  1. Julius has the best atmosphere and story. Grima has the best music. Medeus looks the most intimidating.
  2. FE4 has the best, most intriguing, most emotional and most legendary storyline. The tale of a war that lasts many generations, the tragic events, the grand feel... It is just great. If the writing was better, and the gameplay was Thracia 776 quality... it would be a perfect game.
  3. Fairy Tale: The Snow Queen (Hans Christian Andersen). Fable: The Honest Woodman (Aesop).
  4. I used to read Roger Ebert's reviews quite a lot, tbh. :sob: Now I only watch TGWTG.
  5. Favorite recruitment conversation: Marcia - Makalov in FE9 Favorite recruitment requirements: Xavier in FE5 (Am I a masochist?)
  6. Eyes Wide Shut. Dear god, why do many people think this is "the only bad Kubrick film" when it practically follows the pattern, style, storytelling and cinematography of every one of his other movies?! I think it is fantastic. In fact, it is in my Top 5 Favorite Films of the 90's. Everything works: The themes, the atmosphere, the music, the lights, the costumes, the story... omg, I think it is my favorite Kubrick film along with 2001.
  7. Shadow Dragon: Reclass is nice, but everything else was mediocre. Heroes of Light and Shadow: Reclass is nice, well designed maps, challenging difficulty, etc. My third favorite game in the franchise. Awakening: Production values were AMAZING, and gameplay was very good, as usual. In fact, I like the fact that it could appeal both to starters and to experts. Storywise, it sucked, but I don't play Fire Emblem for its story anyways.
  8. Her, Frozen and Gravity, in that order.
  9. What the title says. In case the reader doesn't know what this is, there was a disc available with Mario Kart Double Dash. If the disc was inserted in the Gamecube, and if the Gamecube was connected with the GBA, then it'd allow "transfer" data from the disc to the game. This would allow access to some items from Chapter 12 onwards. There are save files around the internet that allow access to these items. These are: -> Emblem Weapons (free Iron Weapons with 60 uses) -> An Emblem Seal (+10% hit and avoid) -> Statboosters (one of each class, except Speedwings ._. I believe they already knew that Speedwings!Marcus would be broken) -> A Wind Sword. -> A Dragon Axe. -> A Thor's Ire. -> A Silver Card. I haven't read any consensus regarding these items in LTC context, so I wonder what impact would these items make in an efficiency environment. I apologize for the grammar mistakes.
  10. Calling of Peace, Music Box, and Ending Ballade. I pretty much consider all of them as one entire song... and when listened all together... it is gorgeous, and one of my favorite songs ever. Not just from gaming, but also from every genre. Genealogy of the Holy War is the only Fire Emblem I actually play for its story. It isn't the best written, sure, but it is certainly one of the most intriguing stories I have seen in a videogame. The tale of many nations in war, betrayals, fears, oppression for generations... The whole thing was crazy enough to make its fictional inhabitants depressed. All of this made me feel something for the characters. I legitimately rooted for the heroes, and wanted them to triumph despite the shortcomings. Because I truly wanted them to be live in peace at the end. Listening the three songs for the first time broke my heart, because that's what they represent to me: The purest representation of peace in musical form. When I listen to it, I feel that Sigurd's soul can rest in peace, and Seliph and his friends can finally live in harmony after an entire life of misery. I know everything is just fiction... but damn, it meant a lot to me as a person.
  11. Another question: Why were the 2 Speedwings necessary for Roy? He hasn't enough VA for double attacking Idoun anyways, and the only instance it could have helped was against the Berserker in Chapter 22 (and he avoided the attack anyways).
  12. I've been watching the battle preparations of your videos. I noticed that Roy had 10 Def before promotion. When did you give Roy the Dracoshields, and when was it relevant? I believe you could have sold them for more Boots. (?)
  13. rutogaspeed 10/10 He's still awesome with growths, and makes the cited boss strategies more reliable. I believe Rutoga Lv11/1 reaches 22 Atk, 20 VA, 70% Critical with Killing Edge, which is capable of doubling and ORKO'ing Hand Axe!Henning after two crits.
  14. People with anti-Jeigan bias. Not here, but in other forums people still think that the early prepromotes are Exp Hogs. On-topic: Marcus is a bro. In a run with growths, he's not strictly necessary to beat the game. In fact, in casual play, beating FE6 without Marcus gaining a single point of EXP is quite easy with EXP farming (I have done that in my n00bish days). In efficient play, though, he's a must, even with growths. I find his position in this list to be adequate for a no-growths standard. Also, Marcus > Ike. I approve.
  15. I really wished there was some mention of FE1!Jagen. Then I remembered you hadn't played FE1. Or you haven't tried it in 0% growths at the very least. Also, Jagen > Ike is cool. and people still hate him for some reason
  16. From the way your describe it, it seems logical that: -> Ryan is the best, because he actually contributes in Prologue (as far as I'm concerned, Prologue contributions are counted), has the least opportunity cost, allows you to use someone else, and the statboosters invested in him give excellent returns.. -> Draug is the second best because he doesn't requiere preference, but doesn't give back amazing returns. -> Rody is the worst since he requires preference in form of turncounts in order to be superior to Draug, who is the second best.
  17. and people still hate him due to anti-jeigan bias (or due to being miccy's canon husband) Cool entry. He's very useful in every playthrough.
  18. 10. Froslass: Looks pretty, her story is interesting, has a nice niche as an anti-lead, and I'm a fan of ghost types. 9. Hydreigon: It's awesome to look at, and it's very powerful despite the Gen VI nerf. 8. Milotic: Looks graceful, has a very strong niche in Gen III, and is the Pokémon that took me the most to get, so I have a very strong connection with it. 7. Deoxys: Alien Pokémon. Bad-ass. Multiple Forms. Versatility. Broken. 6. Snorlax: Mainly because I used CurseLax in Gen II before it was cool, and it was tons of fun to play with and massacre n00bs. Now I use DrumLax. 5. Genesect: Terminator. 4. Aegislash: Tons of fun to play with, its story is interesting, and the mixed set + Weakness Policy is just broken. 3. Darkrai: Looks awesome, has a very cool story both in the anime films and in the Mystery Dungeon games, and is a beast in battles. 2. Blaziken: I raised a chicken as a kid for cockfighting. Blaziken gives me a nostalgic feeling of the experience. Plus, Speed Boost is broken, and Baton Pass is even more. And it has the most badass Mega Evo. 1. Gengar: Coolest Pokémon design ever. In fact, I remember that the Gen I designer said that Gengar was also his favorite design. And its Mega Evolution takes it one step further by being the most intimidating Pokémon to date. In battle, it's an asassin in every single generation because of its unpredictability and resources, and is the Pokémon I enjoy the most playing with. That's pretty cool, like a ninja. I believe that Smogon has Gengar in the highest tier in the Ubers Viability Thread, on par with behemoths such as Kyogre, Mewtwo and Xerneas. That's cool. Also, it's appearance in the first Mystery Dungeon game is downright poignant. ;_;
  19. Shaman / Druid, cuz dark magic is cool and FE6!Nosferatu or FE7!Luna are really good. Though I wouldn't have the con. for carrying the tomes.
  20. Didn't see him coming. Also, who is the one that has better bases in fe9? Or did you mean FE10?
  21. FE4. The only Fire Emblem worth playing for its story alone rather than its gameplay. Chapter 5 makes me shed a tear every single time.
