  1. In my current pair-upless run, my Ricken is matching Chrom's speed point for point. :< So yeah, currently doing an awakening run where I use the characters I don't normally. 4: Only played once. 5: Not played yet. 6: Never really used the pegs, nor Cath/Asthol. Don't think I've used Hugh either despite massive love for Caney. 7: Actually didn't use Raven for the longest time. Never use Erk, Wil, Rath, Wallace... 8: Aside from Duessel/Seth/Lords/Moulder, there aren't many characters I can admit to using much. I've played more romhacks than vanilla fe8 though. 9: Mia/Neph (SORRY), Devdan (this time I'm actually sorry, I love you Devdan), Tanith (clearly I should though!) 10: Dawn brigade units that aren't Zihark/Nolan/Tauroneo/Ilyana/Aran. Might've tried using Mia before ditching her. 11: Not played. 12: Pretty sure I've only used Marth, MU, Palla/Catria/Caeda, Barst, Draug, Xane and Feena. Oh, and the mages. The mages are cool. Especially Etzel.
  2. Brady for best. ♥ Yarne for most annoying. Might as well recruit Denning. :<
  3. "Luna Saints" <Everyone has Luna> Greeting: "Full moon out." Challenge: "The moon wanes." Recruit: "I'll see to it." Card Message: "Evening!" Basically, cheesy Luna related messages. Maybe I should make them into moon puns. That might be tricky. EDIT: @Dekodomo Props for Maribelle/Lon'qu! ♥
  4. Oh yay this is still a thing. It terrifies me how Bananas is turning out. Avatar thieves usually die a thousand gruesome deaths for me. :<
  5. ......... Yes, of course. Seize is a LOCA macro, not an AREA macro. So it's a location event and not a misc event. That's going to be a fun quirk to watch out for. Thanks a lot.
  6. No, it's in Misc. I remember making that mistake before. I managed to make a simple arrive (lord only) event work in a different chapter, where the Seize() issue also happened. But in comparison, even this skeleton chapter has the Seize() issue.
  7. Having this recurring problem with Seize(). Seize(0x3,Ending_event,5,1) Seize(5,1)Either way I present it, it seems to trigger the ending event when an any unit steps on the tile, as if it were a common AREA event.I could probably just manually make the trigger (Just need to check what specifies the seize command for LOCA), but this seems like a problem I shouldn't just leave lying around.
  8. Not my favourite, but it has replayability in spades and a system reeking in potential. If people ever work out how to hack this, it will likely shoot up my list.
  9. Fire Emblem's simplicity and clarity are what I love the most about it. You can tell how combat will work out at a glance, and menus are small, quick and snappy. That's what really bothered me about Biorhythm; it went against that. I will say, biorhythm did add a nice bit of flavour. Checking characters' rhythms in FE10 was a nice little way to see their personality. I liked how Ashera's was flat, for example. Then you have something violent and chaotic like Boyd's.
  10. I used spotpass Clive once. He's a pretty cool guy! Etzel, Roro, Xane, Barst, Minerva
  11. That Tharja/Vaike one is... Gaius/Sumia in OP is best one still though. ♥ EDIT: Oh my, I think I just rolled jackpot on the RNG. This one makes far too much sense.
  12. The Adventure Of The Wyvern Cherche and Kellam were out for an adorable Valentine's walk on Minerva's back. As they went, Kellam rested his hand on Cherche's back. It was the most romantic walk ever. But even though the day was so invisible, Cherche was filled with ferocious dread. "Do you suppose it's passionate here?" she asked playfully. "You pink silly," Kellam said, tickling Cherche with his apron. "It's completely ghostly." Just then, a horned Wyvern leapt out from behind a armour and tickled Kellam in the nose. "Aaargh!" Kellam screamed. Things looked orange. But Cherche, although she was transcendant, knew she had to save her love. She grabbed a lance and, as if they transcended the mortal plane, beat the Wyvern gracefully until it ran off. "That will teach you to tickle innocent people." Then she clasped Kellam close. Kellam was bleeding meekly. "My darling," Cherche said, and pressed her lips to Kellam's leg. "I love you," Kellam said eagerly, and expired in Cherche's arms. Cherche never loved again.
  13. Destiny's got a lot of endurance to it. It flickers well between the combat and map variant, and I just love the upbeat heroic feel.
  14. Yeah, I hope it's abandoned. It's not very well explained and isn't very easy to learn. It's also a total nuisance to actually check and keep in mind when you're worrying about surviving an Enemy Phase. It provides more complexity, but not really any depth. It's just annoying.
