  1. What methods are you using, what kinda MIDI is it, did you set up the MIDI properly, etc.
  2. *facepalm* gotta love how people jump to conclusions about who will/won't be in based on very small factors
  3. Ahahaha, I think I know why that happened. That's really cute
  4. I like her and use her, but I don't think I could convince you of anything. I just use that weapon she comes with and Alondite, feed her a bit, and have a blast. I just like using her for some reason, at least in FE10 (not as much FE9). XP
  5. shut up Felover, you don't hack, you only lurk *shot* so someone just needs to write down all the offsets or something? if it's really that useful, maybe we could get one of the programming nerds here to write a program for it, huehuehue
  6. I haven't really played any recent ones but Pokemon Shiny Gold and Pokemon Volt White ring a bell (the latter of which has a counterpart, Blaze Black, that's very similar). I think I played a few before but they were mostly incomplete etc. so meh, this kind of applies to FE too but I like playing finished products over simple but quality demos, so I usually won't jump into a Pokemon game unless I know I can finish it whenever I feel like it
  7. lol, I had this same problem "Cid's unbeatable" > someone beats Cid *buffs him* *makes sure during testing to try to beat Cid, still can't beat him* > someone still beats Cid you've got to really lay down the hammer XD I made this same joke in my LP @Supports, I hear that they will be added later but currently are not integrated (and there are no support points being raised or anything in the mean time, so sitting characters next to each other probably won't do you much good) I approve
  8. I don't think it's all that strange, personally. It's not like we release a hack as soon as we finish the chapter we want it to go up to--other chapters would have their work started in advance and I'd have probably gone and revised some of the previous chapters too for the patch... amongst doing other things in advance as well (like including portraits, maps, or scripts I haven't used yet). Well, maybe some people release it that way, which is fine, but I guess Mike and I didn't, haha.
  9. It's really not that hard to patch but if you can't learn to do it yourself then you can just download my pre-patched ROM.
  10. I have a feeling the problem has more to do with the edit to the module than Nightmare, at least in the lattermost case, since I've repointed several modules without issue, as have many others, I'm sure...
  11. I don't know how far you guys are, but you're in for some surprises *shot shot shot* seriously though Hellios' speed could use some work for late-game IMO, but otherwise he's pretty solid EDIT: also Al with all these questions it might be worth it to invest in a walkthrough or at least a F.A.Q. XD
  12. Sweet, sounds great! Sorry for wasting your time then! Looking forward to the future updates!
  13. *pokes head in* So I'm playing this hack and LPing it with a friend and it's pretty awesome. I'd like to take this moment out to first apologize because we're sort of total jokes when it comes to LPing and we may have inadvertently offended you or someone elseduring it. We only do this because we're just being silly and having fun. The hack is great and our actual complaints are very few--everything else is just poking fun at stuff because we're trying to keep it interesting and have something to talk about. You can find the LP uploaded later on my channel (won't link but just saying). Next, one of the things we... more specifically, I did was point out some grammar issues or hint towards them. As it turns out, thanks to years of writing experience, tutorial-writing, and proofreading game scripts (the FE12 translation, The Last Promise, other hacks) I cannot help but notice all the small problems in a script, even if I don't want to (believe me, I am TRYING to just enjoy the game like a normal human being). That being said you might find it useful if you haven't already fixed them. At the same time, we're sort of lazy and don't want to accumulate all the instances of mixing up your/you're or a line skip or something, so it'd sort of require you to watch the LP. Furthermore, we thought that chapter 1 might have some bonus for not killing the soldiers, but didn't find one, and were honestly a little disappointed since the hack seemed like it would like to give one or something. Did you not think to give one, or were you unable to come up with a way to check if those soldiers were killed? If it's the latter, I suggest giving those soldiers a unique character ID (the stats etc. don't matter) and then tying a special death quote to them--the death quote needs to have an event/trigger ID attached to it, and then at the end of the chapter, check if it was activated. If it WAS, that means at least one of those soldiers died--if NOT, then it means none of them died. I say this because we sort of went out of our way and I think while it's not necessary, it might be a cool future. You may have already implemented something, intended to do so, or had a reason for not doing so, in which case we apologize and hope you ignore our suggestion. :) ... Moderator or Mini-Mod: Look at the date of the last thread! When was this topic last posted in? Indeed... it was over a month ago! I believe this fair member has just earned himself a penalty for necroposting! Time to lock up this thread, too! Me: You'll have to do better than that. You see, I happen to have an excerpt from the Code of Conduct right here... Moderator or Mini-Mod: What? No one reads the rules! How could you?! Me: Whether anyone reads them or not is irrelevant, now isn't it? Because the fact is, the rules dictate clearly that if a topic has not fallen outside of the first page of the board, the conditions for a post being considered a necropost have NOT been met! *epic music* Thus me, the accused and the defendant and my own defense attorney, am NOT guilty of necroposting! EDIT: Just poking fun, plzdon'tkillme
