  1. Maps are a little bland terrain-wise (you've got the "forest-in-a-corner syndrome", similar ones are "river-in-the-corner" and "mountain-in-the-corner"--look at your map and you'll see what I mean) but they're not bad in general. Keep at it and good luck!
  2. That is pretty uh... random/obscure for lack of better words that I can think of but neat indeed
  3. I don't really hate these games (hating takes too much effort and requires me to actively dislike it) but Legend of Zelda; Ocarina of Time Super Mario World Super Mario 64 Also not a fan of a lot of FPS but again, too lazy to really "hate" them. *thinks a little more* The Binding of Isaac Minecraft League of Legends Smite Hearthstone Terraria Actually I'm pretty close to hating Minecraft, Hearthstone, and LoL, but still not enough to say I truly hate them, lol
  4. It's cool, I tried to be unique and vote for only FE7 on the basis that Nintendo will be silly and won't release FE6 at all just because and that they won't release FE8 because some people have it via the 3DS Ambassador program already. I think having what L95 said though is a bit more probable, just give them like, 4-5 years >_>;
  5. Abyss is IMO one of the worst Tales games with boring gameplay, boring plot, terrible characters, and many other issues. I always find it funny when people try that as their first Tales game (especially since it's for the 3DS and most Tales games are for Sony systems--irony, lol) and think it was great and want to try the others. I just tell myself "gosh, if only you had started with a good Tales game...", lol. *shots fired* That's just my opinion though--Abyss was my 3rd or so Tales game I think (and I've played like ten) but I didn't really enjoy it compared to the others. Anyhow, if you don't mind going back to a relatively old game where the age shows (monsters don't have unique sprites, no free run, no skippable cutscenes, amongst many other things) go play Symphonia which you can get in HD with a few "new" features (compared to the Gamecube version) for the PS3. I suggest doing a little research into EX Skills and the gameplay in general so you can get the most out of the game--it's a lot more fun when you play on Manual and know how to combo enemies and time unison attacks and such. Dawn of the New World is totally broken but if you liked Symphonia it's probably worth it to play it once to know what happens, the gameplay is also fun if you like easy games where you can pull ridiculous combo bullcrap and such but don't expect very technical gameplay like with Symphonia or Vesperia. I'd personally suggest Vesperia though, it has some of the best gameplay of any Tales of game that's very technical and with lots of depth (unlike Graces F which is fun but mostly because of the dodge mechanic and Xillia which is notoriously known to be boring and bland) and with some sweet voice acting and good in-game graphics as well. Graces F after that--the battle system is a bit different but once you learn it it's quite fun, albeit again, I don't think the battle system is as deep or exploitable as Vesperia--the most fun will be learning to time dodges and enjoying the beautiful, colorful gameplay (as opposed to Xillia's more dull but slightly more realistic graphics). Both Vesperia's and Graces F's plots are probably just average from a normal standpoint, I happen to like Vesperia's a lot because of the character development and was able to enjoy Graces F but in general Tales plots aren't very amazing or revolutionary, expect lots of cliches amongst other things. Xillia's plot is really boring and the gameplay isn't as technical but it's still a Tales game so it'll probably still be fun. (I also think Xillia's music wasn't as good as Symphonia's, Vesperia's, or Graces F's, and I think I'm not the only one who feels this way.) If I had to order my suggestions (starting with the most suggested)... 1. Vesperia (I'd play the English version unless you understand Japanese; the language barrier is a huge setback to proper enjoyment of the game otherwise, save the PS3 version for a 2nd playthrough if you really want to) 2. Symphonia (HD! includes new mystic artes and a few other things) 3. Graces F 4. Symphonia 2 (again, HD, though it doesn't really matter) 5. Xillia 6. Xillia 2 (it'll probably be out by then unless you're a super fast gamer) 7. Hearts R if you imported the original DS version, I feel kinda bad lol Legendia's story and music are great but if you aren't a fan of the Tales series already I don't think you'll be able to get into it--the gameplay is pretty stale and 2D at that and in general the game is kinda slow to play. Innocence R is another suggestion if you can understand Japanese. I'd avoid playing the Tempest, Innocence, or Hearts unless you become a hardcore Tales of fan who wants to play every game. If by that point you aren't sick of the Tales series, go back and play some of the older titles like Phantasia and Destiny... and there are lots of spin-offs, too, like the various Tales of the World games. The series is actually pretty freaking big, all things considered.
  6. I like how it looks like the dinosaur-looking thing is touching Frankenstein's ear in that one pic also just throwing out the fact that no one is obligated to respond to one's remarks, criticisms, questions, etc. and treating people like they are is lame
  7. No it's just that when managing a cast of over 40 characters I was bound to forget one of them that had a less memorable recruitment (I think I used a character list that had forgotten Yue and possibly Liuke as a basis for some of this stuff and yeah) Support library and sound room both work REALLY weird so I couldn't really get them to work. For the sound room I just ASM-hacked it so every song is unlocked, I dunno if I could do that for the support library even if I wanted to. lolwut that's weird, pic? not a huge fan of paired endings + I was low on time + I don't care for most of the game or characters in TLP (no offense TLP just doesn't have van amazing plot or cast) so there are only a couple I think, don't ask me which ones I don't know it's been ages lol. also 7x should have been fixed at some point (probably the latest patch but some avid fan probably knows TLP better than I do at this point, I only legitimately beat the game like once, every other time I beat it was during development over the course of several months or longer lol) *disappears again*
  8. Well played this is like, 5 years overdue but it's cool anyway if VincentASM approves so do I *shot*
  9. I hear The Last of Us is good, hue. TWEWY's good (well, I think it's absolutely amazing but I'll hold back my gushing fanboying). Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Hey, you said good writing, not necessarily very deep or insightful or whatever. :P Do they have to be in English? Cuz there's the Trails in the Sky trilogy remade in HD for PS3... *shot*

