  1. I think the elephant in the room here is that in awakening's DLC, Chrom has heard of Tellius (and obviously Archanea), but they specifically make sure Hubba is the one who introduces him to characters from Elibe and Magvel. The takeaway here is it seems the GBA trilogy of games aren't the same world, since Chrom retroactively knows of Hoshido and Nohr (making his knowledge near encyclopedic) it wouldn't make sense for him to not know of Elibe and Magvel at all unless they are different world(s). The fact that characters from Elibe and Magvel are blatant parallels to Archanea (more than usual, as in characters have identical wholesale plots with a few minor tweaks in 6 and 7 and 11/12 goes as far as to make parallels to those two games with new characters and plots like Gharnef's assassins/Black Fang and Nino/Katarina, in addition to more obvious ones like Gharnef/Nergal, Jahn/Medeus, Hardin/Zephiel, Roy/Marth, Binding Blade/Falchion and the Binding Shield, and so on) might in fact suggest Elibe and Magvel aren't "just" other worlds, but in fact parallel worlds that mirror Archanea, Valentina, and Jugdral. Chrom knows about Tellius and accepts Tellian history as fact for the most part. However, upon meeting MU-14, he doesn't seem to have even thought Hoshido and Nohr existed. This suggests Hoshido and Nohr far predate Tellius, which is supported by a few things Anna says in the Japanese version. I'd even hazard a guess the Tellian flood might be why Hoshido and Nohr were basically wiped off the historical map with little to no evidence left of them for Chrom to have on the subject there's also substantial evidence to suggest Fates is in fact a Groundhog Day loop. Revelations being the final go around and where the loop ends. Whether Conquest or Birthright is first in the sequence ends up being irrelevant, but most of it ties into Alpha Yato and the fact the games split off IMMEDIATELY after MU-14 claims Yato. Alpha Yato seems to upgrade itself in response to MU-14's own inner energy; this, combined with both the "Branch of Fate" feature and the fact Alpha Yato is an algamation of Grim and Blazing Yato, suggests MU-14 has lived through both conques and birthright yet does not remember it consciously. This is also supported h the lyrics of Lost in Thought ("Even the thorn in your heart, in time it may become a rose" perhaps suggesting Yato puts MU-14 through two doomed groundhog loops just so MU-14 will grow as a person before being able to challenge Anankos with their inner power) Thus the logical timeline I have follows: Hidden Truths 2-> FE14-BR and CQ -> Loop -> FE14 Revelation -> Flood, Hoshido and Nohr become lost knowledge -> Tellius -> Jugdral(? Haven't played 4 and 5 myself to completely confirm so I'm just goin off of plot summaries off the Internet and general consensus for this one atm) -> Remake Archanea (11, 2, and 12) -> Awakening -> Hidden Truths 1 As for the other world I think Magvel happens after the scouring but before Elibe if it's the same world due to Manaketes being low in number 8 -> 7 -> 6 And just for fun here's the two timelines involving the original Archanea game versions FE1 -> FE2 FE3 Book 1 -> FE2 -> FE3 Book 2 3 Book 1 overwrites FE1, but the DS remakes overwrite both of them and are referenced as the canonical version of events by Awakening and Fates. Those seem to be the most logical conclusions to me based on Chrom's knowledge
  2. So many eyebrows were raised when they made that Roy Sprite for Fates and considering the popularity of Cipher and the mobile app I'd be very surprised if we didn't get at least something. The thing a lot of people noticed was the Roy Sprite for the Cipher event wasn't Roy from FE6, FE13, or even SSBM. It was very specifically Roy'a design from Smash 4 made into a Sprite, a design Cipher hasn't even really TOUCHED at that point in time, but the design Roy's amiibo has. It was just kind of fishy to have a Sprite made in the style of Fates based on the Roy amiibo for seemingly no reason, when they could've just as well slapped Roy's FE6 Sprite onto the Cipher event and no difference concerning Cipher would've occurred. They might end up trying to do a cross promotion of some sort with FEmobile. Then again I can't deny the possibility Mobile will have the same sprites as Fates and the Roy Sprite was made for FEMobile, but that would imply Nintendo is looking into iOS+Amiibo integration
  3. The map actually looks similar to Archanea, similar enough there might be a connection but different enough to suggest it's either an extremely long time before or extremely long time after Marth's Tale/Awakening (especially when you compare Valm and Valentina and add even more time for Archanea to progress geographically) A far-future awakening sequel as their first mobile outing with new continents and characters, maybe even focusing on the resurrection of Grima in the ending where the avatar doesn't sacrifice themself, doesn't seem too far fetched considering the sales of awakening and the fact Fates was tied into Archanea/Tellius's world as well
  4. Eh I'll just get straight and to the point I'm arena scumming to save up enough money to buy 4 boots for Roy in Chapter 21, which has a secret shop with the only buyable boots in the entire series How much money does one pair of boots run you from this shop, is there a limit on the number of boots you can purchase, and what is the fastest and most efficient way to get to it (going for the gaiden and the good ending)?