  14. The game's coming out the 25th, right? I'll just bumrush Midnight Sun and if I'm not absolutely sick of playing Fire Emblem by then... P.S. Klok I'll upload some 1080p HD videos I recorded just for you I still didn't put any real effort into them, I just upgraded my toaster to a 21st century model I'm joking as well in case anyone can't tell
  15. The fact that lots of people aren't lying and saying they TOTALLY expected Ike to be back is nice. I mean, I sort of expected him to be, but I'm not going to say I didn't have my doubts and was totally ready to be disappointed. XD
  16. no no no he's real http://www.smashbros.com/us/characters/ike.html the hype is real or something EDIT: P.S. I saw this somewhere Certain characters, especially certain veterans, probably won't be revealed until the game comes out, I think Look at previous games/trends It's not for sure that it's this way, but it would certainly explain why characters that will obviously return, like Captain Falcon and Ness (they've been in every installment, it would be a huge uproar and nonsensical in general not to include them...), have not been announced
  17. Dangit, I was too busy posting other places to be the one to be like "HA, THIS THREAD IS USELESS NOW" or something, XD I don't even think Lucinan would make a great playable character in terms of gameplay due to similarities to Marth, can we please remember that Smash Bros. is more than just having your favorite characters playable *shot* seriously though, let's just focus on Ike hype
  18. I like to be led down a good path and have options to choose other, potentially also good, paths. Environment? There should be plenty to explore, but there should be some good purpose to it. Items? There can be extra ones, but not a ton of variety, especially to the point where I'm confused as to what I should pick or have to spend lots of time focusing on it. Then it's just annoying. There should be good items, and then some unique or gimmicky items and some secret strong items, but I should always be fine with just using whatever naturally comes at me. That's how I like it, anyhow. Story? I don't like tons of choices, honestly. I get worried about the end result. I like to experience the game and not miss out. Having choices is cool, and having slightly different endings is cool, but it does sort of bother me a little if it's so open that the story isn't really told and you just sort of piece a non-coherent story on your own, or if the story has so many different paths that you feel like there's no meaning to it. I prefer a more typical RPG story where it's "this is what happens, but the interpretation, exact order of events, etc. are up to you/can be fleshed out", with multiple endings being cool. Classes/jobs? Again, I like things simple and I don't like having to make tons of choices, so I prefer each class or job or whatever has pretty clear cut strengths/weaknesses so I'm not doing dumb stuff like with items where it's "do I want a slightly faster attack speed while giving up a tiny bit of movement and defense, or do I want a HP and SP regen boost over the base attack damage with scimitars and the dexterity boost in rainy weather" There are exceptions to pretty much all of these when they're well executed, the problem for me is that a lot of games over-complicate things will trying to add "depth" and it's just confusing and dumb and doesn't work and sort of frustrating for me because I'd rather spend my time on something that to me, actually matters... in other words, I want to spend more time fighting, not tweaking my equipment and character stats personal prefs tho
  19. ^I feel like anything related to your enjoyment of Fire Emblem: Awakening should be added, or something, lol Mine: - Awakening 3DS (N.A. version) w/ game: $220 or something ridiculous - Awakening (at midnight launch): $44 or so I'm guessing (yay taxes) - DLC: maybe $50? (multiple copies = multiple DLC purchases) I've also got an Awakening-themed mousepad, but I can't remember how much that cost. That's about the limit of my Awakening spending though... for now, anyway. I'd be down to buy more stuff if I, you know, had the money. But all the money I have is going towards slightly more important things XD
  20. I was going to mention this earlier but didn't: there's a way to go about things, and I think Al is the exception as far as ragging being helpful goes. He managed to push through with sheer willpower despite being torn apart/depressed, whereas most people would have quit--like many people have done in the past. The product ended up better, but just because it works one out of ten times (at the cost of people's time, self-confidence, and other things), doesn't mean it should keep happening, and you definitely shouldn't be happy about it when somebody could've had the same positive effect as you without all the added negative effects.
  21. "dibs"? sorry, I didn't realize this was something you could get "dibs" on, lol, did the hack creator sign an exclusive agreement with you for special media attention with an interview and press release and all that jazz? ahahaha oh and thanks for randomly firing shots too, no one's going to steal your "dibs", relax
  22. lol, some dude and I were just discussing whether this was going to be a thing again I'll be blunt, I personally think the execution needs a lot of work but I doubt anyone's willing to put in the time or effort needed to make an awesome event and I can't really complain since I'm not doing anything (though I'd be willing to set up a section of FES that people can edit and upload project pages to and use as storage if anyone finds that useful, I've got lots of free space and you're essentially getting free advertising)
