I wouldn't put it pass them to sell the swimsuits as DLC, but I doubt it.

Like already stated, localisers will usually translate everything in a given file, without checking if it's used or not. Sometimes they're given instructions though or somebody has already removed the unused text for them.

You get funny moments like in Radiant Dawn where the localisers blanked out the Herons' battle conversations with Deghinsea thinking they were unused.

There's also Old Hubba's unused (and hilarious) Roster profile in Awakening that was recently unearthed : P

So, from what I understand, the current first DLC Pack for the US are all the current/entire Japanese DLCs. Except, that's the problem here, it's called Pack 1. If they translated the swimsuit names and everything......they're gonna sell the swimsuits as DLC, aren't they?

HAH! That's just wishful thinking. I'm torn really. I know it doesn't affect the overall game much, but I really feel cheated that NoA is a bunch of prudes and took it out. At the same time, I don't want to deal with the hassle of importing the game and using patch software. It just sucks.

Idk, I don't know that the naming conventions really matter to the devs.

I mean, think of real life. People name their kids whatever sounds pretty with no regard to where it came from. I actually think that getting rid of the Japanese kid names could totally feasibly happen. For Caeldori, maybe Subaki heard the name and thought it was cute? Obviously Gen I could use Japanese names, but Gen II could have a bit more changes and it still make sense.

Shinonome is a little long. I'd be interested in seeing it changed. I prefer Rhajat and Selkie to Syalla and Kinu for instance, and I absolutely adore Caeldori because of how it sounds and looks.

Hello there. I would like to thank you for making assumptions based on your culture.

Japanese have a huge distinction between foreign names and their own. They even make you take on a Japanese name once you gain citizenship if you were once non-Japanese with a foreign name.

Fantasy Japan being based on ancient Japan? That would be a "no" to any justification of "Caeldori" being an actual name.

Thank you so much!

Speaking of endings, I am gonna reserve this post for them:

I will update more when I have time.

EDIT: Not gonna lie, I got a bit lazy, but by reading the ending, you can tell who it is. Some things are a bit weird, mainly some things in Kana's endings which I could not tell what it meant and some endings seem like they are the same, but this is them all (You can also notice characters not available in Revelation have endings for it though).

[spoiler=A lot of endings]

While no official records remain, tales of a hero spread across generations in songs and folktales. And while the stories varied, they all spoke of the hero's critical decision that led to peace.

After the war, the portal to the Bottomless Canyon was sealed forever—as was Anankos's body. Corrin was crowned King/Queen of Valla, and the three rulers forged a new era of peace.

Upon ascending the throne, Ryoma ushered in a new era of peace and prosperity throughout the world. Generations later, scholars would praise him for surpassing even King Sumeragi's great legacy.

After celebrating Ryoma's coronation, Takumi struck out on his own—volunteering to help rebuild war-torn villages. Over the years, he grew into a wise and patient leader.

While no official records of Saizo the Fifth exist from after the war, later scholars agreed that he most likely stayed in Hoshido, working covertly for the Hoshidan royal family. What else would he do?

Kaden returned home, living out the remainder of his days as if he had never gone to war. Scholars disagree as to whether this is because he was adaptable or just simpleminded.

After the war, Hinata stayed on as Takumi's retainer. However, his quixotic nature would occasionally send him away for long, sudden journeys. Those around him envied his adventurous spirit.

After the war, Hinoka assigned Azama to a remote post on the very fringe of the kingdom. Despite initially clashing with the locals, he gained a cult following—and ultimately founded a new religion.

After Ryoma assumed the crown, he named Subaki chief of the\npegasus knights. As expected, Subaki served with a perfect record, and always kept a close eye on Lady Sakura.

After the war, Hayato traveled the world, performing daring stunts and displaying his incredible\nprowess with magic. Years later, he would return to the Wind Tribe and take over as its chief.

Jakob continued to serve as Corrin's butler. He was often offered other positions based on\nhis extraordinary skills, but the records show he refused them all to stay by Corrin's side.

Silas returned to Nohr to serve in the castle guard. His honest and dedicated nature earned him the title of lead knight. Records show Corrin and Silas remained friends for all their days.

Few records of Kaze exist. Numerous poems of the time say he worked for his homeland and for Corrin from the shadows. His gentle yet mysterious nature made him a legend among ladies.

King Xander helped usher in a new era of peace. While he ruled justly, his radical policies were unpopular with much of the population. Scholars admit this was necessary for the era of growth that followed.

Leo was invaluable during Nohr's era of change. He took the brunt of the people's ill will by helping spread Xander's bold policies. Later generations revered him for his contributions and sacrifices.