  5. I know Fae appears by name, if Hawkeye visits her house in 7, so Fae is official, not "Fa". Niime is also mentioned by name in Canas's supports and I believe Dayan is mentioned by one of the Sacae characters.
  6. Fairly certain he means FE4 since he and I had an entire discussion about Project Naga and a glitch that kinda screwed his game up in the old translation. Leif's promotion is possibly the best promotion in the entire game since he gains access to (without exaggeration) literally every weapon type in the game iirc and also gets a mount Leif's only real downside in FE4 is that since his parents are locked he can never use any of the regalia, but his Arsenal range makes up for that You promote Leif in FE4 the same way you do every unit, which is get them to level 20 and have them use the promote option in the home castle Even Sileph promotes in this way, and FE4 has NO event based promotions or item based promotions Just to clarify, when I say every weapon type, I mean all physical weapons, all magic types except dark, and staves
  7. I'd say play it before the final chapter of Revelations, actually, between chapter 26 and 27.
  8. Dunno if this is a glitch since I haven't played it unpatched, but in chapter 2 when I visit the armory the vendor theme plays instead of the armory theme i was expecting
  9. Opinion: I think "The Banner of Holy War" rolls off the tongue better and sounds more epic than "Holy War Flag"
  10. This is just a pot shot in the dark, but what if FE mobile is actually a digital version of Cipher like the Game Boy Pokemon TCG games? Or, maybe Cipher will get announced alongside the English release of FE Mobile
  11. Gringe, is there any chance once the Link Arena is done that you could do a retranslation of the official Hasha no Tsurigi manga to also be consistent with your translation and Awakening?
  12. I gather that the colors of the titles represent what faction they are, but shouldn't Gaiden be colorless like Sacred Stones? They're the only two continents to not have any cards so they might throw us a curveball and Gaiden might be a different color.
  13. Dunno if anyone has picked up on this, but there seems to be a few stray Jugdral references in the game (Balmung) so I think double checking to make sure any other Easter eggs for other FE story arcs aren't in the game. Also do promotions for characters do anything aside from make mirages look fancy and give performers new names? I could just be dumb and not realize what the changes are =\ just wondering if the changes are significant enough to warrant a section/guide on classes or not
  14. -I don't get why people cry and moan about Emmeryn surviving when in actuality it would make LESS sense for her to die when you factor in that Lucina succeeds in changing the future despite SEEMING to fuck up at every turn, only to have people like Basilio survive and her to succeed, and when you take into account Emmeryn is implied to be the victim of the Curse of the Emblem as Camus was, if you read between the lines. The curse permanently maims people and relationships sure, but Camus survived, so it seems the curse doesn't actually kill anyone (I am going by the DS remakes' script since Awakening, Fates, TCG Cipher, and TMS#FE all pretend that FE1 and 3 never happened and firmly established 11 and 12 are the canon versions). What doesn't make sense is the fact she can recover in the Avatar supports which should be impossible if it is indeed the curse of the emblem, and Gangrel/Aversa don't particularly make much sense unlike Walhart (implied to be a risen) and Yen Fey (Outrealm shenanigans so we can do what we want)
  15. I really wanna say Dragonstones just to point out how unintentionally similar Roy and MU14 are if NinianXEliwood is canon, but going off of the above thought bows would work since he's most likely either Lyn's son or son in law through Lillina (I am of the mind that HectorXLyn is canon since Caelin is annexed into Ostia and that little exclusive convo they have in the final gaiden chapter if they have an A support, similar to Eliwood X Ninian having an altered ending to the final chapter)
  16. I just wanted to point out that in addition to Sieg being the officially localized name of Camus's alias, it would seem, the FE wiki also insists that the "Thief" class in this game are actually brigands, which makes sense- theives are sword/knife wielding playable units that steal directly from enemies and unlock chests, while Brigands are (usually) enemy only axe users who assault villages. Additionally, there are two characters in the game that seem to match the Brigand character archetype that I belieeeeve was allegedly started in FE6 by Maggie and Rose (the most memorable instance of this archetype is Vincent and Victor in FE13) "Dach" and "Gaha", who the wiki alleges are transliterated as Dahha and Gahha. They are "thieves" and share the same portrait reversed, in an extremely similar manner to the Brigand brothers. It's much more consistent and since Brigands seem to literally be "robbers" in the Japanese version of the games, it seems possible this is a mistranslation. Regardless it's something to consider for consistency with later games. You could alternatively make it Bandits, like in FE9/10, if you deem them to be sort a fusion between Brigands and Pirates like in those titles
  17. I think Classic and Casual should both remain options. I specifically remember an interview for a game (it was either FE6, 9, or 11) where the developers themselves basically said "Who actually adheres to perma death instead of resetting?" Which likely was the rational that led them to include casual mode in FE12 and onward. I am completely on board with the concept of casual mode, and, while I do vastly prefer the older games, I always play the 3DS games on casual as I am a completionist and having a permanent black mark detracting from getting 100% is something I can't bear unless it's a self imposed challenge (or iron man run as I've heard it called). This does NOT mean I brazingly throw units at the game- in fact, I get more enjoyment out of treating the game as if perma death was in effect, with casual mode being a MERE SAFETY NET. But the fact both casual and classic modes exist adds not only to broader appeal, but also replay value. I have the option if, one day, I decide I wanna do a classic iron man run with perma death, i am free to do that and it adds to the lasting appeal of the game to have multiple options. Side note: i also remember reading about an interview where the developers of FE9 made Ike a common mercenary for no other reason than to make him "more of a self insert" of the player, even though they eventually went with him being basically an Ogma archetype in the end. So the avatars of recent FE history have their roots not only in Nintendo Wars and FE7, but also Ike's development in the development cycle of Path of Radiance.