    Hacking

I was giving an honest response instead of assuming he wanted to hack one of thousands of games out there, not being a jerk (some of us have hacked more than just Fire Emblem) I could have just said "just ****ing google it" or something, instead in hopes that s/he isn't a troll I linked to something that might help him decide on a more specific question to ask :P not that it really matters, just felt like saying XD
  11. I think it's originally based on cost and can also be hardcoded via some staff EXP patch that I thought was already integrated into FEditor Adv for FE7 but may have not been time for you to do some research, Ghast (hint: play around with the cost and look through Hextator's doc and see if you can't find something of use)
  12. I chuckled a little on hearing the pronounciation of Faratrass. ...Just a little. EDIT: It's by no means a bad name though, IMO. Not like everyone will like every name anyhow.

  14. Gamecube, will use Pro Controller when SSB4 comes out ofc
  15. The game's freaking hard, yeah, I feel you. Not sure how I even beat the story mode. Not as hardcore as some people where I unlocked everything; not only am I not into that stuff, but I doubt I'd be able to do it for a game like this, lol.
  16. They sound solid enough, I might be one to tweak the weather a bit but I like that you're at least thinking about some legitimate ideas and not just adding more classes/weapons and stuff. Personally, I want to see varied goal conditions and more difficult AI on harder levels--AI where the enemies are doing stuff like rescuing their own units, being smart about healing, etc., noting that the maps should be relatively small/short to prevent things from getting too ridiculous/out-of-hand--or at least include checkpoints so that people don't have to restart a 1 hour map all the way from the beginning when they screw up and lose a necessary character in Classic mode. On the note of enemy AI, having bosses that could pair up is something I was hoping I would see in Awakening, but didn't. Having ALL enemies pair up could be a bit of a drag and make things too complicated (not to mention Lunatic would officially be impossible) but I generally like the idea of having enemies being able to use some of the same skills/resources you can; in FE13 it's very easy to win just because you've got way more weapons in your arsenal (both literal weapons and things like pairing up) than the enemy, as opposed to actually using strategy and such. Not saying it should be -pure- strategy, only that harder levels should even the field and force the player to put their own skills on the table (and no, time-investment, i.e. grinding for levels or money, is not really considered a "skill" in my book, lol). EDIT: more varied weather conditions as opposed to pretty much only affecting movement costs or field vision see above his idea seems a lot more detailed than just adding in ballistae lol I personally like the idea of a siege map--play it from either side, having various siege weapons at your arsenal either for defense or offense (e.g. rams, ballistae, catapults, whatever). Maybe even have the option to block off walls after they've been broken, and bring back things like mines and light runes for strategic purposes. I also think that this kinda map would be better suited to a bonus mode or something--it's less "Fire Emblem-like" and it'd be a bit complicated and though it might present more depth I just don't know if it'd fit in a main-game chapter... *shrug*
  17. I've heard a lot of poor things about it, but regardless I already had it pre-ordered so I picked it up today and gave it a chance myself. I agree that the music is kinda meh and the introduction wasn't very interesting (like, I know it's a Nintendo platformer and I shouldn't expect much but I honestly had a hard time tolerating it and just wanted to play already). It -is- sort of not too original outside of the new abilities, but I think it's still a solid game in its own right. I'd put it around a 70-75, which might not sound good to some people but to me that kinda rating is solid. The ~60-65 average it seems to be getting is unfair, IMO, and it seems like people are expecting it to be as amazing as the original was: sure, it's a sequel, but at the same time... it's a sequel. Obviously some things are going to be repeated and it can't be as revolutionary as the original. I'd say for the average person, you should probably wait until this goes for $29.99 before picking it up, since it's a rather short game, there was no pre-order bonus, and it's not a must-play or anything, but for a loyal Nintendo or Yoshi fan, pick it up now and just judge it for what it is instead of comparing it to previous games/having ridiculous expectations for it, and I think you'll enjoy it. :\
  18. I didn't try it out lol you could make a very fast/easy ASM hack to temporarily give him high move. Easier than your solution (how would stats carry over too?)
  19. I thought of something like this to make it more "general" RPG like where you have to move around to talk to people and can interact with your party more and it feels slightly more open etc. I dunno. It could be okay but if it takes too long it might detract from the more fun part of the gameplay. The interactions also would need to be kinda well done.
  20. Should be unless they make some whack changes to the game to change it, but that rarely happens. Safest option would be to wait but generally speaking (can't speak for DoF specifically) hacks don't have their save data format changed so you should be good to go *shrug* EDIT: whoops ninja'd sowwy
  21. Sadly, no, I don't know of a better place nor do I think there is one. You can get it cheaper at GameStop if you have a powerup rewards card or borrow someone's, but yeah sadly it was a GameStop Exclusive with limited copies and it's freaking hard to find for anything lower than $60 (it was even worse before IIRC). I only got one because I bought it on day-one and I'm glad I didn't trade it in because I almost did... it's rare to find it in great condition and it's a great game, haha. You could try waiting for GS to have a sale but it could be a while. There's what the above poster said, and also you could try asking friends or going on forums where people trade games, though that's going to take quite a bit of effort/searching and has its own problems (e.g. you might not find any, there might be competitive offers, shipping costs, condition isn't guaranteed, etc.)
  22. There's a Sound Room Editor expand the array if you need to... it should all be more or less self-explanatory
  23. I was offended? Do you even know what that MEANS? *shot* i didn't know those two projects were related lol also Dazer =/= Blazer and Danved =/= Devdan huehuehue disappointed. 10 seconds. it's just not my kinda joke. obv my sense of humor is terrible. nothing personal. wish you luck! :)
