Saint Rubenio
Part 14 - Joy. Jeez, I take a few more days than usual to push an update, and you guys start replying like machine guns! What happened? On 22/1/2018 at 5:04 PM, KnightOfNohr said: I did like the original version of that conversation, even if it was incorrect. Roy: All right, everybody, time to head west! Mer: No, wait, Roy. We need an organized plan...how abut we head west? Roy:...I just said that. Good ol' Merlinus. So useless... On 22/1/2018 at 5:40 PM, Dayni said: Man, that crappy beard? Joy. I don't have a beard! But I probably do have 0s in every stat. Which is inconvenient when I have to fight promoted Druids of unspecified level... This game has a hard support point limit. Their high base is the main reason I prefer them. Yeah, it does... I don't really mind it, but it can get annoying. The problem with supporting Lilina and Roy is that Roy eventually becomes too much of a weakling to afford being on the frontlines, which makes any supports on him more or less wasted. Maybe. I need to open up GIMP for all that. GIMP does take a long-ass time to load. NEVER! That was more or less my reaction to most names, yes. Xavier takes the freaking cake. I don't know if I could recruit him legit. It probably takes a more skilled and patient man than me. If you're on about the Robert Downey Holmes, well that's not magical so much as him thinking the whole scenario out in advance in his head. That scene's one of the reasons I actually think that movie's alright. The sequel, now that sucked. Eh, I probably am mistaken, since I haven't watched the movie, but that sounds more like "I'M A PSYCHIC DETECTIVE!" than "I am extremely intelligent". Treck the tank. I'm okay with this. Likewise. I thought we were clear he wasn't her brother. We were, but remember this is supposed to be a cooomedy LP. As it always is. That's what happens when you don't do balance. Well, that's the 1/20 bet taken. Too bad, eh? But it was to be expected. You also had to remind me that she might have the worst dimensions in Heroes. I did, her art sucks ass. Move aside, Gwen, Sheena's the best female General. Even if she sucks in FE12. She still sucks less than you in your game. I'm pretty sure you didn't. Gud. Also, Wendy died, so what happens to the triangle? What in the world happened to remind you of that now? About that, the answer shall become evident soon enough. What's wrong with Route A Gonzales? His bases are too high for his level, I don't like it. I know it's an edit, but still: https://i.imgur.com/IsScO7A.png Bwahahah... I outdid myself with that one, didn't I? My guess is that it's a whip-sword. Peculiar... Once again, some enemies are quite rude. I mean, no respect, finger in the air and all. That's the oldest FE joke since Wrys. That's where my Marcus's speed went when I first played HHM! FE7 Marcus is not our Marcus. Don't you dare mistake R1 and R2 Jeremiah. Please, somebody get the reference. Obligatory. I like Moulder better bite me. I'm pretty sure whatever equivalent there is in wherever you're from will be in your door any minute. It didn't happen. Hah! I win! Next time, we get more isleventures! I've seen her turn out well, and I thought if anyone could make that happen, it'd be Mr. Demigod Matthis Maker, but I suppose nothing can save a unit in need of babying from her own atrocious bases. Hey, now, don't compare the Magnificent Matthis with the worst Knight. On 23/1/2018 at 9:39 PM, Franp3 said: Hey I'm back! Did you miss me? Probably not. I just answered my own question. I did, actually. Treck? I have a lot to catch up to, it seems. Yes, you do. Holy moly, is Treck becoming the Matthis of this run? Maybe. Only time will tell. And hey, even if he dies, it's not like this is a true, professional Ironman run or anything, he'll get another chance in route A. Also, I noticed you are using Ogier. Hats off to you, O brave one. Yey, small victories. I also noticed that his stats are godawful, but still. 30% skill growth. Just thought I'd say that again. Tbh it's surprising that she even lasted this long. If it was me playing she would've died in chapter 8. I feel victorious, from a certain point of view. I EFFING CALLED IT! You called it after it happened. Good work. What the... Calling that thing "blade" is too generous. How about "amorphous piece of bent iron" ? Eh, if it works, I'm fine with it. <--- Maybe that thing? Surprisingly adequate. I don't recognise the guy, though. Do I need context to understand this, or...? Nah, it's just a stupid joke I couldn't resist making. The context is explained in the update itself, so stop skimming and read, you lazy gallows-fodder. On 23/1/2018 at 10:14 PM, eclipse said: AHEM. My sig begs to differ! The, uh, stories, that is. Turns out I'm a bit less weird than I thought. Nah, you've just landed in Weirdpolis, where Matthis is a good unit, Frost and Tomas exist, and Rutger died without killing a single boss. Spoiler This chapter, oh man. Look familiar? Yep, this is chapter 11B, more or less. Remember at the end of the last update I said this is "one of my personal favourites"? Yes... it's possible that my perception of this chapter was warped by time and my lack of experience with Ironmanning. Now, I stand by what I said from a regular player's perspective. This chapter's rewards are easier to get (you don't have to rush like a madman to save all the villages), you get some nice pieces of backstory on a few characters, and Prince Little Shit instead of Irrelevancia. Not only that, but next chapter features a very interesting item that is unobtainable in route A. Bartre/Echidna is really up to personal preference, and the lack of arena isn't that important unless you want to abuse it (shame on you, nah jk I've done my fair share of arena abusing in the past). In ironman, however, things change. This chapter is way harder than the next, which is the filler coastline chapter. In the A route, the filler coastline chapter comes before the hard-as-steel village chapter, which means you get a whole chapter worth of experience for your units before facing the real challenge. In a regular run, this doesn't really matter, since you're just going to reset until you get everything, but in an Ironman run, it results in more casualties, and consequently, in higher amounts of unhealthy rage. Now, I'm sure a true pro would debunk everything in this rant, but I think I'm allowed to complain, after the disaster that this chapter was. Jeez. I'm trying not to spoil much, but this was my worst update since The Day I Quit from the last LP. So suit yourselves. But it's not yet time to watch me fail. For now, Dayni, here's your answer regarding the Ostian triangle: I refuse to give up on having a General, so Legoman shall take up the lance and prevail where Wendy and Bors couldn't. In a way, I'm happy. Bors is the Knight everyone usually uses when they want to bother with the class, and Wendy is infamously bad, but Barf... who the fuck remembers, let alone uses Barf? I shall make history again, like the time I used Tomas, Frost, Matthis, Leiden, Roshea, Athena... Anyhow, here's today's training-- I'm sorry, trading. This one I want to explain in detail. See, I want people to be able to promote at a whim if I need them to. However, giving anybody one of this game's very (and I mean VERY) precious and rare promotional items is a huge risk, since they could die at any time. Thus, I'll keep 'em with Roy where they'll never disappear. I mean, sure, in a true Ironman run, everything would disappear if Roy were to die, but come now, you're here for the show. I don't think you guys would've been too happy if the LP ended back in chapter 3, right? Right...? Anyway, AMDST is a funny word to pronounce for a foreigner like myself. Meet Zinque. His mug is absolutely amazing, which is strange, since he's as irrelevant as it gets. He was edited for Valamar, one of the big baddies in Primefusion's Road to Ruin (which, by the way, y'all should try if you haven't yet, it's quite good). This is also the most generic badmen dialogue to have ever been spoken. You mean the village you're in at the moment, and that Zinque rules over? Maybe the place's just called "Nearby". And the lack of a capital N is a typo. For shame, Gringe, for shame! Relevant. The Soldier leaves to convey Zinque's orders to his troops, and Milady Minerva comes in. I must say, I prefer Orlo from route A's hard-as-steel village chapter. But Zinque's a decent throwaway villain, as well. Apparently Milady came to the Western Isles to find Guinivere. Ruud's rude actions keep on moving the plot forward. Now that was productive. Okay, let's move on. Never mind, they still have things to talk about. Like namedropping the boss I namedropped earlier. It's nice to see that they actually do acknowledge the other route's existance. I'll save you some time: she's-- Right, you're just fictional characters. I've no power over what you do. And thus, nothing of note was achieved that day. Here's Roy! What sort of "sources" are these that've filled you in on everything that's going on in the Western Isles, even though you had no idea about anything when you arrived? Congratulations, Roy! You solved the new mystery! Let's see how long it takes us to directly oppose Etruria's nobility. Cecilia, as usual, is the answer to everything, by virtue of her being the only decent Etrurian. Oh, dear, now ain't that inconvenient! Pfffhahahah. I don't know why, but I find Merlinus' reaction very funny. He doesn't waste any time before questioning whether we should be good, empathetic human beings or not. How long did it take? 1 minute? Nah, that's going too far... I always did like these lines. So, here's Zinque. He's just a slower, unluckier Legance. Nothing to be worried about. In the old translation, he was called Zinc, which is almost as stupid as Frost, but not quite. As usual, the first turn isn't too interesting. We don't even get one full turn before we're bombarded with plot again. Meet Gale, or Galle, or Gail, or whatever his name is this time of the year. If you look real hard, you might find his pupils. That does sound like a sound plan, indeed. Now that's some smoothly delivered exposition. Ah, Murdock. That guy's amazing, he doesn't need Gale. See, we haven't even seen him yet, and he's already proving to be far more competent than Narcian. Well, it's quite obvious. Oh, my! A sympathetic character! I wonder when we'll recruit him and Minerva. And with that, they leave. Finally, we may begin to play this chapter. GH-WHAT!? Gh... kch... uuuurkkk!!! Excellent. One friggin' turn into it and we've already lost somebody. More plot! Mooore! Mooooooore! Words! I love 'em! Apparently, Delphin was caught by the Etrurians and was saved by this completely generic person. Who's named. I cannot think of any reason. Can you? The little shit inmediately realises he's doomed these people to die by Zinque's hand, and exteriorizes his frustrations by being unnecessarily vague, wasting time that could've been used to escape. Good work, Mierdin. Sorry, dude, you lost her at "resistance force". Finally, damnit. It's a good thing time freezes while the plot is being unraveled. Now, what does this remind us of? Ah, I see. She even wears clothes the same colour as her brother's so you can go "aw, so that's Wade's sister!". Hey, if she's a priest, I want her to join us! Imagine, a support triangle with the axe siblings and Mary... such wasted potential. Excellent. May we keep going now? The A team goes gung-ho on the wall. They'll be heading up through there. Some Ogier avenging later, the turn is over. This Shaman goes after Marcus, but he's a great Jeigan, so he intentionally misses him once. He is then killed by Treck. The other asshat... takes a little longer. The A team has finally gotten through the wall, and charge forward, entering a house. It morphs into three houses and a bunch of trees, as this blind lady does not recognize the "friend" speaking to her. He says nothing and lets her hand over some loot. Honestly, I'd have liked it better if these two got special dialogue for the whole village, as well as a certain other thing, but Mary and Mieu are good enough. That's it. Now, can we go one turn without losing anybody? C'mon, Treck too?!?! Go ahead, Elen, get a perfect level up and save yourself. Nope, not good enough. Treck rides east to face this Mercenary. Wish him luck! Barth finally does something right. But at least he's not Wendy. There we go. Marcus takes Elen and brings her with him. She'll be taking care of the A team as they advance. The rest keep on doing their own things. More plot. I mean, it's technically harder to find one person than to find a hundred people. The difficult thing would be to defeat a hundred people. Yes, we would, if Etruria is an asshole, as you've more than proven. Aw, le shock! They betrayed us! See, the difference between Zinque and Orlo is that Orlo actually figures Arcado's intentions out and realizes we don't really have ties with bandits, but keeps up the attack because he's an asshole. Or maybe it was Nord. I can't remember. Guess we'll find out when we get there. Yes, please, pay it no mind, the guy's not making any sense at all. What in the world prompted you to say that "Isles are ruled by might" line? Oh, dear. Not yet! I'm not ready! That's a cute curse. I must find a way to use it. Wait a minute, why are you cursing? He's angry at the prospect of getting help... because he won't get patted in the back for defeating us. Amazing. You're such an idiot. Orlo's a far better throwaway boss. But at least your portrait is unique to you. Well, guess he'll arrive in a turn or-- What? Was this scarecrow he chilling at the castle the whole time? ...how is this going to help you find Delphin? Once more, Orlo's reason behind wanting Brigands to enter the fray actually made sense, but here... it just seems like Zinque's so desperate to finish the fight quickly, he'll do anything to get there, even if it makes no sense. We'll be seeing more of this Scollan later. For now... It's time for some competence. As well as some incompetence. Yes, I forgot to give her an angelic robe again. One of these days. One of these days, I'll remember to do it... That'll be a level up for Dorothy. Amazing! She took her time, but she's finally turning around! She's already better than Sue. A few more levels like this, and she'll surpass Igrene as well! Barth gets a kill. Do you feel the pride? Roy gets this, too. Eh. The defense is fine, I suppose. Treck's duel with the Mercenary is over. He is victorious. Was there ever any doubt? Lot destroys things as well, as he has been doing the whole game. And that's that. Hopefully, everyone will survive this turn. I mean, the only one in range of an enemy was Treck and he could take him, easily, but... this is me we're talking about. Look, A support! This is, in my opinion, the weakest part of this support. It's a little too predictable, I feel. But it's still good, they could've handled it far worse. Yeah, this is the best excuse he could come up with. Oh, my! Now that's bold. What do you have to say to that, Dorothy? Understandable. Jeez, that's disgusting as hell! Even when Frollo pulled religion and pyromancy into boner affairs, he only wanted one girl! One! Saul right here is worse than Frollo! Also, he's an idiot as well as a snake. Still, I'd rather have that than a stupid, out of nowhere romantic ending. It just cements Saul as an absolutely despicable, irredeemable scoundrel. Also, Dorothy's finally had it with his crap. I'll give him one thing, though, at this point, Dorothy is probably ready to shoot him through the eye, yet he only reacts by sighing and provoking her. That takes some balls. What do you think of the edit? I'm personally quite proud of it. I'm not sure that was so supportive. Kaga would've made Saul die here. Unless you promoted him and equipped him with a tome, in that case, both of them would've been gravely injured, and would've died. But they're both alive, and have less of a chance of dying now, so let's celebrate by watching Treck wreck this Archer. This is the Shaman's range. Let's stay out of it for now. The turn is almost over. All that's left is for Lot to visit one of his neighbors, who fails to recognize him. Neat. That'll be good for... I don't know... I'll have to think this one over. Okay, we're good. Marcus is almost at the villages: if the Bandits are to spawn now, we'll be ready. Hmph... Here's Gonzales, a very offensive character. Or he would be, if I were an easily triggered SWJ. They could've called him Vladimir, or Bob, or François, or Luigi, and it would've been the same exact thing. Pretty good summary. Good effort, Scotland. Oof, too many words for Spanishman. Better go watch some bull fighting while eating paella. That'll ayudar, don't you piensais the same, friendmigos? I just gave