ("Are you OK?") to Kamui. I think that if she really were missing an eye, my first thought is that they'd be careful about it, a la Chrom and Nergal. However, on the other hand, we've got Ranulf, Ike, Basilio, Garret, etc. whose chiral features are mirrored anyway. ...And that's all I've got to say about that.
  20. Oh gods, if things got so bad that summoning the Deadlords would improve the situation... things have gone horribly, horribly wrong. Make it happen, IS!
  21. Everything you have said is pure gold for this alone. :D More seriously: I can dig it. I wonder if any recent generations of royal family members have had Kamui-level blood...
  22. Given what we now know about Camilla, if she doesn't follow Kamui in the Hoshido route, I'm imagining boss!Camilla becoming vengeful and indignant at Kamui for betraying Nohr. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?!" *swings axe at Kamui* "YOU WERE MY FAMILY... MY BROTHER/SISTER!" *more axe swinging* Come to think of it, we've already seen Takumi doing basically the same thing in the trailer.
  23. Yeah... when I've finished, I'll definitely want to have the entire TRS1 section redone. The old patch is full of similar mistakes; for instance, Neuron is called "Newolong," and Guenchaos is called "Gwenchaos," "Guenchaos," "Guien Khaos"... For those who are curious, I've completed up through Chapter 3, which amounts to 10% of the script by data size--a little more than I expected, honestly. But it turns out that there's a slight downward slope in the kB of text per chapter as we progress in the game, which could explain it: ...except for the fact that this graph isn't precisely accurate, since some pieces of chapter script are stored in the same place, e.g., the 16 kB file gevmsg19.mes.txt contains text corresponding to chapters 2 and 16, but it only counts for chapter 2 on that graph. Regardless, I think the data-percentage value is the most indicative of my progress-to-date. I'm also on summer break now instead of in the middle of university finals, so my working speed can only go up from here!
  24. It's never elaborated on, but I've always gotten the impression that manaketes create their dragonstones in the process of sealing away their natural powers, just like the original dragons-turned-human did. So I guess the defining line would be whether or not one could create a dragonstone/have any powers to seal away. Question on terminology: Does "manakete" refer specifically to dragons who have chosen to do the human-form-thing, or to the entire race of dragons?
  25. I'm curious about this, too. Famitsu just says that the dragons are the 神祖竜 "divine ancestor dragons" and that the families claim to carry the 竜の血 "blood of the dragons." I'd lean toward Kamui being an actual descendant of dragons than a blood-bond, though, given the ability to transform. I think Xane mentions that human shape was the easiest form for dragons to take on, so maybe all Archanean manaketes can shapeshift somewhat, and he's just really good at it?
