  1. Changing the topic for a bit so I can make a stupid question... Are there other english Shin Megami Tenseis that are not for the PS2 and DS/PSP? I wish I could play them, but the nasty Dwarf Fortress-like graphics and bad script on the older games annoy me.
  2. I don't mind a timeskip, my post wouldn't be that important anyway.
  3. I honestly think Bartre (FE7) is kinda underrated. I like him, and he always turns out to be a good tank & damage dealer in the end (to the point he can solo both desert bosses). I don't remember much about FE7, but I'm sure he was always one of my best units.
  4. There's also Langrisser (strategy based game very similar to FE... I think there's one for the PSP, but I'm not sure) and Growlanser (also a RPG). They're going to release FFIII for the PSP later and it's probably my favorite FF. Oh wait I remember now, I have a really big list of PSP games which I want to play when I get one: Persona 3 Portable Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Star Ocean 1 Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Radiant Mythology Persona 3 Portable Gungnir Dissidia 012 Class of Heroes Corpse Party Yggdra Union Shin Megami Tensei Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time Tekken 6 Dissidia: Final Fantasy Valhalla Knights 2 Ys Seven Ys: The Oath in Felghana Ys I & II Chronicles Half-Minute Hero Lunar: Silver Star Harmony Fate/Extra Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection Maverick Hunter X Megaman Powered Up Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 - Innocent Sin Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Hexyz Force Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX: Tag Force 3 Star Ocean: Second Evolution Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth Guilty Gear Judgment SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny Valkyria Chronicles II BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Portable Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Blazing Souls: Accelate Wild ARMs XF
  5. We need moar boardgamez Just saiyan.
  6. I personally wish the Dawn Brigade had more focus, and Part I was longer. I think there would be a lot more character and plot development, just like with Ike's part on FE9.
  7. I'm pretty interested on this. My roleplaying skills are pretty average and my grammar isn't spectacular, but I want to pick Edward if you let me. I think he's one of the characters who I can stay IC.
  8. I like FSN, I just dislike Shirou. Since he's the protagonist, there is a lot of focus on him, which makes me hate him even more. Also, the kitchen scenes are boring and annoying and Tohsaka also managed to annoy me from time to time. Besides this, I like the VN. Definitely. I found the characters way more interesting than those of FSN and the overall plot is great. Just a warning, though: The characters are only important on their routes. Arcueid loses all her importance in the other routes, and so does everyone else basically, they become coadjuvant (sub plot-important, in case the term coadjuvant doesn't apply on english) characters. I like Kohaku, but I expected more from her route. Hisui's route was much better, however. She had a lot of character development and I loved it. Ciel and Akiha's routes, too, are my favorites. Also I wouldn't recommend reading the manga just because Arcueid's route doesn't appeal to me, but check it out anyway. I'm one of those who like Tsukihime for the aforementioned characters, so... =P
  9. Cannot Defeat Airman. The Sonic series are different. Capcom pretty much stopped working on Megaman as soon as they saw it wasn't as lucrative as before. On SEGA's case, they still invest in Sonic.
  10. Why is Colonel better than Zero? Maybe if he wasn't half of the reploid he was supposed to be...
  11. Not to mention Eggman's amusement park on Sonic Colors, and his immense fleet on Sonic Unleashed. Yet, I still think Zero could deal with it.
  12. You could say that Zero beats X, because any number multiplied by zero becomes zero. Yet, the variable x could also be zero, so Zero wins... which means it's a draw, since X is counted as 'Zero', and both win the fight. Mindfucking, indeed.
  13. I think it's also used to break the cliche, "The hero defeats the big bad and lives happily after", which had been quite common once. I like tragic stories and tragic endings, but I wouldn't mind seeing the hero triumph and get what he deserves in the end from time to time.
  14. Anything noticeably bad about SAO? I'm thinking about watching it, after I find and watch the Rebuild of Evangelion movies. In my case, I liked Sakura but hated Shirou from the start of the VN. Am I the only one who finds his morals strange or too overreactive? It's been some time since I last read FSN, so I might not be able to argue about it with more depth. Funny thing is, I have the same thought about Tohno Shiki. I liked Tsukihime way more than FSN (other than Arcueid and Kohaku's routes, I saw no problems with it), but the protagonist is a jerk most of the time while being regarded as a saint.