  15. I don't really see naming as something one person should do alone. That said, I can see myself subscribing to this theory too. As long as the name isn't awful.
  16. Oh, it's this thread. Honestly, there are plenty of Cordelias in real life. She's naturally talented, with a strong competitive drive. This'll lead to a terrible perfectionist streak, where she's mentally criticising everything she does wrong. It happens. It's very real. The perfectionist/competitive attitudes also mean that when she sees people 'doing it wrong', she's liable to tell them exactly what they're doing wrong and need to do instead. Does this seem familiar? People telling strangers that they're doing it wrong? Then there's the odd moment of humanity in her supports; off-hand, Cordy/Stahl comes to mind. She expresses her regret at not really being to make new discoveries during practise herself. The Chrom thing was a pretty bad idea though. Honestly, I think the character concept is fine. IS definitely could have implemented it much better, though. Should come as no surprise that the competitive, elitist character isn't the most likeable though.

    WarpskipFE

I was thinking about making a one-off chapter like this for a Ragefest: You were being chased by an unstoppable force liable to instakill you and you had to use warp, rescue, canto, dance and other tricks to get to the boss room and kill it before the force catches up with you. I don't have nearly enough LTC experience to make something full-fledged though.
  18. Yeah rogues look pretty dorky. The slow, flashy animations along with different shading makes them stick out pretty badly. I like having multiple kinds of promotion item; it's part of the experience, honestly. I also think that thieves needn't promote. Having the fast exp curve and great growths mean they don't need to see much combat to do their role: steal stuff and not die to a single attack. Halberdier is more interesting: I think FE6 definitely has room for some reclassing.
  19. Usual Suspects for campaign runs: Sumia MU Chrom or Lucina Honestly, unless I go on a Lucina/MU/Morgan rampage at endgame (not uncommon), Sumia's earlygame kill count tends to really rack up. Postgame File: Noire Brady Cynthia Combination of team Dark Flier and being a pain to cap.
  20. I've been really, really happy that Awakening has drawn in so much new blood. Even if it does drive me crazy watching friends take so long, it's great to have more people to talk about FE with. My first gripe was at how terribly exaggerated character quirks were, but honestly most of the supports aren't so bad. Better than "Tales of" character design at least. This game has provided me with 408 hours of entertainment. I think I should cut it some slack.
  21. I avoid eating it, but if it's there I won't be put off that much.
  22. Whoa, a lot of this hits pretty close to home. Parents with an enormous age difference that don't really do anything? Check, sorta. (In my case, my mother has a terrible job and comes back far too tired to actually do anything, leaving her house in a terrible state.) Shunned in school, too focused on other things? Check, though I had enough online friends and a couple of friends from other sources. No money, poor family? Check. Inferiority complex, mixed with misplaced sense of pride and will to not be a nuisance? CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECK. Right, time for me to crack out my own tools for escape. 1: First of all, you should get a hold of a doctor. Even a regular one will be able to point you in the right direction. If you can't bring yourself to do it, ask someone else. I know I can get like that. 2: I struggle to bring myself to ask for so much as a cup of tea. Frankly, most people want to help - especially professionals. Don't be afraid to get out there and do something, and never be afraid to bother people. Obviously it's not that easy a problem to shake, but always try to bear this in mind. 3: Be patient. Stuff like this isn't easy to shake, but every little ounce of progress will matter. You should actively take note of it. If you need to talk anything out, you can let me know, or come to IP chat or something. I can't say I have that many answers or good advice, but I'm more than happy to listen and share my experiences. And letting it out will help you mentally anyway.
  23. This, pretty much. Not to mention that what's best for the campaign is nowhere near optimal for postgame.
  24. Pretty close to my team, which has some eerie uniform standards. Everyone physical can be an assassin with Luna. Everyone magical can be a sage (male) or dark flier (female) with Luna - exception is Owain, who gets Vantage/Vengeance. Everyone who can get Galeforce has Galeforce. I think Vaike/Nowi is a good way to go too; Nah is less about vomiting out ridiculous Galeforce attacks than the others, anyway. Issuls/Nowi -- Nah: Manakete -------------- Mor: Manakete Chrom/Olivia - Luc: Assassin -------------- Ini: Assassin Donnel/Sully - Kje: Assassin Kellm/Cherche- Ger: Assassin Stahl/Cordy -- Sev: Assassin Freddy/Panne - Yar: Assassin Henry/Sumia -- Cyn: Dark Flier Gaius/Tharja - Noi: Dark Flier Lonk/Maribel - Bra: Sage Libra/Lissa -- Owa: Sage Ricken/Miriel- Lau: Sage
