  1. I have a postgame team and I'm getting my ass kicked. I'm terrified of what a rank 5 map will be like. I mean, the enemies already have maxed skills and occasional capped stats. I guess the likely third battle against both Light and Dark will have 60 enemies at a similar strength, plus probably better weapons. I imagine that MU would be pretty much invincible against 19 of the enemies and somewhat less invincible against the 11 with Tome Slayer. I mean, it would just cancel out the MU's own slayer skill, and with high enough stats you could probably take them on like that, but... I didn't even notice Ishtar had Astra: didn't live long enough to fight her. Now I'm scared to. Why does this game not have a Nihil skill? I mean, I guess we'll probably get it from another DLC map...
  2. Eep. Did I say about as strong? By the start of Turn 2 on my second attempt, seven of the ten NPCs were dead. At least they killed Sephiran before he could rip through anyone else. And by that I mean the first attempt that reached Turn 2: the one that didn't end on my third action by sending MU to fight Hardin and get killed instantly in return. This, instead, was the one where Narshen flew in and one-rounded Liz. This map is insane.
  3. Well, you only need one completion: it seems they drop their best reward on the first time, but won't give it up again. But even then, you need one nearby player. Hopefully it'll work with the other regions' versions once it comes out. --- Hey, Light vs. Dark is on FE9 Ch8. Neat. Of course, that means those crazy powerful enemies are swarming you. And yeah, it's the male half of the Spirit Talisman crowd again. Marth - Star Lord Alm - Hero Sigurd - Paladin Serlis - Swordmaster Leaf - Trickster Roy - Hero Eliwood - Paladin Ephraim - Great Knight Ike - Hero Sothe - Trickster I guess they aren't that concerned about redundancy. They're all max level and plenty powerful, but there's just 10 of them, and 30 enemies that are about as strong. Oh, and just 10 of your own team.
  4. It's possible, but the two are completely different in function. Maybe we'll get it as Dark Tome Loptos? I never saw Luna anywhere outside of that download, but who knows what they're up to with that. But yes, they seem to be distributing stuff a lot of ways. Dual Tag is currently the only way I know of getting Hauteclere, but I haven't been able to try it to see the rewards for the new downloads.
  5. Inverse uses Goetia every time she shows up, and ultimately drops it. With how casually it's getting tossed around, it doesn't seem that special: three enemies in Ephraim's map use it, although granted two use Mistoltin. Regardless, I'm guessing Inverse will join with a second Goetia tome.
  6. It's also possible that Tellius is just a small part of one of the larger continents, and the rest showed up as the waters receded. I don't think we have topographical maps detailed enough to look into this, though.
  7. The final SpotPass? Not plausible, with characters like Camus and Ishtar shown who aren't in their own games' regular teams.
  8. We should see Loptos at some point, them having brought back Naga. I mean, we need some real ultimate dark spell. Fuck Goetia.
  9. They're probably just keeping him a secret; he does seem to be special. Valhart showing up after two weeks was a pleasant surprise. At this rate, we may very well get the rest of the SpotPass maps in the next two months to see for ourselves.
  10. First time I saw it was sometime yesterday, but I think that was my first time using it since downloading Elincia a week ago. Hmm, I'll poke around a bit. Any thoughts on what sort of fiddling around? Edit: All I had to do was go to the Home menu and get some sort of update, and now it's working. So yay, and thanks! I guess that's all it was.
  11. Man, what's wrong with you people? Gangrel and Valhart are adorable.
  12. It seems like Ephraim's map likely displays the full Villain team. The four possibilities for the last three slots are Lloyd, Linus, Ursula, and Selena: most of the rest have already shown up in regular SpotPass teams, and Jaffar, Nergal, Marisa, and Lyon are safe bets for the standard FE7/8 SpotPass teams as well. So the remaining slots have to be filled by three of those four: it's unlikely that Lloyd and Linus would be separated, and three representatives from the Four Fangs constituting such a huge chunk of the Villain team sounds unlikely. So it's probably a safe assumption that Ursula is on the regular FE7 team while Lloyd, Linus, and Selena round out the Villain team. All in all, quite interesting. Demon Fighter is far more unique than Soldier ever was. And at least one Slayer skill, from the looks of it. Valhart's map caused enough trouble for my endgame team. This should be exciting.
