Kendeall was still grumpy as shit about the cold and everything about the day in general. It sucked, and that fight sucked, and dealing with the stupid nerd and her stupid teenage mood swings sucked, and wait, what the fuck was that green that he just- Oh. Oh holy shit.
As the sea snake seemed to outright devour Vriska whole, Kendeall felt a number of conflicting emotions. Some normal for the situation - like abject horror that a giant fucking snake was trying to eat them all - and some not, namely the complete lack of a single fuck that he gave that Vriska was just... gone. Was he an asshole for it? Maybe.
But she started it. And he saw it through to the end, even if it was a bit... sudden.

Before Igor could respond to yet more questions, his assistant, Estelle, came back out to the group from behind the curtain she was hiding behind. The group could see Saburo from where they sat; he appeared to be fine, physically anyways. "Operation successful, Master." Turning to the quartet before her, Estelle nodded and gave a warm smile. The strange woman replied, before leading the quartet to the door.

And with that, the four Persona users, as well as Kiyomi and Saburo, were whisked out of the blue hospital room and into... the shopping district, before the usually closed store simply named Aquamarine.

Hoo boy. The elitism is getting incredibly strong up in here.
Allow me to try and debunk this:
Phoenix Mode: There's still the simple fact that it is a choice to play the game in this mode, and the fact that maybe some people want to just go through the story and enjoy themselves that way is perfectly acceptable to those people. Just because a fair chunk of people here want balls-out hard gameplay doesn't mean that everyone in the fanbase does - we're not the only FE fans out there. Besides, we don't know the specifics of the mode; for all we know, this could be a difficulty even more sadistic in nature than Lunatic+, and the constant revival mechanic is thrown is as a mercy mode kind of thing. Wait until we see more about it to pass judgement, and even then, just make it "I'm not playing this mode" because it just comes off as elitist when you criticize the entire game for a completely optional mechanic.
Unlimited Blade Works (I couldn't help it): So... why exactly are we bitching about this, again? Sure, it adds some element of strategy, but really, I've found weapon durability to be nothing more than a mild annoyance in the grand scheme of things in FE games. I'll admit that this is a bit more tricky to determine if this messes with the balancing of the game, but this isn't some trash dev here; IS knows what they're doing, so I'm sure they'll make it work.
Really, this is just more of the same shit that turns people off the fandom as a whole, because SF represents the largest section of the vocal fanbase of the game, and rather than actually try and get new people into the games, people bash everything related to getting newcomers into the series in favour of some sort of weird nostalgia filter that dictates every FE game must be hard, and only real fans can beat them.
So what if some of these new mechanics cater to newbies? Are the elitists here really so scared of having their voices drowned out by newcomers to the series - which, by the way, can only help to get more games in the series that you love so much - that they have to alienate everyone not in their sect of the fandom?

Anyway, I thought I read someone on the interwebs something about the "pair-up" function being almost split where you pick between dual-attack or dual-guard? Anything about that here or is that just speculation?

Not 100% sure about the fit as Ryouma specifically, but it works.

I wish I had a Famitsu link for this, but still. Considering how generally reliable Famitsu is with this stuff, I'm taking this at face value.
One other thing I noticed is that most of the JP VAs cast so far are all major names in anime voicework (hell, Marx's VA did the voice of fucking Kamina), which wasn't true for most of Awakening's cast (only the mains/Lissa/Fred/Tiki/Emm/Validar and fsr Lon'qu/Henry had anyone recognizable) and, while it's still early, the cast has me optimistic for a similarly big name cast not only in JP for everyone else, but also in that they'll go back to L.A. for the English dub of If to get big names.

Phoenix Mode appears to be the latest in a trend of Japanese games basically having a "Enjoy the Story" difficulty setting, which I have no issues with; if you really wanna blitz through, see the story first before really hunkering down and playing the game after, that's your call, and I have no objections. I mean, I'm never gonna use it, but I mean. It's there.

Also, upon further review, I did not, in fact, call any of those VAs being cast. That said I am okay with... uh, most of them. Who the hell is the guy voicing the male Kamui again?

To be fair, though, the Falcons doing the shit they did didn't exactly help them this season, so it's probably that factor that lessened the punishment. Deflategate directly aided a team in getting to the Super Bowl, and thus the hammer had to fall a bit harder.
Of course, it could just be that Goodell wants to prove a fucking point and took Deflategate too far, but y'know. That's another story.
