  1. Warriors. Raaar, 30 Str, Axes AND Bows! Not to mention they tend to have sweet-ass jackets in the newer games. GBA crit animation was god tier, too. Aside from that, any staffer is best class. Valkyries especially.
  2. Maribelle!Lucina gets some pretty decent caster mods and classes actually. Also, Brady gets to be king. As such, MaribellexChrom is my OTP!
  3. 7 was my first. It's good, and the hackability makes it magnificent, but as an overall game I like radiance more. Despite the gameplay flaws, 9 has my favourite writing and an excellent soundtrack. Also introduces shoving, best mechanic ever. B) New Mystery is a nice runner up, though ultimately the stat inflation and some very infuriating maps put it back a little.
  4. Might make things easier, actually. No support bonuses, and the excessive number of enemies coming at you on lunatic is reduced by half. On the other hand, the infrequent Dual Attacks will still make surviving even one enemy a nightmare.
  5. Oh god what, why?! Not surprised in the least that Virgin would agree to this, but overall it's pretty baffling.
  6. Both series are pretty good. Adventure time tends to turn creepier with its humour later in, with some uncanny soliloquies and generally strange subject matter. It can be stupid a lot of the time, but in a more charming way than usual. Plus the protagonist's faithful dog is voiced by Bender!
  7. Avatar x Kjelle Chrom x Olivia Frederick x Sumia Vaike x Sully Lon'qu x Miriel Gaius x Tharja Stahl x Panne Virion x Cherche Gregor x Maribelle Henry x Cordelia Kellam x Nowi Libra x Lissa Most of these are surprisingly good. o:
  8. Bookoo: At first, I read that as there being a decision for the lord to either rescue the villages or chase down the treasure. Granted, that's something else I'd like to see. Having story driven timed events is something I support. EG: Reaching the legendary weapon caves before they were sealed up in FE6, or recruiting the few characters who'd know their location. In my hack, there are a number of enemies that escape and come back later, and small timed events like a dragon summoning ritual. If the party stops all of these, they approach the final battlefield ahead of schedule and get time to pursue some more personal agendas.
  9. Yeah, Ross growths are probably why I like him. Comes with the illusion of work training him profiting you, but doesn't actually break the game at higher levels (any more than anyone else at least).
  10. Ross does it well; I actually enjoy using the guy. Kids in Awakening have done it fairly well in my pair-upless runs, though they tend to be a bit too good. I think if Nowai were a little speedier, she'd do it quite nicely. I need to play with her more.
  11. Pretty sure that was the point. It keep starting skills relevant to that character, and puts people off dumping everything into one god unit.
  12. I don't think Dondon means E Rank weapons. I believe he means all those nice D/C/B/A rank weapons you can already use of a different type. I'll agree that getting access to 1-2 range is worth investment. I should've thought my post through a bit better there. I don't think it's really worth the frustration that going back to E rank brings in Awakening's system though. Maybe it's all in the head, but it's very disheartening to gain a new weapon type and find out you're losing a ton of attack, hit and even some defense just because you want to use this new toy. It's especially frustrating because the game hands all these second seals to you and encourages you to change class. Weapon rank should factor into that reclassing decision, but the price you pay is huge in a fixed campaign. (Honestly I think how important having 1-2 range is in Awakening is the real problem with sword users, but that's a different topic)
  13. It would certainly get me to use archers more. D:
  14. Hmm, this is a strange topic for me. I've been there to cheer people on when they find someone, and helped them stay rational when relationships get complex, but never gotten into one myself. In fact, between anxiety issues (I have trouble asking anyone for the simplest things) and a picky nature, I've barely tried. Until recently though, it's never really bothered me. Romantic moments are a nice plus, but I realise I want someone I can trust to by truly close to and open with that. I've sat and listened to lot of friends I dearly love (platonic!), but always kept my problems to myself; I've pretty much spent the last three years of University having all that silence come back to get me. Currently I'm living with my sister and her family, and it's interesting seeing the struggles they go through. There are times in life where you're going to need someone who will be there when you need them, to support you both emotionally and physically, to criticise and correct you, to take you away and clear your mind. Having close friends and family to rely is usually enough, but glimpsing into the working world has made me realise why it's so important to have someone who you share all your agendas with. Although I suspect I shouldn't worry about that, it'll just make the search more intimidating. I'll just have to continue to keep an eye out for interesting girls and not be so hesitant to introduce myself.