  15. In no particular order: 1) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back & Star Wars: Return of the Jedi 2) The Godfather Part I & The Godfather Part II 3) Lord of the Rings 4) Inglorious Basterds 5) Monsters inc. 6) Blade Runner 7) The Terminator 8) Toy Story .... I'm terrible at recalling. >:
  16. I agree with this part. When you're being bullied, you just don't have the strenght to fight back. You become depressed and weak. And the last thing someone who's being bullied does is think someone might help them, or solve their problems... At least after they do it once, or twice, and nothing happens. They just don't believe on this, and lack the strenght to fight back. For me, bullying wouldn't exist if society was more integrated. This is what I wished for my schools, and it is still something I wish: An integrated community. It never happened, obviously, because it's a rather utopian and silly thought. With this, there would be no bullies and no isolated people with issues that would help getting themselves bullied.
  17. I dislike FE11 a lot because I don't like the story and the characters are too plain and lack personality. Also, the chapters are dull and easy unless played on the Hard Modes (** or more). I hate how they used the same old mechanic from FE1 too. I'd feel the same about FE12, but since it's got a better script, support conversations and MU, all is forgiven. I almost never use late arriving characters unless they are noticeably good, like Harken (imo). I laugh at Rath's joining time and current stats/level. It's a joke, right? Nino's an even worse joke. I never met the level requirement to go to the Linus/what's his name's chapter because I focus more on other units. However, the Main Lord is always around Level 20 when I get there. I don't even bother with leveling up Lyn, I know she'll suck regardless of how much I babysit her. I like Bartre, he's one of the units I always use on my playthroughs. Other examples are Rebecca (I admit she isn't that spectacular, but I like her), Raven, Prissy, Pent, Oswin and Lowen. On the other hand, Sain, Lyn, Legault, Wil, Dart, Isadora, Dorkass are mostly always benched. I'm too lazy to check out enemies' stats and weapons and then compare with one of my units' stats, so I save state a lot. Especially because I tend to go Leeroy Jenkins and frequently miss something important (for example, sending a Peg Knight on an archer/ballista's range). Because of my last confession, FE5 is my worst enemy because it requires a lot of calculating from my part, besides a few annoying things, such as not being able to use your characters when they're overused, having scarce equipment, and all the nasty surprises a first-time player might meet on the way. However, I plan on playing it on Elite mode later. FE4 is my favorite game from the series, followed by FE9, FE10 and FE7. I'd like to see a version of FE4 with Support Conversations, more chapters (as in, the original chapters are divided by castles), more space for insights about the characters, remastered music and graphics. It's hard to acknowledge that IS isn't going to work on a remake of it, like they did with FE1 and 2, although I understand why and how it would be hard to change some stuff. ... I think that is all.
  18. You forgot to compare those 'bad' units to the enemy units. Sure, your logic is valid when referring to your own units, but it just doesn't work when your 'bad who is not bad on casual plays' unit is not efficient at all agaisnt foes.
  19. Best: Sigurd - Honorable mentions to Fin, Levin, Sety, Briggid, Ayra, Seth, Ike, MU on every case, Celice, Aless, Shanan. Worst: Marty. So many zeros on his stats, too inacurate to hit anything. He's pretty meh, too. - Unhonorable mentions to FE9!Sothe, Meg, Brom, Sharlow.
  20. ... I'd say the final boss from Sonic 2 is hard. The whole stage itself is hard: You don't have access to any rings, and there are two boss fights. The first boss is easier, but the last boss takes 12 hits to fall, and it's pretty risky to try and hit him without dying. His pattern is repeatable, but he doesn't give the player many chances to hit his weak point, and most of them are traps (such as when he crouches only to release his arms agaisnt the player).
  21. Is Amazon reliable? I want to buy a 3DS XL from there since it costs 600 bucks here, but I've never imported before. Silly question, I know, but I'm afraid of being pulled a trick. =P
  22. Linde is a semi Glass Cannon. She can pack a punch with Aura, but her magic isn't that great and her HP is terribly low to the point she'll die from any ballista shot, or direct hit from anything that isn't magic. Merric is kinda overrated too, I think. He only turned out good after I promoted him and his magic, speed and HP stopped sucking.
  23. Ike on FE9, I think. He starts kind of fragile, at least.