myself Cancer. If I were playing FE12 at the moment with a MU named after me, I'd make the obvious joke, but I am not, so... too bad. Nah, I think he's just got a chronic headache. Words of wisdom. You all would do well to listen good. And with that, Scollan and his army of ratfaces and insults to Spain move forward. We fight. Quite well, I might add. Here's Gonzo. His bases are balanced well enough for a level 11 unit (cough cough). His growths are hilariously lopsided, favouring hitting like a truck over the ability to reliably land hits, or take one in return. He's okay, but that skill really kills him. Axes are far too much like Tommy guns for a 15% skill growth to be excusable. Gonzo is also notorious for being considerably worse in this route, since his level is much higher and his axe rank, lower, with his stats being the same. I may have an idea, though. Scollan is the exact same as his subordinates, but I want you to check out his level. Yep, He and his band are all level 11. I don't know why they would make Gonzales match his pals out of nowhere (since he certainly isn't a level 1 promoted Druid when Nord is his boss), but I think that's what they did. Theory time's over, it's time for fighting. Er, that's it. But don't worry, we'll be getting some more action really soon. The band of Bandits shall soon be upon us, but the villages are safe. Treck gets a level. Meh, it's rather subpar, compared to what you've been getting thus far, but you're still good. Barth does some good ol' Ostian Failing™. Dorothy chips the Shaman down, so that Barth has an easier time beating him. And so, Barth gets his first level up! Don't let me down, Barth, I'm counting on you! ...he only got HP. And to add insult to injury, he's got a 100% chance to get HP. So, basically, he got an empty level. Look, a distraction! Lot and Wade are still great! I look forward to promoting Wade. If only Bartre could support with them, we'd get a badass Warrior support triangle... ...hold on a minute... there is another axe user that supports both Wade and Lot! ...Echidna. I always was more fond of this route than the other, unlike most people, but this LP seems to be trying it's damnest to make me want to make route A the canon route. And it might just succeed... Anyway-- blistering barnacles, Jeigan! You failed! Doggone it. But she'll live. Treck's still down there, since he's still fighting a Mercenary, and we can't have survivors. His horse will allow him to catch up easily. Fuck, Klein! No, it's not! We're not here! Go away! Search us at Orlo's! "Klein! You must go kill the Lycians! They're allied with the bandits now!" "But Lord Arcardo, do you have proof backing your accusations?" "Are you questioning me?!" "Yes, Lord Arcardo, as a matter of fact, I am." "...Roartz, go get the king." "Okay, okay, I'm going..." He could've showed some brains and actually tried to hold back, but noooooo gotta inconvenience the player as much as possible. At least Treck has a horse. Imagine what would've happened if I left Legoman there... *shudders* Look, it's hint time! Use Shanna to recruit T-- oh, wait, that hint is actually a trap! You can't recruit Tate with her sister. If Klein's still an enemy, she'll remain red, which is bad, and if Klein's recruited, Tate will just turn green, which is even worse, since she'll just rush ahead and get herself killed. That's... one way to put it. Shit... Please, don't. You wouldn't be happy to find out the truth... And with that little bit of character development, Tate moves south to exit the screen for the moment. That won't be the last we'll see of her, though. Lord Arcardo says stuff like that, yet you buy into his bullshit? I don't believe you, Klein... Keep in mind, we have to keep this guy alive if we want an orion bolt. If this was route A, you'd attack before them all right. Here... Klein's words silence the Soldier, who moves back to keep on having no eyes. And so, the cutscene ends with Klein punching a hole into Arcardo's sturdy as wet toilet paper story. Back to watching Treck wreck havoc it is! Now that's something I can't get tired of. Here's the plan for Gonzales: since he doesn't have ranged weapons, I'll just put Lot in the little chokepoint between both of the northern houses with a bow. He should buy enough time for Lilina to get there. ...unless the asshole runs with his boss towards the eastern part of the map! No! Stop it right there! Get back here! Two more turns and she should make it... the question is, will Tate ruin everything? Bah, we'll worry about that when the time comes. For now, let's talk about Kleain. He's the first prepromoted Sniper, and a strange case in that he's, even with the hard mode bonuses, worse than the second prepromoted Sniper, who doesn't get any bonuses, yet surpasses him in almost every stat. Still, Klein's okay. He's got the first obtainable silver bow, a very valuable white gem, and if you can keep his Archers alive, he adds an orion bolt to his pile of loot. In other words, Klain's a rich kid and that's why it's good to get him. Oh, look, more dialogue! It's utterly inconsequential! Gonzales attacks Marcus. We deviated from the plan, but so long as nobody dies... Marcus didn't proc his 1% chance to hit critically. If he did, I think you guys would've heard the rage from your homes, regardless of where they are. Klein and company move forward, while Zinque's troops... uh... I'm not too sure what they're doing, exactly. These two also spawned last turn, and they have handaxes. Such a pity. Their experience shall be lost, as they will surely attack Lot. It is at around this point when I remembered I was supposed to recruit Klein with Roy. And Roy's here. Amazing, ain't it? But it's not too important. Whether it's by my command or the AI's, he's going to go where we want him to, which is here. Treck rides ahead. Soon enough, we're going to be needing all hands on deck. Sigh this is the next major pain in the ass of this chapter compared to the route A version. In route A, Tate pops up at the starting point, which by that point, is bound to be far away from the army. Here, she spawns right on top of anyone interested in saving the villages instead. It's literally impossible to have Klein there in time to recruit her. Isn't this game just fun? Oh, believe me, you won't. I usually try to protect the Archers, but these idiots? Not only are they suicidal to a fault, but their reward is also mediocre. The game gives enough free elysian whips to bother with this sidequest. But they've already sent you to the back! Or, well, what would've been the back if this chapter wasn't such a bundle of joy. I mean, she's right. You just lucked out because Klein's a decent human being. Not as decent as Cecilia, though, because he lacks a brain to go with the great looks. Hint hint. If it wasn't obvious enough. And so, they ride forth to be extremely annoying. Cavaliers spawn as well. They're not very dangerous... yet. Lot does some fighting, and that's the extent of this turn's action. The next one, though, is looking to get very messy. Tate's hard mode bonuses aren't too beastly. She's got fine bases for her level and good growths, but her con, as expected from a peggie, is horrendous. She's a fair unit, and your best bet at triggering the arbitrary event flag that leads to the Ilian route later on. I like her. Her squad sucks cocks in hell, though. They can still destroy our scrubs (namely Lilina), so they'd better watch out. The A team fares about as well as you'd expect them to. As in, excellently. The others... ...good enough, all things considered. These bumbling bimbos are dead, by the way. They may not look dead, but trust me... They're-- ... ... ... ...blistering barnacles. Klein's here, by the way, and Roy's nowhere near him. But Tate makes mincemeat out of our boi... the future looks grim. At least that's one peggie down... thanks, Lot, for being one of the only good units I have. Let's get Spain out of the way. Lot needs to go to places, and I don't want that devil axe pointed towards Roy's forehead. Now that's how you start a conversation with the enemy. I... cannot see the sorrow, sorry. Then again, you were supposed to cry over Hector's death, and Roy's many deaths, yet you still had that normal "aieeeee!" look to you. Ah, technical limitations, what would videogame narrative be without you? Oh, gee, I wonder what you're talking about. Maybe the village we're currently standing inside of?! I makes more sense in the A route. At times, it really feels like this route was just a last-minute addition. If so, I'm glad they did it, because it brought Bartre into existance, so FE7 could completely butcher his character by turning him from a wise, if hotheaded Warrior, into a retarded, braindead imbecile. FE7 is the best game in the series according to the general consensus. Yeah, and if you kill them, they won't give me a swordreaver for you! Think about it, Gon! You'll profit from not doing what Scollan tells you to! What is he going to give you for your services, exactly? I mean, he's a generic bandit. We're the protagonists. Nonsense. Here's a riddle to guess if you can: what makes a monster and what makes a man? ...well, having a face and the ability to move away from your throne/gate certainly increases your chances of being a man. Then again, this is probably not the best example of this, since Scollan also ticks both boxes. That's-- Yeah, exactly! I can't think of much to poke fun at this exchange, because I personally like it very much. Bwahahahah... so she says, trying to forget the fact that all but one of her soldiers are dead. Woohoo... now let's hope he doesn't die too quickly. Commence the extinction of the pegasi! Ah, a Wade level up! It's been ages since the last one. It's not that good, but eehhhh... That's one problem taken care of, but... I'm afraid we're in a tight spot. Sue will be destroyed if the peggies get to her. Only Marcus and Roy can protect her. Marcus is better suited for the task, I feel... Roy can take on a few idiotic Brigands. He just needs to land this hit, and we'll be fine... Perfect! Still, I'm not sure how we're going to save this situation... we're in deep shit. Roy! You nitwit! Orangoutang! Twister! Pickled herring! Swine-- HE GOT DOUBLED! HOOOOOOOOOOOOW?! A thousand curses be lain upon this Brigand! Damn it all! Damn it all to hell! Argh... ... ...I... need to look at something pleasant. Ah, yes... that's better. Bwahahah... I'm too proud of this piece of crap. It's art! I shall be contemplating it until the next update. See you! Eh, it's not like that in the movie, bit of a stylistic choice to have it pretty much play the footage of the fight with his thoughts, rewind and do the fight with the same moves. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: FE7 Marcus is not our Marcus. Don't you dare mistake R1 and R2 Jeremiah. Please, somebody get the reference. Well, this Marcus is faster than the Marcus I'm on about. With a lower level and growths too. I couldn't bring that Marcus to endgame as a result. That bad. Also sorry, but no I don't. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: I like Moulder better bite me. I should have just said it was only a second from that video I needed. Need to deal with that the next time I link something. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: It didn't happen. Hah! I win! Just wait until I can use that one image of Garon. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Prince Little Shit instead of Irrelevancia. I had a giggle with this. But Lalum isn't just Irrelevancia. She's also this game's Corple/Sharlow. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: But it's not yet time to watch me fail. For now, Dayni, here's your answer regarding the Ostian triangle: I refuse to give up on having a General, so Legoman shall take up the lance and prevail where Wendy and Bors couldn't. *Sigh Every time. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Relevant. Of course it was this clip, I even guessed it might be. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Like namedropping the boss I namedropped earlier. It's nice to see that they actually do acknowledge the other route's existance. Yeah, that's actually something I didn't see coming. Don't think it happens on the A route either. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Oh, my! A sympathetic character! I wonder when we'll recruit him and Minerva. Yes, yes, she does look like Minerva. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: GH-WHAT!? Skilled with luck and lucky with nothing else my hole, he took 2 hits with less than 15%. Luck and skill really don't mean squat. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: The little shit inmediately realises he's doomed these people to die by Zinque's hand, and exteriorizes his frustrations by being unnecessarily vague, wasting time that could've been used to escape. Good work, Mierdin. Dammit, little shit. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Ah, I see. She even wears clothes the same colour as her brother's so you can go "aw, so that's Wade's sister!". Pfft, that seems fitting. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Yes, please, pay it no mind, the guy's not making any sense at all. What in the world prompted you to say that "Isles are ruled by might" line? The fact that everyone uses axes, the weapon earned by might as I established with Durban (who I called Kaim, good catch), the idea that a hard life makes the people hard and willing to beat each other up over little things (HOW many bandits are there in this arc alone?) 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Oh, my! Now that's bold. What do you have to say to that, Dorothy? Of course, the reaction of utter bafflement at the stupidest thing said in the last half hour. Saul really must think he has a way with women huh? 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Jeez, that's disgusting as hell! Even when Frollo pulled religion and pyromancy into boner affairs, he only wanted one girl! One! Saul right here is worse than Frollo! Saul is also clearly unable to get what he wants. Though that might be because he gets pulled out of it. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Also, he's an idiot as well as a snake. Or revealing just how ballsy he is. Taking that kind of risk, you either know you're safe or don't know and just think you are. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: What do you think of the edit? I'm personally quite proud of it. I think it's fitting, though I don't unlock this support much. (Obligatory actually got Clarine/Dorothy to A first here) 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Scollan is the exact same as his subordinates, but I want you to check out his level. Yep, He and his band are all level 11. I don't know why they would make Gonzales match his pals out of nowhere (since he certainly isn't a level 1 promoted Druid when Nord is his boss), but I think that's what they did. You know, that might be the case after all. Maybe they coded this version first, then stuck him in the A route with those bases. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Look, a distraction! I mean, you can make all those dank Ugandan Knuckles jokes with her, though they'll likely be stale by the time you get her. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Shit... See, this is why you don't let your troubadours die horribly! 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: Nonsense. Here's a riddle to guess if you can: what makes a monster and what makes a man? ...well, having a face and the ability to move away from your throne/gate certainly increases your chances of being a man. Then again, this is probably not the best example of this, since Scollan also ticks both boxes. Sing the bells, bells, bells, bells True, Scollan's not alone in that. Gonzales doesn't even fit the don't be unattractive clause either. 3 hours ago, Rubenio said: HE GOT DOUBLED! HOOOOOOOOOOOOW?! That light brand is too heavy for Boi. DestructionDragon360
And thus, Ogier's luck runs out. Seems the only thing he had a skill for was dying. And y'know, I honestly expected much worse from this when I first started reading the update. I figured Lilina and, I dunno, a squishy like Sue or Elen would have also bit it. Of course, that might just be waiting for us on the horizon in the next attempt at this awful chapter. I'm sorry man, I know you like Bartre, but I don't think I can forgive this chapter's hellish design enough to choose B over A, despite this path giving us an actually relevant bard instead of Tangentially Significant dancer, and the Dad Master Axe. Asmont Osborne
Saint Rubenio? Man, and I thought to be the megalomaniac here (but I totally feel you). Frost is indeed the best Archanean character.