  13. Falchion is character-dependent: class doesn't matter as long as the character can equip any sort of swords. Rapiers and Noble Rapiers, however, are specific to the Lord, Great Lord, and Star Lord classes, regardless of the character with the class. There is currently no precedent for a weapon to be tied to both a class and a character. There is dark magic that's tied to both a class and a skill, but that's a much larger group than just Amatsu and Sol Katti for the Myrmidon weapons. Doubt it: it doesn't seem like it would compare well to Demon Fighter, as a sword specialist compared to a unique three-weapon user. This is what I'm thinking, as well. Cellica also would fit her own three-weapon class, with swords, tomes, and staffs corresponding to her original weapons. It's likely that they chose three weapons for Alm in preparation for that for Cellica.
  14. Speaking of error messages: when I try to download more DLC, I get the message 009-1000. Apparently this means it can't connect, but I was able to download SpotPass just fine, so what the hell is going on? Also, I restarted my router, and got a different error while it was restarting - indicating again that it was connecting well enough to get something, if it cared about losing the router entirely. Once it finished, though, I was back to 009-1000 even from five feet away.
  15. That makes much more sense, then. Although it indicates that the royal "we" probably doesn't quite convey the intended meaning.
  16. Seems the generic one gives the Silver Card and two ultimate weapons, while Celice's map gives a Paragon Book. Speaking of ultimate weapons, I wonder about these Dual Tag teams. You can get some special items and weapons from the first completion: Basilio's team seems to be the only way to get Hauteclere. I suspect other teams have other ultimate weapons, but there's no info on the most recent four: just the default ten and the two that were available for immediate download.
  17. I use Alvis occasionally in my postgame team; he's great. Haven't really used anyone else.
  18. Wait, he seriously talks like that?
  19. Same. He actually looks damn fine in that image. Gaaaah how is it that even though I was able to access the SpotPass I can't load the screen to buy the new DLC? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY NINTENDO
  20. Serge is a goddess of war and of the sky. Why do you want to give that up to make her do something she's terrible at? I made Liz a Cleric --> Sage --> Valkyrie for Tome Expert on the way. Took a while, though.
  21. I haven't seen Taguel!Mark, but Manakete!Mark looks the same as always.
  22. I rushed him and just beat him first, then got my ass kicked the following enemy phase. I made sure to have Krom defeat him, but I didn't see any special conversation there. I'm curious about the Overlord class skills. Is it just Conqueror, or is there anything else?
  23. My HM Krom is a ~15/15/4 Paladin and his only non-HP stat over 30 is Skl, at 31. He's also one of my best characters. So I'm not sure what your basis for saying that is, but it's not really accurate. And Cecilia joins whenever you get strong enough to kick her ass. Shouldn't be an issue to beat her when she's still a bit ahead of your team. So all you need to do to recruit him is have Krom strike the finishing blow?
  24. I'm certain this is the case with classes impacting growths. No doubt about it. I've never done much with any units with Good Growths. I mean, an average of +1.6 stats per level-up is pretty great, and it's not like it's easy to get your skill set filled to capacity. Even when you have five other skills, chances are, not all of them will be quite so worth using. Particularly for Donny. I mean, his standard possible skills are: Good Growths Weak Beats Strong Weapon Saver Late Initiative Max HP +5 Fiery Heart Skill Cry Bow Slayer Sol Axe Slayer Strength Cry Counter Good Growths doesn't seem to have a whole lot of competition there, especially when it matters most: when he hasn't gained enough levels to use many of those in the first place.