  15. This. Dancer lord reclasses make even Roy fun to use.
  16. I appreciate and advocate that concept, but in a game balanced around no grind the skill you're training ought to be rewarding. In Awakening, you're just doing this to catch up. Most other classes already have access to 1-2 range, and there's numerous points in the game where the enemy spams ranged attacks at you. The weapon triangle control isn't going to matter much and getting to use Beast Killers isn't even a perk if they're Great Lords and can use rapiers.
  17. Absolutely. I hated how promoting would be lucky to give you D rank for most classes, and it's why I can't stand weapon ranks providing these hidden stat bonuses. What's the point of gaining lances if you lose 3 str automatically and can only use the really crap lances? It's not as bad if you get Javelin/Hand Axe access from the get-go, but in Awakening it was awful. Stuck with a bronze weapon with reduced stats for a couple chapters if you wanted 1-2 range on your lord/hero.
  18. That would be really cool too, actually!
  19. Something like PoR's, or a toned down FE4 (no I don't want pursuit problems either). Most characters could get a skill to differentiate them, but a few classes (eg: thieves, single-weapon promotions) would get their own built-in skills too. Compare how interesting FE9 Tormod is to FE10 Tormod. I think the occasional skill scroll is more enjoyable than just being able to remove characters' defining traits on put them on someone otherwise better. - Awakening would've been cool if characters started with out-of-class skills, too.
  20. I don't actually have much of a problem with the standard weapon exp system. I do have a problem with weapon ranks having hidden stat modifiers. :/
  21. Noire/Brady Owain/Cynthia Notably, in my postgame team file I ended up with Morgan/Yarne and Nah/Inigo. I was not happy with how abusive my daughters were. D: FeMorg is really manipulative in general though, so whatever.
  22. You could generally override evasion decay by abusing Counter anyway. Granted, K's mechanics and balance were so questionable it's not really worth bringing that one into this argument. Point is, stat decay = good, especially in a game that doesn't have spirit commands and the choice to evade/defend instead of counterattack.
  23. Mine usually involve grabbing a pair of rescue staves and rescuing Chrom/Lucina. Coupled with a mounted Brave weapon user, I can go for a cheeky two-turn kill. Still feels pretty dirty though.
  24. Holy crap, didn't even consider Vaike!Nah. That's a really good combo.
  25. Was going to consult my Uniform Luna+Galeforce assasin team until I realised you wanted to keep character flavour. I'm down with that, so let's take a look. I'm a big fan of Lon'qu!Brady. He gives Brady the speed that he needs, as well as Vantage assist with Brady's general squishiness. Brady otherwise has everything that needs from Maribelle. Lonk has a Magic neutral cap too, which is neato. The extra bonus is that Maribelle's ending with Lonqu is terrifying. She ends up rewriting the laws and customs of Regna Ferox. Stahl is also an amazing parent for Severa (you'll need a change of pants when you see available skills and cap modifiers) You haven't used him yet either, despite him being one of the best dads. Double bonus is that Severa will be really happy to have such a scatterbrained, ordinary dad. Kjelle's more difficult. Vaike and Donnel are my top picks, but you have someone for both. I suppose you could free up Donny with FrederickxNowi (Pavise AND Aegis on a Manakete, ho ho ho!) but Nah's speed is bad enough. The other alternative is to marry Sully yourself, and patch her up with avatar god genes.