Shadow Mir
On 1/26/2018 at 5:32 PM, Saint Rubenio said: Here's Gonzo. Honestly, I'd say that the Casey Bat (from EarthBound) would be a more suitable comparison. Said weapon is powerful, but also rather inaccurate (which is implied in the name).
Saint Rubenio
Oh, dear... that's not good... F-father Wrys! What are we to do? Lord Roy... he's... ...not yet. Please, leave me alone for a moment. I need some space... What?! Do as I say! Well, then... ...now, let's see... ...ah, perfect! I see I haven't lost my touch just yet. And now... TCHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII~ ...father Wrys...? Where did-- TCHEEEEEEEEEEEE~ Sorry? What?! Where did you come from-- ...wait, that's... Lord Roy! Sound the retreat. I didn't have the time to do it. I'll take care of Lord Roy. But, how... Does that matter now? Everyone else is still out there! Ah! Of course! At once, Father! ...dear me, maybe I should've chosen a more inconspicuous appearance... What would you have thought of this, Arran? Ah... I pray you're well. You, and the rest of Archanea. One day... Part 15 - Intense guys. I've recently started a new FE12 ironman run. Just for fun, I won't be bothering you with that one. I just wanted to share with you the fact that, since I picked the maniac difficulty... ...I lost everyone except Caeda and Cain. Ain't that great? And as of chapter 6, I have 18 units. Eighteen! But at least this time, I didn't get the world's shittiest MU. It's only the world's shittiest Pegasus Knight. She should be better as a Cavalier, though. Except she's worse than Rody and Matthis, but that's an unfair comparison. Matthis, after all, attained godhood. Anyway, that's all. Back to the topic at hand. On 27/1/2018 at 4:00 AM, Dayni said: So, Humphrey can teleport. This can only lead to good things. It already has! Eh, it's not like that in the movie, bit of a stylistic choice to have it pretty much play the footage of the fight with his thoughts, rewind and do the fight with the same moves. Hm... fair enough. I'll take it. Well, this Marcus is faster than the Marcus I'm on about. With a lower level and growths too. I couldn't bring that Marcus to endgame as a result. That bad. Bwahahah... it was only fitting that I'd only get lucky with Jeigan! Also sorry, but no I don't. Oh, well, win some, lose some. The reference was about the fact that he goes from being orange (nickname of the character I'm refering to, it makes sense in context) to being purple (he wears purple in the second season of the anime I'm referencing. Name's Code Geass, by the way). I should have just said it was only a second from that video I needed. Need to deal with that the next time I link something. Actually, I got it, I just thought I'd completely disregard the context and joke and start fanboying over Stacheman. And hating Lute. I'm not too fond of Lute. Or it's the long con. I did say any minute. Well... still nothin'. Just wait until I can use that one image of Garon. Why, you... I thought I'd made it clear that I know next to nothing about fates, aside from the fact that it's awful! ...unless you refer to the groans of increasing discomfort. That, I know of. I had a giggle with this. But Lalum isn't just Irrelevancia. She's also this game's Corple/Sharlow. Are you kidding me?! Corple was a decent human being, and recruits the second Lorenz. Lalum is crap, and the only good thing about her is Echidna. *Sigh Every time. Let's see how many chapters this Knight lasts. Not too many, I bet, but at least he'll get another chance if he dies today or tomorrow. Of course it was this clip, I even guessed it might be. It was quite obvious. Yeah, that's actually something I didn't see coming. Don't think it happens on the A route either. I don't remember anything of the sort, either. Yes, yes, she does look like Minerva. Hahahah... ahhh... Skilled with luck and lucky with nothing else my hole, he took 2 hits with less than 15%. Luck and skill really don't mean squat. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, DestructionDragon just meant he was lucky at getting skill, and absolutely nothing else. Hence, it makes sense he'd get hit twice. Not that it makes me any happier about it, mind. But it makes sense. Dammit, little shit. He's such a little shit. Pfft, that seems fitting. This is the Middle Ages of Anime we're talking about. Brothers have to look alike, always. The fact that everyone uses axes, the weapon earned by might as I established with Durban (who I called Kaim, good catch), the idea that a hard life makes the people hard and willing to beat each other up over little things (HOW many bandits are there in this arc alone?) Yes, that makes perfect sense. What I questioned is why the hell that line exists in the context of that conversation. He was discussing Roy being accused of being allied with bandits by Arcardo, and out of nowhere, says that line. Why? Of course, the reaction of utter bafflement at the stupidest thing said in the last half hour. Saul really must think he has a way with women huh? This is Saul we're talking about, pretty much the worst person in the entire FE6 cast. Saul is also clearly unable to get what he wants. Though that might be because he gets pulled out of it. If he actually got what he wanted, he'd be a villain. It's a good thing he's so incompetent, Yodel doesn't consider him dangerous enough to kick him out. Or revealing just how ballsy he is. Taking that kind of risk, you either know you're safe or don't know and just think you are. Saul's a cretin, he probably didn't even think Dorothy would consider shooting him for that one. I think it's fitting, though I don't unlock this support much. (Obligatory actually got Clarine/Dorothy to A first here) I mean, it's understandable. Light magic is at its worst in FE6. You know, that might be the case after all. Maybe they coded this version first, then stuck him in the A route with those bases. Perhaps that is the case. Kind of weird, since Zinque's words about Orlo suggest they conceived that route first (hence why this one isn't referenced, it didn't exist yet), but it may be. I mean, you can make all those dank Ugandan Knuckles jokes with her, though they'll likely be stale by the time you get her. Eh, I'm very picky when it comes to memes. UK is not one of my favourites, I'm afraid. See, this is why you don't let your troubadours die horribly! I regret nothing. It could've been Dorothy, or worst priest! Can't have that, can we now? Sing the bells, bells, bells, bells BEEEELLS OF NOOOTREEEEEEEEEEEEEDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME!!! True, Scollan's not alone in that. Gonzales doesn't even fit the don't be unattractive clause either. Well, he does, in a way: he's so incredibly monstrous, it becomes quite obvious what they try to pull with him. Most bosses are ugly, but not deformed, unless the story demands it. That light brand is too heavy for Boi. For being a swordomancer, he really can't lift. Annoying... how dare he be weak?! Gyroscope! Bloodsucker! Misguided missile! Bougainvillea! Again, boi has set everything back. Yup... back to it, again. But at least the LP isn't over, because this is a poorsman's ironman. Hey, don't forget-- Of course, that might just be waiting for us on the horizon in the next attempt at this awful chapter. Yeah... I was about to say that. Keep in mind, I've already played this at the time of writing. Read the update, and then try to imagine how I feel about reading these words. I'm sorry man, I know you like Bartre, but I don't think I can forgive this chapter's hellish design enough to choose B over A, despite this path giving us an actually relevant bard instead of Tangentially Significant dancer, and the Dad Master Axe. To be honest, I never really was that fond of this chapter either. 11A is not just better positioned, it's better designed as well, if I recall correctly (although it does have its flaws, we'll get to that). What I like about this route over A is the better rewards and characters, as well as the bits of story on Wade and Lot. In a regular run, I could just reset my way through this piece of crap. Here... On 28/1/2018 at 7:43 PM, Goddess Serra said: Saint Rubenio? Man, and I thought to be the megalomaniac here (but I totally feel you). Actually, the name has some story behind it. Long ago, when the saintly attire was added for the Medic in TF2, since I main Medic, me and a friend started to joke on how I was now a Saint. I changed my name to "Saint Rubenio", and I liked it so much, I decided to take it as my main nickname for most places, except the odd site where I don't use it for whatever reason (like this one, until I finally decided to change it). I just like the way it sounds. Although I must say, it's really annoying when I play TF2 and everyone calls me "saint". Saint's secondary, I'm Rubenio, for blistering barnacles' sake! Frost is indeed the best Archanean character. He's just great. We need a member badge of him. 1 hour ago, Levant Mir Celestia said: Honestly, I'd say that the Casey Bat (from EarthBound) would be a more suitable comparison. Said weapon is powerful, but also rather inaccurate (which is implied in the name). True, but I haven't played EarthBound that much (I know basically what you need to know going into Mother 3, which I have played a few times), and have recently beaten Mafia: City of the Lost Heaven, so inaccurate, yet still somehow OP Tommy guns were what was in my mind when I wrote those lines. Now, as for why I haven't played Earthbound yet beat Mother 3... I got bored. Yeah. That's the whole reason. The first boss was unbeatable, I had to grind, and Earthbound's combat system bored me. I suppose I should apologize... Spoiler Here we go again. Let's see how badly it goes this time. Ignore Ogier's presence, he's dead. He may not look dead, but he is. At least, I don't think I used him at all in this second attempt. Or ever will, if this rout ends up becoming canon, by some miracle. Look, Barth hit something! Truly unbelievable. ...look, Barth didn't hit something when I really wanted him to. Eh, still proud of him. Treck, as usual, does well. Roy... Even better than last time! I like it. Except he missed defense and HP, and his offense is far too bad for this to be good on the long run. But still, so many numbers! Saul heals Barth up, while her liege is rescued away from handaxe throwing range by Sue and a corpse. The wall takes its customary beating. The bulk of the enemy go after Treck, for whatever reason. The fools... Barf! Stop this tomfoolery at once! I need you to be good! I mean, I don't, I could always just use Douglas, but Douglas can't support Lilina! Speaking of whom, she kills the guy Barth couldn't do so much as grace. Why do I only have 4 competent units? Damn my luck... No, I haven't made a mistake. Elen's not going to die to one Shaman. Roy almost did, though. Urk... Yes! Yes! Barth killed something! Point for him! Disregard the superior lance man being better in every way. Let Barth enjoy his time in the spotlight. Lot gets the barrier staff again. Dorothy fails again... Ah, something interesting. Why did I do this? Also, I didn't forget to give her the angelic robe this time around. I can't, remember? That's another one of the unspoken rules, resetting is not an excuse to change anything in the prepscreen. Healing, trading, and supporting. All the boring things in one, neat row of caps. Saul's in range of the Fighter in front of Marcus. But he laughts in the face of danger. Dorothy and danger both begin with a "D". Coincidence? Jeez, perhaps I shouldn't have done that... nah, it's fine. 17% is what, >10% accounting for true hit? Then again, Ogier died in similar conditions... ... ...but Ogier was a decent guy. Saul's Saul. There truly is no justice in the world. Whoa, Barth got a kill! Rejoice, everyone! It's a rare occurrence! Dorothy's had it with missing. Unleash the critbomb! Sue, too, does something, except she doesn't do as well as Dorothy. Treck, javelin in hand, stands in the forest. His efforts are wasted by me being an incompetent imbecile who puts Marcus there as well. I surprise myself sometimes. The next turn, I promptly make him take the iron lance, giving up in damaging the Archer at all so he can do marginally more damage to that Mercenary. And to add insult to injury, this time I remember to make everyone else hug the opposite wall. Dang... Elen got a bad level. Why am I not surprised... Oh... Well, never mind that rant earlier. Turns out, I'm more competent than I could've possibly imagine. These two's adventures are the most boring to talk about, since it always goes like this: Lot and Wade get attacked, Lot and Wade destroy everything. The end. Good... ...bad! Fuckity fuck, bollocks, Lot's still halfway through the map! Blistering barnacleeeeeeees, run! Er, after the enemy phase. Jeez, Sue. You're so fragile. Okay, the axe siblings'll make it. Marcus, too, will ride forward. My, my, now that was a lucky hit! Nicely done, Brth. Now please get a perfect level up. Well... he got skill, I guess... that'll make it easier to train him further? The pilgrims of Elimine do their things. That'll be a level for Dorothy. Although, knowing my luck, she's going to g-- ...amazing. Attagirl, Dorothy. Good. Now all we have to do is get Lilina to Gonz ASAP, and brace for impact. Perfect. Klein's here. We're ahead of schedule this time, which is good. Bwahahah! Scollan, you buffoon, you shall live, but only to regret that! Shineeeeee! ...what? Can't I unleash my inner weaboo for the occasion of a Loli destroying generic bad dude in the Middle Ages of Anime? The timing couldn't be any more perfect! Jeez, now that's a good level up. Marcus attempts to kill this guy, but fails horribly. Dorothy fares better, but not as well as I would've liked. I think it's obvious how I would've liked this fight to end like. Backup healer backup heals since Saul moved before Dorothy in order to increase her chances of hitting critically. And that's it. Gonzo has some fun with Lot. His buddies settle for attacking Wade. They don't fare much better. Here's Kleiny! Look, a healer. A healer who's, by the way, unreachable at the present time, since he's near Zinque, who we can't really approach right now. Guess we'll just have to endure his annoyance for now... Look, it's Zalwade! I'm glad to see him again. I'm also glad to see this. Good work, Wade. I'm glad to see you aren't about to let Lot leave you in the dust just yet. Elen heals Dorothy up. I'm pretty sure she appreciates the change. I can just imagine... "I