Rethel34
Ok, now THAT sounds more involved. The reason I questioned it was because literally at first all it sounded like was "hey can i copy music straight from a game, give it some new soundfonts and call it mine?" lol Sorry for misunderstanding you. Busterman64
You know that feeling when you have a great idea in your head, but when it's time to put it on paper, you have no idea where or how to start and it causes you to start working/making progress much later? Yeah, that's been me for a while. Hopefully, I finish my entry half-way through January.

FEFalchion
I was thinking of doing a drawing. Could the drawing be of official art (E.g i draw the Kozakis character art for Chrom but drew and coloured it all myself) or does it have to be completely original? carefreejules
2. Your submission must not include copyrighted assets. Q: Can I submit X? A: As long as your submission is original content, related to the Fire Emblem main series, and doesn't break the SF Code of Conduct or event rules (ie no pornographic images) it will be accepted. Use those talents of yours to create something unique, if that's your thing. I was thinking of doing a drawing. Could the drawing be of official art (E.g i draw the Kozakis character art for Chrom but drew and coloured it all myself) or does it have to be completely original? If you're using his art as reference for your own, it should be fine. Edited January 3, 2016 by carefreejules
TheSilentChloey
I had two months and submitted mine within four days. Probably should've worked harder. XP I'm going over some ideas, though, so I may change mine... That would depend on what you call by working harder. I think I did the best I could with the piece I entered. I know I can improve on it, but I want to see how I'm going first before I start picking appart the flaws of said work

eclipse
If you're using his art as reference for your own, it should be fine. To reiterate: - Drawing your take on Chrom: Fine. - Recoloring one of Kozaki's Twitter drawings: Not fine.
Jotari
It's a funny sort of midway point we have with this competition. You're not allowed to do something completely original (since it must be Fire Emblem related) yet you can't much use of the assets already implemented. Jotari
Is... is the concept of fanart new to you or something? Fanart. I'll have you know I'm planning on doing a Fire Emblem themed interpretive dance number!

Jotari
Alas I jest. My budget can not accommodate something so extravagant. It'll be a plain old fanfic for me. Perhaps next year.

PeaceRibbon
When we PM our submissions in, should it just contain the piece or can we add some messages/specifications we'd like you to know? Edit: Actually this might not be necessary anymore. Feel free to answer or skip if ya feel like it. Edited January 5, 2016 by PeaceRibbon
carefreejules
Btw, is posting WIPs to your art thread against the rules? I won't post too many because frankly, I don't want anyone to copy my idea but I'd like to document my progress and show it once or twice. Tangerine
You can leave a note for me with your submission if you're concerned/want to talk about something, I don't see why not. You can show or talk about your submission wherever you like. It's only private by default for those who prefer their submissions be anonymous, if you'd like to share your work with your friends or whatever it's totally fine. Kurrin
Would something with recognizable Fire Emblem characters and an appropriate location setting constitute as "Fire Emblem related", even if the premise isn't something you would expect to see in a Fire Emblem game? For example: a carnival or characters engaing in a sleepover. Or would that be considered pushing it?
Tangerine
That's fine, using FE characters at all would automatically make it FE related, lol!
CaitlynMellark
Is it fine if we make fanart that is a crossover between fandoms? And also, is it okay to use another artist's work as reference for your art? (because some people can't draw, & need to look at other people's art to draw something even remotely decent) And I don't mean like copy it I mean like, use some assets from it but add on to it