  18. I wonder if you are planning to make an optional graphics hack to make certain character portraits (like Alm and Valbar) consistent with their appearance in the artwork and awakening once the main translation is done, similar to how Gringe made an optional patch to change FE6's stats and RNG to FE7 standards
  19. As far as I know the plot is slightly different between FE1, 3 Book 1, and FE11 already, but 12 of course had a good chunk of the plot rewritten to accommodate new characters and characters from BSFE and FE11 into the main plot (Katarina, Wrys, and Malice for example). So I doubt it'll be an exact 1 to 1 transition but I guess a certain amount of consistency would be nice if possible If you want my humble opinion, I think both a text based version with the OST from Fe3 (like what they did with BS Zelda AST and ALttP's ost) and a silent version with the intent to eventually place voice acting and the original orchestral ost in would be ideal
  20. To everyone saying Nohr has no just motive- Azura's B support in revelation does indeed gloss over a motive that in my opinion might actually put Hoshido to a degree in the wrong and is a big reason I can't fucking stand pretty much any of the Hoshido siblings (especially Takumi) Apparently, Hoshido has been refusing to offer aid, food, or fucking anything even long before Garon went crazy, in spite of famine- with Hoshidans literally being described as "maybe outsiders might consider them self centered, as long as they have peace, they don't care about affairs outside their borders"- but with the note someone made about Ryoma not knowing a neighboring country had a famine it really paints the hoshidans as selfish assholes who probably get everything they deserve in Conquest (especially when you consider that they basically attempted to kidnap and murder Azura for "possibly" defecting to Nohr in direct defiance of Ryoma, makes me think Hoshido might have the capability to descend into absolute barbarism if shit hit the fan) It also makes me seriously question how moral of a person Sumeragi was, especially based on what we learn in Revelation about him. No wonder the Nohrians are just a bit pissed. I think Conquest!Corrin might be a case of the character knowing more than the audience
  21. I think an Archanean League (FE11), Altea Army (FE12), Jugdrali OR Granvallian, Thracian/Fiana Freeblade, and Liberation Army (FE4/5), a Magvellian (FE8), and maybe a Valentian(FE2) option would be nice. Just throw one in for every continent at this point eh? And maybe one for Fortuna Entertainment (TMS#FE) since you're already doing Smash? EDIT: And maybe a Dawn Brigade badge to go with the GMerc one
  22. I've heard Thracia 776 takes place in 776, and ends in December. HOWEVER, FE4 Chapter 6 takes place in 777 starting in the beginning of the year. If this is true then FE5 iss neatly and cleanly sandwitched between chapters 5 and 6. Anyone care to back my up on the dates to make sure im right or wrong?
  23. Eh, I could maybe lend my voice if you WANT it to a voice acting restoration if you need it. I don't know if I'll be any good but I can offer I guess. Is the plan to be as consistent as possible with the FE12 patch (Excepting Maris, since she was Malice in Awakening)?
  24. Heads up, the wiki says there's allegedly elements in FE1 that were removed entirely from both 3 and 11, but nonetheless referenced in later games, like crossbows which appeared in FE10 and Merlinus is supposed to be a reference to the FE1 convoy system. I may play this patch and point out references that are present in other games but absent in FE3 and 11, but I don't have much time to myself as of late. I'll see what happens with my schedule.