have just saved your life, Dorothy! Am I not a good priest? How can you still doubt me after I selflessly went through so much trouble to save you?" "...I cut my finger slightly when picking an arrow..." "Ah, details... OH MY GOD IS THAT THE BEAUTIFUL SUE?! I MUST BE OFF, DOROTHY! FATE HAS GIVEN ME THE MISSION TO SHOW HER THE WAYS OF ELIMINE!" "Stop it! She's going to fill you with arr-- ... ...sure. You go get her, big man..." "NOW you're talking my language, Dorothy!" Here's Klein's range. Why is Clarine supposed to make this easier, again? It's already too easy! Sue ends the Archer, Marcus takes care of the Fighter, and we're done. Here's Tate... it's inevitable, but a part of me wishes I knew hacking so I could delay her appearance by 10 turns. Then again, if I did that, I would probably just get overconfident and take 10 more turns to get here, and the result would be the same. At least the peggies went up against somebody way out of their league. Join my team already! Yes, please explain what we, the players, already know since we eavesdropped on your conversation with Tate. Relevant. ANDROSS HAS ORDERED US TO TAKE YOU DOWN Hahahahah... I have defeated all of you! BWAHAHAH! UWWAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAWWWWHAAAWWW! Damn, that felt good. Now, don't you dare tell me you didn't fall for it! I've been spamming those "relevant." links all LP for a reason! ...actually, no, I've only just had this marvelous idea that surely, nobody else ever has had. But that's nothing knew, the only thing I've ever planned ahead when it comes to LPing is the plot. Actually, Roy, hate to rain on your parade, but he hasn't seen anything yet. He's only just arrived. Besides, your army has already destroyed the opposition, so all that remains is you and your blood-coated army. In a real scenario, you'd be dead. But alas... Klein's not as stupid as he looks. Hey, what're you giving me that look for? He's blond! Of course he looks stupid!! ...what? Still mad about the rickroll? Hahah... uh... ...shit, what if one of the mods turns out to be blond/e?! DON'T BAN MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... Jeez, the snark is running high today, ain't it, Roy? Oh my God, are we actually... talking about it? Are you not going to pull off the usual "my reasons are my own, I cannot tell you for whatever reason, let's pointlessly fight now"? I'm not even kidding, far too often in fiction we see conflicts that could be solved if both parties just sat down and discussed the matter. And here, we find one that's actually being solved that way! Well said. Klein agrees! Everything is coming up Milhouse. Thin's right. I haven't seen your conversation, yet even I just know that he probably didn't hide his bullshit very well. Oh, my, Reglay? Pent's son! Which means I haven't just killed Klein's sister, but the daughter of two of the best things to come out of FE7. Auuugh... Oh, believe me, he will... in the other route. He doesn't here. Considering you disappear from the plot after being recruited like the rest... yeah, a fighter. Woo. And with that, he proceeds to haul ass north, to stop Tate from being stupid. I mean, come now, she's on a flying horse up in the sky! Can't she see that her commander and his troops are no longer red? Anyhow, healing, fighting... Now, take a gander at this: our first physic heal! Meh, really bad physic shot, but it could've been worse. It could've had nobody on the screen. At least I managed to catch Saul at the very edge of the screen. Okay, that's it... if Tate goes after Klein or Barth, the map'll more or less be over. If she doesn't, it'll take a little longer. Brigands attack the axe siblings, who prove their superiority. These guys, annoyingly, go after Marcus instead of their leader. The one time I want their AI to go completely against their character motivations... Also, one guy reaches the Archers, but they should be fine. They'll retreat, and then Treck will cover their backs. Except guess what! They don't move, because they cannot get to their escape point, which is next to Zinque, behind the breakable wall. And the worst part about it is that I'm realising this just now, as I write this. While I was playing, I couldn't fathom why they were just standing around like idiots. I'm honestly kind of baffled at how badly this map is designed in every aspect, compared to 11A. Maybe I'm just misremembering route A as well? Could be, could be... Ride forth, brave Treck! At least try to save these guys from themselves. And now, time to die, Kns! Before long, only Tate remains. Don't worry, I checked: Lilina doesn't get doubled by Tate. Nice! She did even better than I exp-- WAIT, WHAT?! HOW?! I CHECKED, SHE-- Of course, she can't double with the javelin, but she can lift the slim lance just fine. Jeez. Once again, I almost lose Lilina because I keep forgetting to give her some more HP. Damn my obliviousness! At least everyone else is doing fine... even the Archer's still alive. Look he moved! Except the others don't, and Barth can't reach the frontlines, so... Have some healing, you poor fool... although, I'm not sure if it'll save you. And you? You've earned your heals. You saved yourself from my incompetence. That's quite admirable. As for you, get on my team already! And just be glad I need you alive to go to Ilia! That was painless enough. They may be huge nuisances, but they're not stupid, like some others. Jeez, imagine if Klein pulled the "MUH LOYALTY" crap every other blond in the series does... Here we have FE6 poking fun at itself. It's interesting, to say the least. Yes, Zelot and Noah proved that the day they refused to follow my orders and got themselves killed. You were our enemy when you almost killed Lilina, so that's at least justified, but them? Oh, that's right, I almost forgot! It's Merlinus' fault that Noah's dead and Zelot can't fight! And with that, we get Tate. Lilina celebrates by getting HP. About time! I'm not confident in the Archers' chances. The Archer dodged, but don't party just yet: he got doubled. The enemy attacks members of the A team only, which means they didn't get any results. We, however, did. Treck's really getting somewhere. I'm looking forward to promoting him. Maybe I should do it right now... ...but considering I'm only having this idea now, as I write this, it's not going to happen. Probably. Jeez, that's a lot of enemies. I'm glad the Archers are there to take hits for us. Wait, no, that's not right, I have two people in need of orion bolts! That's all that happens in the enemy phase. Treck's wounds are healed... sigh, so boring... can we get to the good part already? Of course not. It's more healing and boring fighting. But at least Saul's here to keep us entertained. Look, he got more magic! Sadly, though, he won't be able to cap speed. In this timeline, at least. Just another reason to consider this route non-canon. Now, let's bail Tate out of the Brigands' range before we're locked out of Ilia. Even more stupid risks. I was about as tired of playing this as I am of commenting it. Elen's not going to die. I think. No need to worry. I think. Oh, my, dialogue! It's completely inaccurate! Reinforcements have already arrived, in the form of Cavaliers, Bandits, and Klein! Did they fuck up when coding and put this in the wrong place? Anyhow, a weakened Bandit throws an axe at Lot, while another one gets up close and personal in order to be weakened as well. AGH! NO! I KNEW IT WAS A BAD IDEA TO EQUIP THE HORSESLAYER! HE ONE-SHOTS THEM! Stop! Exercise restraint-- Good. Thanks, Treck. Aaaaaaand that's the orion bolt gone. Great. Just great. Jeez, these guys deal some mean damage to Treck. Better be careful. See? I told you there was nothing to worry about. Both sides put their healers to good use. Except we do it better. And now, since the orion bolt's already lost... Buh-bye! Send Clarine my regards! Roy and Tate are fed kills. One more, and Tate shall get her first level. I hope she doesn't disappoint me. I really do. Look, the reinforcements! Now that was worth putting that scene into the game. What do you think, readers? Heheh, I'm such a bad person... Roy doesn't get doubled this time. I'm so proud of him. What? No! Stop fleeing! You're not supposed to escape! Not anymore! Anyhow, I decide to take a potshot at this guy. As it turns out, Barth wants me to use him! Keep this good luck up, and I might just do it. I don't want any accidents to happen. As things stand, Gant's lance should prove to be a more reasonable choice than the horseslayer. That's it! Tate got her level up. Be a good one, c'mon... Excellent. I knew I could count on you, Tate! Klein's going to go shopping with that marvelous white gem of his. Wish him good luck! The Archers fight valiantly, but... They're no match to the Paladin. Also, Treck's actually in danger for once! The humanity...! Heal up! Elen, this is getting out of hand... you've a 20% speed growth! It's low, for sure, but it exists! One'd think it doesn't, though, if all they had to go by was this LP! While on his way to the armory, Klein visits this village I couldn't take care of because Lot was too busy hauling ass to save the villages. Speaking of whom... ... ...I'm going to cut the update here. Sorry, but I think it's long enough as it is. If I just keep going, I'm going to end up burning myself out. Before leaving, however, I would like to apologize in advance if anybody finds the quality of my commentary somewhat lower in this update. I've been rather tired lately, and this chapter... doesn't exactly lift my spirits, you know. Please bear with me, I do what I can. Next time, we hopefully finish this hellish chapter and move on to (hopefully) better things. Until then, I fare you all well. Dayni
First off, I'm a little confused about the opening. Can you explain please? 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Bwahahah... it was only fitting that I'd only get lucky with Jeigan! Of course you did. But he's not the only one doing well to be fair. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Oh, well, win some, lose some. The reference was about the fact that he goes from being orange (nickname of the character I'm refering to, it makes sense in context) to being purple (he wears purple in the second season of the anime I'm referencing. Name's Code Geass, by the way). No wonder, didn't even watch an abridged version. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Actually, I got it, I just thought I'd completely disregard the context and joke and start fanboying over Stacheman. And hating Lute. I'm not too fond of Lute. Hating on Lute? Honestly why bother? She's not that popular and units raised to killing machines tend to be anyway. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: ...unless you refer to the groans of increasing discomfort. That, I know of. Here, just to get it out of the way. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Are you kidding me?! Corple was a decent human being, and recruits the second Lorenz. Lalum is crap, and the only good thing about her is Echidna. I'm still lost on why Lalum is an awful person, but Echidna > Hannibal as a unit. Course she's raised by worst Lorenz but still. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Let's see how many chapters this Knight lasts. Not too many, I bet, but at least he'll get another chance if he dies today or tomorrow. Calling it, he dies before 12 on both. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Yes, that makes perfect sense. What I questioned is why the hell that line exists in the context of that conversation. He was discussing Roy being accused of being allied with bandits by Arcardo, and out of nowhere, says that line. Why? Possibly because he's saying that the Lycians aligning with bandits allows them to minimise the blood on their hands, thus showing they don't really have that much might? Yeah, I got nothing. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Saul's a cretin, he probably didn't even think Dorothy would consider shooting him for that one. He's not wrong, though that's more because Dorothy isn't a terrible person than anything else. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Perhaps that is the case. Kind of weird, since Zinque's words about Orlo suggest they conceived that route first (hence why this one isn't referenced, it didn't exist yet), but it may be. Well the series has had its share of inconsistencies, which can happen when the writing Then again, the one time someone was brought in dedicated to writing, Fates happened. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Eh, I'm very picky when it comes to memes. UK is not one of my favourites, I'm afraid. Yeah, not one of mine either, though I expected worse. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Annoying... how dare he be weak?! Gyroscope! Bloodsucker! Misguided missile! Bougainvillea! It's boi, that's why 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Yup... back to it, again. But at least the LP isn't over, because this is a poorsman's ironman. Eh, it just means we get to see you suffer more? :P 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Actually, the name has some story behind it. I was wondering why the change. Maybe go with St. instead of Saint? Will make sense still, and they'll be more likely to use Rubenio on its own. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Even better than last time! I like it. Except he missed defense and HP, and his offense is far too bad for this to be good on the long run. But still, so many numbers! Wait, Boi gets a good level? He might not suck for 10 chapters at this rate! 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Barf! Stop this tomfoolery at once! I need you to be good! I mean, I don't, I could always just use Douglas, but Douglas can't support Lilina! Douglas is also an awful unit. It's a perfect choice either way! 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Well... he got skill, I guess... that'll make it easier to train him further? *sigh 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Shineeeeee! ...what? Can't I unleash my inner weaboo for the occasion of a Loli destroying generic bad dude in the Middle Ages of Anime? The timing couldn't be any more perfect! I have to admit I don't get it. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Jeez, now that's a good level up. This chapter's turning out pretty well! Unless you're the knightiest knight to ever knight. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Here's Klein's range. Why is Clarine supposed to make this easier, again? It's already too easy! I'm more thinking about A route to be fair, but she has a far easier job of setting up, especially as you have to rush for the first 6 turns to be in a good position imo. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Damn, that felt good. Ah ha ha, rickrolling online. How droll. I did it to a school, I'm kind of a bastard like that. It.... didn't work. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Actually, Roy, hate to rain on your parade, but he hasn't seen anything yet. He's only just arrived. Besides, your army has already destroyed the opposition, so all that remains is you and your blood-coated army. In a real scenario, you'd be dead. But alas... But Klein's clearly here from Etruria, though yes it's not like he knew. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Oh my God, are we actually... talking about it? Are you not going to pull off the usual "my reasons are my own, I cannot tell you for whatever reason, let's pointlessly fight now"? I'm not even kidding, far too often in fiction we see conflicts that could be solved if both parties just sat down and discussed the matter. And here, we find one that's actually being solved that way! Well, to be fair, that is fitting for Boi. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Oh, my, Reglay? Pent's son! Which means I haven't just killed Klein's sister, but the daughter of two of the best things to come out of FE7. Auuugh... Are you feeling regret yet? 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Meh, really bad physic shot, but it could've been worse. It could've had nobody on the screen. At least I managed to catch Saul at the very edge of the screen. Stare into the lecherous abyss long enough and it stares back at you. Let's just hope he doesn't go and burn a city over it. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Yes, Zelot and Noah proved that the day they refused to follow my orders and got themselves killed. You were our enemy when you almost killed Lilina, so that's at least justified, but them? Oh, that's right, I almost forgot! It's Merlinus' fault that Noah's dead and Zelot can't fight! Again, Merlinus is bad. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: ...I'm going to cut the update here. Sorry, but I think it's long enough as it is. If I just keep going, I'm going to end up burning myself out. Yeah I get it. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I'm liking Pent attempting to match Athos's glorious beard, though Louise's clearly gotten luckier. Though how does Ruben know? 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Probably could take the dragons if he had Forblaze on him too. Point being Pent is too OP and these two might still be able to tear through Bern better than most of Boi's Boys, especially because the 3X multiplier is in this game. Next time, will Zinque face a terrible fate in his seat? Edited January 30, 2018 by Dayni

Saint Rubenio
Father Wrys! Yes, Sir Lance? Please forgive my bluntness, but... what in the world was that!? I can't stop thinking about it! I am afraid I do not follow... You vanished into thin air, and mere moments later, you returned carrying the injured Lord Roy, as if nothing had happened! Ah, that! Ho ho ho ho! You saved us, Father Wrys. But I must know... Oh, you "must"? Is somebody threatening to do you harm if you don't uncover my secrets? Of course not! Who would do such a thing?! The man who did your eye in, for instance. ...if you're implying I'm in cahoots with that wretched monster-- Relax, I am not implying anything. My apologies. I shall explain when the time comes. But it has not just yet. Be patient! All shall become clear in due time. ... Part 16 - Barnacles that blistered. My apologies, I couldn't think of a better title. Don't let it be a testament to the update's quality, though. More on that below. Even more apologies for the delay. I made the mistake of starting both Mother 3 and FE12 once more, as well as buying subnautica, training an amiibo to kick my friends' asses when they come over for some sm4sh, and going to driving school to get my license at long last (for those who were reading my first LP, yes, I failed. Got a problem with that?). To top it all off, the last update left me a little burnt out. I don't know about you, but rickrolls aside, I bored my ass off writing that one. Not this one, though. This one's much more interesting, in my humble opinion. But it's fine now. I'm finally going to be able to play FE6 again! Woohoo! On 30/1/2018 at 8:16 PM, Levant Mir Celestia said: Fair enough. I will reply back to everyone, even if it's just these two words that don't allow for any more to be said! On 30/1/2018 at 10:41 PM, Dayni said: First off, I'm a little confused about the opening. Can you explain please? It's Wrys. Wrys is where it's at. Of course you did. But he's not the only one doing well to be fair. Yeah, all things considered, the team's not so bad. No wonder, didn't even watch an abridged version. Go ahead, I'm not much of an anime man, but that one, I liked. Hating on Lute? Honestly why bother? She's not that popular and units raised to killing machines tend to be anyway. I don't care much about her as a unit, it's just that her character's basically "arrogant little brat" in the worst way possible, even worse than Clarine. I mean, the girl starts bullying Knoll for no reason at all! Artur deserved better... Here, just to get it out of the way. Bwahahahahah... what were you thinking, IntSys? I'm still lost on why Lalum is an awful person, but Echidna > Hannibal as a unit. Course she's raised by worst Lorenz but still. She's not, it's just that her whole character can be summed up as "dancer girl teases guys and, overall, is of no consequence to anything". Compared to some of this game's gems, like Lot and Wade, Treck and Noah, Cecilia in general, and even Dolphin himself... she's really boring. Also, Echidna... eh, I'll give you that one, I'm into that kind of lady, myself. *Pig laughter* Calling it, he dies before 12 on both. Why, you-- I've got a pl-- ... ...you know what, every time I say that, somebody dies. So, I don't have a plan. Even so! Barth shall prevail! Possibly because he's saying that the Lycians aligning with bandits allows them to minimise the blood on their hands, thus showing they don't really have that much might? Yeah, I got nothing. Oh, well... He's not wrong, though that's more because Dorothy isn't a terrible person than anything else. Maybe that's why they put her in charge of Saul. They picked the nicest, plainest girl in the entire church to counter Saul. It didn't work very well. Well the series has had its share of inconsistencies, which can happen when the writing Then again, the one time someone was brought in dedicated to writing, Fates happened. Hahahahahah! I didn't know that one. Oh, my. Was that guy a harem writer or something? 'Cause I'm pretty sure that's the sort of writer that would devise characters like Camilla, Charlotte and Peri, and most importantly, a protagonist like Corrin. Yeah, not one of mine either, though I expected worse. I see. It's boi, that's why Roy's our boi! Roy's our boi! ...sadly! Eh, it just means we get to see you suffer more? :P Woo! Wait. I was wondering why the change. Maybe go with St. instead of Saint? Will make sense still, and they'll be more likely to use Rubenio on its own. Nah, I like the way Saint Rubenio looks. I was only joking when I said that it drives me mad when people call me Saint, really. That said, I encountered a bunch of hackers in a TF2 server a couple days ago, and in their offensive spam of the chat, they refered to me as "Rud". Guess my cover was blown by a child using aimbot: I, in reality, am Ruud! ... Wait, Boi gets a good level? He might not suck for 10 chapters at this rate! Don't count on it. Douglas is also an awful unit. It's a perfect choice either way! Yeah, but Douglas' appearance is badass, while Barth's face cracks me up every time. Douglas > Darth. Can't have that, now can we? *sigh The futility... I have to admit I don't get it. Shine (as in, "Shi neh", not "shain") is japanese for die. And weaboos are fond of using japanese words when it's completely uncalled for. Then again, I'm supposed to speak in spanish, yet here we are. This chapter's turning out pretty well! Unless you're the knightiest knight to ever knight. Hold your horses, Dayni, we're not out of the woods yet. I'm more thinking about A route to be fair, but she has a far easier job of setting up, especially as you have to rush for the first 6 turns to be in a good position imo. I understand, but if my usual strategy works (God forbid!), Klein won't be an issue. You'll see... Ah ha ha, rickrolling online. How droll. Yeah, yeah, droll, but you know how satisfying that was? I did it to a school, I'm kind of a bastard like that. It.... didn't work. Whoa, you tried to rick roll a whole school?! Now that takes balls, dude. But Klein's clearly here from Etruria, though yes it's not like he knew. But what if we've been fooled all this time, and Reglay is actually located in Bern?! Well, to be fair, that is fitting for Boi. Yeah, that's something I really like of him. Are you feeling regret yet? Mm, let's see, regret, regret... nope. Coulda been Dorothy! Stare into the lecherous abyss long enough and it stares back at you. Let's just hope he doesn't go and burn a city over it. When did this become the Serenesforest Frollo appreciation thread? Again, Merlinus is bad. Such a fool. Yeah I get it. Good, thanks for the comprehension. I'm liking Pent attempting to match Athos's glorious beard, though Louise's clearly gotten luckier. Do you? The beard belongs to a late joining General from the japanese hack "sword of heaven and earth". Great hack, you should all try it. The rest, I edited by myself. Though how does Ruben know? Pay attention! Probably could take the dragons if he had Forblaze on him too. Point being Pent is too OP and these two might still be able to tear through Bern better than most of Boi's Boys, especially because the 3X multiplier is in this game. Yeah, I wish he and Louise joined the team instead of his daughter and son. Next time, will Zinque face a terrible fate in his seat? Lame. Zinque isn't even sitting on a throne, it's a gate! On 31/1/2018 at 7:06 PM, Levant Mir Celestia said: The sad thing is, that's not even the worst FE has to offer from a writing perspective... Sacred Stones is. I dunno about that... SS's cast is second to Archanea in terms of being just plain forgettable imho... Eh, I'm not an expert when it comes to Fates, so I'll avoid talking about it much, but... While Magvel isn't very well fleshed out as a world, it's at least given a name and a backstory, and the characters aren't walking fanservices and most of them are actually quite interesting (Knoll, Duessel, Innes, Moulder, the Rausten trio come to mind, among others). I also liked that for the longest time, Eph and co. are actually losing the race to save the sacred stones, and by the end of the game, they lose all but one of them. Not too shabby for a "Gary Stu", eh? Lyon's an amazing villain and I wouldn't do him justice here. Fomortiis is pathetic, sure, but then we have Vigarde, who at first seems like nothing more than "generic bad king", but is then revealed to be dead, and the Vigarde we saw throughout the entire game was just a puppet used by his possesed son. And the 6 generals, aside from Glen, are all great characters. And it's not just the major villains. This may be a bold claim, but I find Orson to be one of the most unique and memorable villains in the series despite having, what, three chapters of screentime? Even some of the seemengly throwaway bosses, like Tirado, Pablo and Aias, are rather good. This is not to say FE8 doesn't have its flaws, though. Carcino is severely underused, as are Glen and the ancient heroes backstory, which seems not to have an impact on the story at all. But overall, I really liked the story of FE8. Again, I don't know much about Fates, so I'm probably screwing up big time here, but, honestly... did you only play Eirika's route? I would agree that Lyon falls a little flat in that one, and the way Renais' stone is broken there is a bit stupid, but in Ephraim's, he becomes a strong contender for the best villain in the series, in my humble opinion. Spoiler Last time, we continued where we left off in chapter 10B. Today, we continue where we left off in chapter 10B. Fortunately, this is the last time we'll be doing that. I assure you. We begin with some plot! I want to show Lot and Wade's homecoming, 'cause it's a great piece of character development. First, some serious talk. Of course he does. He's not dying any time soon. He's my best unit! Jeez... nope, I'm not letting him die. Nope, nope, nope. Not after this. Then again, I let Lugh die after he promised he'd catch up to the kids... ...urk. At least she's not going down Caeda's "I'LL KILL MYSELF IF YOU DIE" road. Swordreaver! I wonder if anything like this is given in the A route... ...huh, it is. Nice. I won't lose too much for changing routes, if I have to... One down, three to go. Go back to suffering... I used save states for this part. Please, don't sue me. Hey, at least he didn't call her a bitch, like in the old translation. That said, though, I can understand what he was doing there. Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold your horses, lady! You weren't this hasty to jump to conclusions with Lot! Well, I'm not sure about that... how much was Eliwood going to pay you, anyway? And besides, your boss is long since dead. Yes. Get some speed, will you? Help me not get you killed. Now, you may be thinking this is going to be the exact same thing, but... Nope, with Wade, we get some backstory on the swordreaver. Who could this traveller be? Bartre? It certainly sounds like Bartre to me. Well, that depends. My Wade can, because I've used him. Most Wades, however... Oki dokie, let's see what Mieu looks like now. She's just a normal little girl, just as Mary is no more than a normal young woman and Wade and Lot themselves are pretty ordinary themselves. It's a nice change of pace from the lolis, thots and white knights we usually get in the Middle Ages of Anime. The first thing she does is roast the guy she hasn't seen in ages, and might not ever see again, given my incompetence. Awesome. Nobody dare go there, this is a normal, humane conversation between down-to-earth characters, let's keep it that way. I wonder how this would've played out if Mary had been killed by the brigands prior to this scene. Poor guy. She looks innocent, but when it comes to roasting, she's a monster. Ah, a speedwing! That's great! Except it's also obtainable in route A and doesn't require bringing Wade or Lot along... No, I won't make the... ...you know what, screw it, I will. There, I feel better already. Now, if I were you, Mieu, I would back off now. After all, Wade's... ...ZALGOOOOOOOOOOO! Ahem, I mean... It shall become a meme, or I shall perish trying to make it one! That girl's going to be a great troll when she grows up. ...if she survives that long, that is, since she apparently tripped over nothing. Then again, I can't see what's out of the screen. Maybe Wade stabbed her in the knee with his swarm. Which is to say, his sword arm. Last one! You see, the difference between Wade and Lot is that Wade's conversations are more uplifting and humorous, while Lot's are depressing. It's very likely she found the body. A bit too late to try to sugarcoat it, don't you think, Lot? Okay, here comes the cheery "it'll make you like a bird!" exchange. ...c'mon, don't do this to me... Stop it! Blistering barnacles! Lot finally wakes up and, once again, tries to sugarcoat the grim truth for his little sister. Yes, please go. No, you won't, you've 14 defense! ...then again, you haven't gotten a single decent level up since you promoted... Okay, that's it. This loot is also available in the A route, but the plot obviously isn't. It's part of what makes me like this route better. Now, let's get working on this wall, shall we? It's not like we've much more to do now. In case you don't remember (wouldn't blame ya), we left the Archers for dead since one of them died, and that means no orion bolt for us no matter what. All they're good for now is being decoys. These last two Archers in particular do a quite good job at that. Not good enough, though. Only one survives. Treck kills the enemy Archer. Afterwards, he lets Barth borrow his horseslayer so he can level up. BAAAAAAAAAAAAARTH! Defense! That's all you're good for, and you're not even getting any! Okay, uh... Let's just do some rescue shenanigans, since Roy's quite far away from the action. Okay, that's it. I don't think anybody'll die right this turn. I hope. I pray... Wait a minute, why is Treck usnig an iron sword? That's not right! Also, the last of the Archers falls at last. It was inevitable. The Paladin goes after Darth Barth, but his defense is enough for him to survive. I'm so proud of him. Jeez, look at that! I should get Lot down there... Okay, so far, so good. That Paladin scares me, though... sheesh. The wall shall soon fall to our might! Tate takes the red gem from Elen's pocket and heads for the shop wiht Klein, Saul does his thing, and that's it. Oh, no, I forgot to unequip Barth's horseslayer! Awwwwpfffheww... gurrrgh... dangit all. Okay, we're alive. STILL ALIVE, still alive, huff, huff... Jeez, that's a ton of damage... Treck's 0 resistance does him no favours. What Ah, Treck died. Yeah... I, I see... Hm... ... YOU SON OF A BITCH! DIE! Imbeciles... I'm going to slaughter all of you! I'm going to kill you so hard, they won't be able to identify the bodies! Perish! Barth, please get something good... please, don't let Treck's death be in vain! AAAAAAAAAAARGH! Die, wall! Suffer the consequences of others' actions! Why did I send Lot north!? What in the world was I thinking?! Am I stupid?!?! Of course, that's the FUCKING CHERRY on top of the shit pie! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! She dodged. Good. Doesn't make this any less of a fuckin' disaster, however. I hate Shamen. I hate Shamen so much when they're not in my team. Not wanting to face the wrath of Nosferatu, I employ a more powerful entity: Lot.exe. As always, the Elimine duo do their things with varying degrees of success. As in, Saul didn't get a level, Dorothy got a pretty good one that probably won't matter in the slightest. Because if there's any doubt left, this isn't canon. It no longer is. At this point, I don't think there's anything that can make me turn this into the canon route. We lost Treck, I mean, what the fuck. He only needed one more chapter, and he would've promoted into a badass of Perceval's caliber! And guess what, we get one more chapter in the A route before this shit happens again! So yeah, I'm happy I went through this route so I could show you guys Lot's plot, but other than that... ...although there's still the problem that I don't know how to handle the route split in the crappy fanfic... In other news, Sue got a bad level up. You get res, eh, Sue? You rub salt into the gaping wound Treck's death left in me. I sent both Klein and Tate into the shop to sell stuff. If you can't tell, at this point I got real mad, and just sent Lot to take care of everything. And even then, they found a way to annoy me: a Priest on a mountain. Die already! Great, defense. That'll be a real boon against bolting Sages, yessir. Hi, Zinque! Bye, Zinque! Nice quotes. Did you pull 'em out of a book called "generic boss 101", perchance? Great, more speed and luck to make you even less likely to die. I can see the level he'll get in the A route. Skill! And that's it! No, wait, skill's good for an axe user. Nothing! Nothing at all! He won't get anything at all, because that's all I deserve, apparently! Sigh... let's not get ahead of ourselves. Gotta be positive. Only clean-up remains. Killer axe? Of course there's a killer axe! Why wouldn't there be a killer weapon to further increase the chances of my day being ruined after it already has been! I beg of you, please die. You won't, Little Shit ran away with his tail between his legs. Figuratively speaking. Still, thanks for this I will only use one chapter and is also available in the Canon route. So do I! They are responsible for this chapter's existance! Your lord is dead, you idiot. Go out there and party. Meh. I can't say I disagree. I don't like parties either. Those claustrophobic shoeboxes they call "nightclubs" are far too uncouth for one such as myself. Forsooth, I say! Also, last time I was inside one, I had to leave because my head started to hurt. I don't mean to offend anybody who likes doing that, I just don't. Nice, this'll help Dorothy destroy the rest of the route. Except it probably won't, because I'm not stupid enough not to realise that the A route might actually go even worse than this one, so I won't be reckless. I want to have the power to freely decide when the time comes. Oh, my, where have we heard that one before? Nice, another swordreaver. I could've checked if Gonzo got special dialogue in this village, but I don't think he does. Also, I was angry and wanted to get this over with. If this guy exists in the A route as well, we'll find out. And we're done. Yep, this is going to be a short update, as opposed to the last one, which was a ginormous piece of crap leading to this. Look, it's Delphin, the Prince of Little Shits! And also the superior bard we won't be getting. Joy. Yeah, and it cost us Treck. Yeah... heh... suuuure. That much is true, however. Cecilia's trustworthy. Ready for bombshell of a plottwist? Here it comes... You should have, Roy, you should have, because... LE SHOCK! Who could've foreseen that!? This is Merlinus, everyone. He's here to babble Roy's name. Yes, Merlinus, I think Roy was there too. Heck, he's closer to Delphin than you are, and he's younger! He probably heard it more clearly than you did! But Roy isn't so quick to jump to conclusions. See, Roy's an awful combatant, but he's very smart. He's our boi! You mean getting the last of the Ilian mercenaries killed, as well as the two of Lilina's retainers? Except it was just a prank. ...except it wasn't a prank, Mierdin just presented it in a way that made it seem like a prank, but... at the same time, not...? Uh... sure. Let's just proceed. Good, we got a bard for one chapter. Imagine somebody who's playing FE6 blindly, knowing nothing about the route split, and hears Zinque mention Orlo up north and is like "oh, my! I wonder how this Orlo will be involved in the storyline...", and then the game goes "nope, fuck you, we're going south". That's really nice of FE6. But then again, when has FE6 been nice at all? They've also got a lame recolor for a boss. Nice, more loot. Not anyone, actually. It's a C rank weapon. Yey! Now killing Ein will be even easier. Oh hi Mary. To what do we owe the pleasure? Nice! Wade'll be taking this one next chapter. He's ready. And with that, we can finally wave this shitfest goodbye. Next time, we take on Morgan, but not the Morgan you've in mind. Until then! Death count: Bors Wolt Deke Lugh Rutger Noah Clarine Lance Jerrot Fir Wendy Ogier Treck Barth *Discharged *Only dead in route B *Only dead in route A Reset count: 5 Dishonorable reset count: 1 Merlinus death count:

But outside of Grado, which was named after the hero who first stopped the Demon King, you get next to nothing in terms of backstory. On the character front, it also has stuff like Moulder the forgettable and dull, Neimi the crybaby, Ewan the suck-up, and Lute the know-it-all. And don't get me started on the twins. Just don't. This isn't to say I consider the cast bad as a whole (I like L'arachel, and maybe a few others), but I think the overall quality of the cast is lacking. My main issue with Lyon is the lack of consistency - I'm given one of two completely different stories depending on the route, and I'm supposed to figure out what's right and what isn't?? Also, I found Glen and Duessel to be okay, but after them... the villain quality fell faster than a team of Shedinjas that ran into Stealth Rock or Spikes, and weather damage. Which is to say, it took a huge nosedive. Other than his class, Riev is pretty much your generic evil sorcerer. Caellach is just an extremely ruthless, power-hungry bastard who's evil for evil's sake. Valter's insane... and that's pretty much the extent of his characterization. Orson flips much too quickly, and is rather underdeveloped, which has a lot to do with the fact that he turns traitor after just one chapter. Lyon is rather irrelevant for someone who's supposed to be the main villain, and suffers from inconsistent portrayal. His case isn't helped by the fact that the Grado generals, most of whom are pretty bad to just abysmal, supersede him in terms of plot relevance for most of the game, and by the time he is actually in focus, the Lyon that would be likable is gone. Long story short, I think Sacred Stones's writing was wasted potential on top of wasted potential, and I'd blame the fact that the game is just way too short (to put things into perspective, you have at least 10 semi-notable villains in a game that's rather short by Fire Emblem standards, with only 22 chapters... I'd be surprised if the quality of the writing didn't suffer at some point). I've played both routes, and even on Ephraim route, Lyon's not so great - he's not the joke he was in Eirika route, sure, but he's also not anywhere near a candidate for strongest villain in the series, if you ask me (I say that belongs to Sephiran). Saint Rubenio
Part 17 - Son of Legace. Stupid story about me nobody cares about time! I'm still working on the name. Anyhow! The other day, I used that FE sorter some youtubers have been using lately to find out who are my favourite Archaneans. The result was this. It's pretty accurate, all things considered! Arran should be number 1 as well, and I would've put the Sabre Knights and Athena over Caeda, Wendell and Lorenz, and Nyna's too high but aside from that, it's a decent list. Try it out! It takes ages to finish these things (I tried with the whole series once. Never again, ended up quitting at Binding Blade), but it's fun enough. Now, for the replies... I said what I wanted to say, and while I respectfully disagree with most of your points (Moulder, dull and forgettable? How can you forget 11 con?!), I must say, they're perfectly valid opinions. For the most part. Orson flips much too quickly, and is rather underdeveloped, which has a lot to do with the fact that he turns traitor after just one chapter. I want to go into detail here, because I don't think this is true at all. Sure, he flips "too quickly" in the eyes of us players, but in the context of the story, Orson was a veteran with many years of service behind him, and his wife had already died some time before the game. He didn't just turn traitor on the spot, he had been working for Grado and pretending everything was fine for a while prior to his betrayal. When he's revealed to be a traitor, Tirado doesn't only call him by his name, but knows about the whole situation with his wife and Lyon's deal, since he tells him that he may "go back to living with his wife". They had to have been working together for a while for a mere aide like Tirado to know so much and talk to him like that (of course, there's the fact that apparently Valter himself didn't know about Orson. That's a little plothole, and I can't think of anything to explain it). As for him being underdeveloped, that's exactly the whole deal with his character: he couldn't develop. He was an insane, broken husk of a man who was being taken advantage of by Lyon. The loss of his wife and Lyon's meddling damaged his mind beyond repair. All that could be done was to put him out of his misery. This is like saying Uther isn't a good character in FE7 because he only has like, two or three scenes worth of screentime. He doesn't really develop as a character either. Yet, his character was a huge part of Hector's, and the things he did were interesting in their own right, hiding his illness from his last remaining family to ensure he wouldn't do anything stupid when so much was at stake, in a way sacrificing his life for the greater good. There are characters that appear underdeveloped on the surface, but when you read into them, you realize there's more to them than what meets the eye. Again, you're free to disagree, just as I am. These are just opinions. There is no correct answer when it comes to that. Spoiler And part-time bard. Spoilers: we never visit Dia. It's just there for decor. "All over the Isles"? Does that mean if someone is captured in the vicinity of Eburacum, they bring him all the way down here, and then all the way back up to Eburacum? ...cum... heh... Ahem. I'm getting sidetracked. Let's keep going. Actually the situation is quite good for us. You'll see. Today's trading. Wade will promote inmediately, Saul'll