  1. 1. Now he's finished with the current game, what will he do next?

    • Spend time figuring out how to fit Ridley inside the next Smash disc
      8
    • Reboot Donkey Kong Jr. Math
      4
    • Team up with Hideo Kojima for "Mario and Solid Snake at the Olympic Games"
      10
    • Find another way to nerf Zelda even more
      9
    • Bask in the glory of all the salt he's created from DLC

I'd like to say it's the blast effect too, but look at Link's pose. He looks like he just swung his sword, like he deflected the blast right back at Samus and she's shielding herself to keep from taking damage.

Looks like Samus is recoiling from firing a shot. And that shot is the smaller purple orb close to Samus' right knee. Link's swing seemed to miss Samus.

Still hoping for Tales, but at this point I'm not gonna invest in anymore expectations except Chrom or Lucina and possibly Krystal since she's the most obvious character from Starfox to put in. After that upset from Wii Fit Trainer, it could be anything....

I'm not very hyped :s

It looks very Brawl-ish, like a lateral move instead of an advancement

It seems less "floaty" than Brawl to me, but the graphics are definitely similar. I don't really mind though, it looks great even if it's not a huge change. I'm really impressed with the 3DS visuals though, wasn't sure what to expect.

I'm hoping for new game types and ways to play, like a multi-man survival, king of the hill, etc, and more customization with game types. One of my favourite things about Brawl was inventing a new way to play (99 lives, 300% damage, flower on a small stage really mixes up the tier list.) Also, better online in general.

Does that mean customizable move sets for characters? Or unique custom characters? I actually don't want custom characters in Smash, I think it will take too much attention away from regular characters.

"He wouldn't elaborate on exactly what those customizations are, saying only that they won't be costumes and they won't be something that players have to unlock through repetitive tasks."

This really only sounds like Mii to me.

Samus: Think fast! *shoots arm gun*

Mario: OH SHI--!

Kirby: Ooh, pretty missile...

Sorry, just had to lol. Anyway, I don't want Miis or anything like that either. Different costumes rather than color palettes would be awesome though. But not customizable ones and I'm glad those won't be in it.

Yeah, I think putting in both Wii Fit lady and Mii would be too much... Two spots taken up by characters no one really wanted that could've been occupied by a more popular character.

Got our new pic of today. Gives us a close up to Samus and a better look at this boxing ring stage. The ropes look like the ones in the Wii Punch Out!! Game, so Little Mac's chances ARE just that more likely

What the heck. This place is dead for like over a year. A new smash game gets a trailer comes out and this thread suddenly has like 15 pages of posts in about 3 days time. Wow. People were bored with brawl, melee, and smash64.

Oh, yeah. That's Punch-Out, alright.

Samus's armor design is... interesting to say the least. Either she suddenly got a lot skinnier or she has a corset on under that suit, I don't know. No chance in mistaking her gender anymore though! :)

I wonder if Zero Suit Samus will return.

Personally I'm not bothered by it, but getting ZSS into awkward positions and screenshots with other male fighters was quite entertaining.

But now we have Wii Fit Trainer to do that to.

I remember an early piece of art Sakurai's team did while they said smash 4 was in development it showed ZSS. But I'm not sure if it means anything

It probably doesn't mean much, lots of ideas get scrapped early on in game development.
