  1. Edelgard sounds... mature. I mean, it makes sense given her personality. Her voice will definitely suit her post-timeskip. Anyway, nothing really new. Interesting that Petra's dislike is discrimination though. Sounds like she's had to put up with a fair bit of prejudice from the mainland countries.
  2. Apologies if I'm misunderstanding, but could Professor Expertise not be tied to Professor Level, rather than Byleth's Strengths? It seems a good way to keep tuition relevant as the game goes on and higher and higher levels of XP are needed for each Weapon level. Instruct doesn't necessarily need to follow the same rules as a Seminar either.
  3. Edelgard is my first choice currently, but I honestly think an off-site anonymous poll would be good if you're trying to get an accurate number.
  4. We've seen Flayn as a unit with a class and stats, though whether she's playable or not remains to be seen.
  5. I highly doubt it will be three years. It seems to be that One Month = One Chapter, with the chance to paralogue and skirmish. If it's three months, you're looking at a bare minimum of 36 Chapters before you hit the timeskip (not including any prologue chapters). That seems absurd.
  6. The idea of having some unaligned students who just fall in with the player's house is actually pretty cool. Never really thought of it.
  7. Still not 100% on who I'm joining, but Bernadetta, Marianne and Lysithea are all being dragged onto Team Byleth regardless.
  8. I, for one, cannot wait to interrupt my crusade to destroy an evil dragon threatening to destroy the continents, so I can take Bernadetta out for tea. Seriously though, I fully expect the Monastery to be the base of operations for the whole story.
  9. We already know that there's a bunch of non-student/non-teacher playable characters, so it should be fine.
  10. Daggers might fall under swords, though I doubt it. But the fact that both versions of Byleth have the dagger fairly prominently displayed suggests that it might have some plot relevance? Perhaps a keepsake of some description?
  11. I kind of want Byleth to be a Magic Knight, so whatever foot class is best for that. For everyone else, I'm probably going to mostly stick with whatever they're inherently good at. No point forcing things until I know how the games works.
  12. Male Byleth has a darker coat than Female Byleth. In my opinion, it's yet another way in which his design is better, since the dark fabric makes the silver emblem stand out more.
  13. Nobody: Literally not a single soul: Ferdinand on a public forum: Hey guys, how about that treason, huh?
  14. Seems OK. The whole 'rivalry with MC' thing could get tired quickly though, depending on whether or not they bother to expand her character beyond that.
  15. I don't know. Much of her clothing is white, and the shadows haven't rendered that a shade of purple. Still, given what we've seen the hair shaders in this game do to represent shadow, definitely not impossible, or even unlikely.
  16. That's related, but it's more a general 'slowly changing haircolour in Japanese media means nothing good' kind of thing.
  17. Seriously concerned that Lysithea is going to go the 'Is dying from Crest corruption' route, even if she makes it to the epilogue. Serious red flags floating around.
  18. I'm pretty sure that Sothis won't be able to use it if she's playable, even if storywise she could. It's clearly been promoted as Byleth's sword. If she is playable, Sothis's gimmick will probably be manakete abilities, which could be SUPER interesting in this game, what with multiple space giant units with multiple health bars.
  19. Another interesting point. Rhea apparently gains support points with Byleth, which suggest that she's playable, at least in some routes.
  20. It's also written (and pronounced) as Klonie, and the root of the name is kloneƓ or wildly-rushing, which definitely seems to fit the character. https://www.theoi.com/Nymphe/NympheKlonie.html
  21. So /feg/ just did a little digging, and likely translations of the 3 villains are Thales, Solon (as Vincent wrote) and Clonia, as all three are Greek figures. Thales and Solon were actual people, both statesmen and philosophers, while Clonia was a mythological nymph. Seems like a decent naming theme, especially considering how it's the fake/mythological one who get's killed off by her own team.
  22. It's highly unlikely that Swordmaster will have both Swordfaire AND Vantage.
  23. Availability is typically the main issue, because the game designers very quickly realised that giving you a flying, heavily armoured beatstick only really weak to wind magic was not a grand idea. The few that arrive at decent times in the story tend to be among the best units you can get.