follow when I feel like it. (Also, this time, I did remember to give Lilina the angelic robe). Here's the team. Ignore the corpse over there, Wrys hasn't been able to do clean-up yet. How I wish I could've faced this chapter back when I still had a decently sized army. Here's the chapter's gimmick: civilians. For once, they aren't being pasive event flags, and are actually doing something. Even if it's just escaping, I'm proud of them. That's not a "yes or no" question, man. Respond properly to Badass Civilian's question. Guess who's that. Saving these guys is extremely easy, actually. But to make up for that, FE6 will be throwing more NPCs our way, who'll be considerably harder to rescue. Look, my shoulder pads! This is Arcardo's first appearance, isn't it? Meet Robarts as well, who traded his boss status from the A route* and his name for actual dialogue. He is of no consequence whatsoever. *Hard mode only. This may seem like a very fancy subplot point, but it doesn't really go anywhere as far as I remember. Look, it's Morgan! See the title? It's a very intellectual joke, you see. Only if you possess high IQ you'll realize the fact that Morgan is the son of the Awakening avatar and this guy is a lame recolor of Legance, hence, the Son of Legance. Anyhow, you thought Zinque was bad? This guy is hilariously awful. They could've recolored Slater, or Ruud, but instead, they recolored the least unmemorable boss we've fought thus far, making the laziness even more jaring. That's all he says. At least Zinque was the leader in the axe sibling's home, so he had more to him than "yes, Lord X!". Why don't you stay here to make mincemeat out of us? I know, gameplay and story segregation, but... Arcardo's a Paladin. Cool. From his apparel, I would've expected something like a Sage, but Paladin bosses in seize maps aren't that common, so it's cool. Roy has arrived to order people to kick ass! I've said enough on this matter. It would've made for a cool escort map, except the enemy would be the ones escorting prisoners. That's a thing in Sword of Heaven and Earth. Just thought I'd let you know. Unless I'm forgetting something, this is all we get on the matter of the traitor. Enjoy it while it lasts. Well, we can do both things at once, because... ...that's far from the only sidequest in this chapter. Overall, it's much easier than 10B, but more tedious, and that ballista in the middle is the culprit. That guy's existance means 6~ turns of fliers and squishies not being able to proceed further into the map. It's really annoying. Other than that, it's best to send Roy south and Fir west, but since Fir died because Noah died because chapter 7 is still ruining everything to this day, we'll just have to pray to Ayatollah nobody kills themselves before Roy can turn them blue. The citizens are completely defenseless, and the first time through, you might pull out a few hairs when they stupidly walk inside the ballista's range, but don't worry. IntSys was feeling merciful that day, so the ballista won't target the civilians. Morgan's Legance in a gate instead of a throne, and slightly higher stats, 4 chapters later. He's a joke. Last but not least, here's Delphin. He's just a bard, he doesn't have much more to him. Although, his defenses are extraordinarily high for what's the norm in his line of work. That's handy. Promotion time! Waiting would be counterproductive at this point. Unleash your inner warrior, Wade! Nice! He's slow, but eh, nothing a speedwing can't fix. Lot celebrates his partner's promotion by shooting a Mercenary. First blood's for Dorothy! The promoted team shall take on the Fighters. Uh, and Astore. But he's a "prepromote" Thief of sorts, so I guess he counts? In any case, boring fighting comes to pass. Truly tragic. No, don't worry, I won't forget to make her put on the robe. Just watch. This is the ballista's range. Half my team wouldn't survive taking a bolt. The ballista's range takes up half the map. Joy. Anyhow, time to level up for the first time in the chapter. Make it a good one, Dorothy. I'll take it. Delphin plays a song for Lilina just for the experience, while Tate finishes the last of the nearby Fighters. The ballista, as expected, ignores the civilians and goes for Lot, who doesn't care. While healing takes place, I'd like to take a moment to tell anybody thinking about playing FE12 in maniac that they should train Wrys. I know Malicia is better, but when Wrys' ginormous resistance carries you through chapter 9, you'll thank me. Marcus is still a great frontliner. At this pace, he's going to remain great until the endgame just fine. Sue and Gonzo rescue Little Shit away from the Balistician's range. And thus commences the Massacre of the Lotcopter. Seriously, he critted far too much in this chapter. Lotcopter count: 2. That guy is normally threatening. Here... even if he hit Lot critically (highly unlikely), he wouldn't have done that much. He may not have too much strength, but otherwise, Lot's friggin' amazing. Both Ballisticians attempt to kill Marcus, since he's an elderly Jeigan, but little did they know, he refuses to be a mere Jeigan! Since he didn't use an axe against the Archer, Lot fails to copter away. Wait a minute...! Okay, everything's fine. Barely so. Look, healing, item using and barding, all in one set of screencaps! It's the ultimate boredom! Roasty Mercenary! My favourite! Lilina just got even roastier. 1 point away from the cap! Maybe then she'll start getting other stats. So far, so good. Look, here's Morgan's Recapture The Civilians Squad. They're extremely late. The Archer tries to make a last stand, but fails miserably. Marcus' attackers don't fare much better. In fact, they end up even worse. No luck dodging ballista bolts today, though. Sheesh. Marcus took it like a champ, but Klain's defense isn't very good. The civvies keep running towards Lot, Wade, Klein and Tate. Once you clear the path for them, they'll make a beeline for the starting point and exit the map. That's all the means of healing the northern team has, by the way. An almost empty vulnerary. I tried Elen, but Elen's far too weak to dare walk inside the ballista's range. That's fine: they don't need healing. The Archer guarding the southern ballista is dead. And if Dorothy can pull it off, the Ballistician himself shall follow suit. Astounding shot! So long, longbow. You served us well. The rest of the team crosses the bridge, except for these 4. I don't trust them to survive. Astolfo would probably make it, but I can't think of any reason to make him risk his neck like that. It's not like he is only here because I've lost a higher amount of main team members than free deployment slots. Reinforcements! These guys would mean this is a bit of a timed mission if one wants to save the village, but... ...wait for it... ...there. The village spawns reinforcements of its own! It's he of the name! The bad name! The foul Morgan! And you got off the hook because... Morgan! Dastard! Olympic Athlete! Dunderheaded coconut! Vermicelli! Rapscallion! Autocrat! Shipwrecker! Harlequin! Rat! Yeah, you don't have the stats to take on Morgan. You've got just enough speed to avoid being doubled, but that's about it. C'mon, tell him! You might wound his pride, but at least you'll save his flesh! Also, he was a merchant. Imagine he says "okay, I will" and comes out of the village as a level 10 Merchant... Merlinus would be green with envy. Greener than usual, I mean. Let's hope you'll be. And so, he leaves the village to throw handaxes at Pirates. Geese is, despite the appearances, painfully mediocre. The guy's stupidly balanced to a fault, his bases are stinky for his high level, he doesn't get hard mode bonuses, and Gonzo outclasses him. Still, I like his character and his design. I might try to make something out of him. With that out of the way, it's time for routinary stuff. Dangit, now that's annoying. Hm... I wonder... Nope, she can't quite make it. See, that's the worst part about this map. When not even a flier can fly through the danger, who can? Not these three, that's for sure. Keep 'em company, Astolfo. I'm not sure, but I think that might just be the last ballista bolt. Wouldn't that be swell? Geees chips down this guy. Then we flail our arms around like idiots, sending arrows and handaxes into the sea. Poor fishes. Lilina buys a couple lightning tomes in preparation for what soon shall come to pass. Jeigan level! Hype, hype, hy-- What? No! I need you to keep on getting Oifey-tier levels! With the ballistician finally out of commission, our Lord and Savior can finally start to catch up with his army. Lot'll take on the enemy. Oh, God... thank whoever's in charge of these guys for giving that guy an inaccurate steel axe, or else we would've lost Geese right there. Lot vaporizes the Shaman and severely wounds the Druid. He gets even more speed and nothing else. Jeez, Geese, you couldn't even avenge those two thirds of health you lost to these buffoons. Turn blue already so I can bench you. Why else would I have made Roy talk to you? Roy, don't say that! You know Etruria's evil! Why would you tell one attacking Etrurian soldiers that you're with Etruria? Yep, Roy's lucky this guy stinks. Figuratively, not literally, hopefully. Lylylyly. Ahen. Good. Better late than never. That was productive. Yes, that's exactly how a real person would describe all the corruption and manslaughter that's been taking place in the Isles. "Something strange". Also, no, I didn't mean to use another word. Manslaughter's it. Not doing it again. I doubt you could, since you'll just disappear from the face of the plot after you are recruited. This excuse again. But, of course, "rich" in this place equals to "asshole", so it's fine. Nice, we got the most fabulous axe fighter in all of GBA FE! And GBA in general, unless I'm forgetting someone. For a while, as in, to the bitter end of either the war, or yourself. Here, have some heals to celebrate your recruitment. That shitty shirt does not look like your magnificent purple jacket at all, which is a shame, since your jacket is almost Sabre Knight tier. Not quite, however. Those guys were too epic. Part of the reason why I did that was that I wanted Saul to get another level up. I could've grinded those two remaining levels, but... eh. Maybe in the A route, where there'll be an arena. The rest is just the usual. Elen gets some free experience. And-- c'm-- -- -- -- Bah. Sadly enough, Klain takes the Druid kill. Tate's almost caught up to her squad. I just hope the friendlies give her one more turn to get closer. Klein! Sue! Everyone! Dodge something! Oh, no, not yet... noooo! He's going to kill himself! "Daring prison break" my ass! Manliness or not, you're going to get killed, Bartre! ...then again, it might be for the best... he'll be reunited with his family in the afterlife... Yes, absurd indeed! You shall live, my brave Bartre, you shall live! No, wait, don't get ahead of yourself! NOOOOOOOO COME BAAAAAAAAACK! Anyhow, here's the man himself. Bartre, the good version! Statwise, he's Wade. Really, he is! He's much luckier, but has lesser defense. Everything else is more or less the same. Still, there are a few differences. For starters, his speed growth is better, and he has a bow rank. However, he lacks a good support partner. Also, he's going to die because we're never going to reach him. No! He's not going to die! I murdered his daughter, but he shall live! Saul's got a physic staff, we can do it! Speaking of Saul... he's ready. The tiny priest... ...now has an epic, Wendell-tier hat! Quite honestly, I hate that they ditched this sprite in FE7 and 8. I mean, it's not just the hat, he's also got an amazingly huge golden crucifix on his chest. Even the robes themselves look better than those from the FE7/8 sprite! Jeez, Saul. He's faster than Lot already! I wouldn't use him to tank, but he'll be an amazing artillery unit. There you go, Saul. Take some lightning! D'OH! NOT LIKE THAT! AAAH MY EYES! Guess we'll just have to wait for the flashbang's effects to fade away. I'll be seeing you then. Saint Rubenio
Father Wrys? Ah, hello, Lady Elen. How is your day going? Not bad, thank you... I'm just happy we haven't gotten into another fight yet. That might change at any moment, though... are you coping with everything all right? I think so. Thank you for your concern. I wanted to ask you a question. And what may it be? You've experience with staves, have you not? Why aren't you helping us? I'm not trying to offend you, I just... No offense taken, fret not. The truth is, I have been in far too many wars... I have taken many a wound. I have seen people die before my eyes. I have witnessed families be torn apart. Countries ruined. Villages razed to the ground. Misery. Tragedy. Despair. ... I will not just stand and watch as war rages on, but... I fear my body and especially my mind would not be able to take fighting in the frontlines again. I hope you can forgive me... Of course I forgive you! I... completely understand. I really do. Thank you. ...my, that got depressing quite fast, did it not? Here, have some tea and cookies! Thank you... Munch, munch. Part 18 - Man of manliness. On 7/2/2018 at 9:11 PM, Dayni said: I highly doubt they intended on having Garon look so dumb. I wasn't talking about the "dumb" part, but the whole "discomfort" ordeal. As I said, they most likely designed Azura with a particular goal in mind. There's no way the discomfort crap was unintentional. They were probably believing themselves so subtle. And then they had a stroke of genius and created Camilla. The problem is it's Garon. This, as well. That's where the term came from. 4Chan co-opted it for the meaning we know it as today. Ahhhh, culture! I'm happy. No, someone in my year. If any teacher knew the song I don't think they knew why I picked it. Hey, teaching isn't exclusive to old-timers. I think. Edited it out myself. I haven't done Spinny merc yet, but there's more where that came from. It's funny. A few more LPs, and I might just be able to do like in all those professional-looking SA LPs where they post all the viewer art in the OP. Except Serenes won't let me edit the OP, because I have negative luck (remember my new MU in FE12? She's not quite as bad as Pretzel, but she's still my worst unit. Even Jake surpassed her after a few levels. Yeah), and I'll just have to settle for a crappy art post. It would fit the overall level of my plays. Oh no, he has two war factories! I wonder what the other one looks like. Franp's on to something. Read below. But muh