Benny returned to his hometown village and was assigned to train new soldiers in combat. He never reported for duty. Instead, he lived out his days in the forest, frolicking with his animal friends.

Keaton returned to his comfortable life on Mount Garou rather than live among humans as a hero. A popular folktale says he'd often go visit his human friends, only to get lost on his way back home.

Arthur was offered many lofty positions, but he turned them all down in favor of guarding Elise. Scholars say the hero led a happy life of helping others. Rumor has it his luck improved in his old age.

Records exist of Odin returning to Nohr, but his activities after the war are shrouded in mystery. Stories of his bravery became tales of legendary heroism, leading some to mimic his odd behavior.

Laslow disappeared shortly after the war, but his unique dance style grew in popularity and paved the way for future generations of dancers. They say his dance has the strange ability to rally spirits...

Niles continued to support Lord Leo throughout his royal career, handling some of the unsavory tasks a royal must assign. As a result, he wasn't popular—except among Leo's staff.

Hinoka became general of the Hoshidan army. While her official portraits depict a gentle princess, she was known to personally go on solo missions to destroy the remaining Faceless.

After Ryoma ascended the throne, Sakura led recovery efforts to heal the bodies and hearts of war-torn Hoshidans. She was known far and wide for her compassion and the\nstrength of her resolve.

Rinkah succeeded her father as\nchief of the Flame Tribe. Her bravery and passion united her\npeople as never before. To this day the Flame Tribe remains proud, strong, and isolated from others.

Orochi continued to work for the royal family, but never pledged her loyalty to any one member, perhaps in memory of Queen Mikoto. Her infectious laugh was often heard echoing from the castle walls.

Kagero continued to serve Ryoma after he was crowned, but there are few records of her activities. Paintings thought to be by her were preserved as national treasures.

After the war, Hana was entrusted with her own division, where she enforced her own training regimen. She remained close friends with Sakura, and trained every day to protect her and Hoshido.

After the war, Setsuna returned to her post and never left Hinoka's side. Scholars agree that while she didn't accomplish any great works, she nonetheless led a happy and fulfilled life.

Oboro continued to serve Takumi through Hoshido's recovery. She also reopened her parents' tailor shop and defined fashion across the kingdom. She also personally made all of Takumi's clothes.

Felicia served as Corrin's maid for the rest of her life. Her time on the battlefield helped her overcome most of her clumsiness, but she still broke a dish every now and then for old times' sake.

There are no official records or stories of Azura from after the war. She was such a mysterious figure that later generations wondered if she truly existed, or if she was merely a spirit in human form.

After her brother ascended the throne, Camilla largely withdrew from royal affairs. She focused instead on humanitarian efforts, eventually adopting as many as 11 children by some accounts.

Following her trials during the war, Elise returned to Nohr a wiser and\nmore refined lady. People across the world grew to adore her for her kindness, and she was applauded as being a perfect princess.

Charlotte returned to the castle guard and took her duty quite seriously. She never married, but she never stopped appearing at royal balls, bewitching the hearts of eligible young men.

Without the need for as much brute strength after the war, Effie reluctantly turned her attention from strength training to teaching. Traveling far and wide, she helped promote fitness throughout Nohr.

After Xander was crowned, Peri was put in charge of Nohr's army. Her cruelty faded as she grew into a strong commander, but she never lost her childlike demeanor, even on the battlefield.

After the war, Beruka opened up more and was even known to smile sometimes. She spent the rest of her life at Camilla's side, rejecting offers for assassination contracts and not discussing her hobbies.

Not much is known of Selena's postwar activity. Depending on who you believe, she became one of the world's best seamstresses, metalsmiths, actors, and/or mercenaries.

Nyx was offered many honors and positions of power, but refused them all to live among the people. While she is not listed in official records, bards tell of an eternally young fortune teller of eerie skill.

Scholars are in disagreement about Rhajat's life after the war. Some argue she lived in seclusion with her curses and spells, but others believe she followed Corrin to the ends of the world.

Generations on, people would call her the dragon god incarnate and tell stories of how the divine Kana would transform into a dragon to save people. But really she was just a girl who loved her father.

If you're lucky, you can just patch your existing game to add them.

I don't think it'll be hard, possibly just add them back to the Accessory Shop.

Not sure where on the forums I would find this; cant find it now; obviously doesn't exist yet. I will just have to wait. If it comes up, I would like to know about it.

So treehouse went too hard on yayequality and screwed up the gay supports. ugh, come on treehouse. The femui and rhajat support is now just some generic stalker talk. They removed the realism and uniqueness of the support.

