So sure, blocking Athol is an option, but you should still try to keep up the pace. I would still recommend to somehow keep the talk chain with Zade going. But I do of course understand that there is a lot to do here. Also, despite her having a Heal staff, she won't actually heal anybody. Guess they wanted her to work like the priests in Berwick Saga chapter 3. But whatever the case, she will never actually use that staff. So if you manage to take less then 8 turns, I'd recommend blocking Athol from entering, so you can make use of that extra time. Plus, if you always make sure to always take exactly 8 turns, it's easy to memorize what your current turn limit is. I suppose the big brain play would be to block Athol from entering the first town until the entire rest of the map is cleared. Since missing out on that first town just makes you lose some money.