Gonzy! Bah. Geese's more balanced anyways. Yeah, mistake of mine. I was on about promotion items in general. Right. I consider Douglas the worst unit in the game. That's why I am. ...Douglas, the worst unit in the game? Below Wendy, Sophia, Wade (not my Wade, of course), Juno, etc.? I respect your opinion, but I disagree. Are we sure this isn't the first War Dragon we fight? Or some test dummy Lyon made after what happened with Orson? Or one of Nergal's last morphs? Hahahahahahahah... fucking Morgan, man. He's so generic, I'm tempted to include him in the crappy fanfic in some way, but I can't think of anything! He's too generic! Maybe I'll shoehorn Tomas in somehow to make up for that. It would make me laugh. But hey that's just a theory Hmph... I'm not too crazy about those guys. They're to blame for everyone going "HURR DURR MARIO IS AN ABUSIVE BROTHER, LUIGI IS A DELICATE LITTLE SNOWFLAKE LIKE OURSELVES!". Can't a man like both of 'em? Yes, pray to the Ayotollah. That will please me. /s Huh huh... auuugh... Huh. That'll make things easier. Didn't realise that. See, my LPs are very educational. In the last one, for instance, we learnt Horsemen can destroy villages and I still haven't gotten over that! All this low effort. It's beautifully dumb. I was hoping if I didn't mention it, people wouldn't notice the fact that I forgot to screencap Delphin's stats and had to improvise. He probably stinks of drink. Probably had the money for everyone's tab. Makes sense. Also hypocritical considering his origins. To be more precise his dad's. Ah, the unnamed rich snake who deemed it wise to give his estranged son a brother 20 years after his birth. Ain't FE7 just beautiful. Ah Bartre, the man I wish I liked as a unit. At least he has bases this time around? Is God finally striking him down? No such luck, I'm afraid. The only one who's got a chance to strike him down is Yodel, and there's still a ways before we get to him. Judge Saul Frollo! I was wrong! Truly the devil is strong in him! That's perfect. I need to make an edit about that. (Considering Frollo in the book was the deacon, these jokes must be stoked like the fires of hell) We keep this pace up, we're going to run out of Frollo quotes before we reach the end of this. Next time, we see if travelling through time allowed Morgan to get any secret weapons up his sleeve. Or if he's a disappointment. What do you expect? I suppose the literal translation from japanese is Idenn, though, so I'll forgive your mistake. Maybe we should start praying that she gets other stats. But muh atheism! So long, Bow. You shall be missed. Ah, the Hair Product Pirate Merchant makes his appearance. It's gonna be fun to see you try to use him. Ah, yeah. Perhaps. :( Hey now, maybe in route A I will. Not just manslaughter, but womanslaughter and childrenslaughter as well. Etrurians tell pretty good jokes it seems. Etrurians are funny assholes, indeed. Is this game actually communist propaganda or something? It does seem like it at times. By the way, where's KnightofNohr? I haven't seen him in a while. You're right... maybe he's lurking like you. Cease that at once, the both of you! Spoiler Last time, the lightning tomes misfired as Lilina handed them over to Saul, and I had to give my eyes a few days. First thing today, we get to see Gonzo failing at stuff, which is probably not what the flashbang was hiding. Roy finishes the filthy corsair off instead. Geese then helps him equip his iron sword, because I fear doubles since 10B. And that's another turn gone. Nothing happens in the enemy phase, so let's send Geese back to visit his village. They don't recognize him, of course. Why would they? That would take at least 10 minutes to write and code in. Free money! Give Roy a ride, Marcus. I'm losing hope of being able to catch Bartre, but there may be time yet... Yes, Saul'll be dodge-tanking the bridge. He's got enough speed and support from Dorothy to pull it off. Morgan is then told that he's got reinforcements. How will he employ them? Just you wait... But first, some competence. He got hit critically, by the way. The light of heaven shall smite-- No! Crap! I overestimated you! Saul! Don't die! The world may be a better place if you leave it, but the army won't! Phew... well, it's over. I've only been taught a lesson in humility. Good thing, that. Bartre! What are you doing?! No harm done (well, not too much, he got hit the second time. Good effort still), but we really need to restrain him. Curse you, ballista! Had Tate been there to catch him, this wouldn't be happening! ...and curse you even more, 10B! You killed my only Cavalier! Bartre's pals do about as well as they usually do. That is to say, not well at all. Die, all of you! You almost rid the world of the dross that is Saul! You're enemies from the Etrurian arc, you're not allowed to perform good deeds! Sue! C'mon! That's enough speed! I waste Mierdin's turn refreshing Dorothy, and now Elen can't get to the action quickly. Typical me strats. It was at about this point in time that I remembered Saul has a physic staff. Look, it's the reinforcements! Remember "spread them around the castle to defend us on all sides"? It sounded really clever at the time, but really, Morgan can't use reinforcements to save his life. And rest assured, he won't be able to save his life. Ergh, I have no idea what this is. I mean, did he die? Did he get attacked to almost death? No, that doesn't make any sense, the Mercenary's sure to double those wimpy Fighters... what? No, Bartre, you imbecile! Stop it already! Manliness alone won't save you! He's dead. He's so very dead... and the worst part is, I can't even do anything about it! Damned inevitably dumb AI! Yes! Yes! Yeeeeeeees! He shall live another day yet! OOOOOOOO kay, everything's fine. Just dandy. Damnit, Klein, all you've done thus far is to inconvenience me, and to be useless. What's wrong? Somebody tell you lil' sister's pushin' up daisies?! Hah hah hah! Ah... Oh, my! One of these idiots stepped into Morgan's range! Let's see his quote. Bwahahahahahah... hahahahahah! Haaahaaah! The huge dumbass took 10 seconds to realize he wasn't speaking to one of his men! Also, "kill"? Weren't his orders to capture them back? He can't even kill the generic Fighter. Morgan just keeps getting better and better. ...oh, he got doubled. And he still survived. Go home, Morgan, you're too incompetent. Bartre! Nooooooooooooooooo! You were so close... fuck my life. He just had to miss both times, did he not!? Stupid fuckin' AI! Damnit all to hell! Oh, well. It wasn't like I was going to use him, or this route. Then again, this means Karel isn't going to be recruited. Although, that may be for the best. He won't have to get involved in the war and risk dying. Instead, he'll have to cope with the news that his entire family has been slaughtered, and he's now all alone in the world. ... ... ...let's... move on. Good, we're done with that disaster of a turn. The civvies have escaped, so we've got that going for us, at least. Never mind, this idiot had yet to move and join his partners in death. The 3rd Lotcopter shall avenge Bartre's untimely death. Healer-on-healer action. Don't worry, only one guy can reach Saul. Just in case you forgot, Klein almost died because he sucks, so Tate will cover him. People are desperately trying to defeat Lot, but to no avail. Even Morgan gives the whole failing business a whirl! Wade and Tate aren't quite as spectacular as Lot, in that they merely "survived", instead of "had no chance of dying in the first place". The axe siblings team up to demolish Morgan's well-employed reinforcements. Lotcopter count: 4. Elen heals Marcus. You know, in either of the other GBA FEs, I'd have to use Elen for healing all the time if I wanted Saul to have a chance at using Aureola. However, this is FE6, and therefore... Healers don't get completely screwed, because any given unit can have two S ranks at once. This means I can just make him heal to my heart's content and still get him to S light in, like, chapter 21. Those two can't fight the Fighter alone, so they'll just bail. Quality Hard Mode bonuses at work right here. Saul, meanwhile, takes the forest in order to properly dodgetank. However, Marcus is attacked instead. And Wade. Saul has just enough faith to smite these guys in just one round of enlightment. Except, of course, he doesn't feel like it. Lilina finishes the job. Marcus is badly wounded! Not any longer, though. My! Elen got speed! Isn't that sweet? If every single level from here to 20 is perfect, I might even consider promoting her at chapter 16! Elen Dorothy (stupid typos, good thing I caught that one) gets speed again, at last. That'll help her survive against stray Mercenaries. The next 10 turns or so will just be "Morgan tries to defeat us by sending in two guys at a time, we destroy them". Like sHWAAAGAAH! You can tell my concentration was fading at this point. Yep. That's it. You know what? Since the only thing I'm going to do from here to Morgan's death is to wait the reinforcements out, I think I'm going to skip everything until something important happens. If you can't tell by the almost week-long delay, my interest in these chapters died with Treck. If you don't like it, yell at me and I won't do it again. If you like it, yell at me as well and I'll try to do it more often when we come to situations like this. Figures... but I'm still not taking this route. Probably. Now, on to the highlights because I'm tired. Saul gets a level up! ... Why?! Why are the non-canon levels so good all of sudden!? Damnit all, I can already see the emptiness that will become the running theme of the A route... Lotcopter 5 and Wadesythe! Saul is healed by Elen. Now, you might be wondering: how is this interesting? I don't know, I found it funny. By the way, no, Roy can't lift Delphin. Lotcopter 6! I really don't understand why I got so lucky with the rolls in this chapter... Oh, of course, it's the non-canon route. The RNGoddess heard me state that, and decided to piss me off. Well, she failed. I'm just bored at this point, which means I'm glad she's decided to speed things up with a few timely crits. Just in case anybody's wondering why I decided this was so bad, it had to be skipped... here. These are all different screenshots. At long last! No more reinforcements! I didn't take a screencap of the turn count at the time, but I imagine it must've been quite high. Let's show Morgan the light now. Saul got a level up. I suppose this means the universe is back at balance? Some God's power later, Morgan almost dies, but Saul can't quite do it. To make things worse, he's hit by the foul man's javelins while he was distracted! The situation is dire...! But here comes Dorothy, to save the day! Why, you... way to ruin the epic moment! Nope, that's not how it's going to go. Down with you! Very interesting. That's more interesting. Not too bad, Dorothy. Your stats are a little low for such high level, but this is FE6. It doesn't matter. The important part is that you keep all of your red cells within your veins and arteries until I decide to promote you, and on to the end of the game. So what are the results of Saul's training in the ways of the faith? Very good, actually! More than half way through D in the very first chapter where light magic becomes available. Then again, this isn't the canon route, and the other one doesn't have a thousand reinforcements to train on. Let's leave this nightmarish route behind, now. We didn't do much of note, all things considered. They could just shit out a new Morgan and use another castle. Hell, they might actually set up their new base closer to the mines! We've helped them out of their own idiocy! In the other route, we destroyed the most important pillar of the whole corruption system, but here? We barely cut one of the nodes! Yes, to Jutes! We're most definitely not going to backtrack to chapter 9! I wonder what that'll be. Roy's greatest display of intelligence and acumen as of yet! This scene's golden. I'll admit, his ruse is marginally better than Camus'. Wait, no, what am I saying? It isn't! He doesn't even have a mask! He's still the fuckin' prince! And don't tell me he was horribly disfigured by the attempt on his life, Perceval inmediately recognizes him the second he catches sight of him, and he wasn't aware of Douglas' plan! The only reason Roy took this long to figure him out (and it's a pretty short time, considering he's been with us for all of one chapter) is that he didn't know what the prince looked like! Has nobody in the Western Isles seen their occupying country's sovereign? I hope "occupying country's sovereign" is correct. I've been searching for the correct word for "puppet state owner" for 10 minutes and it's driving me nuts. I know TV didn't exist back them, but... at least there's bound to be some descriptions of him floating around! He's got an easily recognizable appearance! Oh, Roy. "I can't quite expain it". You're smarter than him, that's it. Well, what do you have to say for yourself, Little Shit? Delphin accepts defeat, as well he should. Roy then mocks him. Amazing. Bwahahahahahah... absolutely delightful. The only way that would've been any more perfect is if he'd finished by saying "Prince Myrddin". Yeah, you stay silent. It's not like you can do much else. Yeah! Communism! Heck yeah! Look, it's Good Civilian! And he just called Merlinus "you with the mustache"! I like him more and more by the minute. What I don't understand is how he knows Roy's name. Eh, I suppose Delphin's inside man told them... ...that doesn't sound like knowing your savior's name, but all right. Let's say it makes sense. It'll get us to the end of this route faster. Good, you're welcome. He will, in between "IT'S A TRAP"s and "LORD ROY!!"s. Okay, that's enough. Here it is, one of the two only energy rings in the game! The other one's at Ilia, by the way, which means there's a chance you'll never get to feed your weaklings strength. Isn't that great? Now, here's my desktop wallpaper, but most importantly, the B savestate in case I want to use this file. It might very well happen, if the A route goes badly enough. (Ignore the note, in my FE12 run, I've decided that I'll sacrifice a unit for every Marth death. It's... not going well thus far, I lost Caeda, Wrys, Frey, Athena, Palla, Linde, the hammerne staff, Malice, Rody (finally!), Navarre...) And with that, I fare you all well until next time. See you! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! NOT THIS!! ANYTHING BUT THIS!!! To be continued.