They also made all the kanna and soleil supports platonic it seems.

Horrible.

I've heard similar things; only Corrin and Forrest(Foleo) have a romantic ending with Soliel. the rest are treated more like companions. and then there's poor Kana... I can't even say I don't like the idea, but the fact that LOCALIZATION made the choice to do that rather than IntSys in the main game is what vexes me about it.

That's very disappointing to hear that the Rhajat support has been cut back. I always found that there was something very heartfelt and passionate about her confession and how heartwarming that f.Kamui was receptive to it. Do you know if it's the same case with Niles and m.Corrin?

I don't know where to compare them, but I've heard they are the same except that they took out the mention of them both being male. I don't know how they are with femui. Treehouse doesn't want even the slightest implication of homosexuality being portrayed as anything other than completely conventional it seems.

Soleil only has a romantic S rank with M!Corrin (And even then only vaguely) and Kana says that they should wait to get into a relationship in most.

Soleil is kind of like companions with anyone she S ranks. In her support with Asugi, she said she would never leave his side no matter how many cute girls come their way because he is her life long friend so...

Even then, very few S supports among the kids unless they marry Corrin are only vaguely romantic.

Kiragi x Soleil ends with them saying "Friends forever."

I dont understand what was the point of making all her supports platonic. I could get behind Kana if I really try (Third gen Kanna has limitless incest potential and it makes anyone they marry very weird like Morgan could.) but Soleil is clearly Bi, or has some sort of attraction to men. Hell, in the Japanese, she falls for the guys like no one's business.

This is pretty low. Like, pretty freaking low IMO. It's the worst. I can't wait to hear the S rank music play while they blush as Soleil friendzones everyone.

Considering how the supports are often shown to be HIGHLIGHTS of the character's relationship (well, the one's that turn out decently at least), I don't really see what's so bad about the current system. I DO think that it would be nice to have a more gradual transition to romantic instead of the jump from A to S, but I don't see that changing any time soon.

I have a theory- and I know this will probably tick off a few people -that the localization of Fates is overall much more faithful than Awakening's. It's that the influx of significantly more weeb-types (and I mean this term in many different ways, good and bad) into the fandom alongside fans jaded from Awakening's are posting and complaining about every single change and are making a much bigger fuss that can now be heard because those who repeatedly complained about the series' direction have largely kept to themselves.

Really, nobody (not even Hisame) has gotten a full-on Henry-fied let's-re-write-them-entirely-for-the-sake-of-it treatment.

The majority of Effie's supports are intact (I love how people are zeroing in on a single change in her Xander support, ignoring Arthur/Effie and Elise/Effie remaining pretty faithful), though I'll give you the unpaired ending and My Room lines; things are still half-and-half.

Hisame generally still keeps his other traits in his supports.

Leo wasn't changed all that much and has been beaten to death in many senses of the word by many different people.

Really, the closest thing we have to the game's Henry is Soleil, and that's due to an unfortunate result of crappy "journalism" stemming from a SJW living off of Patreon and clickbait articles on Destructoid.

TL;DR I think most of the localization drama is unwarranted and people need to let things set for several months before we start writing off all the changes as something 4kids would've done.

I like the idea of Soleil and Kanna's supports being mostly platonic. I know Soleil is bi, but she clearly prefers girls, and Kanna is a little kid who looks half the age of most of the other children. "Sorry, I'd rather be friends and keep scoring cute girls" and "Uh, you're like 10 years old" are perfectly realistic reactions, and make the characters feel more real. In fact, it's nice to see some variety in the top-rank supports.

That's wrong though. If you are talking about the game as a whole, then the removal of skinship, a large portion of the games audio files(people who have compared the data say it's over half), and the swimsuit removals, I think that's more than enough to say that this is not as faithful. If you are talking about the script, that is something different. While I haven't read and compared all four of the scripts to which is more faithful, I will say there are significant changes made from what I know. The gay supports being changed, the platonic relationships character personality changes(I already told you about effie),and some other things. The somewhat more minor changes add up. If you are correct about the script, and there were many more changes to awakening's script that I know of, the reason this came about is because of the aforementioned removal of content and larger install base. The removal of a significant amount of content has put people on edge and given them a bad impression of treehouse, and rightfully so. People don't tend to like changes for the sake of changes in the first place, and they are now looking for them even more because of their distrust in the localization team to maintain the creators original artistic vision. This is nintendo's fault.

Sure, "weebs" are a factor, but I think my reasoning is better.
